Friendly staff member upon check in, helpful with car parking. Excellent view of Wellington. We were put in a room next door to a generator or air con unit, there was a constant noise like having a dryer going, and a scratching/creaking against the wall where the bed was. Could not sleep so checked out at 430 am and drove home to get some sleep, was not asked if we enjoyed our stay.
The view & proximity to shops etc Smell of old cigarette smoke in the room
Central to all that we wanted to do which was catch up with brother from Sydney Australia so cancel out a sober driver and do not waste money in a taxi home - so for that perfect and added an element of romance.
We had a waterfront view that was beautiful. The room felt luxurious. It was big with a nice size bathroom also. The location was perfect for checking out the town. Clues to Cuba Street, Te Papa Museum, the waterfront and downtown. It was far too expensive for us to eat there. Continental breakfast was $50 for two. Too much money for toast.
Convenience in a safe and secure environment
Convenient - proximity to Te Papa. Accessability. Ready availability and response from staff. Efficient. Good hospitable and friendly atmosphere. Bathroom starting to appear a bit tired - in terms of maintenance (peeling paper, cracked tiles, etc) rather than in terms of the actual amenities.
the large room and cleanliness of the room it really is out of our price range
Having friends in the same hotel!
Central locality, nice staff, comfy bed, nice bathroom No wine in mini bar! Repair work needed on ceiling in bathroom above shower - a bit shoddy
Its centrality The bathroom had a bad smelling drain twice through the day, but it cleared at night. I also had to pay personally rather than through my university's account as pre-arranged, as there seemed to be a problem with the systems at reception.
Staff very friendly, service good and very handy to Wellington Central.
The Vista suites are part of another building and do not have airconditioning. The rooms are small by todays standards. It was quite a warm day and night and the windows and door had to be opened. Given Wellington is so windy this has its drawbacks and especially noise overnight.
Great location, friendly staff, nice views
I liked the luxery and cleanliness of the room. The view was lovely and the vicinity to the city was convenient. There was no spa pool.
The location is excellent and close to Courtney place with the nightlife. The staff were friendly and helpful. The views from the rooms were great. The quality was average, but the bathroon is poorly set up. It was impossible to turn the shower on without get wet. The water did not drain away prperly. The toweks were small. The room was warm but the hotel was quite cold.
The staff were cooperaative and extremely helpful. Wonderful
The room was excellent with a fantastic view over the bay, & very convenient for the retaurants.
Excellent views across the bay, short walk to city center. The room should have had a safety deposit box, but didn't. I like to store my valuables, which couldn't.
The service and friendly staff and special mention to reception and Sonia (restraunt am) The pillows in the room had no depth or support
The room, the view, the restaurant and the curtious staff Nothing
The views from the room and it's proximity to the city. Bathroom though functional was a bit small.
The location, view, balcony, bed, space, The coffee in the Dining room, I would like to have known about the small bar/coffee area, just outside the dining room initially as I would have used it.
I enjoyed overlooking the boats in the marina, and seeing the city lights on the harbour at night.
Had a very comfortable room.Good&close to other resturants &TePapa
The gorgeous foyer and art. The proximity to the pier, restaurants and shopping. The rooms didn't really match / were a step down from the first impression in the foyer.
We appreciated the friendliness of the staff and the service they provide. We also enjoy the environment and location.
the location was excellent for the Te Papa museum, but a bit of a trek from other central facilities. the room was comfortable and well equipped. the harbour view room did have a limited view of the harbour, but mainly of the Te Papa museum, which is so vast it blocks much else out. We found the breakfast rather over-priced and pretentious - we had to ask for butter and, when it came, it was a tiny pat scarcely adequate for one, but in a tiny china container.
The decor is spectacular... the staff are very attentive and client focussed Nothing!!
Staff so friendly and helpful. Coffee recieved at the desk was quite revolting....
This is a nice hotel in a good location. the staff are friendly but somewhat ineffectual in relation to our issues. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. the bathroom was generous and well appointed. There is a reasonable gym and a small lap pool We had a bad room: the air-conditioning did not work for all of the three nights we stayed there. So the nights were stuffy and had to leave a door open until the noise was too much. This room is right under the restaurant kitchen so we got a lot of floor noise especially at cleaning up time from 10 pm till after midnight and then again for breakfast in the morning. We know kitchens make noise so they can't be criticised but it was a bad choice to locate a room underneath. We did not eat there at all. There are many good restaurants nearby with prices and menus that are more attractive. I understand the hotel has been refurbished but I did not think for the price we should have had to discover the problems.
Staff were super friendly and accommodating. There is a modern and boutique style room, the staff happily changed my room and made my stay enjoyable. Rooms were large with a very comfortable bed. Also had an espresso coffee machine in the room!
Familiarity - I have been here before. High class with interesting decour in a vibrant city. The entrance from an "underground" car park does not do the hotel justice
The walk in area, the corridors and the and the quietness are all good. The room was spacious. I thought a few of the staff on the counter lacked the quality of the hotel. They asked me me payment after i had made an internet booking/payment and nd were not as friendly/smile as the cost of the hotel would suggest.
The atmosphere in the downstairs lobby, the convenient location the great room rate. The ground coffee I received on checking in. The cooking smells on the third floor, the shower - not strong enough.
Very relaxing - staff very helpful. Will visit again! We were interupted early for room cleaning - esp when we were not checking out.
Location to centre city, room quality and size. Very hot early morning when sun hit windows, too noisy to open doors, need air conditioning.
There were no pots, pans etc to utilize the cooking facilities
Location, within walking distance to shopping areas, Tepapa and some fine Restaurants. The cooking facilitates were good, Bathroom great, really liked the fact that there was a bath as well as a shower. Found it firstly confusing to access the carpark and the apartment, on our arrival. Found that the stairs were difficult to access, especially when called to evacuate the building during a fire alarm. Sometimes it was a inconvenience to use swipe card to operate lift, door to apartment and to control the power.
location good size room and amenites getting bed bugs!!!!!
right next door to a wonderful food shop, and close to the opera we went to minor point, but TV not visible from loung seats! needs to be on a swing bracket mount
Nice new modern trendy and friendly. Maybe airconditioning
New apartments, very well equipped and very central. Kitt was our main point of contact on the reception desk and he was extremely helpful. If you recieve and apartment at the back you will most certainly experience noise as you are a matter of feet away from a multi storey car park.
Location and access to reasonable and close parking. Well equipped kitchen and laundry. Modern design. Only a single seat lounge chair in sitting room facing TV. Room was booked for a couple. Only option for second person was to sit on floor or straight back dining chair. Noise levels from the street. Windows had to be be open due to lack of air conditioning
The only thing that I like about the appartment was the location
The rooms were very clean, bright and new. Appliances worked well and it had everything we needed for a longer stay. Nothing - it was great.
Friendly and accommodating staff. Great location. Was on 3rd floor facing Tory Street. Lots of early morning street noise (mainly garbage truck and street sweepers).
Location and Parking, Pleasant room, very good evening meal We didn't appreciate the poor dress of people in the dining area at breakfast. One man in a tank top exposing tatoo and arms, another man in beach shorts and scruffy shirt, jandals. In Europe this would not be permitted in the hotel and often in the towns
I had a back room and I appreciated the quiet.
The friendly and helpful staff at all times. The location of the hotel.
the staff offered a friendly, efficiant service & always with a smile, which sadley, is all to often neglected.
Very helpful efficient staff, processed payment fast all excellent
excellent service from the staff. Treated very well . Accommodating to my requests ie later check out.
It was central to all our requirements - Te Papa, city shopping, cafes, restaurants and Opera House. We could leave our car parked safely at the hotel while we walked to these venues. The lack of airconditioning. We needed to leave our windows open for air and it was very noisy out in the street.
Quick nand easy breakfasts No outdoor area such as a small terrace to sit on.
Very pleasant and helpful staff, clean and bright and very reasonable tariff for excellent location in downtown Wellington
this hotel did not live up to my expectations its was very unprofessional managed and at peak times in the morning the front desk was under manned to the breakfast or lack of breackfast service all in all an experince not to be repeated
Great city location, very freindly reception stuff. If you book, do not stay in flats 1001 or 1002 (anything which ends with 1 or 2) since these apartments are really small and with no view. Stay in those ending with 3 or 4 and higher up. No shelving in rooms. Very limited utensils: only 1 frying pan. Broken iron, dirty top of microwave, holes in bed sheets etc. Not good enough for price we paid. The building needs upgrading. All a bit tired. Only 1 washing machine availbale for all guests!!! (on floor 10).
The location was great and the appartment was really spacious with a great view around at the city. The personal was friendly and was always really helpful.
Location Had a lot of trouble understanding one of the receptionists as she had a very thick accent. Then spoke to other receptionist who was extremely friendly and helpful.
The view of the harbour from our apartment, the close proximity yet quietness of the location and the attentiveness of staff. Our frig required defrosting on arrival
The veiw from the 16th floor at night, looking out over the harbour, and watching the ferry come in. The rude trainee rececptionist that could hardly speak english. The cracked toilet surround was disgusting. The window seals leaked, allowing the wind to blow the curtains around all night, even with all the windows shut. There is no eating facility on site. The room price was very expensive compared to other more appointed hotels. Not enough towels left in the room.
Good facilities and a spacious room. The overwhelming white decor would be oppressive after a few days. No problem for a weekend though.
The location. It was handy to town. The staff were not able to answer any questions on nearest bus / train routes. They did not know where the main shopping centre was or how to get there.
The position, close to the city and within walking distance of most venues and activities. The apartment was fine. Thought it was great, the drain out side on the balcony needs to be repaired.
We enjoyed the location of the hotel it was so central to everything we did during our stay. The staff were also very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. There was nothing we did not like about the hotel.
convinient location to Te Papa and restaurants Ideal location for transfer to RV rental vehicles for tourists window catch broken
We were early and could go to our room, the room was heated and wellcoming no
Bay Plaza was clean, comfortable and quiet - considering how close it was to a very busy road. For me it was perfectly well placed for easy access to Downstage Theatre which was my specific destination, to my friends' apartment in Cable Rd/St and to the Embassy Theatre. I would recommend it for it's cleanliness and convenience.
nice staff and location a bit old, need some renovation
Close to Te Papa and restaurants. Small tv and no balcony. Quite noisy at night.
Staff were helpful and friendly on front desk and in restaurant. Rooms are very small and quite dated, felt it was a bit over priced. Phone didn't work but staff may not have been aware as it was very dusty!
This hotel is so well positioned and belongs to bye gone era which new hotels do not have .It has its own retro feel about .it is the best hotel in Welly. Do not like television but if I did one would have to tv is poor receprion wise . Glad that it is so.Internet booking did not come through just as well we had our print out.
location Room decor
Friendly staff in the restaurant at breakfast .
It was close to the venue I was attending. Also close to shopping. It would be good if there was some sort of air conditioning in the rooms as it was very hot and the window do not open enough to make a difference.
