Good quality room Shuttle service a let down, some distance from airport, late arrival meant food a problem after 10.30
The facilities were excellent and my room was clean, spacious and well cared for in everyway. On the technical side the room was amazing, with a large flat screen TV showing a vast range of channels and a host of Films for a very reasonable €4.00 per day. Reception and Room Service could not have been better and the Airport Pick-up service was very good too. I would certainly recommend this hotel, but at the moment - without the food option - see below....... It was very difficult to find by car and its location was in the centre of a Business and Commercial Area, so the views were not good. I had booked with breakfast and because of the location I also opted for evening meals. this is where the hotel let itself down badly. There was only one member of staff on duty which was clearly not enough. Even so he disappeared for long stretches of time so that items ran out, and food under the warmer congealed almost beyond edibility. The Hotel Management need to thoroughly review this area if they are going to offer food, as this was the only area that was below 4 star level.
Clean, good location to IFEMA visitors. Not enough staff, bad isolation between rooms
Room was clean enough and there was a wi-fi. bad restaurant (not even a restaurant only buffet), no good service, no good bar.
Breakfast is very good and the dinner buffet is fine too. Only the shower room need some adjustment because the water came out so easy.
The personnel at the Front Desk were excellent. Welcoming, warm and patient. The buffet breakfast was sumptious. Excellent value for money I felt. The location at first as the hotel quite far from everything. But then on a curiosity trip to Torrejon de Ardoz (the nearest train station in the area), I was delighted by the lovely and reasonable yet modern shops, as well as the nice restaurants, the public square, the Semana procession and the quaint houses etc. I wanted to go back there again but alas, no time.
We were totaly satisfied with this hotel. The staff was extraordinary kind, polite, flexible and helpful. The buffest breakfast was well prepared with wide variatons, the only thing what we missed some greens, tomatoes. The coffe was surprisingly fine, not so strong of course. The fruit juices werent flooded with tap water as in many places. The location is far from everithing but the public transport is working and the hotel is easily accessible by car. The restaurant next to the hotel is perfect and before the main lunch time nobody is there to smoke. The is black shell is the best ever we eaten. We have definitely nothing to complain. Good value for the money.
shuttle service to and from airport, very helpful! also free internet, comfy beds
Excellent hotel at an excellent price. The van for the airport shuttle is small, so sign up early. New, nice and not expensive.
Very comfortable and ideal for Madrid Airport. Transfer also very reliable.
Friendly staff, free shuttle was on timeboth ways, very clean, very quiet. The buffets were awful. Tasted like processed or out of a box food. Not worth what you are charging. I would return but I would not eat here.
All very modern, friendly staff A little bit far from the airport, but they have a free airport shuttle service that is very good...
We toured Spain and stayed at 5 other hotels and hostels, and found this to be the best of them all. Providing the bufett was welcomed after a long day on the road
We stayed in Avant Torrejon for one night during our long trip. The hotel is close to the airport but you can sleep well and rest, because you don't hear anything.
Shuttle service,helpfull staff.
Comfortable, clean, free shuttle, value for money.
Freindly staff, great value, neat and clean.
The hotel was modern, clean and the staff was excellent.
The hotel was very modern, had all the amenities we needed and was very clean The location was nt quite where I would have expected it to be.It seemed to be in ore of an industrial area.
Close to Madrid Barajas Airport. Close drive to Madrid centre. Shopping mall nearby. There's no metro nearby.
comfortable rooms, adequate food area surrounding is not very developed
Very business friendly hotel. Free quenching water and soda after a long flight was much appreciated. No real privacy in washroom. Doors are not made to close...more like a swing door.
Very clean and friendly staff. After a long trip, the bath was very inviting and relaxing. For a non smoking room, the smell of cigarette smoke was most prevalent when the A/C was on..
Good to be so close to the airport, but there is absolutely nothing around it. We used it only between flights and it was a great value.
good quality room, good services, Hotel in a somewhat isolated position..Food is average quality and I would recommend eating out.
Room was fantastic for the price we payed 17 euro for 2 han and cheese sandwiches with gone off bread and no suce thought it was a bit steap.
Friendly staff Location and poor wi-fi signal
Very contemporary rooms, comfortable beds. One of the nicest rooms we stayed in. Selected because it was close to airport. We arived after midnight and left at 7:00 a.m. so had no chance to use any amenities other than the room.
modern rooms, free internet.
clean, very comfortqble room, great value, very good breakfast have to book shuttle in advance. when we got to airport, shuttle was in use and had to take taxi to get to hotel- clerk was not too helpful about any other choices- this was one of the reasons we stayed there.
Modern decor and excellent bathroom plus location next to the train station but not at all noisy Slight odour in room (maybe floor polish as the floor was wood effect)
Friendly staff, nice room, free internet pc use. Gloomy corridors, uncomfortable bar area.
quality of room furnishing very bad airport shuttle availability. Did not book it before my stay and paid 2 x 30 euro return for taxi. Thin room walls.
Good, modern room/bathroom, good design. Gym small but good enough for a general workout. Food barely acceptable. Too high priced for being outside of Madrid (Torrejon is a town of its own, separated from the Capital)
Nice hotel in a not so nice town
Pillow menu - nice soft pillows. Nice shower room. Hotel did allow us to swap our first dinner for breakfast the following morning as we were due to arrive too late to have dinner on our first night. Half board was actually evening meal only, which had to be taken in the cafeteria (not the room). Cafeteria was noisy (loud TV) & smokey. Curtesy bus not available weekday nights or anytime over the weekend. Poor lighting late at night made getting into our room diffucult. No trouser press or DVD player in our executive room.
I booked this hotel because of the free transfer which must be booked well in advance. We were picked up at the mini bus point outside terminal 1 and they returned us to the Airport at 4.30am the following morning. It was nice to have the stress of getting to the airport at that time of moring removed. An excellent service well done. The meal in the cafeteria was disappointing. I ordered a hot club sandwich with chips but it was cold when it arrived and my partner ordered a pasta dish which came when I was half way through my meal. When the pasta dish arrived it was shell fish with black pasta and my partner hates shell fish so he had to eat the rest of my cold club sandwich and I ate the pasta. An english menu would be useful
Nice rooms. Was not actually close to the airport, the cabbie said it was 20 km away. We arrived at 10 pm to the airport and we waited over an hour for the "free shuttle" which actually turned into a $55 cab ride once we realized the free shuttle was not coming.
Clean, comfortable, next to a few shops and restaurants, next to train/bus for Madrid centre No wifi in rooms. Internet based on cable connection - the cable was very short and had to sit next to television to use.
acessibilty,friendly staff room little small
Excellent stop over when travelling to the south. Very comfortable. Easy rail connection into Madrid No problems
modern, efficient noisy background music
I liked the hotel, it was clean, the staff were helpful. Unfortunately it was to far from where our friends live to suit us.
Although not really in Alcala it was a 5 minute drive to the old town
When I asked for tea to drink with my breakfast I was told there wasn't any. I can't believe a large hotel had no tea bags!
New and clean.
I stayed at the Kris Alcala in early June and found it a most enjoyable experience. The hotel is easy to find and there are a good selection of bars and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is modern and bright, the room was a good size, the bathroom was large. The breakfast was of .a very good quality with hot and cold dishes available. All in all,a very nice experience. A non-slip mat in the bottom of the bath would dispell any fears of slipping.
Good budget hotel with very polite staff. Breakfast was adequate but have had better
facilities good breakfast very expensive
The gentleman who attended us at the reception was very polite and acted in a very professional manner. He quickly took care of our needs regarding pillows and some small details in the room. As the hotel’s restaurant was closed he directed us to a very good Italian one in the proximity where we enjoyed an excellent meal. Torre Hogar had the restaurant closed on Saturday evening
Staff were pleasant and friendly, rooms were good and it is easy to find nearby street parking. Noyhing it fulfilled our expectations.
Location - but is was a business trip. Handy for the Torrejon railway station. But obviously there was a bit of noise through the night, but not that bad.
Hotel was clean and in good condition. About 20 minutes / 25 EUR by taxi from the airport. Rate was much lower than hotels downtown, which were all booked for our last night. Included breakfast on Sunday morning only started at 8 AM, so we had to skip it as we were leaving for the airport at that time. The hotel is relatively far from downtown Madrid (count EUR 35 by taxi) which is ok for one night or if you have to be in the area of the hotel, but not a good location if you want to visit Madrid.
The hotel staff. There was no shuttle service to the airport on Sunday. There was no bus to the airport at 6:30 am. The hotel manager drove me to the airport. There was no shuttle to the airport on Sunday. The hotel is next to the train tracks. You can hear the trains go by.
Wireless Internet Sometimes noise from the street carried into the room
Location of the hotel was not convenient for our purpose. Breakfast was not that good compared to similar hotels.
Free Wi-Fi, good restaurant Located between the main road and the train line, making it a little noisy.
It was very nice - clean, modern bathrooms, close to shops and amenities, but not close to the airport. I found it too far from the airport. It is a 30 Euros taxi cab ride. I misunderstood, or was misinformed, about there not being a shuttle bus. I thought there was one.
The staff were very friendly and spoke very good English. They were also very helpful whenever I needed directions or taxis. The hotel was not much to look at from the outside, but the rooms were a very good 3 star standard on the inside. The breakfast was was not what I was expecting. It would normally include cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, etc. but these were not provided. Just bread and butter. Beware that it is about a 20 minute walk to the centre. This can be quite annoying until I realised that there are very few hotels closer to the centre than this. I would have been nice to have an information pack in the room as well as an English tv station.
Handicapped Accessible and reasonable value for money The Staff while pleasant had a very poor command of english. The breakfast offered was a "joke"
All staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel and rooms were all very clean. Hotel very convenient for Madrid airport. Only food served in hotel is breakfast. There are bars nearby but surroundings might seem intimidating to some people, but we found staff in bars and shop nearby to be very welcoming and friendly.
The rooms were spacious with a brilliant shower in the bathroom. The bus stop was literally outside the door.
Friendly staff long way from rail station
Friendliness of reception staff Breakfast not great
easy to get to the centre of town need a better hairdryer
The receptionist are very frendly and able to communicate fairly in english The Hotel restaurant is not in service to provide meal for the guest also at the end of my stay the hot water in the bathroom seize to function
The hotel was in a good location just a few minutes (12) walk from the Town centre and I must say what a fanastic town centre Alcala de Henares is. I had no idea that I had chosen such a fantastic location! As other people have said the girls on the front desk are really really helpful. The hotel was clean, smart, and comfortable. The free wi-fi was great. The car park below the hotel was useful and I don't think over expensive at 9 euros a night - better than in the street. We used this hotel travelling down to Granada and on the way back. Being english I like my tea making facilities the hotel had no faciltites for this at all - in fact we found that none of the hotels we stopped at had these facilities so next time we will take a travel kettle. Mind you as a result we crossed the road and went to the bar in between the flats and had a couple of coffees and a lager for less than 5 euros plus a couple of tapas - completly spainish brilliant!
Clean, quiet, value for money Poor parking on arrival, leading to dragging luggage from a very gloomy underground garage and entrance thro' "the back door" More street signs needed - no easy to find.
everything - perfect location and hotel
location expansive for services
Beautiful old building in the centre of a lovely historic town. Staff were rude and had no concept of good customer service.
Cleanliness of the room, nice surroundings
The location in the historic centre of Alcala is excellent. Free wifi and a busy bar make this a good bet for a traditional central stay.
Great Location.Spacious rooms.Friendly staff. Although a very good breakfast it was a bit chaotic as only one person seemed to be in charge of breakfast and the attached cafe and bar which was very popular.
Proximity to Old town. Comfort of hotel. Lovely old bar. Friendly staff. Access to hotel. Car park 10 minutes away.
The hotel was very central to the town, with all amenities close by. The bathroom was exceptionally clean and the staff were approachable. The hotle was very good value for money, and I would happily stay there again.
hotel is close to center and main attraction (althoguh not properly a touristic city) Quality of breakfast was poor; room was a bit noisy as was on university square
The location was excellent. It was in the center of Alcala which is where most of the businesses were. The room had very uncomfortable beds and the room temperature was uncontrollable and extremely hot for our liking.
Comfortable and well presented room. Free non-alcoholic minibar. Reasonable fitness room for size of hotel (3 cardio machines, a collection of dumbells and a Turkish bath - access on request). Good choice/quality of continental breakfast items. Free Wi-Fi in lobby. The hotel location, next to the motorway, is over 45 minutes walk from the rail stations and the beautiful, old town centre of Alcala de Heneres (which is definitely worth a visit), although there is a local bus - number 7 - from the hotel to the town square (takes 20 minutes - €1 each way).
it wasn't an iron or iron service in the room or even in the hotel an a 4 star hotel should have it
I am familiar with the location Definitely need to add comfort to their beds. The beds are extremely hard and not comfortable. They need new mattresses.
it is a very nice hotel
I had 2 complaints 1) the start of the slope down to the garage is too accute as I grounded my car on going over it. 2) you should introduce a Pequeno desayuno for those that whant a little more than just a cup of coffee
The wireless internet is only available in the lobby. For internet in the rooms you must pay!
Very close from Alcalá center city and from Train station. Ii is very easy to reach the hotel.
free private parking far from the city center
Nice Hotel but far from City Center. Need to take a bus or taxi to get there. Only thing within walking distance is a shopping center. Location
New facilities, quiet, huge bed and very clean. Located next to a shopping centre.
Secure underground parking (there was plenty of room as we had a trailer). Next to a major supermarket. Size of room and very clean. We used this hotel on our trip to mojacar from the uk. (Our cost was €50 which included breakfast). We will use this site again and will use this hotel again on our next trip.
Bed was big and fit two people well!! No shuttle service to town at all even though location is far from the city centre.
Clean and modern place. The hotel is not at all - as was stated - in the centre of Alcala, but 5 kilometers away, next to a shopping mall. So not at walking distance.
this is the second time we have stayed on our way to mojacar and just as good as the first for:- next to motorway, plenty of underground secure parking, value for money, next to supermarket, comfort and standard of the hotel. will stay again. ps puts the french hotels to shame.
The receptionist was able to direct us to the hotel (by phone) from a different part of the city, after the internet address was wrong. Room and en-suite were excellent.
Very comfortable. A little out of Alcala de Henares. Useful as a base. Staff very helpful.
Staff were easy to approach, even though I am not fluent in Spanish
The room seemed to be recently renovated, nice modern design. The restaurant was opened until late and the restaurant's staff had good suggestions. I had wanted a hotel near Madrid airport. Hostal Torrejon is actually quite far away (15 minutes by car) and their shuttle service ends at 22:30. Si if you have arrive late, you will have to take a taxi, which adds to the price.
nothing. neutral. yes, the electricity went off from 12.30am to 5.30am. Why? It's not afghanistan!
Nice hotel. Modern, clean, spacious room. Pleasant, helpful staff. On the same cercanía line as Alcalá de Henares, so it was easy to pass a few spare hours in Alcalá. The hotel has a free shuttle service to the Madrid airport, however it did not start running early enough for me to catch an 8:00 a.m. flight, so I had to pay 30 Euros for a taxi ride. I had chosen this hotel because of its reasonable rate and its free shuttle service, but the taxi ride negated the reasonable room rate.
hotel staff and cleanliness of my room
The Hostal Torrejon is a good hotel, we didn't have any problem about the rooms or service. If you don't have to go to the center of Madrid, it's a good choice. It's far away from the center and inconvenient for public transport and in uninteresting location.
I booked the hotel because it had a shuttle bus to and from the airport. However, this was not a 24 hour service and I ended up having to pay another 30 euro for a taxi to the airport. I would have stayed at another hotel if I had known this
Beautiful design of rooms, wonderful sense of space and very friendly staff. The price / quality ratio was very good.
Ultra modern and very near for sightseeing.
It was a nice modern hotel
Excellent location, close to all historic sites so easy to walk around. Car parking was ample in locked garage. Good selection of food in the cafeteria. No
Very quiet place with a beautiful view. The golf course looked very nice too, though I didn't have opportunity to play. the swimming pool opens too late in the morning (11:00 AM) and *WAY* too early at night (7:00 PM???). It made it impossible for us to enjoy the amenity, since we were in Madrid most of the day.
It's situated in the center of Alcala de Henares, it's clean and quiet, it's perfect if you just need a place to sleep and have a rest after shopping, sightseeing, the price of the room was fair in my case. no
Very friendly staff (not sure if they spoke English), let us leave our bags there before and after check-out. No frills but great value for a place to stay in Alcala that is 5 minutes from the Plaza de Cervantes.
The hostal had a really nice atmosphere
The staff were very helpful & friendly, the location was really good: central yet quiet, the wifi availability and the price for a double room was very reasonable.
The staff was great, I came from a very stressing flight at 2 a.m. being ripped of by taxi drivers at Barajas Airport and the owner of the hostel was so kind and helpfull that the whole situation turned positive. was really the best it could happen that day for me.
This was clean and the staff members were so kind, and there was free wifi, and the breakfast was fine as well. Also the candies which the staff put on the bed was delicious. I love it =] The shuttle between the airport and the hotel cost me 10 euros which is a little bit expensive when compare to the bus outside the metro of barajas station to the hotel for which just cost 1.65 euros, this is the no.211, and also takes only 15-20 mins to the the hotel from the station
I wish organizing the
very freindly staff helpfull and you get what you pay for location
Good service, clean rooms, briilliant staff and value for money- Great extra services like Parking and airport transfers and pick ups. Breakfast could have been better!
Hotel was very clean and staff tried their best to help us The hotel is not in a central area hence you need to take the hotel bus to go to the metro or airport. However the hotel bus was very efficient
breakfast was a bit meagre- toast, juice and coffee
The owners were so helpful...going out of there way to be accomodating. The hostel was very clean and there was parking. It was very convenient to the airport. The area it was in was industrial...not many places around to eat dinner.
This Hotel offered convenience to Airport for early or late flights and airport shuttle (charged 10 Euros) which was most needed for my dawn flight. The accom is of very high quality and standard and rates with the best out there. WIFI in rooms and throughout hotel (free) was another blessing which is essential these days. Sadly there is little or no transport links to this hotel and nearest metro was Barajas, followed by long taxi ride to it. Free airport shutles could easily address this point however.
Stayed for only about 8 hours between two flights but it was perfect for that. Driver picked me up at the airport and returned me the next morning. The hotel was very clean and quite nice for the incredibly reasonable price. Would highly recommend for quick layovers with a one night stay needed. Very little English spoken by the staff
free parking was a plus, resturant was pleasant. no non-smoking rooms,
Very friendly staff Breakfast not very good. Please don´t use bimbo bread.
The hotel promotion pictures are old and misleading. The hotel is dark, dingy and not terrribly clean. The rooms reeked of cigarettes and the managers answer to our complaint about the 1 st room was to move us to another room, but only after spraying an obnoxiously sweet deodorizer to mask the tobacco odor. What a dive. The hotel also advertises being only 15 minutes from the airport, but upon check-in we were informed to leave an hour. Ended up taking more than 2 hours due to rush hour traffic and we missed our flight. We generally stay in budget minded hotels, but would not recommend that anyone stay here!
The bedrooms were clean and bedding decent. Bathroom gave me a good shower which is very important to me. Nothing. I thought it was great.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Front desk manned 24 hours. Free off-road car parking. 20 minutes walk from Alcala centre. This did not worry us in the slightest, but could be an issue with children or the elderly.
A very spacious, comfortable room. Welcoming and helpful staff. Good location, free parking and wifi. Very good price for the standard of accommodation and service.
The Hostel is in excellent location, and the ambient is really nice (in fact far better than what I expected for a 2-star hostel!). Breakfast is excellent too. The hostel personell does not speak english. This isn't such a big issue as it may seem (I managed to get my breakfast anyway, and it was very good), but it's good to know this in advance.
Central location. Check-in friendly and efficient. Car-parking well accommodated. Free WiFi connection worked well. Well-maintained and clean accommodation For two northern Europeans, room and bed somewhat small. Quality of food and service in restaurant somewhat deficient. Breakfast (1 croissant, 1 cup of coffee, glass of orange juice) for Euros 7.50 somewhat over-priced - even when compared with Paris. Availability of tv stations - apart from two German language commercial stations, no foreign language stations.
Very nice rooms for about 50 Euro. The big problem was to find a taxi want drive to the hotel from the airport. The distance was too short and no buisness for them.
close to the airport; receptionist helpful, kind, professional. not very good phonic isolation.
the hotel is cheap, the hotel staff was very friendly the distance to the airport is more than 2,5 km ,the taxi was 25 euro's and when we arrived there was no shuttlebus
Close to airport Dogs barking at night - constant and loud
Good location close to the airport. Quiet with nice bathroom.
it was nice. and had good food and was very helpful
nice interior, good service, quiet place (despite airport is located very close), pretty architecture of building not mutch cafe or restorants near the place, industrial areas around there
Nobody can speak english or french, it was good to practice spanish !
friendly English-speaking staff
The quality of the room was excellent, cleanliness, comfort etc. A high standard room. Also the staff were very friendly. The lack of refreshments available..eg no restaurant or bar open, just vending machines for snacks etc. Also the location from the airport was not what we expected.
