The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was nice and modern but still had a homely feel. The location of the hotel means that once you are there its not easy to say go to a shop or to a different place to eat. There were no coffee or tea making facilities so had to resort to a vending machine to avoid paying a lot for room service.
Good value for money The food is very expensive so we were compelled to eat out
My room was comfortable and clean. The staff were courteous and the food was of a good quality and well cooked.
the location is briljant. good value for money in terms of food, drinks and room clearly not catering for somebody who stays there for a week: no gym or pool or facility to quietly work as a businessman
rooms were plenty big. all new. comfortable beds and seating. staff is very friendly and helpful. great breakfast. perfect location for me. quality provided exceeds cost. great value!!! one of the rooms smelled slightly of cigarette smoke. they offered to switch rooms.
Great area. right next to the bus stop to get you into the Hague in 5 minutes. Free parking!!!
Ease and helpfulness of the staff N/A
I had the worst welcomeing in my life. I had a recial abuse by receptionist and I did not get the room that i have booked even i called thme before 3 times to comfirm about our arrival. but the recetionist called manan she was very unhelpfull and she is not suitable for front office to serve guest.so I will write to you a complain letter and also to the hotel managment. I had my worst check in of my life and its so shame for that hotel to employ some one like her ..but I will do further complain if you can guid me where and how..
Very helpful staff.
Walking through the woods into Den Haag to explore the city or travel further afield. So easy from the Hotel all good
easy and quick to check in and out of the hotel there was no coffee/tea in the room
I chose the Kieviet Hotel because of the specific location. I had a reason to be in the neighbourhood and the hotel was in walking distance to the places I wanted to see. However, this hotel is not centrally located so people staying here should know the area. The hotel is very comfortable and the people are very helpful and polite. However, I found the hotel to be overpriced for the type of room and the breakfast (included in the price). The breakfast was ok but not terrific - the usual selection of items for a simple buffet.
Pleasant staff. Located in very pretty residential area. Room and some common areas feel a bit worn. Breakfast buffet OK, but limited compared to other hotels in area.
The hotel is in a very quiet and beautiful residential area. It is clean and in very good shape. The breakfast was quite good and the price was reasonable. Our standard room was a little small and the matresses were not firm.
Great parking lot in terms of size. Staff hard to find on arrival. Low water pressure in bathroom. Cold remains of scrambled egg at breakfast at 9 a.m. No staff. Parking lot full of holes which themselves were full of water due to heavy rain. Overall: management attention required!
Location and nice sized rooms. Very helpful staff. Very expensive restaurant which did not provide a child friendly menu. In addition you could not sit in the restaurant without breathing in second hand smoke. No coffee making facilities provided in the rooms.
Spacious quiet rooms, good breakfast, free parking. Some areas of the hotel could be spruced up or modernised. For example; for some reason there's grafitti scratched into the lift. At full price I think I would have been disappointed but with a discount it's fit for purpose.
the atmosphere, ambiance and environment the cleanliness of the room, the poorly trained staff
The Kieviet is located in 'old' Wassenaar, with the benefit of being a short taxi ride to Den Haag or Scheveningen. I love its location in the woods, and ample outdoor terraces. Rooms are generous in size. The hotel is a faded glory. Over the last 20 years it has traded on a past reputation and there has been little investment in f,f & E. It seems like the management (which I understand has changed several times) is trying to compete on price with the Van der Valk hotel barely a km away. They dont need to. The Van der Valk is a bog-standard IBIS-type soulless place. The Kieviet should invest in upgrades and charge more. The € 84 per night rate is silly. I would rather pay € 110 per night and have a refurbed bathroom and a decent breakfast. The breakfast was poor. I arrived at 09.30 - no staff in sight. no coffee left. no tables cleared up. a shame, because the Kieviet has all the potential to be a 4 star+ hotel, but trades like a 2.
Kind staff - good value for money Hotel is slightly 'run down' but charming. Could do with a refurbishing.
No mini bar, no water in the room, unacceptable for such a price
Friendlyness and helpfull personnel Lack of airco. On warm days with THE flat roof, THE rooms are to warm
It's well-suated to visit several towns - coastline is nice - with walks through the dunes- cycling breakfast too expensive 18 euros - I think it would be better to have everything included- pay a bit more - but if you have breakfast supper and a night it costs the same as in a five-star
Room was very nice, new, and clean. The room has modern style. And there are many activities: blowling, swimming pool .... There was a problem of computer so many guestes including my group had to wait for hour to check in.
Breakfast was served every day in the other rooms. Last day we were walking arround the hotel at least 10 minutes to find the right lounge. Nothing to do after 9PM, when pool is closed. No connections to the city (bus or train).
room and toilet/ shower like a backpackers' hotel, not a 4start hotel!
The room was exactly what we wanted. Very comfortable, great staff, close to everything.
Modern, lovely, clean rooms. An incredibly helpful staff, gave great information and suggestions. Their swimming center was quite a treat. Many amenities. Breakfast seemed quite expensive, so we didn't even bother.
Cleanliness of room good but inside toilet was not clean. No comfortable easy chairs in room - although plenty of space. Should have been 2 large chairs with small table. Breakfast should have been included.
Used this hotel as sleepover to catch the next day a schphol flight for which it is a good price/quality alternative.
Very helpful staff, good facilities, we liked that although it was a business hotel, families were also welcome. The restaurant menus did not offer a great choice and were not suitable for young families, the €18 breakfast was excessive for what was on offer.
Everything about the Mainport Design Hotel in Rotterdam is a thoughtful, and comfortable design experience. From it's location overlooking the historic harbor and adjacent to the Erasmus Bridge to position next to the Tram transit stop...is a well connected position in Rotterdam. My room was very comfortable and a high-design style. Service was excellent throughout, not stuffy or pretentious, but well mannered and accessible. Some 5-star hotels trying too hard to be exceptional, making the visitor feel like it's a privilege just being a guest. But I felt that the hotel and staff really are proud of their facility and are eager to share the good vibe with their clients. Only getting to stay two nights.
Location, size of rooms Over decorated, bit to dark
I liked the freindly nature of the staff, as well as the location of the hotel. Also this is Roseanne Hill who was booked under Diane's booking and stayed in rrom 1101 with my son. yes, breakfast could have been more fresh and varied. The chair in my hotel room fell apart as i sat on it, causing a small but painful injury to my right arm. I am considering making a claim on this. The windows in the room could not close properly, and we did not have control of the heating in our room as it was centrally controlled. Therefore we had to have extra bedding. The hotel was convenient for our trip in other ways. Also on the hotel review, it staed that we would have a free welcome drink on our arrival. The staff were not awre of this when we asked, therefore we did not get our free drink.
Friendly and professional restaurant staff Single bed- when was the last time an adult slept in a single bed!
Cosy environment, interesting design, beautiful furniture and paintings. The staff were courteous and proficient in their jobs. The hotel was a bit too far from the city center.
The staff were very attentive and helpful.
the service of the hotel staff, the size of the room, the view from the room. The main light in the room didn't work properly, the shower was broken...
nice large room (studio)
Heating system was too bad !! very cold...
the decor was very interresting and we enjoyed that Bad service, i.e. room was not cleaned thoroughly, soap and paper ran out during our stay, two lightbulbs weren't working, coffee/tea supplies was not replenished at all during our stay.. The room lay-out was a bit tight and the bedstead sticks out very far, making it very easy to knock your hips when walking around the bed.
Very comfortable room, relaxed atmosphere
Amenities, Nespresso machine were good! TV was very strange. And function of 'Smart TV'(?) didn't work. They didn't give a full detail of method for 'Smart TV' operation. Even remote control didn't work well.
Very stylish hotel. Futuristic. TV in the mirror. Nice!! Excellent breakfast. They even make omelets. This is rare in Europe. Super great staff. Friendly, very helpful. Parking expensive. Even though the hotel does give a discount.
Nice & modern. Bit minimalistic but all things you need in a room. Cool late night bar. I wasn't convinced about the flatscreen TV within the mirror so you couldn't turn it. Parking is extra but they give you a discount as it gets pricey very quickly.
Fabulous terrace looking out to the sea that gives a resort feeling. The personnel were all extremely friendly, efficient and helpful. A great beach hotel especially for a weekend get-away. Close to restaurants and shops if needed. It is not from my experience in todays standards a 5 star hotel, but certainly well above a 4 star. However for the price paid it is in line. Needs some modernising.
Location and facilities No tea & coffe facilities in the room.
One of the three restaurants, Breakers, is right on the beach -- quite a nice experience! Also, the rooms are nicely furnished and the bed is a deligfht!
The sea nearby
The Spa and the friendly personnel
It's great to see a hotel of it's size and age keeping up service and standards. Great pool and the room service breakfast is exquisite. The car park is bit ugly.
Personal attention of staff / excellent bed/quietness furnishing and 'emptyness' of the floors
Service Rooms need re-furbishing/renovation
luxury hotel on the beach
All staff, whether at reception, marketing, restaurants and bar, room service, housekeeping, cleaning staff, were professional, polite, cheerful and efficient. Room armchairs upholstery needs renewal or professional cleaning.
The atmosphere, the quiet rooms, and the large bathtub.
Sauna and great rooms -
The breakfast was wonderful no
Great hotel for families with children. The hotel is a little bit far away from the Leiden, however it is easy to reach the city center for car travellers.
Room was nice and clean and breakfast was good Lack of supervision in pool and kids running around in sauna
It was indeed buffet breakfast, swimming pool There is no possibility to open window to take fresh air from outside.
The hotel is very kid friendly. The buffet breakfast and dinner were very over priced for the quality of the food.
It was perfect with young children. They could run around safely and had the playground and the swimming pool. We also liked the fact that we could hire bicycles at the hotel.
total relaxation in superb enviroment
We really enjoyed our stay here, the rooms were great, very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was sumptuous with lots of choices. All in all, the hotel is perfect for families with young children.
Friendly staff, nice clean rooms We were given 10th floor room which is not ideal but maybe that was the only one availble.
Hotel is dated but very clean. The breackfast is delicious No parking space and the public parking is very very expensive.Free parking from 23 to 12 Saturday to Sunday.
Hotel well positioned near to centre and walking distance to rail station. Good value for money with competant staff. Unfortunately a wedding party was staying at hotel on the Saturday, and were noisily walking the corridors till 3-30am. I'm sure an isolated case though.
The hotel is renovated and up to the latest standards of comfort and luxury. It is quiet and soundproofed. Food is excellent. The only thing to criticize is Internet speed but they do offer a fast paid version if you need that.
It was close to the casino & a nice hotel A little pricey
The staff we encountered was excellent in all areas of the facility, friendly, helpful and professional minor maintenance in the room was required - broken hair blower hose, poor ventalation in the the bathroom
The staff are excellent. The rooms are old,... needs major upgrade.
In general the hotel is very old. The room had a weird smell. The worst Hilton ever!!!
The big bed, size of room, friendliness of staff, the tram stop right across the street from the hotel. Did not like that we could not use the fridge for our own things, and moving anything inside would incur a charge.
Location is what we were looking for. Very good hotel with friendly staff. Would go back and also recommend this place
location close to the town centre, beds very comfortable, possibility to smoke in the room the staff was extremely rude especially the night staff, I also found them quite aggressive
nice hotel lovely bed and pillows, quiet hotel with good service nothing, will definately stay there again
Excellent, high standing hotel The eur 28 charge for the parking of one night!!!
Great sauna and pool facilities. Hotel staff not overly helpful regarding dinner recommendations or sights in and around the area.
Friendly staff. Good facilities. Night room service should be improved. Limited menu and food served cold.
The beds, the cleaning the balcony and the seaside. expensive parking, not so nice staff, expensive breakfast
Very luxurious hotel, gorgeous pool. Well situated. Friendly staff. Sunday nights, the pool is for bathing in the nude only.
The position of the hotel is of course fantastic, right on the sea! The staff is pretty friendly even if some of them looks slightly arrogant... Three things were really not good: under the bed you could find everything! They did not clean at all there. Second the forniture looks old and very "kitsch". Last but not least the the room did not have any terrace and the window was too small and too high, so from the bed u could not sea anything else than the radiator!
the location directly to the beach and the flexibility of the staff.
The breakfast was good , but a little expensive on top of the room rate... The AC was very noisy, but since we were having a room on the street side, it was even more noise to sleep with the window open.
Easy access to the beach and village f Noordwijk. Loading/Unloading did not went smooth. Breakfast is very expensive especially for young kids.
Possibly one of the best hotels in the Netherlands - our stay was absolutely perfect! Staff is extremely helpful and ensures that clients are happy at all times. Spa, bars, restaurants and all other facilities are fantastic.
great experience to stay on the famous ship.rooms where really nice with lots of space. location
We eat in the Lido Cafe Style Restraunt and also the Ala-Cart more upmarket Restaurant onboard and enjoy them both and the value they offered...
bedroom (clean, tidy, good atmosphere); breakfast, lunch, dinner (all very good); total atmosphere on the boat was good
The food and room were excellant!! the querkyness of the place was a great +. A little out of the way, but taxis were on hand. FAB++++ Did not really see Many staff, apart from reception to ask questions to
I feel back in the good old times and it gave me a warm impression. no complaints
nice accomodation, but very expensive food and drink onboard and a quite remote location some distance from the centre. remote location and the high cost of onboard food and drink.
historic ambiance interior rooms are confined, in my opinion
Very loud, no alternative room available, under renovation, no fitness area.
Views from all areas Swivel chairs in water bar too fast after a few drinks!
Location. Breakfast good. Style of rooms was not that I excepted. Whole floor carpet was awful, totally different style than other things. Excepted also more from SPA: No private rooms for changing clothes. No bath jacket + shoes at room.
Room was fantastic and room service excellent. Would go again
Swimming pool and sauna/steamroom were excellent, and free internet access very useful. Easy to find and accessible to tram and metro. Breakfast was expensive.
The hotel was very good value, the rooms were well kept and the staff were very frienly.
We loved the view at the town and the harbour from the 13. etage. The breakfast was good, but expensive. The room was excellent.
The Staff were the kind I would happily employ and had great temperaments suitable to the `Industry. Good position for Museums and a quick ride to Theaters. Beds too soft and ended up with a backache.Pillows too thin for comfort of neck. Smart tap design in bathroom was difficult to decipher re bath or shower etc until shown and no signage or directions to tell you how to use them. Design upmarket utilitarian and found anywhere. Usual expensive mini bars and snacks.
Great location and good connection to public transport Bathroom was rather small
Perfect view from the 12th floor. Nice bar, good service. Cool room.
I absolutely thought the staff was great. From the receptionist(s) - like Miryim to Susanne, to the Morning Breakfast staff - like Zsofia. There were all very helpful, and kind. The roads to get there are still being built out, as such, you seemed to have to drive a circular course to get there. Regardless, it was easy if you have GPS.
One of the worst rooms I have ever stayed - very depressing. Lighting was awful as was furniture. Why such a big room (defined 'suite') if over half is just empty space? It looked like a prison cell.
great location, nice bathroom cleanliness of my room, view to the backside, wifi with charge
Room was nice, not small, extra pillows, mini-bar, some magazines, bathtub (not a shower) in the bathroom.
Central location. Near the train station and near several bars/cafes
The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable We didnt take the breakfast which was a little expensive when our party was 6 people. I think yours should be inclusive of breakfast
Very central location. Next to de Bijenkorf. The room itself is al little bit out-dated. Curtains are a greyish white instead of white. Bed is not the newest of beds. But for the price ok.
Location, price, bar, availability of lifts
Your women personal, very receptive, kind and nice. The position of hotel is in a very nice town area. Is not possible to have something for eat after 11 PM. Fun from toilette is working continously with high noise.
well located in the centre of the city
very elegant, new and hip room interior design. Impressive bathroom. Very clean. Central position. Good breakfast also a bit expensive for the quality. noise from street
The breakfast was good and plenty of choice Building works - noise and dust - no air conditioning
close business area problem pre payment and locking up my debit card until I returned home
very helpful staff, good car parking, and very nice modern bar. Vegtable soup (for a vegatarian!) contained meatballs !!!! - otherwise great food & good service... Lighting in rooms (the older block) is poor, seems to be energy saving, BUT lighting is dim and takes a while to 'warm up'
For the moment of my stay it was reconstruction at the hotel. Very noisy.
Location. Good size room. Comfortable bed.
Huge rooms - with very easy access to the car park
easy reach for towns To much cigarette smoke, No tea/coffee making facilities
Location of hotel is perfect for travelers come with car. Great breakfast. Not 4 stars at all! At least the room we stayed. They were worn/old furnitures in it.
The position of this hotel is excellent for visiting Den Haag and Amsterdam (by car). Efficient service at the reception desk. Not a 4 stars at all! At least the triple room were we stayed. They were worn/old furnitures in it. Also, the internet connection is expensive, too!
Nothing special to comment It is by no means a 4 star hotel - 2 at best
Car parking was ample and place easy to find. Rooms light and airy The photo on the website does not represent a building that looks like a monstrous 1960's toilet block. There is no warning of the significant construction and the noise that starts early in the morning. The barman uses his bare fingers to retrieve a piece of lemon from it's jar and when I asked him if he could use tongs, he just said "no". After that experience, we ate out and skipped breakfast the next day. Not going back.
Its quiet location and the intimate atmosphere. The resturant staff were a bit "overbearing" - talked more than listening to the customer.
rooms, floors and staircases need a serious refreshing ratio. qualit-price much too expensif
I love the location Restaurant service still lacks the extra touch one would expect.
The location nearby hte sea and the dunes. It is in a very scenic location. Lack of reliable public transport from and to the hotel.
Staff were polite and helpful. I arrived one day early and the staff assisted me in getting a place to stay for one night at another hotel nearby. The complimentary breakfast was excellent. Food was great and plenty of coffee for all and you don't have to wait.
Location was just perfect! Restaurant and breakfast was also pretty good. Rooms were not air-conditioned.
Location is superb Accomodation is rather antiquated
Helpfulness of staff Dated and scruffy appearance of bedroom and general lack of facilities. The whole place needs seriously updating
close to The Hague small hallways, oldfashioned, check was not correct, internet not for free, no elevator
I liked the location, the staff and ambience of the hotel. The restaurant is great and I would stay there again. I did not like the fans in the windows that you could not close off at night.
