Supplier choice

Car was bland, but reliable. Beef was that I intentionally asked the staff if there were additional fees charged by Hertz for processing toll charges and they said no. So I passed on the EZPass only to find out that Hertz charged me separately twice to bill me for my expected toll charges. Varying convenience fee amounts too. Beware, these may cost more than the rental itself.

Evidently the car was not cleaned because I found an umbrella, some toys and a bunch of condoms in the rental car. Otherwise it was OK but you may want to make sure that doesn't happen again.

Pros:

Kayak did not successfully make a reservation. When I arrived at Hertz I was notified that I, in fact, never had a reservation, despite my Kayak confirmation email. I will never use Kayak again and I am telling everyone I know never to use this scam service.

Cons:

Kayak could have either made a real reservation or told me the truth that my reservation bounced.
