Service, staff, looked after us very well-no problems Very minor comment-soap bar very small, hard to grasp
Very good service.Polite and efficent.Modern.Comfortable bed and quiet for sleeping. Good facilities.
Location and the bed. Closeness to the airport and Lanbton Quay shopping The cafe downstairs was not open Saturday morning
My stay was quite enjoyable. I was there for a conference so not in the Hotel all that often but I found the staff ect very good
Your staff ! They were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The hash-browns served at breakfast were not nice. Too greasy and tasted as though they were out of a packet. Fresh hash-browns would be a lot nicer.
Friendly & helpful staff, very central to the city, a very clean and quiet room, no disturbances at all. A clearer indication of the alternative lift down to the city would of saved us time in the first day, and re consider the no phone books policy
location, cleanliness of room hotel staff very rude
Location, helpfulness of staff
Fast check in, good room, no street noise.
modern decor,clean,location exellent.
Kids running in hallway No car park for general use - only valet offered and not told how much it would cost
staff were very courteous and helpful food was excellent and our room was very comfortable and well appointed no
The location of this hotel is very good for visits to sporting events. Ease of travel airport or train station, to hotel, to sporting venue is great. Handy to bars and restaurants. Good views over the harbor from some rooms. Semi see through glass wall between bathroom / toilet and bed is a bad concept.
The whole family enjoyed the swimming pool and the spa.
the price that gave me was more than price for other guest about 35%
Ran in the Wellington marathon
It is a conveniently located hotel I had booked a twin bedded room some months before leaving the UK. We were eventually offered a single/double bed and had to have a (very comfortable) "put-you-up" bed squeezed into the room. Seperetely, the restauant manageress was graceless and "sour" and gave a poor impressing of hospitality. I would never stay in the Hliday Inn in Welligton or recommend it ti friends or business colleagues
Location was good and staff very helpful and friendly Room decor and fittings a could use a bit of a redo
That is was clean and quite. Staff were obliging, and everything I wanted to go to whilst in Wellington was within walking distance. Having to pay for car parking was a bit odd!
Great location, comfortable and warm
Only stayed for one night after travelling on ferry from South Island and location was very convenient for this. Upgraded to harbour view room which was comfortable and had everything we needed.
Location to city, pleasant staff, quiet at night. The bed was too small and my husband and i had to sleep in separate beds. I didn't realise a had booked a room with 2 double beds only.
The service was slick and courteous. Facilities were comfortable and classy with a very good range of equipment in the delux kitchen, The hotel staff were friendly and the location was very convenient . This hotel is a refreshing change from the big corporate spreads. A great place for entertaining our family in the separate lounge attached to the. suite Paid internet rates in rooms per day were too high., but you can get free access in lobby.
Very helpful staff, friendly and courtious. The food was very good for room service and breakfast. There was a great view of the small park next door, but other views were limited by the surrounding buildings.
As a repeat client it was great to be welcomed informed manner ie they recognised our home town and made friendly conversation. As we were having a business meeting in our room the request for extra chairs and ground coffee were met instantly.
The views were great. The room spacious and well appointed.
great hotel, offering all that one would require n/a
Great service and good location Poor breakfasts especially the coffee; very expensive car parking
Staff were friendly and ready to please. All staff went the extra mile. Facilities fantastic. Overall would stay again because the staff made it. Not impressed about being charged for mini-bar goods when we didn't take any. Room ok, but could have been cleaner.
Your staff bent over backwards to help me and I appreciated that
Everything about it - as could perhaps be guessed from the fact that it rated 'excellent' on all features above.
Being able to order special pillows
Amazing hotel... big 2 person tub, 2 shower heads in the shower... fantastic location downtown.
Clean, spacious rooms and bathrooms The beds were incredibly comfortable The staff from top to bottom were extremely pleasant and helpful. They epitomize the phrase, "service with a smile."
Staff where exceptionally helpful and allowed me to feel comfortable and safe as I was travelling alone
The location of the hotel was very nice ans the staff was beyond warm and welcoming!
concierge was excellent and helpful. The difference between complaint and not liking something is so fine as to make this impossible to answer. My name incidentally is prosaicly John Walker
The location for shopping, and closeness to the waterfront, particularly the Queens Wharf bars and restaurants, can't be beat. The proximity to the harbour also means attractions such as Te Papa museum are a short pleasant stroll away along the waterfront. The hotel itself is getting on in years now, but still offers quiet, comfortable accommodation with a touch of class. We booked for two separate stays of two and four nights a number of months prior to our trip and were disappointed to find that the entire cost of both stays was deducted from our credit card about two months prior to us actually staying there.
Very convenient location in Wellington for access to all parts of the city, professionalism and knowledge of staff were excellent. Nothing.
Location & the executive lounge Bathrooms need an update
Very Friendly Stff, nothing to much trouble for the few staff we had to deal with directly. Excellent help from the concierge desk!!!
The staff in the Club Lounge were very good, especially Nina. Food quality and presentation in Chameleon Restaurant was excellent. The hotel is centrally located relative to commercial activities, shops and public transport. Underground parking and a guest laundry in the same building is a plus. It is now getting quite tired/dated and in need of refurbishment. Attentativeness of waiters in Chameleon Restaurant could be improved. The lack of a fine dining restaurant separate from the general lobby area detracts from the dining experience. It was disappointing that the bed turn down service did not occur on 2 out of the 7 nights of our stay.
excellent hotel, close to attractions and city centre
The gym and pool facilities were great, very clean and the gym staff were friendly and attentive. I found the administration around my booking very poor. I ended up spending too much of my time reconfirming things I'd already told the staff about my booking and the cost. Generally I found the service of the staff poor given the quality of the hotel - I get much better and responsive service from other quality hotels.
Location The pillows were very uncomfortable
The service was fantastic! The staff were very friendly and welcoming and I felt that they would be able to help with anything I needed help with, very capable. My room was very comfortable and the room service was great. The food was delicious! I didn't have time to use the pool, sauna or gym. The hotel was handy to seeing Wellington and shopping! A few small issues with the cleaning - dirty teaspoons and a mark by the shower that could easily have been cleaned off. I didn't feel that the room was dirty though, it was very comfortable.
it has access to a good nearby gym and the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly
Nice and quiet on the 8th floor. It's within easy walking distance of almost all of WGT main places-to-see. On one day the room was made up only at 2.30pm, but the next day there was a knock on the door at 9.30am from the staff. The hotel has a check-in after 2, check-out by 10 policy and the staff ought to abide by their own rules.
It was very quiet in the room and it had a good shower I would have liked extra bedding. I was a bit cold in bed.
Clean rooms, good restaurant
Enjoyed excellent meals and service in the dining room. Do not want my remarks to be published.
location to Westpac Stadium
The friendly, attentive staff The bed was hard.
The Staff were friendly and very helpful, Nothing was too much trouble. The Girls always greeted e with a smile. Very impressed. Two problems only with my stay. Firstly the chairs in the Restaurant are far too low for comfort and the tables don't accommodate ones legs with ease,Secondly Cafenet inernet connection is useless. I paid $20 and had 5 minutes use of it as I continued to be cut off. It took 4 phone calls to their help desk also one call from your Reception to the help desk, which still didn't solve the problem. Need to change it. I heard the same complaint from other guests
The two bedroom apartment was great. The beds were comfortable and rooms were large. So close to all the great shopping and walking distance to great bars and pubs. The staff seemed to have no information about Wellington and were to eat. The lounge room aka eating area was very small and expensive when you could walk for a few minutes to a great cafe
Staff were very polite. Great room, very spacious, smart and well equipped. Hotel right in centre of city and great for shopping and waterfront. Would definately stay there again. Check in was very slow - about 20 minutes
Proximity to main amenities no
Very convenient location, friendly staff, good price.
The request for clothing left at hotel, to be returned was not achieved. Reason unknown.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The apartment contained everything we could possibly need and the hotel is in a good central position in the city.
Nice Rooms and very handy to everything we needed. We didnt like having a phone call two days before we were due to stay telling us of a mix up in Bookings telling us we couldnt stay at City Life and being put up in another Hotel of very budget Accommodation,(after we had booked 6mths in advance) and told it was going to be of similar quality to City Life, it wasnt until the second night we found out there was actually a room available, not that anyone was going to tell us!
The large rooms and the great location in the middle of the city
may check swap card to sensible
This hotel is in the middle of the shopping/business district in Wellington. Apartment was roomy and comfortable. It would be excellent for a business stay. The view from the window was not attractive as it looked out on a hillside.
Location of the room and the decor was very nice and modern. Did not hear any other people in adjoining rooms. Was not happy with the soap - could have soap for shower as well as hand basin ie shower gel incl. with shampoo/conditioner. Soap was too small. Alos, no hand towels supplied - would like to see/use hand towels when drying hands.
Found the location was great, easy to find our way around from being based there. Staff friendly and helpfull. The shower could have been cleaner when standing in there looking at the door on the left there was black mould. Room 317
rooms were clean and made you feel comfortable and at home. have stayed in hotels where i just wanted to go back home!! it was nice to get double beds as travelling with friend and the size of the room was just perfect.
TheStaff always went out of their way to help. Good central location
All was fine, but was a little disappointed with the size of the room.
I liked that it was close to the TSB Arena, and the shops on Lambton Quay, I liked that it had a restaurant for evening dining and buffet breakfast, service was great, nothing was too much for the stff. I really wanted to be able to make a cup of tea in the room which I could do but had to fill up the jug in the bathroom!,also the room was a bit cramped, but I guess this was unavoidable seeing as we requested a room with two double beds!
Excellent service from the staff....we had a problem and they sorted it right away. Comfortable rooms.
Very flexible and speedy checkin Central air conditioning - but then central AC is to be expected
Handy to Westpac stadium for Phoenix game with pubs close by Room decor was a little dated
job interview, sight seeing a little wander about the main shopping areas like cuba street, the cable car was good tight parking area, understand its being refurbished but lift was unavailable alot of time to carpark, and the park we paid for was used during day for stoarage of building materials for refurbishment.
The location was perfect. The room was clean and the beds are very comfortable. We interacted with 2 staff members from the front desk. One was incredibly helpful and kind. The other was rude and acted as though we were just 'stupid tourists' despite the fact that I would imagine a lot of their business is from tourism. When we valet parked our car, they required that we go down to get our luggage from the vehicle and then had to walk back up the ramp against traffic - very odd considering we paid $34 for one night of parking. Then, seeing how we are not from NZ, and discussed our travels, we were not aware that we had to put our card into this slot near the door to engage any power. This was not obvious to us, and it is not customary in hotels in the US. When we called down to ask if they had an idea why our AC wasn't working, the woman (who also worked with us at the front desk) was clearly irritated with us and acted as though we were idiots. While this seems like a small collection of interactions, it left a very poor taste in my mouth in regards to my stay at Novotel Wellington.
The positive attitude of all staff made one feel most welcome. The room was comfortable, clean and very quiet. The breakfast was excellent. I found the lift down to Lambton Quay really useful.
The location was fantastic and the quick access to Lambton Quay very convenient. Only had a little contact with the staff, but they were very helpful and courteous. As a woman, a little thing like the hair dryer can make a big difference; Trying to dry/style my hair with the Novotel's tiny fitted model that had only 1 speed/heat and had to be operated by holding the button down was very frustrating. Two of the top priorities for women in a hotel room are good lighting and mirror position for make-up and a decent hairdryer. All hotels seem to be the same in this respect and yet it's a small thing that could easily make you stand out from the others.
Good value for money, in particular the restaurant has a great deal for dinner for 2 people. Very clean, comfortable rooms and the staff were very friendly.
Great having lift access down to Quay The bath was small.
The staff were friendly and informative about the surrounding area. The rooms were well presented and clean. There was no outside noise and the room had a decent view of the harbour. Overall it was a nice, comfortable stay and good value for money.
Helpful and courteous staff
the staff were friendly I didn't get the room I booked and paid for - and ended up sleeping on a sofa bed
Staff were okay. It is very central to getting around in Wellington. I have stayed here on 2 previous occasions with family and it was great. However this stay on my own there was no free breakfast as I had apparently booked on the wrong website to get this and I froze in the room despite car5rying out the insructions to change the temperature.
Good location, nice and clean, comfortable beds, great breakfast included in the price. Excellent value for money.
Proximity to everything ie tsb Arena, train station, shopping
I liked the old world charm and friendly service. The breakfast was very good and prepared from scratch. The standard room was very small but we were upgraded the next night to a lovely, spacious room. The standard room would be fine for a one-night business stay for one person.
Good, quiet and genteel atmosphere centrally located. Basic room was a bit on the small side and didnt like the double bed pushed against an outside wall. Ok for single but not for double. Bathroom on the other hand was big with plenty of room. Full breakfast at $30 was expensive and you should consider making it an all inclusive B&B price.
staff were friendly, smiley. They kept my luggage in the store room before check-in and after check- out so that I can walk around in town.Nice big bathroom. So quiet night and day. I didn't like a big photo of old man( president od something) in the room, staring at me.Hope they had a stainless kettle instead of an old plastic one. There was only one staff in the morning to serve breakfast, and to serve people at the reception.had to wait for a while for my tea.I felt sorry for her doing everything on her own.
The staff were very attentive. The hotel was well situated near the waterfront. The breakfasts were very good. We like hotels with old world charm and character but the Wellesley seems quite run down and somewhat tired in general appearance.
The location was great and booking a parking space meant that we had no problem finding somewhere to park anytime of the day or night room looked a bit tired, must be due for a make over soon, but this did not and would not put us off staying again.
The location of the Quest to the locate attractions - within walking distance We were only provided with two towels for three guest - spare/more towels should be provided for the number of paying guests
Continental breakfast advertised on website was not available, we were advised by hotel staff to walk to McDonalds on Lambton Quay. DVD's hired as per hotel's in-house booklet were unreturnable due to absurd hours of video shop requiring a lengthy verbal discussion with management regarding the return of a bond deposit on the DVD. The queen size bed in the room was pushed against a wall which required both people getting into the bed from the same side. The room advertised on the website did not accurately reflect the view of our neighbour's window and raised highway visible from our window.
It was only tolerable Ironing board had nasty sharp metal lumps on the ironing surface excessive traffic noise poor decorating quality with paint splashes over shower fittings and glass cannot watch TV from bed toilet cistern ran continuously no paper or biscuit
Great inner city location. Parking for our large van was difficult to find in the area.
I enjoyed the amount of space, the design and cleanliness of the room. Value for my money was really great, as well as the staff. I would highly recommend this hotel. 'pay per view' movies would have been the only bonus towards my stay.
too little sachets for tea, coffee, etc.
Closeness to town and the Westpac Stadium. Parking - Difficult to get into the parking building.
Where it was situated close to city center and facilities in the room Paint peeling and rust around the window and privacy film peeling off the window
Room facilities were great, full cooker, hobs, microwave etc... Staff were generally unable to answer basic questions about accomodation e.g. the room comes with use of the gym a few doors down the block, "how do I access the gym?" - "I think you just need your key, sorry I don't know". - The gym was closed when I arrived anyway! e.g.2 "I really want to watch the rugby in the middle of the night, do I get Sky Sports 1 in the room?" - "I'm not sure, I can contact the manager and let you know if you leave your mobile number with me" - to be fair he did contact me and I did watch the game...so all good. e.g. 3 when calling at 7pm via intercom. "I've booked a car park behind the hotel and need to get access, can you open the gate for me". "the carpark?" - and then hung up. The gate was not opened.
The hotel has character. Location is good, outside of city center hence quiet, but still close (short walk from the botanical gardens). Good value, free parking and WiFi). Free breakfast means granola milk and canned fruit, however still a very good value. Thin walls.
