9.3 Excellent
Pros: Glen na Smole is a lovely property which is maintained to a very high standard. There is a spacious conservatory for breakfast and a large living room too. The house is in the middle of countryside so very quiet and with attractive views on all sides. When we asked for a number to phone a taxi, the landlady very kindly drove us into town herself and also recommended somewhere to eat that evening which proved a very good choice. All in all, the property was much better for some others which charged a lot more which we had stayed in on the same holiday.
Cons: We had a twin bedded room at our request and my only criticism is that the beds were rather narrow.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our lovely room and bath. ALSO the delicious breakfast and the friendly easy way our host had. She even got my washing in when it rained!Fab friendly dog.Felt at home.

Pros: Frank gave us a lovely welcome and made sure we had all we needed. Room is basic but comfortable and functional. Shower was spotless and very relaxing after a long day's walking. There is a pub/restaurant just across the road, and there are cooking facilities in the room (hub, microwave, kettle). Perfect for a walking/outdoor holiday!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful peaceful location. Very comfortable room. Very warm welcome from the owner
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, on the Wicklow Way. Very clean bathroom, comfortable bed and a small but good kitchen that was exactly I needed. Good view of the rolling hills in front! The receptionist was friendly and gave me some free food.
Cons: I wish the bathroom had some hooks to hang clothes and towels. I was expecting (according to the Wicklow Way official website) that the lodge will provide free pick up and drop off to do my Wicklow Way walking. But it was not the case... They do NOT provide transport at all. I had to call very expensive taxis instead. So disappointed, I had to give up my second paid night and left for another accommodation which provides transportation! They do not provide breakfast either, and there is no grocery store nearby! I guess if you are driving yourself and well-prepared for your cooking ingredients, then this is the place for you.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Maura & Frank were so friendly. Always a good start to have a welcome treat - chocolate bars with our cuppa & milk in fridge. Glad we stayed 3 nights to appreciate the special ambience of this peaceful location. Good pub meals across the road.
Cons: A hook on bathroom door maybe to hang towels?

Pros: Traveling to Carnew,County Wicklow,Ireland from Canada,to visit family. Unfamiliar with roads, route etc. the Coach house is right on a main road, easy to locate and we were given directions to our family in Carnew that saved us time. The owners were extremely warm and knowledgeable about the area and made us feel at home from start to finish. Breakfast menu had something for everyone and you knew they would cook to any dietary needs. Greeted with smiles and a hand shake and said good bye the same..I would recommend staying here for value in every way..
Cons:
8.0 Excellent
Pros: What's not to like? From the friendly & warm hospitality of Mick & Barbara to the decor and ambience of the house, I loved it and will definitely return. I liked the presence of pets about the place too...very homely feel. I was sitting outside on the 2nd evening and Mick came over to ask if I would like a complimentary glass of wine. Very nice touch and I gladly accepted. At the Old Coach House they operate an "honesty bar" in the guest lounge, this was good because my friend & I preferred to return to the beautiful lounge for a nightcap & a chat. All in all, possibly the most welcoming & charming guest house ive stayed in to date.
Cons: No complaints

Pros: Good value for money and wonderful resort
Cons: Despite we booked a family room they said for safety reasons their policy doesn’t allow 2 adults and 3 small children in one room!! And for this reason they wanted us to book an extra room. I can’t understand is it safe to keep a child by himself in one room or to split each parent in one room by himself!!!

Even though the hotel was extremely busy it was very enjoyable to eat there with friends. The bedroom was very comfortable and spacious and the bathroom was excellent.
Cons: Unfortunately for us it got very busy with families later in our stay and there was noticeably more noise during breakfasts. It was much less relaxing. Similarly, it was more crowded in the bar restaurant in the evening and difficult to get seating as no reservations were possible. In the bedrooms there was a continuous drone from machinery which was not the room air conditioning.

Pros: A wonderful hostess, excellent accommodation with a perfect breakfast. The room was very comfortable and quiet, with a great view. The whole stay was refreshing. If we are in the area again, we would book Lough Dan House.
Cons: I have no faults at all with Lough Dan house. Praise indeed.

Pros: Theresa was a wonderful host, breakfast was great.
Cons: Be ready to drive up the steep gravel road
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The structure is located in a very nice and quiet area in the middle of the nature, perfect to explore the surrounding area. The room was large, bright and clean as well as the private bathroom. The staff was very kind and helpful, suggesting tracks around the property and available to listen our questions. The breakfast was included in the price and very tasty, with a great variety of choices. There is also the opportunity to have dinner for an extra price. The Wi-Fi connection was good and pretty fast. Parking is free right outside the structure.
Cons: The only negative aspect is that the temperature in the room was too warm and we could not find a thermostat to adjust it. The dinner was expensive considering the quantity of the food.

Pros: Welcoming owners and lovely room and food.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was good but it took too long to be served. They seemed to be short of staff.
Cons: This is not a 4 star accomodation. Some chairs and a small table would have helped in the bedrooms. What was provided was very basic accomodation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was very good - the staff were so kind, the food was delicious and the rooms were gorgeous!
Cons: The wifi was a little bit slow, but everything else was grand.
6.8 Good
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Poor breakfast and waiting too long for breakfast
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were wonderful and very accommodating and the food and room were very good. This B & B has a very unique vibe being also part local restaurant/ pub so you really get an authentic Irish small town experience which we really appreciated.
Cons: We were there during a hot spell so the lack of AC in the room made the room too warm during the day.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Friendly staff at breakfast. Very nice and spacious room. Comfortable beds. Plenty of parking spaces in a separate car park at the end of the street.
Cons: Stayed three nights and didn't sleep well. We were in room 12, above the pub, which was probably why our stay wasn't great. There was no blind on the window so we woke up very early on the first day. The staff offered to put a towel over the window to help. On the second night we were woken at 6am by the sound of furniture being moved downstairs in the pub. On the third night, there was the constant noise of a fan coming from the pub or the next room. The Internet access was also very poor in our room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Jacobs Well was the perfect location for us who wanted to walk in the Wicklow National Park! Everything is close by. The rooms were attractive and spacious (family room). All staff was really friendly, the landlord and landlady super attentive and always supportive. They could even assist us with an additional adapter for continental plugs. The pub food was excessively good, breakfast available in various choices, healthy ones as well as yummy ones!
Cons: Some minor details should be changed, e.g. the number of coat hangers (3) in the room’s beautiful wardrobe. Also the room’s TV which is rather small.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location to scenery and restaurant and comfortable bar , dinning area.
Cons: Noisey at 5.35 hoovering bar for breakfast and dragging chairs and tables across the floor. Tea and coffee facilities on landing not in each room.
4.3 Okay
Cons: Overbooked terrible experience
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every thing was amazing
Cons: Nothing

5.3 Okay
Pros: Location, bed was fine, quiet area

The Meetings - Avoca - Building
19
8.8 Excellent (747 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Avoca, The Meetings is a 4-minute drive from Mill at Avoca Village and 6 minutes from Avoca Mines.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The setting is absolutely stunning! Lovely to be able to sit outside and have a drink on the upper and lower decks, and also access the river from the picnic site across from The Meetings. The rooms were comfortable, neat and clean.
Cons: The dining area is in a spectacular setting, but could really do with an update in furniture and decor. The bar area at the entrance is not very 'inviting'. The deck needs some maintenance and there are maintenance issues throughout the venue e.g. dining area, toilet area downstairs, upstairs deck. It was clean, but felt 'grubby'. The dinner we had on the Thursday evening was average. My daughters' Carbonara was swimming in oil, the lasagne was dry, and the burger patty also very dry but tasty. We did not enjoy the radio being on the whole time, we would've preferred listening to music during dinner. We felt that the hotel is in the perfect setting for people to explore the stunning area, and should really take advantage of this by upgrading decor and meal offering.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is are very good place to explore the Wicklow Mountains and Glendalough. The house is located on a very nice place. The breakfast was really great. There was a small buffet with cheese and cold cuts, and a lot of different cereals, toast coffee, tea and orangejus. You can choose between full Irish Breakfast or ham and eggs. There is a small pub in the house where you can sit in the evening and have a drink.
Cons: Everything was fine.
6.3 Good
Cons: It was very hot inside, restaurant was closed, but the bar was great!

Cons: Hooligans up and down the road outside wheel spinning and racing their cars until late at night.

Cons: What a great beautiful place overlooking where 2 rivers meet, wonderful friendly staff, excellent food and very nice accommodations.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice peaceful location. Good service, and nice breakfast of your choice included. Room a bit cramped. Good selection of beers - I'd never had McGargle's before, but it was great!
Cons: Restaurant not open in the evenings except Thurs-Sun, which was a pity as the food was quite good. No guest lounge.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, very helpful staff.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location friendly staff
Cons: A fan in room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a very nice place to stay and had great breakfast. I was able to check in early to make it to the wedding close by and it nice and quiet during the night. I can definitely recommend it! While there was a boil notice in the area, they provided detailed information and bottled water to use for tea/coffee.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Meeting of the Waters is a magical spot in the beautiful Wicklow mountains. It's an old building, and we were pleasantly surprised to find how up to date our room was. There is a nice balcony that all guests can use..
Cons: It was warm, no air conditioning in Ireland, but our room came with a very nice fan. The water was unthinkable, but they provided bottles water.
