Pros: The free hot breakfast!
Pros: Recently updated...clean...nice breakfast options...convenient to shopping and restaurants.
Cons: Pool was out of order...had been promising 5 yr old and 9 yr old for hours on car ride that they could swim when we got there...advanced notice via email or text for a major amenity being down would have been good customer service. Also, no upgrade available as a customer service apology because I booked through Expedia/Kayak...even though a suite WAS available.

Pros: Sheets were clean.
Cons: I booked at one rate and had to pay more than advertised. I reserved on booking.com and got a total price including taxes and fees. When I got there, the manager had left a note with a price that was higher. The lady at the desk was nice and tried to reach the manager but said she could do nothing about it.
The room itself was not terrible, despite the non fitted sheets coming loose during my tossing and turning, the cockroach traps and taped together television.
It was actually fairly decent, considering the original price I had booked for.
Ps, bring your concealed carry.

Pros: No water pressure, faucet in tub dripped the entire time, staff at check in was friendly and at check out was less than cordial. I will not be staying at Howard Johnson again in Aiken, SC would rather stay in a different hotel.
Pros: Third stay
1st two out of eggs
3rd stay out of sausage
Get enough food ordered to feed your guest!
There weren't that many!
Cons: Inadequate protein
Pros: Cheap price
Cons: Smoke filled dirty room. Non smoking room not available. Fixtures old.
Pros: Good hotel. Football game was a little loud on Friday night, but not too bad. Otherwise the hotel was peaceful. It is a little dated but maintained decently. Hotel staff was helpful and friendly
Pros: The room was clean and neat, but hotel is an older establishment. The area was quiet at night. Located close to food, gas, and most stores you will need. Staff was friendly and courteous. It served our purpose. We were only there to bath and sleep.
Cons: The wall paper was peeling in our room. The pools was closed for an unknown reason. We had hoped to jump in the pool in the evening before we retired. The breakfast was good (Waffles, sausage and round egg things, as well as cereal, toast and apples only) when they were available. The management would only put out 6 or 8 each of sausage and eggs at a time. Unknown when they put more out. The second day they were out of everything except the waffles, toast and waffles. Would like to see more food available and more types of fruit, especially peaches as they were in season. I guess you get what you pay for, but if you advertise the breakfast, make it so.
A stay at Hotel Aiken places you in the heart of Aiken, steps from Aiken Center for the Arts and 7 minutes by foot from St. Mary Help of Christians Church. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk.
Pros: I've been staying at the hotel Aiken for over four years on business. The staff is always nice and helpful, the rooms are clean, the location is prime - several of the best places in Aiken to eat are a two minute walk - and there is a bar attached.
Cons: Being a historic hotel means the building and furnishings are also 'historic'. Don't expect the Ritz quality, you'll just be disappointed. If a little more care was taken to updating the bones of this hotel - painting, new carpet, etc... - this would be a wonderful place to stay.

Pros: Close to highway interchange. Easy to get to Augusta.
