Pros: My husband, 3-year-old and I spent last night in this Victorian-style bed and breakfast after visiting the animals at the safari park yesterday. Our upstairs "journey room" was huge -- could've accommodated 2 more people -- in addition to being extremely clean and comfortable....even the bath towels seemed extra soft and fluffy. We all slept great in VERY comfortable beds and enjoyed meeting Judy, the owner, who made us an AWESOME breakfast of bacon, cooked-to-order eggs and a Victorian waffle bar (delicious heart-shaped waffles, pecans, strawberries, whipped cream and sugar, all in authentic Victorian servingware), plus my son was served his milk in a lidded Minions cup! Homemade cookies and other snacks are available in the guest kitchen (peanuts, raisins, popcorn, apples), as well as cold drinks in the common-use fridge, not far from the pool table. We were allowed to bring our bikes that we took to Callaway Gardens today inside overnight. We forgot one of my son's toys and Judy called to tell us, and offered us Cokes when we swung back by to get it. She is an incredibly attentive hostess, who even wears Victorian era dress. It was much more affordable than anything available inside Callaway (at least with our last-minute reservation). There is no downside to choosing to be her guest!
Cons: Our TomTom took us past it, but we happened to notice the sign that could've been a little more prevalent. Everything else was great. Seriously. Our son was very welcome, but he's past the touching everything stage -- it would be a nightmare to have been there amidst all the fragile, pretty things with a handsy one year old.
When visiting Hamilton, Holly House of Hamilton is a great choice to consider. Guests can keep active with onsite hiking/biking trails, and free perks include WiFi, self parking, and cooked-to-order breakfast daily.
Pros: The owner was very friendly and gave us great information on the local sites where to go what to see and where to eat. The room was very clean and spacious.
Cons: Continental Breakfast
Pros: it was pet friendly, it is sooo hard to find pet friendly. the owner was extremely friendly and was very informative about directions and local eaterys. we will book there again.
Cons: Dirty, did not get maid service. Owners out of town & someone covering from a diiferent hotel. So front desk was always closed. Contact # on door rang the phone in the closed office! Was able to get # of other hotel so we at least got some clean towels.
Pros: This is what I would like every hotel to be, if every location had one!Small operation, 'mom and pop', friendly, personal, on a human level. If you like cookie-cutter and sterile, this is not for you.Luxurious, no. Clean, economical, functional, yes.
Cons: Coffee not always out at the same time but no big deal really.
Cons: The water pressure and shower head could of been better in my room 10B.
Cons: Old antiquated room. Shower had little water pressure and was old and cracked up. Yuk!
A very simple establishment. Older, but well maintained and clean. Breakfast was advertised as minimal, which was accurate. I did not even see coffee available. If you are going to arrive late be sure to call, the desk is not staffed after 9:00.
Cons: It was as advertised, basic, but clean.
Pros: The rooms were cozy and Ms. Patel was really helpful.
Cons: I did not like the fact the each room had an outside entrance, but that is just a personal preference. The others didn't mind it. The complimentary breakfast was not good at all. There was no selection at all and the coffee was horrible.
Very clean, owners were very friendly, convenient too all local attractions.
Pros: Great value and location!
Cons: No, it was perfect for the pricepoint.
Pros: Very friendly, helpful staff. Relaxing swing under giant magnolia surrounded by hydrangeas.
Cons: A little run down
This motel has been around for close to 50 years. The current owners have owned it for 8 years. It's a quiet old timey small roadside motel like you used to find everywhere while traveling up until the mid 1970's. It could use some fresh paint here and there, but there are no glaring faults that I saw. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The owners, a husband and wife, are nice people and I spent almost an hour talking to the husband when I went to get a bagel and cream cheese the morning we checked out. The wife, Amita, also talked to us a while when we checked in, about the area and all the flowers and plants she has around the motel. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
Pros: The owners are friendly and have good knowlege of the area. It is also convenient to Callaway Gardens, FDR State Park and the Safari Park. There are plenty of quiet country backroads to explore in the area as well.
Located off US Highway 27, this Pine Mountain motel features a continental breakfast and free WiFi. Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park is 2.3 miles away. A flat-screen cable TV, microwave, and a small refrigerator are included in all simply-appointed rooms at this Pine Mountain White Columns Motel. Select rooms have four-post beds. The property includes a garden, a swing underneath a magnolia tree, and small seating area. A vending machine and free parking are available at White Columns Motel as well. The continental breakfast is served in the lobby. The menu includes honey buns and bagels with cream cheese as well as coffee and orange juice. Mountain Creek Lake and Callaway Gardens horticultural centre and butterfly sanctuary are 3 minutes’ drive from the property. Columbus Airport is 27.3 miles away.
Pros: Recently renovated rooms, bathroom was especially nice. Fishing there was a particular treat- an incredibly beautiful morning on the lake, made so easy by very kind and helpful staff. A memorable experience. The Chapel was also lovely and made extra special by the organ concert we happened to catch. Wonderful pool area with two hot tubs.
Cons: Limited things in bloom, very different from my memory of a visit many years ago. Access gates were closed due to off season status making it rather difficult to get around. Major grounds renovation involving heavy equipment was ongoing. Limited dining options when we arrived late Mother's Day and many restaurants closed the next day (Monday). Pillows were like rocks- really a surprise, given the very comfortable beds.
Adjacent to a golf course, The Lodge & Spa at Callaway Gardens is a great choice for a stay in Pine Mountain. Guests can visit the spa to indulge in deep-tissue massages, body wraps, or body scrubs, and American cuisine is served at Piedmont Grille, which is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. An outdoor pool and a poolside bar are other highlights, and rooms offer balconies and flat-screen TVs.
Pros: The staff was great and the complimentary breakfast was very good.
Pros: The hotel is on top of a mountain. Beautiful view and log cabin style rooms.
Cons: Unfortunately a young staff was not doing his work, sleeping, losing paper works, and assigning wrong rooms. I had to wake him up twice at 5 p.m.
Pros: The view from our third floor room was awesome! Book Lodge room 2 if you'd like vaulted ceilings and a porch view of the valley below.
Cons: The hairdryer was broken and there was a strange window above our bed that looked down into a meeting room below. Otherwise, great accommodations.
Pros: The room and facility were both wonderful.
Cons: There was a bridge out on a road that my GPS kept insisting I take to get to the lodge. It was after hours and I could not get anyone on the phone.
Pros: The newly renovated rooms are so nice, cute and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds are lovely and well kept. The only disappointment was that we couldn't use the pool because it was being treated.
Cons: Rooms with one bed are very small. Roll aways are not an option.
Pros: Location and staff
Cons: Somewhat dated.....loud ac.......poor tv reception
Pros: The view!
Cons: Hotel office was the only place to get food. Unfortunately, only options were chips and candy bars. It would be nice if they had stocked a variety of things.
Pros: This is a no frills inn. The room was clean and appeared to be freshly painted. The bed was comfortable. If your touring Warm Springs on a budget, this is a comfortable and safe place to lay your head
Cons: The continental breakfast is nothing to brag about. Very sparse, but for the cost of the room, its more than what was expected.
Pros: Good location. Easy to find. Restaurant good.
Cons: Needs updating. More outlets for charging electronic items. I had no hot water one morning. Not sure why. Sheer curtains would be nice to have sunlight be no one can see in.
When you stay at Mountain Creek Inn, Cottages and Villas at Callaway Gardens, you can practice your swing on the golf course. Guests can visit the spa to be pampered with deep-tissue massages, facials, or body treatments, and Plant Room, one of 3 restaurants, serves breakfast. There are 3 outdoor pools and a bar/lounge, and rooms offer room service and premium bedding.
Cons: Breakfast was very minimal. Internet was not working most of the time.
Pros: The price
Cons: I was first greeted by a man whom I clearly woke up wear jeans and a wife beater....I should have just left at that point.
Then when I entered my room, the room smelled like mold
The top of the dresser was rough and I wasn't sure if the varnish or paint had just been exposed to heat or if it was another substance
There were stains on the lamp shads and most wouldn't turn on
The comforter was old, very old, and when I pulled it off the bed, it had stains underneath
The blanket was thin, like a 1970's blanket made of felt
The sheets had rips and holes and were they didn't have holes, it was just a matter of time (possible because of the amount of bleach and age)
On the vanity just outside the bathroom, then rim on the side and across the back was covered in hair, as if someone with coarse hair had just shaved and it was never cleaned
I didn't even attempt to enter the bathroom
The person who checked me in quite honestly turned me off that I went to my family that was staying at Calloway Gardens and asked if anyone would let me sleep on the floor and didn't even spend 1 night
The next morning when I contacted booking.com to tell them and cancel the rest of my reservation, they sent the request to the hotel. I then received a call from the hotel, which I missed. Booking.com asked me to go formerly check-out, and when I did, I was greeted by a very rude Hispanic lady, who would not give me her name, She yelled at me and told me that I (me the customer) was being disrespectful to the hotel. That I should have contacted them first. I really felt like the guy in the wife beater was really going to be helpful, and really, would any other room be different (maybe minus the hair on the vanity).
Booking.com was very helpful. But the hotel staff leave a lot to be desired and the Hispanic lady who continued to scream at me and kicked me out refusing to officially check me out should not be allowed to speak with customers.
