What is the typical cancellation or amendment policy offered by rental companies at this location?

Which extra insurance options should I consider when renting a car here?

We definitely recommend that you add extra insurance for the car and windscreen (these may be expensive to replace if an accident happens). Another must-have is Third Party Liability insurance, which protects you in most cases and events, for a very low added fee. For full peace of mind, you can also take out an excess cover. If not included, it's always better to be safe than sorry for a small extra fee.

How are the fuel and mileage policies, compared to other locations?

Both car rental agencies have a full-to-full fuel policy, so you just need to make sure that you fill up the car before you return it. If you forget or run out of time, there will be a refuelling surcharge. To explore Bahia to your heart's content without hurting your wallet, the agencies both offer unlimited mileage, so don't worry about keeping a log.

Do the agencies supplying car hire at Vitoria da Conquista Airport have automatic cars?

Both the agencies have automatic cars, but only from the ''compact'' class, or bigger. At least you'll have extra space if you packed too much. If you only have an automatic class licence, we suggest you book in advance and include it in the booking, to make sure you don't get a manual drive. Just select all your search filters, including "automatic shift/drive" and choose the car you like the most.

Located in the state of Bahia, Brazil, the new Vitória da Conquista Airport (VDC) was built in 2019. It's the ideal arrival point to explore Bahia's beaches and hidden treasures. Because of Bahia's size, and the public transport available, we think it is essential that you use car hire at Vitória da Conquista Airport. This will give you complete freedom and reliability to find the best beach, or be on time for your business meeting. Use the tips below to find the best option for your trip by booking through KAYAK.
Although there are no car companies located at the airport, all the car hire firms provide a convenient shuttle that will pick you up just outside the Arrivals Terminal. Due to its small size and domestic-only operation, Vitória da Conquista airport car hire only has two local suppliers: Localiza and Movida. This means that car hire at Vitória da Conquista Airport is very competitive and you may be able to negotiate a discount by comparing prices. Typically rental fees are not very high, however. A great bonus is that you won't wait long for your car unless there are unforeseen delays. Always choose a car with air-con; Brazil has a hot tropical climate.
All car rental agencies in Brazil require that you have an International Driving Permit, in conjunction with your driver's licence. Make sure that you have both with you, as you won't be able to collect your car without all the necessary documents, and a credit card. This will mean you lose your booking, and you won't be able to get a refund. It is also typical that you must have had your licence for at least two years before you can rent a car from any agency in Brazil.
Included insurance coverage offered by operators in Bahia only includes Theft Protection and Collision Damage Waiver (CDW). We strongly suggest you add some extra, comprehensive insurance when you make your booking using KAYAK. Cancellations and booking amendments are included, under the conditions listed in the Terms and Conditions page you will receive with your reservation confirmation.
