The "Weekend for Lovers" package is excellent value, the room was very comforable, and the set meal in the restaurant was excellent, well-presented, and interesting cuisine. No
One of my party is disabled and their facilities are excellent. I was really please that it was very easy for him to move around, no stairs to negotiate - what can I say excellent.... and we enjoyed it too!
Great staff, great hotel! Made me feel very welcome. The hotel rooms are very big, clean and nicely decorated. The food is delicious.
Room was nice - spacious with a great bathroom/shower, Pools and spas are Outstanding, running trails around hotel are numerous. Meals, while a bit pricey were delicous. location - not great if you are without a car. Not much within a short walking distance. Train runs nearby - not overly loud but you can hear it with the windows open.
great venue, the hotel room was perhaps the best styled room we have used, and would compare easily with the luxury chains. The spa facilities far exceed the description on the web, great value no hesitation in recommending
The room was very nice. The restaurant was a bit too expensive according to the food offered. Not saying that the food was bad. It just didn't match the price.
Excellent staff very friendly and helpful most also spoke English Our room was an odd shape, would have liked some English language TV
All was ok, from friendly staff to nice breakfast, but it could be a little bit less expensive.
Very friendly, both recption & restaurant, with good facilities and a first rate buffet breakfast.
Quietness and peace in second room. Noise from patio whilst trying to sleep and lack of proper blackout blinds. Requested change of room after sleepless first night.
Perfect location for country walks, great value.
Quiet; good food; Plastic undersheets on beds!
We much enjoyed our stay the hotel is delightful and the restaurant for both dinner and breakfcast is excellent. Staff are very friendly. Wish it had an elevator.....
Breakfast The bedroom was like a hospital bedroom.
Very friendly staff, quiet and beautiful surroundings. Nice breakfast.
Spacy, well equipped, quiet and perfectly clean rooms (216 + 217). Cosy restaurant with good food. Very good value for price
location In the floor we stay, there were a lot of strange people speaking loudly and not closing the door. Scaling and bad feeling about that.
Friendly staff in reception, perfect food in the restaurant, stylish design of the restaurant. Hot water first doesn´t leak and after 2 min. it leaks eighter very hot or cold. Is very difficult adjust right temperature. We were waiting ca 25 min. for the beer and payment in the restaurant.
proximity to station strange smell of cooking at all times in the rooms
The hotel staff, from the receptionist to the cleaning staff, had positive attitudes, went out of their way to provide assistance, and were extremely polite.
Good food and central in Wesel Some unfinished repairs in room and television defective in one of two rooms
I really enjoyed my stay here. I only stayed 1 night but the room for the money was such a great value, I wish I'd stayed here my entire trip to Wesel. I was impressed and felt very comfortable. Also loved the location. Would definitely stay here again.
free wifi, nice rooms, smoking bar
Very clean rooms with good facilities. Excelent meals in restaurant. Friendly and accomodating staff.
Pleasant welcome. Excellent dinner. Good breakfast. Quiet location. Our room was not a no-smoking room, as requested.
the staff were friendly and helpful and the evening meal we had there was excellent, also the location was perfect for us as it was almost exactly half way to our final destination tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have been nice
very pleasant could do with tea making equipment in rooms
Nice staff, nice restaurant, nice place to be, very good value...
fresh & new hotel
Great place to stay. Quiet and peacful. recommended
The food in the restaurant was surprisingly good. Real gourmet based on local ingredients. It's in the middle of knowhere.
Nice hotel, staff was very fiendly. Good location for exploring the area.
great breakfast further from NRN (Weeze airport) than expected -- 30 minute drive
Good hotel, clean rooms, no city noise.
location, calm, facilities/services
Quiet rooms and comfortable beds No coffee/tea making facilities in the rooms
Location was ok Car Parking.
Value for money = ****** Eu smokingpolicy not implementet
quiet, nice village, location 30 minutes from dusseldorf . exallent brakfast!! loved the classic german brakfast. poor internet reception. could get it only at the reception floor. very good hotel resturant- full with locals all the time. internet reception. no dry cleaning/laundery service.
The room was full of old characterful furniture. Cycle storage was good. Breakfast was good. lots of choice. Very well placed for town visit
This is a traditionally furnished hotel in a very convenient location for the town. Staff are helpful and food is good no complaints at all
An elegant and welcoming hotel. Very efficient and offering a comfortable stay Nothing - I was very happy with everything the hotel offered
The setting the soft,unsupporting beds
Nice Rhein river views. Smart rooms and friendly staff. Very nice town (Rees), where you can find many sport and relax activities (hiking, bycicle paths and routes, some amusement park in the sourroundings for kids). Very clean and nice hotel. Being an international hotel, courtains or shuts to close the light in the windows would be nice. The sun rises at 05:15 am, so you can´t go on sleeping from that on. For breakfast, much more fruit would be needed. No international tv channels available.
Great location, nice staff, good food. internet was working poorly, but the staff was very helpful and promised they would take care of it.
Modern, clean, hotel in a superb riverside location. Small, old, walled town close by.
The rate Internet rate
Nice, clean and comfortable hotel. Good breakfast in the restaurant looking out over the river Rhine. Helpfull staff.
Amazing restaurant food and great customer service
Sat on the sunny verandah and watched the boats on the Rhine No
Very friendly staff , comfortable and tastefully decorated room , excellent breakfast.
we stayed at the main house, very nice and hospitable staff, excellent breakfast
Pretty good value, especially as it included breakfast. A pleasant 20 minute walk into Xantem which is a lovely town. Beds a little hard, shower room was small and our room (number 1) was next to the dining room/Reception, so although the hotel was in a quiet location, our room was not. Avoid Room 1.
We are Americans who were welcomed and made to feel comfortable immediately; the staff were very warm and helpful. And we booked a massage for the next day which was outstanding: done in front of a fire by an excellent masseuse. We enjoyed our stay very much and would happily return. As in many of the German hotels we have stayed in, more bed pillows would have been nice.
Very good value for money, hotel was clean, quiet, and staff very welcoming. I would certainly stay again next time I'm in that area.
Quiet place, friendly staff, excellent breakfast
Excellent hotel, very friendly staff. Absolutely recommendable!
sleeping in a castle is a pretty nice idea. the hotel is very clean, staff friendly and in the morning you have your table reservation for breakfast, which offers a wide range, next to a knight. wonderful experience. Nearby are some beautifully cute old towns that are worth seeing wifi in the rooms had to be paid, but you could get it in the main hall for free
very special, very kind staff
A very welcoming and unassuming ambience that was both comfortable and relaxed. A mix of vert traditional with contemporary - a clever conversion of a chateau dating back to 1256. The surrounding lake was a bit too still with a stagnant pungency at shore line - it needs to have water movement to clear this. The lake also backed onto a main road which did spoil the "fairy tale" aspect a bit.
Wonderful breakfast in historical cellar of the main building (castle). I stayed in separate building; the room was spacious but not necessarily well-furnished. Bathroom had been renovated and it was beautiful, very spacious to include walk-in shower! Room was tidy but not clean; there were food crumps on carpet and debris on floor, and dusty. Bring your own pillow; the pillows are the large, oversized square pillows that are so big they are under your shoulders; they are horrible down feathers and I asked for another pillow my second night--and it was much worse, it was also huge oversized square that was so hard you could not sleep. Location is not great if you're touring; unless you're staying at the castle for an event, stay in Kalkar or Xanten.
Living in a casle - that was an excelent experience. It was out of season so pretty quiet - but in my opinion made it even more enjoyable.
Excellent service, lovely atmosphere of old castle, actually the atmosphere during breakfast was the best I have ever experienced in the hotel, and I travel on weekly basis. Big room in old style, nice bathroom, big comfortable bed. Being there was like an adventure, very positive!!! Small TV set
We have been trying to trace the castle where my father drowned and we thought it could be Anholt. All the staff were most heplful, Dr van Krugten from the museum, organised a private tour for us and phoned several people to gather information. One of the older men from the village visited us to see if he could help and the hotel lent us an english speaking waitress to interpret for us. Anholt Castle is a beautifully kept hotel in a lovely setting Maybe the restaurant is a little on the expensive side!
Nice location, ideal most for winter time, it travels you in another century there is was not air condition in the room at the temperature was more than 37C
Beautiful, romantic, warm and welcoming. A stylish, luxury hotel in a fantastic setting. no
This castle was amazing! The staff went out of their way to take care of our every need. Fresh flowers in the room and bathroom, fresh fruit, pastries waiting for us. There was a small mix up regarding the price of the room but it was totally our fault, yet they gave us free champagne to make up for our mistake. We got the package stay and instead of just picking our four courses for us, we got to choose any four courses from the menu and the food was so amazing! We definately want to go back as soon as the weather is better so we can check our their massive gardens. I just can't say enough about this hotel!
Wonderful!! We had such a great time. Good bathrooms and beds. You can walk in the gardens (free) and the car is on a private parking space. Don't forget to have a guided tour in the castle, which has a great collection of art (not free of admission). Nothing at all, we just loved to stay in the castle
wonderful atmosphere nothing
It is a wonderful location, being at a castle with some ancient history. next time I would like to see the exibition of paintings and the library. I had a nice room with modern facilities Can't think of anything....
Very friendly and helpful staff. I booked the car park but as I found a place in the adjoining public parking space, they cancelled the booking for the car park without any problem.
The reception staff were absolutely lovely and extremely helpful. Breakfast was fantastic and the bed very comfy!
Comfortable room; excellent shower; plenty of coffee at breakfast!
Good location, generous breakfast and bike storage.
Excellent breakfast choices. Location 100yards from town square/Christmas market, with parking facilities on site. The internet connection did not seem to reach the second floor Room 33 ( it was the furthest place from the reception desk) the first floor stair well was the best location for us!! Hardly a complaint, just an observation.
Everything was clean, well-supplied and the breakfast was excellent. Our room was on the top floor with sloping ceilings, small window and no lift for the last ascent. There was no air conditioning, so the room was a bit stuffy in July.
Centre of old town, very hospitable hotel in an hospitable town: excellent
Good and friemdly Service. No bath room exhaust fan. Leaking shower. Poor quality hot water for shower.
Although short stay very nice hotel and friendly staff
Friendly staff, meals (breakfast and dinner); nice and quiet place (at the time we were there)
The staff was very friendly and helpful at this quaint hotel. It is a beautiful place in a small German boarder town to the Netherlands. Good value for money. Lots of walking trails around to explore close to Rhine region.
Small and nice family run hotel in the quiet village of Isselburg-Werth, not far from the towns of Bochum, Borken, Emmerich, Kleve and Munster. The hotel has a very nice winter garden and terrace on the Issel river. Clean and comfortable room and bathroom (shower/toilet). Also appartments available (p.e. for families). Very good breakfast buffet for only Eur 5 per person (not included in room rate). For golf players ... within radius of about 30-40 car minutes you will find more then10 golf courses.
Friendliness of staff and quality of food N/A
Room was spacious and well laid out. Would have been nice to have a hair dryer. Need a plug bar to handle simultaneous charging of cell phone, computer, and other devices.
We expected one hotel room, but we got a whole appartment with two bedrooms, a kitchen area and very large toilet/shower/ wash basin room. My son and I now each had our own room. Quite a strong smoking air, even some ash on the kitchen floor. Stumbling noises at 2 in the night of other guest, maybe because of fair 'kirmis' in neigbouring town.
nice staff, clean rooms, comfortable, good value for the money
We had a reservation for a 'family room' which turned out to be an 2-bedroom apartment with an ante-room and a spacious bathroom. Excellent! The setting of the hotel is very nice, straddling the river Issel - our rooms were on the other side of the river, so in the morning we had to take a lovely little footbridge across the Issel. I guess that this can be unpleasant if the weather is foul... The children loved the 'fish TV' in the breakfast room.
