Fine Emirates service, everything you'd expect. Good food and drink, good service, good entertainment. Not the worst seats, for economy class. Only real problem was the lack of mask enforcement. Probably about 5% of passengers didn't bother, and the crew didn't do anything to ask them.

About a quarter of the flight had boarded before we decided to get in the line ourselves, and they took us in without any questions. Cons: "This is my fourth time booking Emirates for my route through kayak. The route is longer but I choose it for on-board Internet for work emails. Generally, they have on-board WiFi Internet, however for my return route of 21 hours both flights had no wifi which was disappointing. This is unprofessional because if you are planning on having WiFi to respond to work emails and it is not available once you are already in the air there is nothing you could do but get stuck. Never does this happen with Lufthansa, Turkish, Etihad. Disappointing."

The attendant noticed my shocked stare and then gave me a veggie meal too. 2. On a 16 hour flight, our tv screens didn't work. None of the attendants even came by to check, even after repeatedl requests. 3. My 6 and 9 year old kids would like to know why they didn't get any of the courtesy toys/coloring books that were given to other similar age kids. I don't want to tell them it was due to their skin color. 4. Even a request for water turned into a tug of war after we had waited for almost 20 minutes. I finally poured it out myself."

Food tray is smaller and more compact than before, turns Dinner into a game of Tetris (although, not a fun 'game'). Flights aboard A380 are much more comfortable than in Boeing 777."

The food was good for food during a flight and there was nothing lacking in the entertainment department either. There is really not much Emerates could do to make the flight more pleasant."
Cons: "The check in experience is the worst I have ever had. One bag was a little heavy so I had to pay the fee which I was happy to do. But, they took me out of line and up to the office, I then had to wait 30 minutes to be helped only to then learn that the credit card machine was not working. So, I had to get cash from an ATM, which charged a fee, and there was no change available so I ended up paying more than the fee actually was. Then, I had to go back through security and stand in line again just to get my boarding pass. I was at the airport 3 hours early and this disorganized system almost caused me to miss my flight. It was just unprofessional all around."
Pros: "See above. Great airline all around. We travel a lot and overall it is one of the two best in the world on almost all counts."
Cons: "For large number of passengers, boarding is impossibly slow. I don't understand why, after boarding the priority passengers, airline don't board the rest of us from the back of the plane to the front. Doing it the other way makes us stumble across the front seated passengers who are busy stowing their carry-ones. This causes a bottleneck in boarding. Also, there are too many checks on us, which also slows things down. Also, Emirates advertises: one carry-on item of less than 15 pounds. On this flight I would say that at least 75% of the passengers violated this with large and multiple carry-ons. This is unfair to those of us who try to go by the rules."

Cons: "The first leg of Hyderabad to Dubai was about 3.5 hours. The airhostesses must have been tired from another long haul prior to the HYD-DBX leg. A couple of them were a little less than charming to some of the passengers. Many of the people from Indian subcontinent don't use the magic words - thank you and please. So, it could come out likes bit rude but a curt answer in stead of yelling would have sufficed. My flight was from EWR to HYD with stopovers at BOS and DBX. A long wait at Dubai can be understood and expected. But a 7 hour layover at Boston was a killer. If Emirates tied up with any other carrier other than jet blue, this could have been avoided. Even otherwise, after a 20+ hour journey, another 7+ hour waiting was a killer. Please change it to make the journey shorter"

The seats were curved in the wrong way and didn't recline enough for a 3 hour flight. The crew made the boarding and deplaning process worse by not paying attention to what was going on in the plane."

Cons: "United Express flies out of Terminal A at Newark (EWR) and routinely they do not have Precheck lanes open. Despite flying on the Saturday after Thanksgiving they only had one mixed security line open. When I asked TSA they said they simply weren't staffed to have a Precheck line open. Everyone was working diligently but this happens every time we fly United out of Newark. Traveling with 2 small children it is incredibly frustrating to have to go through the full security line, take off our shoes, and take all of our electronics out of our bags."

They were happy to supply extra snacks and coffee or water between regular service. Seat reservations were properly done (unlike a flight in June on Etihad)."
Cons: "In boarding, putting groups 3, 4, and 5 in the same line works poorly. Location of electric outlets needs better (i.e. some) documentation; had to ask crew. The heat fluctuated between too warm and too cold; had to put on and take off a fleece every 10-15 minutes. Chicken option for dinner rated spicy, so had to opt for pasta. No Asian options on flight from Japan; sad. So-so movie selection, controlling screen not very easy, screen often too dark. The list of movies in the United Magazine was incomplete and inaccurate. The size limits on carry-on bags and personal items was smaller than other airlines, unnecessarily so for the latter given the size of the space under the seat in front. United is inconveniencing customers without any justification."

Cons: "The gate agent for United at Newark was very rude and dismissive. Would not answer any of my questions or anyone who attempted after me. His attitude was very poor and seemed to not care about his job. Plane was late arriving in Portland Maine."
Pros: "Economy Plus was good. Economy not so. Good variety of movies. However, it is cheaper to go to the movies during the day. Pretty impressed with the timing, especially considering it was the holidays and we flew through Chicago. The captains' were also entertaining."

Pros: "Nonstop flight! Nice and cool on the plane. The movies/entertainment were pretty good. Flight attendants were pleasant. This flight had its own security line at the airport! No waiting at all to go through security."
Cons: "It was delayed about 2 hours. The boarding process was a bit chaotic- partly because of the layout of the airport. The waiting area was small so it got congested quickly when 3 flights were boarding at the same time. Even though United checked us in by group number, we had to board a bus to get to the plane. So, the group number system wasn't really enforced when we actually got on the plane -- more like first come, first served at that point. First class and business class did get to go ahead on a different bus. We also had to climb stairs from the tarmac - could be an issue for the disabled."

Cons: "We were stranded in Newark with little to no air conditioning in 90 degree heat. Our flight was delayed 9 HOURS. I lost an entire day of my family's vacation because of United Airlines and their massive blunder. They said it was because there was no air conditioning, but at the same time they said their crew clocked out and we had to wait for new personnel to man the plane. I find it hard to believe that this couldn't be foreseen and avoided. By the time we finally got our crew, we then had to await for a storm to pass, and then 40 other planes had to take off first. All United offered in apology were $10 vouchers that expire in two days, and a free drink on the plane."

Cons: "Please read above--I was standing at the gate waiting to board when the gate rep told me and another passenger there was only one seat left--on a flight I was confirmed on! The other passenger said he had a family obligation and the rep handed him the last ticket before I could get a word out. I felt so disrespected and like my business and money meant nothing to United. Then began my saga to get to Portland. Unbelievable."
Cons: "Upon arrival the flight attendant left me stranded on the tarmack without a wheelchair for 20 minutes. I have serious balance issues and was terrified. My connection was very tight and I barely made my plane to Portland. The pilot finally saw the problem and got the assistance I needed. This was the most frightening wheelchair experience I have even had."
Pros: "I wish I would have caught her name but the staff member at the boarding gate was fabulous! She is someone I would want representing my company."

Give her that rare luxury of having no one sitting beside her... twice in a row. And toss in not one, but two of those United Airlines cookies." (Those cookies are sooooo good.) Really, at the moment, I can think of nothing anyone could've done any better."

Cons: "I arrived at my final destination and walked to baggage claim. I was just standing there waiting when a young girl walked by me in a uniform and said rudely and almost annoyed, "do you have a question". I replied that I was waiting on my bag. She then said these are it and I said so my bag has been lost? Without any empathy AT ALL she again, rudely and now most definitely annoyed said Do you have your bag tag? I said yes and she proceeded to walk away to a corner office. I assumed I was to follow. She took my tag, no communication at all from her, I said what are you doing and she replied I have to file a claim. She then proceeded to tell me that Newark Airport was horrible and never travel through there if I know what's good for me. This was extremely unprofessional. I was simply wanting some guidance from her on what to expect etc. I had to ask her what my next steps were. She handed me a flyer and said if I had any questions to call baggage information listed on the pamphlet. I left. The next day at about 1 p.m. I called the number and the update said my bag had left the airport and was out for delivery. Keep in mind that I had to work the next day after the airline losing my bag and had to purchase shower items etc due to them being in my lost bag. Portland jetport and my home address is less than 40 minutes apart, yet my bag did not arrive at my home until 8:30 p.m. and I'm also not confident it would have ever arrived because I called around 7 p.m. and spoke with someone who called the delivery service to ask their ETA. I paid $25 to check my bag and yet it was lost. What did I pay for?! If I can help it, I will NEVER fly United again and I'll be certain to tell everyone I know about my experience with this airline."
