A truley personalised service by the owner and a quality breakfast
I liked the cleanliness and the comfortable beds. The room was also large with a good sized bathroom. I also liked the provision of nice shower gel, soap, biscuits, coffee and tea.
within walking distance of town centre and plenty of car park space
welcoming and helpful landlady
staff were there but not in your face
I enjoyed my one night stay
Tha bathroom was very light and it was good to be the only people in the hotel. The bed was comfortable and the rooms werre warm. The room was quite dark in the daytime and there was no view and no armchair (nor any chair). It had no bath. It was small compared to overseas hotel rooms but not compared with other British. The teamaker needed a power point but this was hard to reach and other items had to be unplugged. Not enough table space.
Clean & tidy room. Comfortable beds. good breakfast Owner complained that there was eye make up stains on towles. I felt very uncomfortable after this.
Lots of room..big bathroom..warm.good service.good car park..best guest house we have ever stayed in. Nothing
Being able to work straight from the door of the hotel. The spa, when we were allowed to use it. No heater in our room. No where to sit except the bed in delux room, so we could not really visit our grandparents room. no lift. Our children (11 and 13) were not allowed in the pool when we wanted to go. No lift. No spin drier for costumes in the spa,so because our radiator was broken we had to put on cold wet costumes. a la cart restaurant was not open, and the bar food was chip orientated and the acoustics were terrible. No where comfortable to sit in the bar while waiting for our table. Insanely complicated billing.
Clean rooms and good food in restaraunt.
Relaxed, friendly staff. The overall facilities looked pretty good, although I didn't use any of them. Overall design seemed a bit odd with the car park at the back and side, but the reception area at the front with no indication in the car park that that was where it was. Also considering the size and style of hotel it should get some proper real ale in the bar.
Polite, happy & welcoming staff - outstanding value for money
Breakfast - which was very good Very dirty windows (frames mouldy!) and cold veg with bar meal
Pool & spa
since the new owners have been in place the food presentation and quality were excellent. up date the rooms next!
Although the hotel is 'tired' if you can get it for a cheap pirice you can get hotel services and facilities for Premier Inn costs. Food was good and at a reasonable price. As with many of the other reviews the hotel is in need of a revamp. Everything feels a little worn and outdated so don't book for a romantic weekend. It is fine for business if you arrive late and just need the convenience of a hotel.
excellent rooms , great spa , food in the restaurant was out of this world ( gordon ramsay paying a visit ? ) , many compliments to the chef , excellent value for money , will visit again A1++++ if there was one slight gripe , it was having to queue for breakfast ? couldnt quite work out why such a well run hotel would run short of tables ?
Breakfast Room booked 6 days before was not available, I was put in a twin room when I had boooked a double. Teir website claimed to have a refurbished hotel, my room was old and dirty and definitely not refurbished.
The selection of TV channels was excellent (all the SKY sports channel). The breakfast was also excellent.
Efficient reception, large clean room, excellent meal Touch of mould in shower, offer of free bottle of wine with meal rather hidden away
Room very small also noisy and hot
Both hotel , and room were exceptional and of the highest standard. Thankyou for a wonderful stay
Helpful staff Very noisy on Friday and Saturday nights, because of discos which continued to 12.30 and 12.00 respectively.
Location, cleanliness, size of room Breakfast service on Sunday was shocking. Repeated orders, uncleared table, slow service - 1 hour for breakfast!
Clean, welcoming, efficient and friendly staff. Good size room although bed a little uncomfortable but extremely large.
Friendly staff, and good food.
The friendliness of the hotel staff; they were very helpful at the front desk.
breakfast excellent shower leaked and was mouldy
Lovely suite with luxurious bathroom. Excellent coffee at breakfast. It ended to soon
Three small comments. 1, I thought the Lady in the breakfast area was speaking to a Dog when she directed us to are table. 2, The picture on the internet was nothing like the room which i stayed in! still very nice but not really £135 worth. 3, Under the left bedside table was somebodys dirty sock which i put in the bin
Wedding party was very noisy in the corridors till the early hours making it difficult for other guests to sleep.Maybe you do not value normal guests.A very expensive reataurant menu yet my Guest was left with very little choice of a vegitarian meal.I think there was only one very unimaginate main couse item and she had to choose from the starter menu.
The room I was given was large and comfortable and was better than I expected. Everything was fine
spacious, luxurious suite with a huge comfortable four poster bed fit for a queen everything was lovely
The restaurant was excellent
The comfort of the room and the hotel in general; excellent cuisine and good service.
Great location - from Airport and amenities. great atmosphere - an oasis away from the crowds. Not applicable
Comfortable and spacious room, traditional yet modern en-suite and Excellent breakfast
Noise from two wedding parties
The room was clean, comfortable and the TV had a range of channels. The hotel postcode was was not accurate for sat nav use as it sent me off the main road into an industrial estate rather than carrying on the road and over some more roundabouts. A lot of building work around the hotel so it looks like an unfinished, barren area. no bath.
took 90 minutes to check in because they could not find me on their system, then they would not check me in and process the visa given because they thought I was doing fraud, even though I had the printed receipt with me, I was booked through my job which I do each week, I arrived early evening when my boss was at an dinner party and they dragged her out from her party as I did not have the company visa with me and she had to drive to her office to open up an e-mail from them to fill forms in then take the company visa out the safe to fax that too them, she missed the starter and the main course, then they put me in a disabled room, it was the most horrific service everything!
Thew room was great. Needed more pillows and the bed sheets were ripped.
Great value, nice new hotel,in walking distance to a nice pub, good food at a great price,
A well kept hotel, very clean and in agood position for visiting that area.
The hotel staff were freindly and helpful. Environment was clean and well kept. My room was very cold and did not warm up. I had to eventually ask to be transferred to another room.
Modern, spacious rooms, with good facilities. Restaurant menu is very bland, and I feel this let down the Hotel. Not a menu I could choose from - so eating in the Hotel was not possible - at least for me.
Internet - ired access strange (Ethernet cable in my room would not connect to my pc). Wireless access in lobby very slow - until I mentioned it to staff then it speeded up. Odd!
Very clean well run hotel, staff very helpfull. Rooms excellent well fitted out. I considered the bar prices to be slightly on the high side.
Very airy - the restaurant area is well lit - The lounge/bar/restaurant area has been very tastefully used with the space available. Not a bad point just our personal opinion - The night we stayed it was freezing - There was no extra bedding and the wooden floors were too bare - In the summer it may be adequate but not in winter
The hotel was near the airport and looked good from the outside. Multiple issues including price cheaper on hotels own website.
Staff were extremeley good and very helpful
The Receptionists were very helpfull when I required help to find a tyre firm after having a puncture
New hotel, nice and clean and very friendly staff None
We were taking a very early flight from Robin Hood airport. Staying at the Ramada took all the stress out of "getting to the airport on time" We just stroled across to the check in desk, then got on the plane. No issues
Clean, warm & comfortable. The main entrance is at the rear. This is not apparent even when entering the car park. It is natural to try and reach the front of the hotel where one would expect to find the reception. But you can't drive there!!! After walking along a narrow path with luggage and a disabled wife we reached the revolving door at the front. This revolves too quickly and bites at your heels - my wife wouldn't even enter it and it had to be 'disabled' for her to get through. We then found the reception at the rear and the adjacent automatic sliding doors. A simple sign in the car park directing you to the entrance at the rear would have saved a lot of hassle.
Fantastic staff, very helpful, always smiling and happy. The hotel is great the rooms are furnished to a very good standard. Bed were very comfortable. Best hotel that I have stayed in for years, don't change a thing. The weather in Doncaster was very cold outside, so glad I was staying in an excellent hotel.
I chose this hotel because I was attending an evening function at the hotel so location was foremost priority. Main hotel is excellent for functions and of a high standard - I would have ticked 'luxury' to classify the hotel had it not been for the bedroom. Staff were friendly enough. We were located in an annex bedroom (ground floor off reception). Bedroom was freezing cold - admittedly it was the end of October but didn't expect to have to sleep in coats! Even the carpet was so cold it felt damp. Other issues: Damp towel left on bathroom floor - later realised this is because the shower intermittently dribbled and splashed on floor; room dusty (especially noticable on black lamps); dead spider and bits of paper on window sill so obviously not been cleaned; four holes in one of the bed sheets; mug in bedroom was cracked and chipped. I contacted the hotel manager by email when I got home to advise of these problems so that they can be rectified but a week later the email has not even been acknowledged.
Convenient location just 10 minutes walk from town centre No cold water - both sink taps ran hot. One tap was coming off the fitting. Bathroom door did not close. Room was very small and claustrophobic. Tatty furnishings. In need of a major refurbishment.
Excellent front of staff - attended a wedding/reception and though that it was very well planned We stopped in room 703 which was one of the refurbished rooms. The room was very comfy and well decorated but I have 2 points regarding the bathroom. No 1 - the stainless steel rubbish bin was rusty and needed to be thrown away. No 2 Whilst the shower is excellent, the water left on the tiled floor is extremely dangerous and had my elderly parents been in the room I would have been very worried about their safety. I think you need to provide floor towels as well as bath/hand towels to mop up the water that comes out of the shower area. Also, the breakfast was really nice but would benefit from the plates being warmed. I would welcome comments from the hotel regarding these points.
hotel room was fantastic and the food was amazing
Lovely interior to the hotel, nice restaurant/staff. In a very good location to the Racecourse and a pub across the road. The shower in our room was at boiling temp and could not be turned down which was very infuriating and dangerous. The staff on Reception had atitude problems and did not make us feel welcome. When I paid our bill and attempted to speak to the lady about the shower she turned away and went about other business with her collegue never glancing back.
Staff were very pleasant 1) Exterior of the Hotel is poor (Reception area is very modern and well presented) 2) Rooms are very dated and tired.
No expense spared with this hotel
Clean, good parking, nice size room, comfortable bed. Shower unit loose on wall, constant drip, unable to regulate temperature - too hot. Heating too hot, I tried radiator valve to no effect (later advised that reception could have sorted this out). Lift not working, no help with bags up stairs. Insufficient info in rooms ref heating, tv channels, immediate local area (Doncaster). Poor external signage - we were told this was because hotel is a listed building, we asked for more information out of interest but it wasn't forthcoming.
Very clean & very pleasing Recently refurbished executive room - overall very nice. Bathroom looked plush, however lacked finish - the wooden unit basin mounted was on stood directly on tiled floor with signs of water damage(swollen)also unit maked up due to where the soap has been left, shower head pipe work visible between headunit & wall. Could have done with:- a soap dish, shelf near basin. The only shelf where tooth brush, drink glasses etc could be left was behind the wc not the most hygienic of places.
Clean and comfortable. Value for money. A very dull bar atmosphere and the food offering is less than mediocre.
location is excelent for the town centre stayed here on many different occasions would return and recomend
Nice room, disabled access good, cafe food decent, staff polite and helpful Though close to town, it was very dangerous crossing the road approaching the roundabout (Not Ibis fault!), also the booking website did not give enough info on the difference in room prices, I passed the link on to my friends, one couple paid the higher price (as we did) another couple paid the lower price and got free breakfast!
Rooms very comfortable - bed good Had to ask for more towels/tea etc Was asked for my debit card details 3 times. Though this was a little bit over the top.
Very good value for money Difficult crossing road from hotel, but easy if driving & good location
Friendly staff, clean modern rooms, good parking, good food. Slightly noisy, felt a bit out town
friendly helpfull staff, modern clean appearance of hotel comfy beds,..very nice , will stay again slight road noise ( from dual carrageway), but not a real problem
SImple and predictable - the best reason for choosing an Ibis Hotel Noisy kids in room(s) opposite constantly opening/closing doors late at night. Not the hotel's problem and it was quickly dealt with by the night staff when I complained.
Well appointed near to the city ctr. Room is basic but functional. Breakfast was not good vfm. Very noisy near to main road
Friendly staff, nice room, comfotable bed & excellant pillows. Car park too small, Guests forced to take up disabled bays. I'm a disabled driver and had to park on street.
The price Restaurant closed at 9 pm
Friendliness and helpfullness of the staff
Easy access to a1 and m18 Spacious rooms Good supply of hot watre and well-appointed bathroom Parking too distant from reception - sign saying 'let your luggage off at main door, then park would have been helpful room very much too far from reception signs to get back to reception very few and far between - got lost newspaper did not arrive by sunday morning 9.15, but it was taken off our bill breakfast room could have been cleaner
The gym was one of the best I have ever been to The rooms were very warm, it would have been better if they had air conditioning
it reminded me of travel inns
excellent room bar and lounge area very comfy breakfast could have been better
Room was ready early and we were allowed in prior to attending a race meeting at Doncaster, which is a nice touch. It is impossible to get a taxi from the hotel to racemeetings on a race day. The hotels location means a long journey for a cab in slow traffic and the 6 taxi firms we contacted all stated this. Bear in mind if off to the races!
Large clean room. Friendly & helpful staff. Easy to find & quick access to the centre of town (5 minutes drive)
The good sized very clean room, comfortable bed. Able to get an early breakfast. No
New, clean and everything worked proerly Breakfast: a cooked breakfast for those travelling around all day and don't have time for lunch would be good - even if it could be arranged with the pub next door
The internet did not work
The staff were very helpful, the breakfast was very good, and the bed was excellent. We would have brought it home, but thought you would miss it.
Great place to stop over on your Journey. Have allways used travelodge but not any more!
Lovely Room, everything in room so clean & comfortable. We had to wait at least 5 minutes at reception to check in.
the location of the hotel close to the motorway M1 the hotel is close to a pub - resturant threre is also some fast food oulet within walking distance .
I thought the staff were excellent
Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient, food good, room excellent, hotel ideally placed None
Booking, checking in and use of facilities including car parking effortless Could do with Bbis sign at mcdonalds entrance because the site is so easy to get to when you know its near mcdonalds entrance
For price: facilities decor and equipment in the rooms I felt were better than travel lodge. Very close access to m1 jnct 30. Staff were very helpful
Clean and very pleasant environment.
Our dog was welcome (as were we!). We had control of the heating ang and ventilation in our room. Staff were friendly and helpful. In common with many hotels, there was no daylight in the bathroom - can't be helped, I suppose but I don't like artificail light first thing in the morning.
we arrived at the hotel after travelling a long way to be met with freindly and effiecent staff......room was clean and comfortable....service in the restaurant/lounge was help yourself but it would have been nice to see staff serving...but all in all our stay in the ibis was better than in most hotels of its type. room was cold even with heater on....
Just a 1 night stay, but I was pleasantly surprised by the size, cleanliness and comfort of the room and bed.I would stay here again and I would refer a friend. Good breakfast for extra charge. Only a shower in the room and I sometimes like to soak in a bath after a long day.
Parking, amenities, space, price ... no way to beat this one! No guinness on tap
Location excellent staff helpfful
Nice, friendly hotel centrally located within the heart of Doncaster town centre.
Room was very clean, the bed comfortable, very central for shopping or clubbing. Due to its location it was a little noisy due to late night revellers, the car park is very small and was full, had to pay to park elsewhere.
fantastic photo's of the rooms, looks great from the outside, the discoint looks like a good deal smells of stale water, food really really bad, made by a child, broken remote, noisey, dirty carpets, odd attitude from staff!!??
bar /restaurant modern and reasonably clean Bedroom very outdated as was bathroom. Our room directly above function room, extremely noisy
The only thing pleasant about this hotel was the sleep I had after travelling all day Worst service ever....half the staff dont seem to be capable of their given job
no internet access
Very hot, no air con and poor parking arrangements
Business meeting Not having a trouser press in the room
The location The room was smelly and dirty and the towels had make up on them
For a big hotel chain the chef did a great fixed price menu --the pan fried duck was one of the best and the fennel salad !!! brill ,good price wine list the first room offer was no good--it was an upper room with a leaky skylight and the telly was dead with no service men on call at weekend.Natalie at front desk did a great job of room change and the room was good. 10/10 to Natalie as there was a wedding at the same night
Reception dealt with our complaint about the room smelling badly of cigarette smoke quickly and efficiently and moved us to another room without any problem. The first room that we were put in stank of cigarette smoke. In fact the whole landing smelt of it. The windows had been left open obviously as they had tried to get rid of the smell.
The temperature inside the swimming pool area was too hot and unbearable to sit in for more than 10 minutes. The price of the breakfast £12.95 was far too expensive and we did not have it.
swimming pool. Lovely rooms.
convience to motorway
I liked the staff, they were very knowlegable about the area and gave good directions and were helpful. The room was comfortable and had plenty of tea/coffee!! The wardrobe was huge, even had an iron and ironing board. The restaurant was very good value for money. Plenty of room in the lounge bar. I didn't like the constant road noise at the front of the hotel, it didn't stop all night, also a group of residents stood around in the carpark at 2am discussing travel arrangements, the windows at the front could be double glazed to stop this or book a room at the back. The hot water ran out at 6pm too.
the party we went to nothing, disgusted
The bed was comfortable Overall the hotel needed to be refurbished it was looking tired and well used especially in the restaurant.
Noise from motorway traffic. I orderd a wake up call which I did not receive
Vwry handy for the m1
Location, price + friendly helpful staff. Noisy people walking in the corridor past our door intermittently all through the night.
It was a stay of one night. Thefact that there was no view from the window did not matter on this occasion. There was no soap in the showere container.
Pleasent guy on reception. Tired hotel - grubby. Noisy room despite having requested a quiet one. Don't like seeing hairs left in the bathroom /shower - should be cleaned better and shows they don't care. Holiday Inn Express much better.
Good value for money we just used it as a base for visiting relatives. I've stayed there a few times over the last 10 years and the rooms are looking a bit tired - could do with a lick of paint and new carpets.
The Staff were very attentive in all matters, My husband was ill during our stay and all the staf were very concerned and did their utmost to help.the food was excellent. This is our 5th year of visiting this hotel (twice yearly) for the Jehovahs Witness Conmvention at The East of the Pennines Assembly Hall at Hellaby. It is very convenient and we are always made very welcome. debbie etheridge
Good helpful staff; reasonable simple evening food and ample breakfast.Clean. Initally put in smoking room but the nonssmoking room request was not received by the hotel from the booking site.
Rooms were not too hot and we enjoyed the breakfast Fire alarm going off at 2.30am because someone was smoking in their room. Water pressure very poor in the shower and even worse in the sink where it was barely a dribble.
Friendly attitude of the staff, cleanliness and excellent value of money no
Staff friendly, helpful and efficient. Although room was adequate for our needs ie. Comfy bed, spare bed for our son, tv, internet access, etc. we had to request bedding for the spare bed and extra pillows, towels, etc. - but staff was apologetic and supplied promptly. So not really that bad.
Staff were very helpful and friendly, facilities were excellent. No complaints. Good value for money with continental breakfast included. No bad points very pleasant stay.
Bedrooms were spacious - bathroom large, very clean with plenty of towels. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast service was rather haphazard although food was well cooked and tasty. Staff were not attentive enough to refilling coffee/tea cups.
Good service and friedly staff Nothing to report
Only one set of towels between two people. No seal between shower and bath so water poured onto floor! Toilet seat would not stay in upright position.
Ease of booking through yourselves None apparent
Hospitable and friendly
Was a great night all the staff were great help with everything we needed thank you
Nice people and very helpful, room was first class Problems with catering very slow and not much choice
Location Value for money Poor ventation in room
Large well appointed room. Small but efficient restaurant and bar
Friendly staff. Easy access. Comfortable beds. Very cramped. One towel for two in double room! Could not turn washbasin tap off. Shower: a trickle. Ordered newspaper first forgotten, then delivered much later. Breakfast: service a joke (excuse: training new staff!)
