Tremezzo Hotels

Staff very eager to please Sadly our well behaved dog was restricted to room and non-public areas. He was welcome in the village terrace bars and surely could have been also welcome in the hotel casual terrace bar. We can find hotels more accepting of dogs. Hence my non-recommendation below.

The only good thing about this hotel in all honesty was the location in Bellagio. First of all this is a rather pricey place. That is fine if the hotel is worth it. 5 * this is not, I can't even push to a 4 *. This was supposed to be the best hotel in Bellagio so we chose to stay here for our friends' wedding in Varena. The hotel staff was cranky - not a smile on anyone there, if you ever could find someone! I felt like I was in the movie The Shining. The hotel was very depressing, really in need of renovation. It smelled old and musty-- there were lace doilies with plants throughout the hotel -- I felt like we were staying with Grandma! Electric outlets in our room didn't work, nor did the safe. Every noise could be heard in the hotel, doors slamming, echoes. I do not recommend you stay here.

close to ferry & bus stops, reception staff were helpful dining staff were glum, tired room decor, tiny pool compared to no. of guests, mattress needed replacing, broken sink, cigarette burn on bed cover.

the vue the staff: poor reception, poor knowledge of english or french, not friendly. I would'nt recommend this hôtel

Convenient location close to lake transportation. Very small pool and poorly equipped (no towels/few lounge chairs), no car parking on site.

Very cetral for Lake trips Had to rush meal and leave the restaurent at 9.30 pm.on first evening-did not have evening meal in restaurent thereafter.

Great location - beautiful views of the Lake and right on the main street with lots of great restaurants, shopping and attractions Breakfast - the buffet was large but looked dirtly and not well presented.

Good location for Ferry and Buses

Proximity to boats and shops with a reasonable and convenient restaurant attached. Breakfast. Plenty of choice but awful coffee, a toaster that did not toast, boiled eggs hours old, scrambled eggs and bacon watery and mostly cold.

Varenna is a beautiful place and hotel location is perfect This is the most overpriced hotel we ever stayed in. Poor service, hotel facilities and our room, very limited breakfast were not worth the money we payed.

It has a good location and must have been a lovely hotel in its day. The hotel is old and dated.It was expensive and yet the carpets need to be replaced,the hairdrier was brocken,bed linen was a bit shabby.

Location,fantastic view from the room,friendly and clean Room was gloomy,bathroom was small and shower was tiny.breakfast fruits were not ripe.

A great position, get a lake facing view

Breakfast was good, yet served in a room away from the spectacular lake view which was a bit puzzling since that view is what they promote on their website as a selling feature. Bed was very hard and pillows thin and hard - I was glad we were only booked for 1 night on it. Given the star rating of the hotel, the bathroom toiletries & paper supplies were very cheap compared to other similarly rated hotels we stayed in this same trip.

Great staff and lovely views over Lake Como. Simply furnished but adequate rooms with comfortable beds The breakfast croissants had jam inside! Not too good, plain would be better

Swimming pool not in use until June - big disappointment.

The poolside room was lovely (big, great shower). The location on the hill away from the traffic was perfect. The staff had great tips on where to eat and helped us with planning our transport. The breakfast buffet was very basic for the price. Some fruit and eggs would help.

Helpful "manager". Local Trattoria. Wooden floors everywhere made it noisy. Could have done with new soap etc. during visit. First night had some noisy guests which when coupled with "echo"/door closures delayed sleep for a while.No previous reviews.

Good price, beautiful view of the lake from our room and private balcony. The interior was a little over the top. And the "hot breakfast" was only server for a couple of hours in the morning.

we had a very nice room that was larger and much more elegant than we expected for the money - a cut above other rooms! breakfast was dreadful - not at all worth the money. orange jiuce wasn't juice, coffee came out of a self service machine and tasted horrible, hardly anything to eat - I would only recommend this hotel if you pay more for the lakeside view and larger room

We liked the location and the oldness of the hotel. The room view of the lake was splendid. The rooms were very small, and the bathrooms smell bad.
