Horrible staff. Booked handicapped room with roll in shower and 2 double beds for self and caretaker. Called to confirm room booked was the one I got. Oh yeah they don’t pick up when you call so it took about a half hour calling and when I got through the hotel staff was an unhelpful rude fool. When I arrived the staff was nasty. Gave me a room with a tub and single bed. They said they had no handicapped rooms left. Refused to refund my money and said I had to call Kayak. Would not give me kayak’s phone number. Difficult to get through to Kayak. Another 45 minutes calling over and over trying to get through. Then Kayak wanted all this evidence which I sent and I still haven’t heard if they’ll refund my money. They didn’t even cancel the rest of the stay and stole all my money. I’m disabled so this is especially cruel. Also the staff started loudly complaining about me and my assistant in the lobby. They were threatening not just rude. The staff did other shady things too but I’m focusing on the main complaints. The hotel itself is well located but not well maintained and has a lot of random non- guests going in and out the main entry. Not the safest place to stay. Other guests looked aggrieved too. Also not particularly clean either.
Facility is well kept but older. Needed to stay in Tarrytown but did not have vehicle so this was best location of those available. Stayed here several years ago. Nicer when diner was open across the road.
I was pretty torn about the experience overall. There were issues that came up during the stay that I wish hadn't, but I must say, the staff showed a real sense of ownership in trying their absolute best to remedy the issues. It's hard to say if the issues that we did experience were related to the ownership/management of the hotel, but if they can get more staff like the ones they have now, they can improve.
