It was a really nice, quiet place with a friendly atmosphere. There was a good bar and restaurant where you could chat to the other guests. The room was very clean and the restaurant served really good food. The staff were very friendly and the service was very good. It was close to all the nearby attractions.
The food was excellent, never had so much steak in a home made steak & kidney pie, the room was very clean & the bed comfortable, the lounge/bar area was plush with leather chairs/sofas. The staff were friendly & hospitable. Overall a very pleasant & value for money stay My stay was perfect
As I travel alone frequently on business, Manian Lodge proved to be a fantastic find! The owners and staff are very friendly, and will go out of their way to ensure you have the perfect stay when visiting Pembrokeshire! The food was also of great standard, a good choice for both evening meal and breakfast. As a business traveller, the free wi-fi was also a bonus. I will most definitely be back and would recommend this guest house 100% to all types of visitors; from experience it is a much better choice than any other hotels in the area.
The staff and food were good. The Wi-Fi was very good: fast and reliable. Everything was very clean and worked well. The packed lunches were excellent and very convenient. The bed was rather hard, but otherwise everything was lovely.
Just an excellent hotel all round Non
Excellent place to stay. The hosts Mike and Julie are very friendly and accomodating. The evening meal was excellent as was the breakfast. Would definately recommend it. No real bad points, the only bad thing was we wish we could have stayed longer.
Very friendly and helpful staff n/A
This hotel is convienently situated for Saundersfoot/Tenby area. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. The owner was helpful and friendly.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and I and my guests were made to feel really at home The Hotel could not be faulted
Really clean and good value for money. Staff very friendly N/A
breakfast was very good. hotel a bit dated, and very hard to find a parking place, even in November.will be much worse in the summer
It was peaceful and relaxing, the room was clean and the staff were excelellent The show wasn't very powerful
The cleanliness of the room and excellent breakfast. Very well situated near the town centre and on the sea front.
staff were very helpful, breakfast very nice. proximity to beach great no on site parking, parked 100yrds away £4.00 per day, although the multi storey a bit futher away costs £2.00 per day. Bathroom a bit cramped and dated.
Very friendly staff, excellent food, and the cleanliness of the whole of the hotel. The en-suite facilities were quite small in the room we were in.
I booked a single room but due to the low season, the owner is generous enough to upgrade my room to sea view double room for free. It is very nice and warm. The hotel is at a very strategic location.
The location was really excellent. It was obvious that some of the rooms are great - and very comfy as they have been recently refurbished but unfortunately ours was not. And it needed refurbishment. It is not fair that you pay the same price for a refurbished and an un-refurbished dated room. And all the pictures of the rooms advertised on the website - are of course from the refurbished rooms so we felt a bit taken aback when our room wasn't one of them because we thought we were getting what we saw. Also, during the weekends there is too much noise coming from the bar - if you're on the first floor you can hear practically everything. I understand if it is early but the music kept going until very late. Very disappointed that the room did not have a bath as shown!
the room (and view) car park very tight
Hotel was in a very beautiful location. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast a good size. The bed was comfy. The shower was quite small and the door a bit wonkey. Also the bathroom door was very hard to open and close and had to get someone to give it a push from the outside one time so that I could get out.
Staff were very friendly and the room lovely breakfast very nice. We had entertainment on both evenings and the bar prices were reasonable for a hotel. The only fault was that the room was directly over the kitchen and you could hear the noise from the refrigerators through the night and it was very noisy early morning when the staff were working. Would stay again but ask for a different room
The room was clean, modern and very comfortable. The dining room and bar service was excellent - nothing was too much trouble and the variety of food available was very good.
Comfy bed excellent service location by the sea will be lovely in summer
There was a very friendly atmosphere in the hotel. The food was excellent and the room was comfortable. We are thinking of booking another short stay there.
Very helpful staff, nice bar, good breakfast, would stay again if working in the area Parking at the back is hard to find and you need to drive very very slowly or you will bump the car as it is a dirt track, now I know about this would have no problems in the future
I was very impressed by the standard of care of the friendly staff and the meticulous care given to my speciaal diet. It was a very relaxing stay and I would happily recommend the Gower
Breakfast, Location, Staff, Parking Paper thin walls, noise from other guests and I couldn't see the Taj Mahal from my Bedroom window!!!!
Friendly service and the excellent position of the hotel. Good parking facilities. Quite noisy in room. We had an extractor fan from the kitchen outside the window and a water tank above us that filled whenever anyone drew water. We were woken at 6.30 each morning by this. If we return we'd request a room on a lower floor.
Walking and enjoying the beach and harbour No
Excellent food, comfortable room and friendly and efficient service. Lack of a comfortable lounge area. The bar is fine but not really adequate as a lounge.
Mainly its location, a minute's walk from the bus stop and close to the waterfront and village centre. Good restaurant too. And it has a lift!!! Not really.
Very friendly staff, excellent breakfasts, very good location. Difficult access to the hotel's parking area.
Excellent food freshly cooked for both breakfast and evening meal,I would recommend the a la carte menu
The hotel is situated in a beautiful little village, only about 10 minutes from Tenby town centre. The ideal location for a quiet little get away. The quality of the rooms far exceeded my expectations, a nice mix of tradition and modern decor, clean and comfortable. The pub itself is lovely, very cosy with log fires, and the food of a good quality. But the main thing was the service provided by the staff, they were so friendly, helpful and polite, nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be looking to stay at the hotel again in the future and would highly recommend it to people looking to just escape for a little while. The only thing some people may dislike is the noise during the evening, however this should be expected as the property is a pub. I do however have to give compliments to the staff, as from midnight the noise is immediately brought down to a minimum,
Very friendly staff. Room was warm, clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast cooked to order and good range of tasty well cooked evening meals as well. Lovely atmosphere. The walls are very thick so noise from the pub was not heard in the bedroom. We stayed as a couple on this occasion but I would also happily stay here as a single female when on business trips.
Very friendly welcome - couldn't do enough for us. None
Food - lemon sole, homemade onion rings, free steak & kidney pies watching Wales v South Africa Rugby. Friendly atmosphere.
No frills comfortable, clean and restful. Perfect for my overnight business stop. Excellent food and friendly staff. Mobile phone signal not great but free WI-FI very useful.
Very friendly staff, excellent food, clean rooms! Rooms are on the small side, but really not a problem.
The room was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay there again.
Room was lovely and the owners mother was lovely and attentive without disturbing our stay Initially I didn't like he maintenance train that came past at 4am. it really is scary if in a deep sleep.but now I think. "what an experience" I challenge anyone to sleep through it!
Excellent accomodation, very clean and well presented, welcoming friendly propeietors. Restaurant was five star, good choice of excellent well prepared food.Good extras in a very comfortable, well appointed bedroom. None
The decor of the rooms and the comfortable furnishings, and the high standard of the on suite Lack of separate lounge faclities. Lack of noise insulation between bedrooms. Small food portions
Quality of room and location of hotel re coastal walks very close to railway line trains start very early in the Morning
We arrived at 9 pm and there was no food availabel. Breadfast was poor for a so called 4 star hotel. Towels were ragged and grubby.
The food was excellent, the staff very helpful and friendly, the spa very relaxing after a days sightseeing and the room was very comfortable The half mile quoted did not take you into the centre of Tenby you then had quite a steep hill to walk up to get to the square or the sea front
fantastic breakfast menu, well equiped rooms, sun terrace also use of spa
Good Staff Dated and stuffy room
Nice location. Efficient, discreet staff. Well run hotel Double bed should have a double matress
The staff were professional and very efficient the hotel facilities and restaurant was excellent. The water temp in the shower/bath was not adjustable, fault which the staff tried to solve.
The patio outside the room. Also the staff were very friendly and helpful.
location, size and comfort of room, spa facilities, good breakfast, overall value for money.
relaxing ,fulfilled our requirements of a short country getaway breakast service could have been better. however we made allowance for waiter,s partial incapacition
Coasy little room ! Shower didn't work at all !! Breakfast wasn't ready at 7:00 am !! TV had ownly 4 channels - no eurosport
Very friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms with good facilities The hot tub in the leisure sweet was not working
Great location, nice rooms Poor service in the restaurant. Expensive for what it was
The brand new rooms, huge beds, big fluffly towels and the amazing views. The Plasma screen at the end of the bed was quite cool too!
the view was amazing
Comfortable accommodation with spectacular views of the harbour and beaches. Good resturaunt meal from the kitchen but see below for front of house staff grumble. Actually used this trip to propose to my (now) fiance and felt generally very let down by some instances of unfamiliar (almost surly) front of house staff lacking any consideration for hotel guests along with the circumstances of the stay. Waiter wouldn't accomodate an easily managable request for a table with a window view in the resturaunt even whilst tables had yet to be allocated for meal bookings. The explaination offered was these would be allocated on 1st to arrive without distinguishing between non residential and residential bookings or diners! Table bookings were from 7.30pm with ours at 8pm. The waiter said we could take our seat immediately to secure a good table however it was 6.50pm and we were not dressed appropriately after a day walking. An appeal was given with an explaination of the circumstances again which fell on deaf ears from an apologetic but inflexible waiter. Regretable that such a great place and special occasion should be tarnished by this unexpectedly awkward and embarrassing situation.
The room was excellent one of the best we have stayed in room 111. Nothing except the view from the room of the car park....
Location of hotel offers an excellent panaramic view of the bay from the bar and dinning /breakfast areas. The staff were curtious and helpful.Accomodation was clean and comfortable. Bathroom in the room contained a sink of the bowl design situate so low that it was dificult to use with overall bathroom space being very tight.
the staff were really helpful and friendly and the room was wonderful with the best sea views!
Beautiful view from the restaurant. Free wireless Internet access was limitedto a download maximum.
The Spa service was very good. The food and restaurant staff were very good and helpful. Fantastic views out over the village. It helped that we had good weather there were a few gripes about the room - shower was not hot or powerful and was also loose (we did report this to the hotel when we checked out so hopefully they have resolved this).
A really nice room and a great Bacon Sandwich (my request) for breakfast. A 5minuter walk into Tenby town.
friendly service and cleanliness of hotel, perfect location, generally a lovely place to stay and will definately be returning there soon. nothing
Excellent host/hostess. V comfortable room
Very pleased with the staff approach. Also the cleanliness and service was top notch! I would recommend this B&B to everyone.
very warm welcome on arrival, staff first class, very clean & freindly, good location breakfast served 8-9
Friendly and welcoming, very clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast.
Excellent location, friendly and helpfull staff. Room felt slightly tired for the price we paid
The hotel was very comfortable and clean the staff were very pleasent The weather
Friendly and efficient staff. Great location with lovely views over the bay. Decor is rather dated.
pleasant receptionists,Goos sized room. Lack of heating in bath room meant that towels did not dry and uncomfortable bathing or showering.
Great location-good parking-nice comfy rooms
Excellent food good staff really enjoyed None
The location, cleanliness and freindliness of The Staff. Very attractive decor. The room was freezing on arrival and the heating was not easily controlled.
Staff good, food good Outstanding Sea view was the description on the booking, it was only a glimpse of the sea as room was sideways to it, beds very uncomfortable and small, perhaps because we booked one of the last rooms we got this top floor pokey room as some seemed to be larger and have better views Could not fault staff or the food but think it needs serious updating for this price
We were meeting friends and it was ideal spot
Comfortable, convenient and friendly - with parking, which is at a premium in Tenby Nothing to say here
Large clean rooms. Peaceful environment. Beautiful old house with many lovely features. On arrival the staff were disinterested and we were not offered help with luggage nor shown any of the facilities. This did not bother us, but might put others off. Also breakfast wasn't great, but where is it?
I can sum this up by saying that we have never returned to a Hotel because we have never found one that we really liked. We will certainly stay at this Hotel again if we ever return to the Tenby area! Nothing!
The situation of the house set in its own grounds in a village was an excellent base. The period details and atmosphere were interesting. Breakfasts could not be faulted. We were given excellent advice about places to visit. We would be very happy to visit again.
Beautiful setting; amazing building; fantastic room and gardens.
Alan and Jane were extremely friendly and helpful from the minute we arrived.Their hotel has a delightful old world charm ,is very quiet and surrounded by lovely countryside .Several beaches are easily reached by car and the hotel is well places for visiting the rest of Pembrokeshire - we even visited the Cardigan coast . Altogether a very restful experience .
Friendliness of proprietors, good food, position of House in a quiet village yet convenient for sea side and countryside. Nothing
Discrete but friendly, attentative staff who made our stay very relaxing and enjoyable Nothing detracted from our enjoyable visit
The four poster bed
Extremely friendly and helpful staff, beautiful surroundings, perfect relaxing break - Spa not needed! The bathroom was rather small and in need of an update.
The quietness and friendliness. Convenient for visiting attractions/beaches The general welcome could be improved as we weren;t shown any facility such as the TV lounge and when we did discover it, the heating wasn;t turned on and wasn;t very inviting.
The very warm welcome we had throughout from the proprietors.
Very nice hosts. The room/house was very quiet. Just ten minutes by car to Tenby. Room was nicely decorated.
located in a pretty village with easy access to the surrounding countryside and other attractions of Pembrokeshire. would have appreciated a fruit option at breakfast as I do not eat cooked food in the morning.
Good location- easy access to places of interest-literature available i n Guest House- good safe parking Limited choice of eating places for evening meal in actual village unfortunately I was not well so had to return home -thought £210 was steep for 2 nights stay!!!!!!
Comfortable clean room with an excellant breakfast. It was a pity we were unable to sample the evening meals provided when more guests are staying. The pub over the road however was a good substitute.
The hotel is welcoming and comfortable and the staff are very pleasant and helpfull. The position of the hotel overlooking the sea with private gardens is also very desirable. The separately run Carrington's restaurant was very disappointing although the staff were helpful; and pleasant.
The leisure facilities were one of the best things about the hotel (pool, spa etc) The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful, we were even able to check in early! The breakfast was also very nice-a good selaction!
That the hotel was relaxed and on the sea front
The hotel is in a good location with comfortable rooms and good facilities. I made use of the pool facility which was excellent. The good quality buffet breakfast set you up for the day. I had a non sea view room, which was the only one left due to late booking. There was some background noise from air con fans on the flat roof outside the room window, but this did not spoil the stay. I would use this hotel again.
Comfortable room, excellent pool, excellent lounge, parking. Room a little small
Friendly staff. Good food. Good facilities. Good location. Excellent spa facilities. The first room we had was a small double room, but when I mentioned this at reception the response was to immediately offer us a larger and more pleasant room.
friendly,clean and comfortable
Pleasant staff, good location, car park handy and good breakfast The room was rather small, (why only one chair?) and there was a noise all night we think from the boiler
that the sea was opposite the hotel
Friendly, clean, cheerful atmosphere. Nothing
Very comfortable, pleasant stay. Owners very outgoing and friendlyBreakfasts excellent and rooms clean and well ared for. The Bar. It does not open until 09.00 pm.
Very friendly service, fantastic choice of breakfasts & in an ideal location
We loved the area it was very restful the staff Maria and Nigel were excellent hosts, the breakfast was very good.
cleanliness and friendliness of owners
Guest house is very clean and owners are welcoming and friendly Misleading as to how far out of town it is,30 minute walk.Overpriced for a guesthouse.Walls very thin - you can hear everything from adjacent rooms.
Friendly hosts, nice food, good location for Tenby and Saundersfoot. The guest house was very clean,we hope to stay there again.
We were given a very warm welcome and were allowed to access our room before 3pm to deposit our luggage. At breakfast we were able to help ourselves to the cereals and fruit. Maria bought us soya milk to accompany the cereals which we thought was thoughtful. As a light sleeper I found the noise from the traffic coming from the road nearby distracting but did start to adapt gradually.
Clean, tidy and comfortable. The hosts are very helpful and full of good ideas of how to make the most of your stay.
Maria and Nigel were very accommodating. We were able to check in at 11am (normally 3pm) which allowed us to make the most of our day on the beach and meant that we didn't have to rush back. Breakfast was very nice. A good selection of cereal, juices and toast. Plenty of tea/coffee and a lovely cooked breakfast. Guest House not far from Tenby town and many other local attractions. .
Very nice and friendly people Our bedroom was seperated from the bathroom - but we understand we were a late booking and had the last available room on a Bank Holiday weekend. There was also an unpleasant smell in the bathroom - clearly they had plumbing problems because the bidet was not in use.
nothing room small, bathroom tiny, wash basin from cloak room very very dificult to wash and shave, toilet built into wall, etc etc,
The staff at the guest house were the most friendliest people we have met. The room was fab and the location couldnt have been better. The room was immaculate and we were very at ease there. Would definately recommend this guest house.
Great family run guest house and great value for money. Karen and Allan were really helpful with lots of useful ideas about the local area. Also picked us up from the train station even though we didn't arrive until after 9:30pm. Plus the cooked breakfast is really worth getting out of bed for. nothing - all was perfect
the great walks only the price of the room
clean and comfy hotel, good location. we will visit again.
Our hosts were very nice and the room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was delicious Not much apart from the bed was a bit hard
weather, location was great (100 to the sea), easy to find on the map and in real, staff members were really nice and helpful, the price was excellent nothing
The owners were very nice, but, it was a guesthouse, not a hotel. The bathroom was mineute. My partner had to sit sideways on the loo.The shower was slow running. The bed was uncomforable, espeically the pillows.
Breakfast Our bedroom door and the bathroom door was difficult to unlock from the inside.
Marlborough House Hotel is a comfortable and well positioned hotel beside the beach and all facilities. We had a welcome drink on arrival and our room was spacious and spotlessly clean with soap, shampoo, body lotion and conditioner. The cooked breakfast was more than adequate with a wide selection of cereals, fresh and tinned fruit. Highly recommended.
Mostly good 10 out of 10
The location was just right. We could walk into the town centre easily and we were very near the sea. The room was quite small. I think a chunk of the original room had been used to install a toilet and shower. The door to the bathroom/toilet didn't close properly
Breakfast could start a little later.
Very friendly staff and good breakfast
I could not fault the cleanliness of the hotel, nor the helpfulness of the staff, however, I found the decor truly vile, plastic flowers everywhere, depressing prints on the wall and the ghastly chemical smell of room 'fragrancers' which made me want to heave. However, I accept that would probably not offend most people. See above
The food was of an excellent standard and nothing was to much trouble for the staff. No bad points. No bad points. No bad points.
Friendly welcome, clean and well equipped room, easy near by parking (we parked on a side road which cost us nothing,) fantastic breakfasts! None
Pleasant small hotel with limited facilites Not able to provide vat receipt
