From Avignon you can take trips to the surrounding wine growing regions and attractions - Pont du Gard well worth a visit ! Pros: Everything about the room, the house and the garden surrounding it is just perfect. We wish it was a bit warmer, so we could jump in the swimming pool. From the moment we were greeted by Edith, Laurent and their daughter till the end of our stay was just great. Next time we are in the area, we will surely stay here again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect! The room is beautiful, clean, comfortable and very silent, the view on the garden and pool was sooo relaxing. The private breakfast room cute and well furnished, and the breakfast itself simply WOW! Optimal position to explore many places and cities around. Edith and Laurent are lovely guests, and all was prepared with attention to the smallest detail (for example: the tiny bouquet of lavande on the night table, the cute basket with soaps and perfumes in the bathroom...). If we will plan another trip in Provence, we would be happy to come back in La Mathilde. Thank you again for your kindness and hospitality!

Pros: Wish we could have stayed there longer. Loved the breakfast with various meats cheeses and breads in a unique and relaxing dining area. We were treated with freshly squeezed orange juice. The view over the river and Avignon was lovely. The courtyard was pretty and the apartment was very clean and well appointed. Our host was wonderful and gave us tips on where to go in Avignon. Internet access worked well. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Cons: The shower was handheld. Would have liked a mounting bracket for it. An additional full length mirror would be helpful.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality was great, as well as the view of the terrace. The owner, Folco, felt us at home during our stay. The house was full of historical furniture and details, including the fireplace at the breakfast hall. We enjoyed staying here a lot.
Cons: Nothing.
7.5 Good
Pros: The history of this gorgeous maison is wonderful. Very charming and original. Beautiful garden setting. We loved it.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room had a very good view of the Avignon papal palace across the river and Villeneuve-les-Avignon itself is easily explorable by foot from the BnB. The manager of the BnB was also very helpful, recommending us restaurants in Villeneuve, parking spots in Avignon and even helped with parking the car in the private parking spot across the BnB. Breakfast was also good and the manager even helped to cook us fried eggs (tip!)
Cons: Wifi was a little spotty but it seemed like a service provider problem. Door knob on bathroom door was spoilt, but it was a minor concern as we were a married couple (might be a problem if you were friends etc).
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful calm atmosphere; v laid back n casual. The view is spectacular. We had a cottage to ourselves which was v cute n comfortable. Lovely to come back after a hot journey to have a swim and then a glass of wine in the terrace.
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: The garden, the location in the center of Villeneuve. The staff very friendly.
Cons: The rooms could be a bit more modern but the bathroom was great!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a hotel that was such a pleasant surprise. I was a little apprehensive when we turned away from the city center but it proved to be perfect. The garden alone is worth the stay as well as the beautiful patio and restaurant. I would recommend this to anyone except families with children because of the open pool.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was our second visit and we will definitely return. I reviewed this hotel last year and it lived up to our memory. We ate dinner at the restaurant twice - they were amongst the best meals on our 2 week driving holiday in France. What we particularly love about this hotel is that it's such an old building, but with all modern requirements, with easy parking and a lovely pool yet it is in the heart of a busy little town, which is full of restaurants, cafes and shops. Our only disappointment was that due to the weather we couldn't have dinner in the beautiful garden as we did last year but maybe next year!
5.5 Okay
Pros: Trees, garden and evening meal
Cons: The room was 'tired' and lacked luxury touches. Wash basin chipped and cracked. It is fine to be on the second floor, but with no lift and four flights of stairs up a very narrow, drab staircase it is good that we are 'fit' 70+ people. We were not informed that staying on a Saturday would cost us 100+euros more than we expected. PS. Did not have my correct name at registration.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Quaint hotel with a beautiful pool and lovely restaurant
Cons: Rooms are outdated, breakfast was pricey for what it was
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent and it was a small hotel which felt homey . Our room was fantastic - much larger than we anticipated which was a nice surprise. Tiffany who worked at the front desk was exceptional - right from our booking stage to when we actually met her at the hotel. She was very helpful, went out of her way to assist and was just lovely! A true asset to the hotel .
Cons: The continental breakfast was definitely overpriced £27 pp for what was provided.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely pool and gardens. Terrace for dinner is beautiful. Very good staff. Restaurant review separate.
Cons: Our room. Small. Very brown. Odd bits of furniture. Unlike any other R & C we have stayed in before. Booked for 2 nights but left after first! Small buffet breakfast.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location! Large room overlooking the pool! Staff friendly and helpful! Beautiful gardens!
Cons: Disappointed not to have more than one complimentary bottle of water on a two night stay!! Air con unit very noisy and quite inefficient!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The premises and the location are very nice.
7.7 Good
Pros: We liked the room, pool and grounds of the hotel. The area was wonderful for walking and sightseeing. The staff was very helpful and responsive to our needs.
Cons: We felt that the dinner was very overpriced and was more presentation then delicious. I requested a green salad but was told that I could not vary from the menu. For such a lovely hotel I would expect that a green salad would not be too much to ask.
6.3 Good
Pros: food and service
Cons: troppo vicino alle rotaie del treno
8.0 Excellent
Cons: Liked eveerything
7.7 Good
Pros: Beautiful grounds and gardens. Hotel is in a quaint, small town within an easy 5 min. drive of Avignon and has much more charm than Avignon. We booked the least expensive room and were given a lovely room with garden view which was quite large.
Cons: no
7.6 Good
Pros: Wonderful restuarant
Cons: Breakfast was expensive, but provided little.

Pros: Perfect place! Frédérique and Alain were very kind and forthcoming! We got a lot of advises where to go and what to see! The room was nice and clean, nice yard and pool.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful and open hosts.
Cons: -
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We loved the friendly Alain and Frederique, who make this B&B really special. Warm welcome, little gestures, free advice every morning or evening and very helpfull if you need anything. They are proactive too! (for example, Alain was looking at traffic to Spain before we left to inform us about jams, before we even asked. And they came up with GREAT restaurant and excursion suggestions for us and the kids) We loved the family room; good size, seperate sleeping for the kids. Nice beds, nice lay out, bathroom and toilet were modern and seperate, everything fine. If there was airco, i would stay for weeks! We had fans to keep us cool, but in a 40+ heatwave, it was still pretty hot... Coffee and teamaker and supplies in the room also. With some Nougat :-) the pool is great, the garden is nice, with hammocks to relax. Tables big and small and lounge sets to relax or picknick when you come back with your finds from the surrounding countryside, like we did ( Hint; Olive Farm la Calanquet is nice to visit Olive oil factory with explanation in French and English and LOTS of tasting. I am still enjoying my last bit of Calanquest oil every day) These tables are also where breakfast is in the mornings. Nice spread, homemade jams too! there is a bar in the garden where you can get free rose wine in the afternoon/evening :-) (help yourself. And a fridge in the bar where you can store your drinks or food you might have bought (no fridge in the rooms) All in all, we enjoyed our 2 night stay on the way to Spain. We visited Beaux de Provence (really nice) and the Carrieres de Lumiere (Caves with lights and music, very impressive AND nice and cool), some monestary and the Calanquet Olive Oil farm. We ate dinner at Italian Restaurant/ pizzeria La Strada in nearby les Angles, which I can HIGHLY recommend!
Cons: see below, The only reasons this does not get a 10, is the lack of AIRCO and .... the musquitos. We had a LOT on our second night in the garden and room, and forgot to buy repellent. So in Spain I was actually quite sick from all the bites I had acquiered.

Cons: None.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff, food, pool!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Really nice people, great service and lovely hotel overall.
Cons: The beds in the second room were a bit small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The garden, the restaurant
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Knowing that nice hotels in Avignon are quite expensive we chose this place in Villeneuve-les-Avignon. What a nice place! And what a wonderful owner. The room was very quiet and had AC. The bathroom was small but well equipped.
Cons: The stay was nice and without flaws. If you find the restaurant on site too expensive look for alternatives in downtown Villeneuve-les-Avignon.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The chateau was a wonderful building. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was small but well equipped bathroom small but sufficient and clean. Don't miss the restaurant-this exceeded our expectations with great recommendations from the waitress and quality food from the kitchen beautifully presented and delicious.
Cons: The winding stairs-our room was on the top floor but that said we didn't expect a lift in such an old building. (There are rooms outside the chateau if mobility is an Issue) Using actual keys to enter your room we could hear other guests come and go.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The house, pool and food were very good. The room was ok and shower was great.
Cons: Few things need to be checked to ensure they work ok for future guests. Air con, lamp. Battery for safe.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I have nothing but positive comment on our stay in Les Cèdres. The location was perfect (only 3km from the centre of Avignon) and still, when you entered the courtyard of the hotel, it was as if you were in the countryside. We stayed in a very nice duplex with a terrace (disappointed at first as we didn't have a room in the main building, but very satisfied from the moment we entered the duplex: charming, very clean, quiet, everything needed was there). There is ample (free) parkingspace. The swimming-pool is lovely (heated at the time we were there, otherwise entering the pool would have been impossible - great service of the owner Christophe), our dinner was delicious and breakfast really very elaborate (we especially appreciated the variety of fresh fruit, the very tasty croissants and bread). Christophe and his staff really make you feel at home (we had a nice chat with the lady responsible for breakfast). Christophe also likes to chat and moreover he is a good ambassador for his hometown Villeneuve : thanks to him we visited the chartreuse, the fortress and abbey with gardens and the Tower Philippe-le-Bel (there is also a church and a museum, but we didn't visit those). From the fortress, abbey and the tower you have spectacular views on Avignon, Le palais des Papes, the river Rhone, Le Pont and also on the Mont Ventoux), really worth the while. If you plan on visiting several of these historic sites in Villeneuve, ask for "a pass" (reduces your entrance fees quite a bit, availabe at all the sites).
Cons: Everything perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Accomodation was kept very well. Check in process was fast and simple. Breakfast options are good.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was excellent. Dinner was above expectation. Best meal we had while in France.
Les Saisons - Villeneuve-lès-Avignon - Building

9.1 Excellent (33 reviews)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed being out of the hubub of Avignon and the convenient access to the city by bus and ferry. Our room with a superb view of the castle was large and ultra comfortable. Gerard was a most welcoming host. He kindly reserved a parking space for us and was more than willing to recommend local restaurants and to give directions and useful tips. A truly wonderful stay. We thoroughly recommend a visit to this character full B&B.
Cons: Breakfast was served in the room, which was fine given that the weather was decidely iffy, but in summer it would be my preference to take breakfast on the terrace overlooking Gerard's lovely garden. Perhaps that's an option.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My wife & I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in Avignon. The almost 400 year old property is beautiful, rustic, and full of character. Clean, comfortable, absolutely safe, and private. The location and surroundings are amazing - just a minute or 2 away from the local attractions and food in Villeneuve. The host, Monsieur Gerard, was nothing short of wonderful and we instantly felt welcomed the minute he opened the 200 year old front door. He was always helpful and gave us plenty of useful tips & advice on how to go about and enjoy Avignon. We could honestly just sit and chat with him all day if it weren't for the time constraints and sightseeing that we had already planned out for our trip. Highly recommended. Perfect 10 out of 10!
Cons: Absolutely nothing. If there were any shortfalls it would've been masked and compensated by the hosts exceptional hospitality.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location and very quiet.
Cons: Would have liked to return with my child, no children allowed.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This was an outstanding hotel - Gerard, the owner, was an fabulous host who gave us excellent advice on restaurants, attractions, etc. Get a room on the 3rd floor for a great view of the fort. This hotel is just outside Avignon, which was great, since you did not have to hassle with all the downtown issues of parking, crowds, etc. Bus service was good. We used this as a home base for 4 days of traveling around Provence.
Cons: Everything was great - thanks Gerard!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Perfect service by the host, Gerard. Really comfortable room and accomodation. Street parking place reserved by the host.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely, comfortable accommodation in gorgeous historic house with charming host. Breakfast on the terrace, with views of the garden and pool. Peaceful and serene, close to everything that villeneuve has to offer and a short bus ride across the river to Avignon- if you can bear to leave.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic stay at Les Saisons. We stayed in the Aragon Suite which was huge and even had its own balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens. The accommodation was immaculate and elegantly decorated - it felt like staying in a chateau. There is a lovely pool in the garden to cool off on hot days. Gerard the owner was the perfect host, providing lots of helpful tips and advice about things to discover in the region. Location wise the property is right in the heart of Villeneuve with plenty of lovely restaurants, a small supermarket with all the essentials, post office and pharmacy. Avignon is a short bus ride away but we went by foot for a picturesque walk over the river. Highly recommended!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: aLL EXCELLENT!
Cons: Coffee i room ran out 2nd morning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gerard was a charming and attentive host. Cons: Wifi signal is pretty weak in the rooms, to have reliable internet connection it is better to stick to public areas of the property.
7.5 Good
Pros: Dinner outside in the garden was nice.
Cons: Room was okay but could use a bit of freshing up.
6.8 Good
Pros: The back patio and garden was very nice for breakfast. The staff was good. The pool was well maintained.
Cons: The bathroom was nice and had been updated. However the sleeping accomodations did not live up to the bathroom. The decor in the room was unappealing. The lighting was not good. But most importantly the mattress and pillows were terrible. When I asked for a better pillow I was told they were all the same. They were like someone folded a table cloth and put in in a pillowcase. Flat, hard. Bed had no cushion at all. Also the lounge chairs at the pool were not comfortable.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: No elevator and pillows were not too comfortable.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Beautiful garden and building

8.3 Excellent
Pros: We loved the tranquility of this holel set in beautiful gardens with magnificent trees. A real haven. A realxing ambiance around the outdoor terrace . Beautiful lounge area. The staff was very nice and helpful . The room was spacious with comfortable bedding and well furnished . We liked the easy walk into the beautiful village of Villeneuve .
Cons: There was an awful drain musty smell coming from the bathroom and throughout the room. Such a shame, it made it very unpleasant to be in the room and spoilt what would have been ofherwise a very enjoyable stay. The lounge chairs also around the pool were very uncomfortable and should be upgraded, I also expected a mini bar and Tea or coffee making facilites in the room which is standard in four stars hotels . I was surprised these were not provided.

Pros: Nice views from the roof Helpful staff gave great suggestions for food and sight seeing and within walking distance In house laundry service reasonably priced Room was comfortable (I am basic needs traveller)

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very good location to visit the city, just walk across two bridges and you are there.Rooms were clean and beds good. Breakfast was good and plenty of it. There is a fine Vietnamese restaurant just next door too with very good food and price. The staff were very helpful and gave us great directions and lots of advice about the city.
Cons: The street signage off the main road is had to spot and could be better. Parking at reception is very small but you can park in street behind the hotel and bring bags in thru a rear door..so it’s quirky not bad.
