Cons: "I booked through Budget Air and was initially online able to confirm seats and meals for my husband and I online with Qantas easily. Months out my flight was cancelled and I was rebooked onto a later flight that would have made us miss all of our transfers to our honeymoon on Fitzroy Island. Because I had booked through 'a 3rd party' Qantas refused to assist me. I managed to convince budget air to change our flights. We were moved to a jetstar flight from Melbourne to cairns. I had to confirm that this had occurred and go through multiple people online to reallocate seats and food options for my husband and myself again. Only my luggage allowance was carried across to jetstar and neither of our meal allowances were. When it came to online check-in with jetstar I could not check my husband in online only myself. I spoke to multiple people online who all confirmed they didn't know why or there was no problem and we should just present ID and check in in person. When we got to the airport Qantas had not transferred the e-ticket code across for my husband's booking and this is why we could not check him in online. The jetstar staff had to try to get his original booking code from Qantas. As it turned out I had to original booking code through budget Air in my hand and had to assert this information to staff. Flying back we were able to check in online fine with Qantas. Our boarding passes printed different sizes but did not present a problem when we dropped off our luggage. When we sent to check in the staff member couldn't get the smaller pass to read and my husband had to assert that he also had it on his phone. Despite all of my online conversations the aisle seat was allocated to me and not my husband who required it because of a medical condition and the flight was 30min delayed. We won't be traveling with Qantas or jetstar, or booking through budget Air again."

Flight attendant sounded unprofessional over PA Would like more snacks - savoury and sweet, instead of just savoury. Snack was not sufficient for a 3 hour flight landing at 9pm. Had to wait on plane while airbridge was brought to the plane so everyone could disembark - “they weren’t expecting the flight!!” Whole flight still waiting for luggage after 55 minutes of standing at carousel and only after 55 minutes an announcement to say handlers are tending to a departure and we have to wait another 10 minutes - a whole hour for luggage - take carry on only next time!!!! 4 flights collecting luggage from the one carousel!!"

First time I've ever seen this on a plane. Ok, so Qantas got us there safely but the inflight movies its what makes it bearable."

Yeah right - 23 staff eat them themselves. same movies and TV - I do a flight every month and its always the same with maybe one or two new movies added unloading oversize in LAX - give yourself at least 1.5 hours - they are slow and inefficient. Unloading in Melbourne was ok but bags took for ever. Wish they would go to Beijing or Shanghai and see how it is done in less than 15 minutes from docking. United/Delta is looking good at this stage"

Virgin could not organize another flight for us so we had to hire a car to drive to Mildura. We then had to cancel our flights Mildura to Melbourne Melbourne to Brisbane because we had to return the hire car to Melbourne. I had to book new flight from Melbourne to Brisbane and was told on Thursday when I cancelled our flights for Sunday that we could not get a refund. Unhappy about the entire experience. We were going to a funeral on Friday and to see my Mother on Saturday who is dying of cancer. We had to cut our stay with my mother short so we could drive 6 hours back to Melbourne to catch our plane on Sunday."

After 45mins and no mum, I asked staff where she was. They said they were waiting for me at the gate as they didn't have enough staff to bring her, and I couldn't take her walker through security, so I had to go there and pick her up (passing 4 staff members with golf carts just sitting and waiting). luckily she wasn't distressed, but when I got to her, the man at the desk was then told over the radio tthat he could bring her down... poorly organised. Not the end of the world, because she was okay, but it could have been really upsetting for her otherwise."

One of the passengers were not able to travel and ticket was complete lost , where as the inbound flight on Qantas gave us credit for the future. In the end , the total cost ends up close to other airlines with all the discomfort on the flight free."

Holiday cut short, had to return rental car 1/2 day earlier than what had been paid for, lunch reservations had to be cancelled and no responsibility accepted by Jetstar representative. Well they have definitely lost me as a customer, none of the companies I own would treat a customer in such a manner we believe that we NEED customers to stay in business. Then to top it all off had a hour and a half travel time from Bne as opposed to half an hour from Coolangatta."

We did everything right to make sure we could travel, just to be refused at the gate. Disgusting."

The chat was clunky and not compatable with mobile phone. Then they couldn't refund the extra fees I had paid for assigned seats - that is a "different chat site" though I was reassigned a Quantas ticket and given tickets that had us split up on that flight. They couldn't give me a booking number or anything like that for the Quantas flight either. I will just save the hassle and fly with Quantas next time. Cons: "Long line to check in, old dirty plane. Charge for everything. Cheap fares not worth service. They overcharged $125 AUD baggage fee for a 20kg bag which is within limits. Since I booked the flight with Kayak, I had trouble paying in advance for bags online and selecting seats via kayak and on Jetstar website after booking in USA. It is not clear on any site that there is a 15kg bag limit and and excess charge beyond that. I even tried adding a bag and seats 24kg prior while in Australia but it wouldn't let me or give me that option. I was told at the Jetstar service desk that I need to contact Kayak/ Jetstar directly via email to file a complaint for this ridiculous bag charge. Its unfortunate that as USA person we are not aware of this poor service airline. My bag was not over limit and there is no justification for this high bag charge. USA airlines only charge high if you are overlimit but Jetstar is ripping people off. if there is anything you can do for me, its greatly appreciated."

When we got to airport and went to check luggage they charged us $900 USD for four normal sized bags, one bag each. Called customer service, waited 25 minutes and then rude agent refused to listen to my concern about this or connect me to anyone that could actually help us. Agents at desk first told me there was no supervisor there I could talk to and then I asked one lady there and she said she was supervisor. I asked if she had another number she could call since I was on hold so long and she flat out lied and said even they have to call that same number I had to get help. She then just walked away and completely ignored me. Not a single person for Jetstar seemed to think $225 per bag was unreasonable or showed any hint of compassion or desire to try and help us. They didn't seem to think it was odd that my bag that weighs 1/4 of what I do cost more to fly then I did. Never fly with them, go with any other carrier. Don't give these greedy and predatory punks a single cent."
Cons: "5th time out of 7 times I've used Jetstar that the flight has been cancelled. At least this time I was fast enough to rebook for the next day. And then what happens? They delay that flight by 12hrs. These jokers should not be allowed to take money for a service they can rarely provide."

Cons: "On our flight back the staff a the airport was questioning our small foldable NEW MSR stove WITHOUT any gas canister and marked our bag as with a dangerous item. We personally confirmed with the security officer that the stove was unused and WITHOUT any fuel. Despite that fact, he bag was left behind and not with us on the flight. We are not sure when it will be delivered and it is disrupting our trip itinerary. We travel all over the world and had never such a problem with a stove. The security action was, to our opinion, extensive."

When we checked in for a domestic flight, we were told that we would have to pay $400 to send our luggage with us. THAT WAS MORE THAN WE PAID FOR OUR SEATS! We were also told that had we paid for our luggage ahead of time, it would have only been $60. Be very careful if you fly this airline. Make sure you know what is and what is not included with your ticket, especially if you use a third party to purchase your tickets. PS - All drinks (including coffee, tea, soda, etc.)are extra. Frankly, I'm surprised they don't charge for using the toilet in flight"

At airport I was charged $682 for luggage cause " I didn't say I was flying with luggage "supposedly opting out of the $ 35.00 fee for luggage. Only other option was to re-book for next day loosing out of bookings in Cairns which was not an option. Many other passengers on our flight faced same predatory practices by Jetstar. Gate agent said website changed to be more transparent. This is not true Luggage fees more than doubled cost of flight. This is only direct flight from Adelaide and you're trapped .""
Cons: "Well we got there after finding it confusing to get to the airport, got there in time to board, went to put in my information got to the part where I entered to 20 KG baggage and entered it wrong, put down both having luggage, tried to go back on the screen, it didn't work, asked for helped the lady was busy and asked me to hold, as we did, when she came back after 5 minutes, she returned to main screen, which she didn't need to but by the time she went through the whole process again flight had closed arghhhhh $100 extra for next flight, disappointed as you would be.... first holiday,Many tears and disappointed because we were there in time but hey bad luck I was told but being an error, disappointed, by no one cares Judy"

Traveling through the outback, I had no scale, no wifi, etc. And after paying an exorbitant amount, we were STILL given hassles for our carry-on.. Apparently if you "wear" your luggage on your body, it's free of charge (but on aggregate, it still adds to weight & balance of the plane). And how this all contributes to fast handling is beyond me. Moronic rules! Of all the great times I had in Australia, JetStar was the only utter disappointment I had to endure! Never again!"

People were carrying rolling luggage.... While the payment didn't bother me, what bothered me was the fact of having to put my luggage understand. Seats in plane were ridiculously uncomfortable. Unlike anything else."
