Great staff, closeness to beach, shopping and restaurants, cookies and lemonade in the afternoon, rocking on the front porch Small stall shower
Charming setting with in walking distance of the beach, shops, and restaurants. The staff was wonderful and the breakfast was great. Would definitely stay there again.
rocking chairs on the porch peeling wallpaper
The staff were responsive to any requests we had, and the hotel's grounds were beautiful and comfortable. Also, the baked goods were excellent. We stayed in the Annex, which was built after the main building...and not built very well. The walls and ceilings were so thin we could hear full conversations (and more) from the guests on either side of us and above us. Every step the people above us took rattled our room. Sleeping was impossible. The paint in the room needed a touch up and the room smelled damp and musty. (There was actually mold on the window shades). The Annex was not built well and I, for one, would not stay there again.
The hotel had an excellent location. The rooms were basic but the staff was warm and helpful. They gave us suggestions for restaurants and activities. The also have yummy baked cookies. The hotel was fine but we were there on a weekend. They have these nice outside tables and chairs. There was a twenty something crowd that got a little loud later at night.
Cute, rustic, central location - close to beach, stores and restaurants Shower head could be better
Convenient, fairly priced. Modest quality room.
Very friendly staff, homey feel, good location, but way, way overpriced. Even given that it is summer on Martha's Vineyard and everything is overpriced, I would have expected more.
Perfect location right in Edgartown, Martha's Vineyard. Walking distance to great shops for both his and her shopping. Impeccable location. Had good potencial. Parking is cumbersome. I stayed in a standard king room in the governor mayhew building. The view was of their pool. The king bed was dirty, filthy, and very uncomfortable! The bathroom was tiny, very out of date! And poorly, if even, clean. Mold on the top of the shower and hair still in the drain!!! I would have had better cleaning crew at a motel 6 !
Food was excellent, great service. Room needed updating, better cleaning warranted.
In need of some renovation.
Fantastic location. Beautiful grounds. Awesome porch overlooking the harbor. Breakfast at the hotel was very good and reasonably priced. Big room - nicely furnished. Clean. Walls are thin with a connecting door to the next room , we were awakened several times by noisy neighbors. Parking is limited and not close.
Location to downtown Edgartown. Love the front porch great sunrise! Room could have been cleaner.
Rooms were big and very comfy. Breakfast was delicious and the view was amazing.
I liked everything about out trip. From the rooms, to the very friendly and helpful staff, the town, etc., We loved it. That my trip was too short.
Comfort and hospitality Distance from town.
The proprieters/staff were excellent, they went the extra mile at every opportunity. The breakfast both mornings was delicious, location was ideal, qalking distance from the main street which was important as we did not bring our car to the island.
Location, location, location! Right in downtown Edgartown. Could not be any more perfect centralized location. Main Street and the waterfront are only a few steps away just the perfect spot. The hotel is historic charming clean and the staff is friendly. You can leave the car at home for this one it's in just the perfect place. And it is just about a block from the bands and the loud bars so you have peace and quiet and serenity yet close to everything. we do plan on going back. I just wish they would add the bicycles as complementary to the room since the rooms are fairly priced to begin with
The service was unbelievable. Staff was incredibly friendly.
The location was ideal in Edgartown. It was central to the Waterfront, shops, and restaurants. We were also very close to the Chappy Island ferry. Everything was dirty. They cleaned our room everyday, but it was clear the bathroom/ bathtub was not cleaned ever. The grime/ soap scum accumulated every day. When we arrived to check in there was no one there for a while. It was like that from time to time. Additionally, someone should recommend vacuuming the lobby steps maybe once in a while. It was really dirty. Lastly, I was pregnant. The first day/ night it was very hot. It was not until we complained that we were told the Central AC was broken and maybe they could bring us a window unit. We got a unit and things got more comfortable (thankfully) Overall, I would have gone to the Mansion House, Harbor Hotel down the street, or rented a house for the same price but better quality.
When we arrived they told us that the room had already been booked, due to another person changing the booking for another website. They quickly told us not to worry and they would honor our booking and work to re-book the other person at another location. In two hours, while we ate lunch, they called and told us that we could check into the room
Quaint, nicely style, within walking distance of town When arriving, room not ready
The overall environment of the establishment was first class. The house that our room was in was immaculate. We immediately thought we wanted to stay longer. No negatives that stood out.
Proximity to the must do places. Yes, the view and the breakfast .

Hotel was conveniently located near grocery store and restaurants. Breakfast was posted available til 10:00 am, I went in around 8:45 and the pancake machine was empty and sparse selection of fruit available. There was a good selection of toast, bread, & English muffins. Only one yogurt. My wife and I ending up going out
Good value for the cost. Ceiling leaked beneath the AC unit. Basin drain emptied very slowly. Housekeeping did not replenish the coffee service items--I had to go ask.
Awesome location very clean. Loved the restaurant. The grill on main. Best food I've had There's nothing I could say I didn't like about the hotel. Exept. There was no shampoo found that odd. There was conditioner but no shampoo. No biggie. I used soup.
Quiet, location, Staff. Breakfast.
The continental breakfast selection was somewhat lacking.
