Pros: Amazing Hospitality..The breakfast was incredible and the hostess was really kind and helpful!! Higly recomended!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location and beautiful individualized boutique rooms. Lots of nice little details in the house and the garden makes the place warm and feeling home, Marie is a great and lovely Host. Breakfast is outstanding with lots of homemade things.
7.0 Good
Pros: The host was really kind and communication was great. The breakfast was very good and varied.
Cons: The heating system and layout of the room were not an ideal combination. Downstairs it was too cold and upstairs way too warm to sleep. It would be great if the window upstairs could be opened. The location is near Strasbourg but there is not much going on around it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is a family home that was originally a manor house built in 1798. The main house and servants quarters were completely remodeled in 2015 and retain all of their original 1800's charm and character. There are three guest rooms in the refurbished servants quarters and all are very comfortable. There is a small living room and kitchen to share in that building, but a larger very comfortable living room where the host serves a great breakfast every morning.
Cons: If you are looking for a busy central location you should plan on staying in Strasbourg which is 10 minutes away by car otherwise this location is perfect for a quiet get away.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely environment and warm host
Cons: None. We wanted to stay in a small village near the city
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a lovely B&B which is wonderfully run by our hostess Marie. Everything about her place is perfect. The rooms are spotlessly clean and lovingly decorated, the breakfast is yummy, with lots of choices. Marie herself is kindly handing out plenty of good advice, i.e. dining options or activities.
Cons: Everything was great!

Pros: It’s wonderful to live in an old house with comfortable redecoration.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole entire place was really clean and decorated with taste. There are also parking places which is very handy (also, safe as the parking was behind the gates). Anne was extremely friendly, always making sure we got everything. Our apartment was for five people therefore, very open, big and comfortable. There was an extra toilet upstairs. The wifi worked with ease. It is only a 14 minute drive to strasbourg from this place. Also, near by there are many interesting little towns to visit and there are many supermarkets.
Cons: There is nothing that I didn't like.

Pros: Our stay was great, the staff and owners were terrific, the rooms were excellent and so was breakfast. The facilities overall were exceptional.
Cons: Everything was very good
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Christiane was extremely helpful and friendly
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Our room was clean and comfortable. Some of the breakfast items, such as the applesauce, were prepared from produce raised on the farm. The restaurant across the street had excellent food for dinner. A common room offered a place for snacks and games for families and groups.
Cons: The drive into Strasbourg is more challenging than I expected and our point in staying here was to visit Strasbourg. Some of the roads are very narrow and I would recommend arriving in daylight until you are familiar with the area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We travelled through Alsace for 3 weeks and this was our favorite! The hostess and host were amazing and they spoke English well. The breakfast was delicious and the pool was so refreshing. It was a short, easy trip to Strasbourg and we loved being on a farm. Good restaurants were in walking distance. Truly loved it.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great room in a century old historic building which was beautifully renovated by the owner. Great warm host prepared awesome breakfasts and gave lots of recommendations for locations in the area. Downtown Strasbourg either 15 min by car, or 30 min by nearby tram.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The owner was perfectly nice. We liked everything about our stay in „La stoob“,
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a perfect stay! Very good breakfast!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was beautifully furnished & decorated, the bathroom large & modern. The owners very welcoming & we had a glass of wine in the courtyard on our arrival.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owner Laurence made our stay really special, she went over & beyond with kindness & service. Very clean, fresh sheets, fresh smelling towels!! Owner & daughter both spoke some English which was fantastic! Fresh baked goods daily for breakfast, if you prefer croissants in place of stick bread that can need only to ask, here they aim to please!! Offered to drive us to the hairdresser (tho we walked, wasn't far) & made the apt. for us to get our hair done. We came to stay 6 days in an affordable place & ended up making special new friends. Weren't planning on returning before we stayed here but will be back for sure!!
Cons: Some plants or flowers in the outside seating area.. would make it so much cozier out there :) Bathroom door needs trimmed in downstairs bath as it scrapes the floor when you open or close it. Otherwise.. No complaints!!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: First of all, the owner, this really nice lady herself, who’s heartwarming, funny, open-minded, talkative(but not annoying at all) and very tentative, already made the stay special. We enjoyed our small talks with her at breakfasts, feeling like spending time with a new friend, like staying at home. She always checked with us when we’d like to have breakfast on the next morning and then showed up there every morning, making sure we had everything we needed. There’s a decent choice of breakfast for a small guesthouse, different kinds of cheese, marmalades and breads (sweet and salty). You can pull your hot tee/coffee or grab a cold drink from the fridge anytime you like, like at home:) Oh and we got fresh towels everyday, thanks to the lovely lady. The house speaks for itself, authentic, romantic, well balanced rustic charm and mordern living comfort, with many tasteful decorative details. The location is not only perfect for visiting Strasbourg (20 mins by tram, the station 5 mins walk from the house, the ticket is quite cheap), but also if you wanna take a ride on the famous “Wine Street” and visit those lovely wine villages, just ask the hostess, she’d be happy to offer you insider tips.:) You have everything you need in walking distance here. Last but not the least, you can park your car safely for free in the yard, which normally costs 10 euros or even more per day in the city! All in all, we enjoyed our stay so much here and wanna thank you again for your hospitality and the heartwarming “surprise” for us in the end(it was delicious :)) Schöne Grüße aus Düsseldorf

Pros: The room! Beautiful combination of new facilities and classic housing and furniture.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming place and the best hostess you could imagine. Interesting and exciting buildning with lots of historical objects to explore. Despite the house dating back 400 years all the facilities were modern, clean and comfortable. Nice to be able to cool off in the pool. Good breakfast. Comfy beds. No disturbance, very quiet and calm. Catherine will take the best care of you, she was so kind and helpful. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay which we ended up extending by one night.
Cons: It is a bit hard to get to by train and bus BUT if you travel by car it is perfect.

Pros: We always stay here on our way to Italy and the Spa facilities are most welcome after a long drive and the food in the restaurant is outstanding!
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The kidness and helpfulness of the owner and personal. The silence of the location between 10 pm and 7 am.
Cons: The church is very near, and the morning awakening at 07h00 was a little bit annoying.
7.9 Good
Pros: The swimming pool is perfect, warm and spotlessly clean. A really lovely way to start the day. You can even do a bit of cycling or pilatis in the little gym. The food was excellent, both dinner and breakfast, with top quality ingredients and a relaxing atmosphere. This would be a brilliant place to stay a few days and go walking in the beautiful countryside.
Cons: We had a luxury room, but it was really quite small and my husband found the bed rather hard. Don't stay there is you cannot arrive early, they can't serve you dinner after 8.30pm The hotel is only 5 Km from Marmoutier, in a lovely spot, but arriving at night in pouring rain it feels like it is at the end of the world! The price is fairly high, but the quality is good.

7.9 Good
Pros: Hosts were extemely helpful, with lots of very useful information, organising tram ticket into Strasbourg.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a room owned by a very friendly elderly man and his wife. The room is quiet and isolated from the rest of the house. The owner enjoys talking to the guests in French or German and providing a great service, including preparing breakfast and setting up an iron and ironing board. Staying there was a good experience.
Cons: Slightly off center, but the public transportation is pretty good, so it does not matter much. You can get to the city center within 10-15 minutes.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was large with a comfy seating area. It was lovely to have an area in the garden where we were able to sit. Our hosts made us very welcome.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very lovely host I ever met, this guesthouse is only one room which all guests will feel VIP experience. I came there early and not prior inform the host when I arrive. The neighbor helped me to contact the host to welcome me. Moreover, all room facilities are full-equipped and its room always keep clean. Breakfast was decent and the tram station is in walking distance.
Cons: The shower room and flush toilet area is a bit cramped.

Cons: All ok
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Service Quality is excellent, Friendly staff, at home environment,
Cons: no other transportation than taxi, a bit far away from Strasbourg, bed might be smaller compare to other hotels
1.0 Poor
Pros: We first stayed at this hotel in July 2015. We thought then that the rooms were very small and poorly furnished. However, the evening meal we had then was very good. So, as we were passing this way again, we thought to give it a second go. Big mistake! We booked and agreed the extra charge for a ‘superior room’ in the hope that it would give us more space, that did not happen. The bedroom was even smaller, and as before, very cheaply furnished. It had a second small side room with a two-seater settee and a TV. Never mind, we were only staying one night and we came here mainly for dinner.
Cons: Our waitress didn’t speak English, which made choosing difficult so we went for the higher priced option of the house suggested menus, which offered choices to three courses. The first course was smoked salmon which was very good and lots of it. Our second course was lamb, this was not so good! It was dry and over cooked, the vegetables were luke warm and tasteless, the chips were cold. We tried to eat some of the lamb but as it was served without any sauce or gravy, it was too dry to eat so, unfortunately, we had to send it back. We were not offered a replacement. After our desert, which was fine, I spoke to the man who seemed to be in charge and explained why we sent the lamb back and said we were not upset, it was clear the chef had, had a bad day, but we required them to deduct the charge for the main course. We were happy to pay for the starter, desert and wine. I offered to pay half the total amount plus the wine, €54.50 from the total bill of €98. He would not accept this, saying it had been prepared and therefore we had to pay the full amount, a very strange argument. This conversation went on for some minutes, but as I was not prepared to pay the full amount he then said, “get your things from your room and go”. I said “are you telling me to leave the hotel”, he said “yes, go. You cannot stay here.” My wife and I went to the room, packed and then tried to leave. As we walked out, he and another man followed, still demanding we pay the full amount. A heated argument pursued by our car, he and the other man stopped my wife from getting into our car, but eventually, after I demanded they call the police, they accepted €50 as part payment and let us leave. I am 71, my wife 68. Trying to make us pay for food we could not eat, making us leave the hotel at 9 PM in mid-December when it was below freezing, stopping us getting into our car, arguing outside the hotel, in full view of other guests, is totally unacceptable.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet area and nice continental breakfast
Cons: A bit far from city
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredibly friendly staff, fantastic 2nd floor room and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Would highly recommend this hotel.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a small hotel with a charm and friendly stuff. The food was great and the rooms well equipped and clean. It was a nice point to start the bike trips or walks.
Cons: Could have been less expensive, especially the restaurant part. But the food was very good and portions enormous.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is peaceful and tranquil. The restaurant was closed on the Monday night so we asked the owner if we could use their BBQ, sat in the garden and had a great night.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was ideal for flights to/from Strasbourg airport. It's not in central Strasbourg, and public transport is probably not ideal, so a car is basically needed. For our purposes, a quiet weekend getaway, it was great. The check-in and check-out processes were extremely smooth, and the reception staff very friendly. The room was standard, no frills. Very comfortable bed. Gets a bit warm though, especially if the shutters are closed. Breakfast was good with a decent selection, good quality food, and not too busy. Overall very good value for the money, recommended.
Cons: No complaints.

Le Château d'Osthoffen - Osthoffen - Building

8.7 Excellent (224 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Osthoffen, Le Château d'Osthoffen is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of Chartreuse Museum and Zenith Strasbourg. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.1 Good
Pros: A great place for the amateurs of the authentic charm of an old castle, A lovely elderly couple is holding the place and they are very serviceminded and helpful, The room had a fine size and the same goes for the bathroom, with very fine facilities. The check-in is quite late (17.30-21.00), but arriving at 16.00 I was admitted to my room anyway.
Cons: Even if very clean and nothing broken inside the castle, the place need a heavy update to meet todays' standards in terms of electricity and silence/privacy as well as the interior.
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice location - the castle is very pretty, and the gardens / outdoor areas are very pretty.
Cons: Did not feel our hosts were hospitable. Breakfast was extremely basic - not even a boiled egg offered. At 11:00 on the day of our check out we had our door banged on, and we were asked to check out immediately. In addition, we asked to leave our suitcases in storage but were denied, and the reception area was locked down. It would have also be great to have a lounge area to hang out in - the only option was the room or go into Strasbourg.
7.1 Good
Pros: Exceptionally beautiful building and garden - a real find. Room very spacious. Accommodating staff that waited up for us to arrive at midnight without complaining! Very welcoming of the dog...
Cons: Slightly frumpy place, breakfast quite basic. Probably not great value for money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A magical experience that is unforgettable forever. When the owners of the castle (kindly old couple) knew that we were from China. They upgraded the room specifically for us. The room was clean and tidy, the castle was very classic and the manor was very beautiful. The owners of the castle took the initiative to take photos for us and also had a cordial conversation with us. After returning to China, we introduced this castle to our friends and hope that everyone will encounter a dream here.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners are a lovely couple, with plenty of stories and local insights.
7.1 Good
Pros: Chateau and surrounds very beautiful
Cons: Breakfast very average . On checkout we were given a full bill to pay even though we had booked and paid 9 months ago . Host insisted that he was not paid by Booking.com even after I showed him proof of the payment on my Booking.com app as well as a confirmation email showing everything paid in full ! Rooms a bit "tired" .
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The castle has a long history. The old couple was nice.
7.1 Good
Pros: Lots of stairs. Bed was old and needed to be replaced.
Château de l'Ile & Spa - Ostwald - Building

8.6 Excellent (1,107 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Ostwald, Château de l'Ile & Spa is on a river, within a 15-minute drive of L'Illiade and Museum of Chocolate Secrets. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and luggage storage. For a surcharge, guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle (available 24 hours) and a train station pick-up service.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property with train access to the heart of Strasbourg (which unfortunately we were only informed about after check-in and after renting a car and visting Strasbourg - I wish this info would be clearer on booking.com because it adds value).
Cons: Restaurant was kind of disappointing as well as breakfast. The first for the quality-price relationship, the second could have been great if it wasn't a hectic effort from not very empathic staff running around and substituting for food with some delay. For a 24€/pax breakfast one shouldn't arrive at 9h45 (when breakfast is served until 10h30) and observe empty plates of cheese, and empty plates of salmon, empty croissant baskets with a last piece of salmon resting on the towel, and waiting a while for replacement...). If it wasn't for this we would certainly consider returning for a longer relaxing stay! A shame.
7.1 Good
Cons: The pillows were too soft and square shaped which have me neck ache the next day. The lighting in the room was too dark.
6.7 Good
Pros: Beautiful building and surrounding gardens
Cons: Needs serious refurbishment of the whole hotel Not up to standards anymore
7.5 Good
Pros: Location And the facility in the hotel.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The staff is friendly and the hotel looks amazing from the outside. Well located and easily accessible by car.
Cons: Not a 5 stars Spa hotel at all. Spa area is not of a 4 stars hotel, let alone 5 stars: swimming pool smaller as in pics, jacuzzi small, and full of kids playing, sauna small, no drinks, no Spa personnel, it looks like low cost furniture ... no relaxing at all. Garden view means: parking view. No coffee maker in room (only instant coffee). No concierge. We looked for a relaxing weekend and we failed miserably. At checkout no chance to give feedback. Value for money: very poor.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is great! The shower is also very nice. The place is good value.
Cons: The main bedroom had a fan and was fine - the smaller children's room was very hot (to be fair, it was 39 degrees outside) - a sheet rather than a duvet would have been a good idea.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely warm welcome and very smart and clean accommodation
7.1 Good
Pros: Very quiet. Nice bathroom, unfortunately not to be used in the evening. Room and bathroom were super clean.
Cons: Unfortunately we arrived a bit late (21:30) due to traffic problems in Luxemburg so the owner told us not to take any shower because his children were already sleeping. After a long and demanding trip the possibility to take a shower and relax is really a minimum. I would suggest staff to inform customers on the booking.com site if they do not accept arrivals after a specific hour. Spartan breakfast. Apparently no restaurants in the close neighborhood.
7.1 Good
Pros: Rural setting, quiet. Modern annexe. Owners friendly.
Cons: Breakfast very very poor. Chose a place speifically with breakfast included. Nicely presented but literally only bread and jam! I was expecting a farmhouse type breakfast so this was very disappointing for France - no cheese, ham, eggs or even cereal, let alone hot options. No shampoo or shower gel or soap. The house is in a small hamlet with no shops of any sort, nearest place to eat 10km away in Saverne.

Pros: nice place, quiet, very good for families
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Large rooms, comfortable beds and quiet location. The parking slot is a few steps from the accomodation and there is plenty of space for children to play and steam off following a long trip. The kitchenette is endowed with the useful tools, basic but complete. We got a ground floor apartment and the table outside was excellent for dining and breakfast. The staff is welcoming warmly and provide all the needed infos.
Cons: All was as expected!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel located in Wasselonne in a quiet area of town, our room overlooked the trees and was very peaceful. The rooms are big, with a comfortable double bed, a small table and chairs and a good sized bathroom. The kitchenette facilities were very basic, stove top, coffee maker, microwave and fridge. The owner and staff were very nice. The apartment was serviced every day and they kindly allowed us to use the washing machine and tumble dryer. The sauna is also very nice. There is a local public pool across the road which is very nice and convenient. It's a short drive to the local supermarket. If we come back to Wasselonne we would definitely stay here again.
Cons: There is no sofa to sit on and the kitchen supplies are very basic - perhaps providing a kettle, good knife for cutting and a good frying pan would be nice.
