The long time at the check out in the morning. A four star hotel should have teo reception staff at this busy period. Also it is a long way to the bottom car park with your luggage.
Wonderful hotel great food and service.
Staff were very good and attentive Overall, hotel was fine but felt a bit "dated"
Comfortable. Friendly The Restaurant could be better both for Breakfast and Dinner. The Orangery/Bar/Lounge menu and food were better and better value
it was quiet and convenient car parking
The warmth and friendliness Not really
Decent sized bedroom and excellent bathroom N/A
Fantastic room - huge and luxurious.
Quiet with plenty of staff on hand, most of whom made you welcome. Bar closed at odd times, like 2/30 on Friday afternoon, just as I arrived and wanted to relax with the paper and a glass of wine.
Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable and the staff on the reception desk were extremely efficient. I wish we had stayed longer!!
Use of the swimming pool and spa facilities - good opening hours. Excellent customer service.
Restaurant was good. All staff helpful There needs to be a lift to the 1st floor.
Friendly staff Breakfast Room staff not very efficient in maintaining food at the buffet nor for delivering toast to the table.
the pool, the food, the location...good local bus service. Comfortable beds.
On our arrival, reception did not have a record of our on line booking but efficiently dealt with the matter. The Breakfast Manager on Sunday was particularly friendly. It looked very much as it did when we stayed there 10 or 11 years ago and whilst clean was a bit tired and dated.
Upgraded room Bar and seating area very basic and open - seemed more like part of entrance and reception area.
helpful staff, enjoyed the swimming pool
bar and dining room staff were excellent
Quiet location Problem with internet service in room. Had to change rooms. Staff dealt with this very well.
peaceful room #102
Efficient lift. Pleasant staff. Comfortable bed. Clean. Difficult to use toilet flush. Sink stopper unhygenic system. Table or shelf needed to boil kettle and place cups etc. Difficult access to coat hangers
Hotel decor was good & everyone was friendly & helpful. No
Friendly staff Shower needed repairing
Friendly staff, good restaurant and service . Good location for town centre. Comfortable, at home, feeling.
Breakfast was lovely and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We booked a triple room expecting a double and a single bed, we got a double and a camp bed. It was a little small for an adult.
Spacious double room for single occupancy, excellent restaurant and service with friendly efficiient staff. Highly recommended
Easy access to town centre Look forward to the 1st july in bar area
Friendly staff & helpfull staff
Friendly atmosphere, comfortable and spacious room. Ideally located, close to all ammenities. We would prefer room only as do not eat a large breakfast, preferring a coffeee start..
The rooms looked dated. The room booked was stated as overlooking the common - the room overlooked a car park and another building not the common.
Courteous and efficient staff despite the Hotel being very busy the evening i arrived. Though the room was bijioux it contained everything required for an over night stay. Lovely view of the gardens. Both The evening meal & breakfast were excellent.
Nice ambience & good food Room was musty and pokey - shower did not drain.I rang reception and the bistro for 5 mins each to order room service - at 9:30pm and no-one picked up
Comfort and the feel of luxuriousness. Many great details. Difficult to find parking.
We came down for my daughers's 21st Birthday. She had always wanted to visit Hever Castle and as it was a special occasion I wanted to book us into somewhere a little special. We loved the restaurant and food and the decor. Sadly we weren't able to stay for very long, but would definitely recommend it
We have stayed at several Hotel Du Vin's throughtout the country because of the ambience and the boutique nature. We enjoyed our stay immensley but would only comment that for £145 a night (4 nights stay)that breakfast would be included.
Great breakfast-was worried about partner's reaction to a "continental" breakfast- he is still going on about how good it was. Parking plenty of it and close to accomodation. Nice rooms and breakfast area. Convenient position, easy to find, lots to do/see nearby in a lovely area None
Staff friendly and helpful, room clean and comfortable and quiet. Bathroom had shower but not bath. Ate at the restaurant and food was good. Buffet breakfast fine. In all no complaints and seemed pretty good value to me. The only downside to the hotel is that you are outside of tunbridge wells here so need to drive in and out.
Our stay at the Camden Arms was excellent. We can not fault it in any way.The staff were very professional and yet very friendly and welcoming. The room we had was beautiful. N/A
Quiet room, good breakfast and the old pub, which forms part of the hotel.
Nice sized room, with good facilities.
Although we arrived late in the day after a wedding, the room was very comfortable and homely.
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Did not spend enough time there!
Clean, friendly, lively hotel, but very traditional feel too. The staff were outstanding - we arrived late on Saturday evening after the kitchen had closed, but even without us asking, they offered to provide sandwiches and tea or coffee. The room, although small, was beautifully appointed with luxury touches. We were there for an event at a local castle, but hope to go back next year for a longer stay when we will use the hotel as a base to explore local stately homes and the countryside. Highly recommended. Very minor - it was a shame that the shower was not as strong as it could have been. Nothing else!
Nice quiet clean room away from the road. Plenty of car parking Very popular at lunchtime suggested they are doing something right. Disappointingly small room, very dim lights in the bathroom, bed sagged in the middle, too soft for us, not a good nights sleep. Strange 'modern but baronial tudor' furniture in a newly built room.
My room was clean and tidy with a modern ensuite and the usuals TV, good hairdryer etc. The breakfast was good and the laid out nicely. I ate in the pub during the evening, the food was good and as expected
convenient location it would have been good to have a kettle in the room.
Good location for where i needed to be. Rooms were too small especially the bathroom, only a continental breakfast was available and a very limited choice of meals for dinner.
Very clean and and friendly. Excellent place to stay. nothing
Great, friendly staff. Nice decor, and nice guests
It is a very attractive and stylish hotel. Great location near many things. Our room was very good sized. My one recommendation would be to include more shelves or a dresser in the room.
It was nice to have a larger than normal room, very airy with a handy desk, etc No bath, nice shower etc though.
Stayed for one night due to a wedding at the High Rocks. Location excellent for central Royal Tunbridge Wells. Style of hotel was boutique and ideal for a short stay. Breakfast was continental.
Room decore was nice No inroom facilities, poor menu (excuss as because they are in the middle of town you can go out to reasturants), no cooked breakfeast available, staff helpfulness was poor (was taken to the lift and left to my own devises to find the room)
It would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities
The hotel was very peaceful and relaxing. There was nothing we didnt like, but would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in our room.
Nice restaurant and pub down below. Heating was nonfunctional and it was snowing. Wallpapers peeling in my room. Typical english old town pub house with hotel attached, and not properly modernized.
The receotion staff Heating in the bedroom
I loved the old building. The hotel restaurant was not open on Saturday night.
It was charming and the room was comfortable. Liked the fact that you could still get two rooms with connecting doors. Very rare these days Room 36 had a bath and shower that wasn't great. Bath water ran out before you were finished and the shower kept sliding down.
convenient and enjoyable n/a
Comfort of room, quality of food in restaurant, ease of parking
the location some of the rooms are dated and expensive, they put you in rooms above the function room so lots of noise - music, we had to move rooms 3 times however the staf were helpful
the location on the high street plenty to do in tonbridge and nice atmosphere in the hotel Only thing is they need toi update the televisions in the rooms, they are so out of date.
Staff Pleasant. Breakfast lovely. Rooms are very dated. No heating in bathroom (in fact im sure the towel rail is too close to bath not conforming to electrical regulations!) Poor heating in room. Plumbing dated (very poor flow and leaked). Toilet roll has no rail. Tv poor picture. Floor Squeeks. Bed coverings old and worn. Charges for internet!
It was central to Tonbridge, no food on Saturday though, would have liked to eat there. Room small but adequate, bed low to the floor. Staff were excellent though. No real problems as we thought value for money, not a high end Hotel though. The decor was a bit tired.
friendy staff and comfort and cleanliness of the room
Lovely room and en-suite faciliteis
The room was clean, staff generally helpful, breakfast good. Well organised It was rooms above a pub, and I did feel that. On arrival, we were to some extent left to our own devices. A little bit more of a welcome and support in the first 30 mins would do wonders.
Small, friendly pub offering accommodation. Same price as the "big chains" but offering a much more personalised service. Room was comfortable and modern with great shower. Breakfast was excellent. Just a little thing really had lovely shower gel and body lotion, but didn't have shampoo and conditioner.
Spacious rooms decorated in a simple, modern and uncluttered style - furniture was solid and decent quality. Large bathroom with well equipped stand-alone shower and large bath. Room was light and airy with none of the shabbiness so often associated with british hotels. Had been concerned that noise from restaurant/bar would be an issue. But room was well insulated from this - so much so that we were very surprised when we went down to the bar to find it already very busy with people having dinner. Food served (we had dinner, not breakfast) was great. Nice outside seating that can be enjoyed in the summer. A little more information (signage) on arrival as to where to check in would have been helpful (particularly if bar area is busy).
The food was excellent, the Aussie wine was rubbish The Aussie wine was rubbish and they wouldn't change it.
Third visit in a short space of time - doesn't disappoint
Room was superb. None . one minor point .no telephone in room .but with mobiles who needs one.
well decorated, clean, new furniture. large room.
We love Carpenters because it is has a relaxed atmosphere, excellent service, super bedrooms and wonderful food. We did have a problem on the Saturday night when someone who had obviously had too much to drink was able to climb up onto the flat roof/ledge outside our window. This made me rather nervous as there are no phones in the rooms and I think therefore that security needs looking at.Everything else here is so good.
We chose the Premier Inn Tonbridge because it was a 15 minute walk from a friends house where she was celebrating her 60th birthday party. We thought the 24hr reception would be useful if we wanted to come back very late. We had travelled up from Exeter. The room and en suite bathroom was clean. The bed was large and comfortable. There was a tv but only one comfortable chair although the room was large enough to have two. The fan in the bathroom was activated by the light but even after the light had been switched off it took twenty minutes to turn off and was very noisy. We booked the room about 10 days before the date we were staying but three days before, we had a phone call to say that they had just been informed from the chef that because the Sunday was Mothers day they were not doing cooked breakfast (which we had booked and paid for) and that continental breakfast on this day would be from 7.00 to 9.00 rather than the normal time of 7.00 to 10.00. When we checked in we asked for a wake up calll at 8.15 am because of the earlier breakfast. We came in at 2.30 am slept well and woke at 9.15am no wake up call! And so missed breakfast altogether. Young man in reception was apologetic and assured us we would get refunded for the breakfast. He also produced a paper a4 street map and directed us to MacDonalds for breakfast !!!!!
Clean but basic. Friendly staff. Tepid water Cold breakfast Expensive for what I got. Paying for internet is a rip off
Very easy parking, easy check in and friendly staff. Walls a bit thin so potential for noise during the night.
It was very warm and comfortable and the staff were friendly and polite.
Hotel was ideally located for ease of access to town and to the A21
Comfortable bed Freeview tv rubbish
Receptionsit was very helpful. No air conditioning in the room and therefore quite noisey outside.
No good points Not a good experence told didnt have room I booked, noisey, restraunt in pub service was bad whilst checking in my 3 year old wanted a toilet we was told there is one in the room once we checked in he nearly wet him self very bad customer service
Clean premises; friendly staff and being able to check in early (as requested). Easy road access to various towns nearby.
Excellent facilities and clean room. Love the power shower.
How the receptionist bent over backwards to make our stay as good as possible Computer delay on booking, faulty kettle, mattress too soft
Competitively price hotel in a suitable location. You know what you are going to get when you stay at a Premier Inn Noisy delivery men (to the hotel) early in the morning.Very mean with tea and coffee provisions.Internet costs too high for longer staying guests.
The staff were polite and helpful, and made our stay in Tonbridge pleasureable. Even when we arrived at the wrong Premier Inn, the staff gave us directions and a map to get to the correct hotel. There could have been more pillows, as all my family usually use 2 and even with the spares there were not enough.
Debbie at reception was exceptionally good - both on the phone with queries and in person - please personally thank her. The other - "non English" speaking staff on the phone were not helpful at all - we wanted to extend 1 of the rooms for another night - only Debbie was able to do this. The lady seating people at breakfast was efficient to the point of abruptness - the same information could have been given in a gentler way! maybe more people skills needed. The rooms were fine - shame we didnt know about the £29 deal as one of the rooms was for 2 nights!
Young man on reception was very pleasant and cheerful Beef eater bar next door was freezing
Very comfortable bed, plenty of space in the room, Very helpful staff and a good breakfast. No land line phone in the room-I didn't have a mobile with me.
we had a disabled room that was lovely and large, clean and well equiped the breakfast finished too early for us - my aunt is disabled and a 10am finish would have been more suitable
Very friendly and helpful staff, cleanliness good
good location, decent pub next door, good size room, warm and pleasant despite being a non smoking hotel there was quite a strong smell of cigarettes in the corridor
It had everything I needed. Could not get booking for dinner at restaurant. Breakfast at 8 is a bit late if you have to be somewhere at 9.
