Great location / view of the mountains from the room's balcony. Nice, comfortable bed. Bathroom.
proximity to the ski slopes. Ski-in/out. Also located in the centre of the village so convenient for shops/bars, etc. Friendly staff. room was basic but clean and warm. Walls beween rooms a little thin. No minibar/coffee/tea making facilities. TV had only 2 channels. Merited 2 stars in my book rather than the 3 advertised.
relaxed and friendly atmosphere
Great location near ski lifts and off to edge of town so noise was minimized. Stunning views from room balconies. Helpful staff, nice pool, wifi available in lobby. Breakfast was exactly the same every day; some variation would have been welcome.
The staff were really friendly and the hotel was very clean and well positioned. It was very overpriced for what it was. On the second day there our beds were not made up during the day and on the third day there our toilet paper was not replaced - we did address this with reception and it was immediately replaced.
Excellent value for money evening meal Party of School children
Great location, both for ski slopes and village. Friendly, helpful staff. Great crepes served 4-5.30pm in the lounge area - delicious and most welcome after a long day skiing. Good facilities - pool, sauna and masseures available - just not enough time to enjoy them! We had an an early arrival 12noon and our rooms were ready (on request) and an early check out 6am with no problems gaining access to an early breakfast. Breakfast was good, didn't have dinner there, but restaurant always seemed to be busy. Hotel looks nice from the outside (recently reburbed I believe). The reception area is bustling and welcoming, but the bedrooms could do with updating, especially the bathrooms - and a curtain or blind would have been useful in the toilet and bathroom, as 1 of our 3 rooms was overlooked by the rear ski slopes! Bedrooms small and the 2 south facing ones we booked were very hot - not a problem if you're just sleeping/showering there, but wouldn't like to have to spend much more time in the bedroom! Glad I was there with my 5 girlfriends and not my husband!!
good location, nice pool/jacuzzi facilities walls exceedinly thin, noise levels unacceptable.
The location of the hotel was exellent The hotel is looking very tired and dated
Good location. Right outside ski lift and local shops, bars and restaurants. Small rooms. Not cleaned properly every day.
Excellent food and great location in the resort. The rooms are small, the bathroom is tiny and the wifi was very spotty, and did not work at all in the rooms. In 2011, when people sometimes have to check in and work when on vacation, not having wifi in the rooms was really a huge inconvenience. For this reason alone, I probably won't be able to go back, despite the fact that I loved the food and liked the hotel.
The food, we had breakfast and dinner, is very good and the staff very friendly. Every evening there was a very good menu and if you didn't like something it could be changed. We had the Superior Room. Easy access from and to the slopes from. Great hotel!! There is(was) some missinformation on the booking.com website about a discount for this hotel. There is no discount for this hotel. No fault of the hotel.
Food and location in Les Deux Alpes
Views were great, breakfast was great, seems to cater well for large groups Wifi not great in room and large groups(could also be positive). Staff a little reserved....
Location and service
The view from my room looking south across the Alps was simply stunning. All the staff were really friendly and made us feel welcome. Plenty of food available for breakfast which was cool as we were on a cycling trip!
Graet hotel would recommend the hote. Wouid have been nice to have tea and coffe facilities in the room.
A good sized room, very comfortable and friendly staff.
the views out of the suite
welcoming reception, comfortable bedroom and public areas ,good swimming pooland leisure facilities standard of breakfast very poor, drinks in the bar expensiveand beer flat.
Nice room, close to the slopes, easy of parking, friendly staff It would have been nice if the pool had opened earlier, say 7.30 so we could swim before we went to ski.
Clean, very good views of the mountains, quiet & helpful. . No kettle in the room. We like to drink tea....lots of it ! Especialy after triathlons !
The breakfast was sub-standard.
comfort rooms have really nice view and good interiors
Nothing really, its an OK place. They want to charge you 15 euro, if you have a meal in your room.
The views from the room and hotel in general were awe inspiring, the independant attached restaurant was first rate with an excellent choice of menu and also served a good breakfast.
Quiet location, room just refurbished, welcome on arrival,Restaurant attached and a carpark.Security coded entry for easy access.
Staff very friendly. Bar was very small and not always open.
Incredibly helpful owners - Yves went out of his way to help with the logisitics of our travel there and personally took us to help with bike rentals in town. Attached restaurant had amazing food and very friendly service too. Beautiful location!
Rooms were clean, views were nice, staff were friendly, restaurant food was good Location was not good for après ski as it's not in the resort and there are only 3 taxis working in alpes d'huez. The hotel was locked when we arrived and so we were not able to drop our luggage off and head to the resort. Noone was picking up our phonecalls and so we ended up standing in the hall for 2 hours before the receptionist arrived and subsequently we lost a day of skiing!! Not a good start to our holiday!
Very friendly staff ad good location 2/3's way up Alpe d'Huez. Great hotel for the price. Quite a basic small room, particularly the bathroom however comfortable enough.
An extremely pleasant hotel in the most stunning of settings. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful and took the time to provide some excellent advice regarding he best places to ski in the area. The food was absolutely first class The only small complaint I would have would be the lack of tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.
Excellent food and great service with warm and friendly staff. It was a great value for money and we can definitely recommend this hotel.
The location in the alpes was perfect for out bike rides. We were able to access the classic climbs of the tour right from the hotel. Nothing, my expectations were exceeded in all areas.
Simply put we loved our stay at Le Cassini. We came for the Alpe D'Huez climb and I recommend all cyclists to stay here. The food was wonderful, the rooms charming, and the staff very friendly. You can't go wrong.
The owners were extremely helpful, food was delighful and the room was excellent. Rob and Dirk run a great place and I would happily stay there again.
The good things about the hotel are the hotel staff (they were very nice and helpful) and the food (the food was really excellent). On the other hand, the room was not very clean and there is absolutely nothing you can do in this village. You have to take a bus (15 - 25) minutes to reach Les Deux Alpes.
The hotel is one of those "little spots from heaven". It is very nice, you feel right at home, the food is superb and the service is excellent. They take you skiing in the morning and pick you up in the afternoon. For the after-ski the hotel has a very nice bar where you can have a drink while discussing daily events, while waiting for a superb diner.
The location is perfect for all high mountain sports & scenery. The breakfast & Dinner were included & the food was great. Rob is an excellent chef & all the staff were very friendly & helpful.
The hotel is well located at the top end of the ski resort (at the Vanosc end). It is opposite the public elevator that takes you down to the part of the village where you then walk (2 minutes) to the Diable chairlift. It is also next to a staircase that takes you up to the chairlift on the other side of the village, so you have easy access to both sides of the mountains. The hotel is also only a 5 minute walk from the bus stop (Drop Off point Number 4 on the coach company map). The hotel has a cellar storage room for skis and stuff with lockable cupboards to secure your skis/snowboard. There is also a ground floor door from the cellar direct to the street outside. The rooms at the front have a generous balcony. To get to the hotel reception you have to climb a set of outside stairs (or the internal stairs from the basement). Although I was staying on the ground floor (Reception Level) I noticed there was no lift to the upper floors so people with difficulty in climbing stairs may struggle. The hotel staff does help carry your bags to your room though. The hotel is located next to Smithy's Tavern so you should expect some singing in the early hours (around 0430 hrs!) as people leave the pub, but they quickly pass by.
There was somebody available at the reception at midnight to let us in at late arrival Far too expensive in regards to: size of the room - comfort -bathroom facilities
the hotel was warm, well laid out. nobody on reception at 4pm - maybe this is normal. i didn't receive a late key until after the second night.
Hotel is well located and staff are helpful. Hotel is very basic, bathrooms are tiny.
Charming staff, quiet location and great views Hotel restaurant was not open. We booked this hotel because of reviews recommending the restaurant. Had we known the restaurant was not open we would not have booked this hotel. Therefore we feel misled by 'booking.com' as our booking had cancellation charges and so we could not cancel, but were not informed by 'booking.com' that the restaurant would not be open.
Not elcoming at all When I attempted to book in after a long day at the wheel over the Grand route of the Alps, the receptionist chose to ignore me, and carried on with her chat on the phone, very irritating. 'Private' parking is in a corner of the public car park opposite. Hotel sign is all but fallen down, just about sums it up. In the morning we were so dissapointed we checked out having no breakfast. Manager didn't seem to care.
I did not liked anything about the hotel Small room , small bed , everything must be renovated
Good location, friendly staff High price for mediocre room that smelled musty
Great loctaion The bar closed at a different times every evening depending on the social life of the staff!
The service was superb, we had dinner there one night which was excellent and great value. The location for the slopes is excellent also. We would recommend this hotel as an excellent place to stay. i wouldn't recommend this hotel for families though, it's definitely a couples or group hotel.
Easy access, easy going. Please open the bar before 5pm...
The price and the location
The location was excellent. They were very helpful with our late arrival and spoke excellent English. They also did not require a week long stay as many other places in the area did. This had to be one of the smallest "family" rooms we have ever stayed in for the price. The breakfast was also very minimal even for a "continental" breakfast in Europe.
lovely friendly staff but the hotel was a little 'tired'
Amazing place, mazing people
The staff and service were brilliant. Has the typical french showers (no screen so you have to sit down while showering).
Immaculate service, including being friendly but not intrusive. Comfortable; very good food. Summer rates!
food, service, owner's kindness no standalone shower
Fabulous location. Staff very helpful and professional. Would highly recommend
I only wish that service from 5* hotels was as friendly and helpful as from this 3* one. The manager couldn't do enough for us - even running us to our transfer bus very early on our departure day. The rest of the staff followed his lead and this coupled with the all-inclusive nature of the hotel resulted in a superb ski holiday for our family of 4 (2 boys under 12yo). Both kids and adults mingled easily with other guests in the hotel bar which was packed every evening.
Ok. Let's have in mind that is supposed to be a 2 star hotel. Camille and David make you feel like you are at least in a 3 or 4 star hotel. Ouris is beautiful. Peacefull place, great to do practice any sport. Would recommended to anybody. Just try to rent a car before going there, since that public transportation is limited, only once a day... There was nothing I didn't like honestly.
Incredible location, friendly owner Rooms could be cleaner, also à pricelist of The drinks would be nice
Very nice staff. Fabulous mountain location with a view of Alp d'Huez, but off the main road to that (huge) resort. Basically the road leads to only this hotel, and a handful of ski chalets.
Friendly staff, access to ski lift
Cozy and good food. Needs fixing up. Room service was questionable.
Small, but friendly and clean Drive to hotel, roads!
I'm very enthusiastic about this hotel, the owner is from belgium, speaks dutch and although I made a mistake booking for 2 while being alone, the owner suggested to put me in a single room because this would be cheaper! The room was nice, the bed was big for a single bed. The food was very tasty and in every aspect the owner was very cooperative. The road to the hotel is narrow and driving it can be a nervous experience. In retrospect I wouldn't let that keep me from staying there, except maybe in winter.
Beds where very comfortable but bunk bed for young kids was a problem. Room was warmer than hotels in French normally are. Internetconnection saved our evenings because the hotel was far from any other activities with kids after dark. The location was a problem as driving on narrow mountain road in snow was quite adventure that We just did not want to do more than we had to. The hotel was noisy! Every step above our room or hallway echoed through wooden floors.
There was nothing about this hotel that we liked at all. The hotel owner was grumpy on arrival, the room was very basic, no tv, only 1 pillow between 3 children etc. The fitting of the room was outdated and in poor condition, electrical sockets broken and the bathroom was grimy and dirty. It was also noisy due to the thin walls. We had chosen the hotel as a quiet 2 night stop over on our way home from a stay in Venice and had paid almost the same for this hotel as the 5 star in Venice. When we decided not to stay for the second night the hotel owner became very aggressive and started to argue with us. We had to pay 50% of the second night in cancellation fees and missed breakfast because of the unpleasant atmosphere. do not stay at this hotel - it is worse than poor and very expensive.
