The boarding was like a cattle drive bordering on a stampede since Aegean Airlines didn’t bother to divide passengers by groups, so people rushed to be first in line. We waited standing with our carryons for over 45minutes. Nobody knew what was happening or when they will start boarding. Naturally, when we finally got on board people where blocking the aisle because Aegean didn’t bother to board from back to front as it is usually done. The flight attendants were sweet but their English was almost unintelligible. My brother works and I worked for major airlines and have never seen anything so disorganized and unprofessional."

Cons: "One thing that sticks out the most for me is how rude the airport crew are. A lot of people (including me, at first) were confused about the gate. One knows the gate isn’t always what it says on the boarding pass. Especially if printed from a different airport. Anyway, not knowing that the gate won’t show on the screens until about an hour before departure time, we were asking a lot of the ground staff about which gate etc. They were very rude and dismissive."
Cons: "They locked the bathrooms whenever the staff were passing around drinks, food, or collecting garbage. They claimed it was due to "safety" but every staff was easily walking around passing around drinks. There was no turbulence. Even when multiple people tried to get up to go to the restroom, they sent them away. Finally, when they unlocked the bathrooms after a good 30 mins, there were HUGE lines. They did this multiple times. It doesn't make sense to lock the bathrooms that long. People need to use the restroom and then they create larger lines which is more dangerous because even more people are standing up at the same time. Doesn't make sense. Will probably not use this airline again if this occurs again."

They went out of their way to make sure she got wheelchair assistance, and lift assistance up to the airplane, and this time,help from the airplane to the train station once we reached Rome."

Also... there was a meal on the flight but not option was given to those who are vegetarians to request a special meal at time of booking or later on while managing the booking... this was a bit unfair in my mind that my only option was a pasta and meat sauce meal so I did not get to eat... also... within my Star Alliance menber account I am listed as a vegetarian meal... so it should have been automatic just as it is on Swiss, Lufthansa, Etc... when I fly with them."

Pros: "We had a technical problem after take off and our flight needed to return to Athens airport. The Captain assured all the pax this was not a safety related issue, and a fresh plane would be ready for us when we landed in Athens. After landing in Athens at a remote gate, we were bussed to the terminal, waited for no more than 10 minutes to another aircraft to make our journey to Paris. As we got on the bus to go to the new aircraft we were handed a letter with apologies for the disruption. In this letter we were offered a free flight anywhere within the Aegean Airlines network, valid for 12 months. I thought this was great customer recovery. The same technical and cabin crew took our new plane to Paris and we managed to make up a reasonable amount of time delay. This was an unforeseen situation handled very well. Well done Aegean."

Pros: "first they announced 10 min delay, then they could not find the crew, after they appeared delay was extended to 45 min we left about 50 min late. gained some time in flight and arrived 35 min late. first batch of luggage came out relatively early and then there was a break of over 20 min before the luggage started to come out again, just as if somebody decided to have a coffee break."

Cons: "From the moment I arrived at the airport, the machines would not accept my passport, then when they finally did, they would not print my boarding pass. The staff at Athens airport were not at all friendly nor welcoming. Their system had booked me into a middle seat near the front of the aircraft even though there were empty rows a little further back. Why not fill aisle and window seats first? So I had to change my seat during check-in. The original aircraft was apparently due for some sort of inspection which was unscheduled and they had to change our aircraft (either a really poor job by aircraft operations, or code that something bigger was wrong). This delayed the flight. But it wasn't until after we had all boarded the busses going to the out gate that they realized this was going to be an issue. Get off the bus, back inside the gate area, and wait for more information. The plane we were on seemed very old and in need of much attention as there were large spots of missing paying along the wing (just outside my window)."

You have to go to different desks to verify passport (!) and pass additional security control where they don't let you carry in any tax free purchases you make at your originating airport although you never leave the transit area. Boarding is chaotic with no staging."

Once we arrived in Belgrade, we stayed in the business suite before our flight and was provided with food and couches to relax on before our next flight. Also, on our connecting flight to athens, Aegean airlines was very professional and really wish I would have used their service instead of air serbia."

Once we arrived in Belgrade, we had to wait 9+ hours for our connecting flight to athens when we were only supposed to have 2 hrs layover. Once we boarded the plane to athens, the workers at the airport had no clue were our luggage was and a lot of things were miscommunicated between them. They were very unprofessional and some of them were very rude. They had plenty of time to move our luggage to the next airplane, but too careless to do that. So now we have to wait a couple of days to get the rest of our luggages. We also missed our train ride in greece because of air serbia and had to pay for another train ticket and did not receive a refund"

After all that, the airline changed my seat without warning, moving me from the window seat I selected (and paid for) to a middle seat. Where did they get the idea I would think that was OK? Then the flight was delayed, almost missed my connection. Boarding and exiting the aircraft were zoos. Eminently unrepeatable."

Pros: "Air Serbia is way better than old JAT Airways (or at least better than JAT Airways after 1992). They are improving and it seems that they will be a solid regional company, as well as a good Etihad partner."

Cons: "This is a rating for our entire experience which was awful. In our area you were unable to check in online or use a kiosk. That meant every person on the flight had to check in at the airport. There were no lines, no directions, just a mob at the desk. Once onboard the intercom went out during taxi. We had to turn around. No information was given as we sat on the taxiway. We finally took off late and again no information was given about connections. When we asked we were told "don't worry the Belgrade airport is small". luckily the flight from Belgrade to Athens was also late so we made the connection. Departing Athens was difficult as well. Online Air Serbia was showing our flight was cancelled due to a possible air traffic controller stike which did not happen. We called Air Serbia and were informed the flight was not cancelled. "Just show up at the airport" we were told. We showed up more than 2 hours early and waited in line to be told we were not in their system along with 2 other couples by a very curt airport employee. We waited an hour, despite all of us having proof of paid tickets. Again, no information was given. They finally confirmed the first leg, Athens to Belgrade but not the 2nd, Belgrade to Stuttgart. We waited again and finally were given boarding passes. We were not apologized to, offered an up grade or really afforded any customer service. One of the other couples discovered on their own, that due to the possible strike, Air Sebia had indeed cancelled everyone's bookings and "forgot" to re-enter some. Leaving Athens we were also late on take off. Again not given any information and barely made our connection to Stuttgart. At this time given our experience we could not recommend Air Serbia."

The very first Alitalia person I tried to speak to was the very worst. Though her job was to check people in, she said she couldn't help me and to go to another counter. When I asked if she could please at least make a call to get a wheelchair (my grandfather was at the airport entry and couldn't walk) she made a terrible face, threw the papers on her desk around and said I had to go to another counter. When I went to the counter she pointed at, I was told again I would have to go to another counter. No offense to dog owners, but the animals that were traveling received better assistance."

Afger running to the cashier, we were told that she had no time and that we should go back to the agent to pay! We ran back and paid, then went to look for our gate. It was finally listed as Gate 12. We got though security ok and got into the line for Gate 12. It was more like a scrum tan a line. Nobod seemed to be doing anything when all at once we saw people boarding. We went to the gate but were told that our flight was boarding at Gate 10!!! WTF??? Gate 12 listed our flight number and Gate 10 listed another flight, but we did as were told and boarded via Gate 10. None of other passengers knew what the hell was going on but we all made it to Rome along with our baggage. We will NEVER fly Alitalia again."

This is downright theft by all the airlines who engage in this very profitable but nefarious activity and really needs to be stopped. First bag should be free/ nominal charge or at least part of the ticket price. (It is like a restaurant charging for cutlery and plates so you can eat . Would that be acceptable??)"
Cons: "Horrible experience with Alitalia. They boarded us on a plane that had a wheel issue, and kept us on the ground for 2 hours before they decided to de-plane us. We then had to wait in a 5+ HOUR LINE to get rerouted (nope, they won't handle these issues online or over the phone, you have to wait in line). And THEN they wanted us to wait in a 2 hour line to re-drop off our bags. We got stuck overnight in Rome and were put in a horrible Hilton Garden Inn and barely made it in time to use our coupon for a "free meal" (aka, frozen meatballs and stale bread in a buffet that had been sitting out all night). On our flight back, the food was absolutely terrible, the movie selections were old and scarce, and the seats were uncomfortable. We called to complain as soon as we got home and still have not heard back from Alitalia. I will never fly with them again."

We were told to go to a terminal to get our ticket printed out. I checked in early online so that was weird. We went to the terminal and couldn't figure out how to print it out. After about 20 minutes we got upset and left the terminal to get help. A guy told us he could print off our tickets 37€ to get a flight ticket printed off. He worked for Ryanair. He said if I pull it up off my phone I could get it with an email. Unfortunately I'm a tourist and don't have signal in that country and the wifi was conveniently not operational. I was to to try a local cafe to use wifi. I went to the cafe used their WiFi and then pulled my ticket online. I brought it to the guy who needed my ticket. I asked to check my luggage on. She said I couldn't because my luggage was broken because on my flight to Athens it came back to me broken. Frustrated I walked off to security in Athens. I went to go to my gate and looked at the ticket. The ticket didn't even have my gate on there. I searched on the board for my flight to come on in English but everything was moving too fast so it took 10 minutes to do. I finally found the gate I needed to go to and left. By this time 1hr and 30 minutes we're expended before I got to even security. I got to security and through my backpack containing my camera equipment onto the scanner taking my laptop out. They kicked the back back saying I had to take all my gear out of the back so they can scan it. ( I mean what's the point of a scanner anyways) they they told me to open up my lenses to see inside.... Like what?! I did that so he could look into my lenses. Then he asked me to open up my laptop so he could see inside the laptop.... Again... Seriously?? You have a scanner. Then they told to take all my hygiene products including my expensive calone I put in my bag that was intended for check luggage and throw it away. Because my luggage was broken and wasn't able to go on the plane I lost about $100 of hygiene products. Let me tell you I also work in Africa.... I can't get hygiene products anymore. We began boarding the plane. The ticket on my phone wasn't able to be scanned and see had to put the number in manually. Then we got to the plane and told us to leave my luggage at the bottom of the stairs to be put into the plane with the checked luggage. My broken luggage that wasn't accepted for check luggage was now checked luggage just without all the important items I needed -_- worst airline and airport ever. Never fly with them."

Some of the passengers were boarded then the rest of the passengers were left standing in line at the gate for a prolonged period of time. Boarding staff did not address the passengers while we waited. We did not know how serious the issue was while we waited, if we were going to be allowed to board, or if the flight was going be cancelled. Just before boarding the issue was attributed to a passenger from the previous flight who was in a wheelchair and required assistance. Would have been nice to know while we waited."

I flew with 8 family members and had to pay over $100 because I did not have a paper copy of my ticket. They do not accept online confirmations for non- EU customers and no kiosk to print one...how old school. You are unable to pay for extra baggage or overage fees at the desk where you check-in. You have to leave the line and pay elsewhere and then wait back online. The charge for overage was outrages even if it was over by 1 kg..it was over $12 per kg. By the time you pay for 3 kg over you virtually pay for another baggage fee. As soon as the plane is in the air...the carts are going around for you to by products from their catalog. Collecting as much money from the customer is the first priority....customer service is second. By the time all was said in done I ended up paying more for my flight then I could have with most other airlines. The one thing I learned was to never fly this airline again."

I saw the gate check in employee being short to guests as well. the company culture feels negative in my one experience. To compare with another regional carrier who seemed to have it together, Olympus, the Ryanair staff didn't appear to like their jobs. Also, Ryanair charges for seat assignments even when you don't have a preference. And the checked luggage size restriction is the smallest I've ever seen. I pack light but the bag I would have needed to have a free checked bag is tiny. Again, my money will go to Olypus Air the next time I'm in this region."

Besides being able to change our flight to go from Barcelona back to the states (with Norwegian) due to changes in plan, we would have considered booking through another airline. Yes, it really was that bad! Food was fine but you have to pay extra for all of it."

Online check-in automatically selects for one person to be in the front and one person in the back unless you pay more to sit together. Unless you pay the fee you cannot sit with someone you're traveling with. Bathroom broken on flight and only one stall available. Long wait! No pouches in the seat in front of you-- kind of annoying... Staff seemed burnt out and ready to get off the plane. I totally could empathize. Maybe it was because we were heading to Barcelona, but major party crowd who was pretty rowdy on the flight. People standing in the aisles blocking the flight attendants, people sitting on each other's laps some and being loud-- kind of like being on a party bus. Will for sure be telling friends to avoid this airline no matter the price-- not worth saving a few bucks for the discomfort and hidden fees. DON'T FLY this airline if you have kids. Your 5 year old will probably get a middle seat at the back of the plane while you're in the front unless you want to pay extra for everyone to sit together. DON'T FLY this airline if you have American sized carry on luggage. They don't care about your American sized luggage. Whatever the baggage guidelines are, subtract some because that's what they REALLY mean. Get the tiny hard case Euro suitcase if you want to carry on a bag. Otherwise the fee is very high! DON'T FLY this airline if you are over 6 feet tall or have long legs. Ok, they let you stand most of the flight anyway. You'll feel better on another airline. If you can spend an extra 15, do it and AVOID this one."
Cons: "I didn't like that the originally fairly cheap price became higher and higher to provide minimal comfort and service. 30-35 euros per bag, paid ahead of time, is a ridiculously high price to charge in addition to the flight cost. Middle seats unless you are willing to pay more. Not even a drink on the plan unless you are willing to pay. etc etc. It is EXTREMELY inconvenient not to provide a paper ticket. I was unable to print a boarding pass as I was away from home. At the check-in I was not given a paper boarding pass, and then when I got to the entrance area, my phone would not work to show the boarding passes electronically. Ryan Air's website was impossible to navigate to find my boarding passes, taking me literally about a half hour to figure out. This delayed our entry tremendously. On the flight out from Barcelona to Rome my son was allowed to carry on his skateboard plus one small other carryon. On the flight back, he was NOT allowed to take the board through security, and was told he was too late to check the board. This turned out not to be true, but we were not informed of this at check-in, again seriously delaying our boarding. Luckily we had arrived at the airport way too early, and this worked to our advantage given Ryan Air's incompetence. The next day we flew home on Swiss Air - what a pleasant difference to fly on a real airline! No issues, lots of help, etc. etc."
Cons: "Comfort: No reclining seats. No seat pocket. the back of the headrest is an eye-sore and it is in-your-face for the entire flight. They have their advertisements there and there' no way to avoid seeing their ads. Boarding: I had priority boarding, but I could see chaos taking place . More importantly, there was a lady with serious mobility issues (she was old, limping and walking slowly) and nobody from the crew even spoke to her or offered to help as she was getting on or off the plane. I had to tell someone from the crew to get a wheelchair for her after she exited the plane. Upselling: disappointed. They even sell you scratch gamble games, they charge for water during the flight. Ticketing: they charge to print your boarding pass at the airport. I usually get a printed boarding pass at the airport, but stuck to just using my phone. Can not believe this experience. What kind of a airline is this?"

Pros: "Tiny airport in Mykonos took about 10 mins to check in and get through security. But must be a MAD house during summer break! There was no food or entertainment but only a 22 minute flight so who cares"
Cons: "Awful experience. Could not print boarding passes online and tried to pull them up at the airport, but there was no internet connection. Staff was incredibly rude and tried to make us pay $50 to print on site. Finally downloaded the passes (which, by the way, we had to obtain at least 24 hrs in advance - an easy email to miss). "Priority boarding" (also paid extra for) was a joke. Everyone had to get on a bus to arrive at the plane, and no order was kept, so it was basically a free-for-all to board the plane (lots of flying elbows). As a result, the overhead space by our seats (second row) was filled and we had to put our bags much further back (again defeating the purpose of "priority boarding"). Upon arrival to our destination, there was zero indication that our checked bag would be at completely different terminal. It took going through lost and found and 2 information folks to find the correct baggage claim area (and another go through security). All in all, a terrible experience. Not worth the extra $$ we may have saved. AVOID!!!"
Cons: "Be prepare for surprised$€£¥! Ryanair wil always find a way to get from you ~4x the cost of you ticket. They will have a charge for everything (check in at the airport=€45, select seats,etc) and you will be told from this at the check-in time. I though I was prepared to avoid all these surprises, but at the boarding time they told to most of the passengers they need to check at least one carry in item because there will be no space. They charge us €65 to check one carry on luggage, even though it complied with carry on dimensions and weight. If this surprise charge of €65 is compare to the €18 cost of the ticket (from ATH to JTR) you will note you will actually pay 4x of the ticket cost."

The door man was determined to overcharge me no matter what.Since the flight was max, half the suitcases where shipped direct so his overcharge didn't matter.I am Italian/American and I was singled out and U will never fly Ryanair again.You get me one time and I get you 10 times. That one suitcase was more than half the cost of the flight. I do not like being ripped off. You should be ashamed of your strong armed tactics. Not Happy Sam Morreale."
Cons: "We had a 5 hour delay and were given absolutely no information. No one came to tell us what was going on, and we had to run all over the airport to find someone who worked for Ryanair to try to find help. Even when we finally located the "customer service" desk, they had no idea what was going on and were unable to help us. All they could offer was a "lunch voucher" but they sent us to the wrong café, which didn't know what we were talking about. Beyond this, the hassle of trying to figure out how much your luggage weighs while you are traveling (we had no access to a scale) isn't worth it. Would NEVER fly this airline again."

Cons: "This flight was about the 5th leg of our European trip. I attempted several times to complete the early check in on the website so that we would save the fee of checking in later at the airport but I was unable to. We left our hotel 4 hours prior to the flight departure because the metro ride was 1 hour to the Barcelona airport. Next, we waited in line at the airport and were then told to go wait in another line and pay 50 euros each for the airport check-in. Then, our flight was delayed so we got to spend a whole day of our vacation in the Barcelona airport! What a waste of valuable time for us. Next tour of Europe I will gladly spend up to $400 more for a reliable flight on a different airlines. Time is more valuable, especially vacation time!"

Cons: "The website is impossible. It appeared to process my bag payment only to find out it didn't. Address options for USA don't include my address so it won't process my credit card. Online chat "help" asked me to try several things, none of which worked. Paid for bags at airport for twice the price and told how to avoid it on the return flight by cashier. Of course that method didn't work either. Would not process the Paypal payment either. Hard to believe that all the online issues are not at least somewhat deliberate so they can bill more at the airport."

Cons: "My flight was cancelled due to strikes in Greece. I went to the airport to talk with a rep from RyanAir in person since they charge you to speak to in the phone and they were no help at all. They did not offer any type of rebooking. My initial flight was the following day at 6:15am. The strikes were called off and my flight was reinstated but I was sent an email after I went to sleep so I missed the original flight. I went back to the airport and was refused help to rebook on a new flight because it was my fault that I missed the reinstated flight when I was contacted by email at 10:30pm. I had to book with another airline at a much costlier expense, but they were much more pleasant and accommodating and even moved me to an earlier flight at no charge. i understand the strikes are out of their control but their customer service was terrible."
Cons: "I asked to have my ticket moved up two days which it was for a flight that wasn't full and was flying out in a hour but instead of using me to fill a seat and use my old ticket to sell they charged me a fee to change the date which was more than I originally paid for the first ticket then I had to pay for baggage wasn't included in my ticket like other airlines do. I was not the only one another guy at the counter was being charged extra for something stupid. He also stated he would not be doing business with Ryan Air again. I also will not recommend them to anyone. My flight was an hour late departing and we never were told why when I asked I was told don't worry about it in a very rude tone by the Flight attendant. During the flight it was more like a sales pitch over and over being asked if we wanted to buy refreshments instead of them being provided like other airlines. They also tried to sell me make up and perfume lastly they bothered us about donating to charities. It was a 1020pm-1120pm flight I would of loved to sleep or relax with it being so late not be hounded for money."

Cons: "Everything else. The seats were the smallest I've flown in a very long time. The boarding process was chaos. The flight attendants spent more time trying to sell us perfume than they did providing any type of service, such as a beverage service. In fact, they charged money for beverages (a lot too!), as well as pretty much every other aspect of the flight experience. How does it make any sense to charge you money for checking in for your flight at the airport if you have to visit the check in counter either way? Really crappy airline, I would only fly them or recommend them to someone who is also trying to pinch pennies wherever they can."

Cons: "Upon arrival to the Ryanair check in booth we were appalled to find that we were assessed absurd penalty fees for not checking in on-line 2 days prior to the flight. We had to pay 58 euros for the penalty and 46 euro for each checked bag. At least 1/2 of the customers on our flight were duped in to paying the same fee. The staff was rude, unapologetic and unconcerned with the disappointment of their customers. This seemed like an intentional scam to turn a 100 euro flight in to a 200+ euro flight. They should be ashamed of their business practices and I will NEVER be flying Ryanair again. Save yourself the headache and fly Aegean Air."

Cons: "Not much TO like. The biggest problem was having our luggage LOST for 90 mins after arriving at Rome. How does the plane lose our luggage on a DIRECT flight? And in that time items disappeared from one of our suitcases. Specifically, $60 U.S. And a set of Bluetooth wireless earphones. My fault I know for putting cash in a checked bag, but I KNOW they were in there when we left Barcelona. Just a huge lack of respect by their employees.But having to wait 90 mins to retrieve our luggage was just uncalled for. Also, having the flight crew acting like street vendors trying to sell items during the flight was very low class. I know you get what you pay for, but it felt very cheesy and unprofessional to have them moving thru the plane hawking wares."
Pros: "Crew was nice. Great landing. Took off a half hour late but landed only seven minutes late. Not bad at all!!"
Cons: "The arriving plane was late, which is understandable and not an issue. However the airport boarding crew insisted on boarding us even though the plane wasn't at the gate yet. We all stood in a hot gangway, then stood on a stairwell to the tarmack (again without air conditioning) while the crew cleaned the plane. During this time, people who didn't pay for priority seating were making their way to the front of the lines that caused some pushing and was unfair to my wife and I who paid for priority seating. That whole process should have been handled better."
Cons: "I was unable to take my Ryanair flight bc I couldn't get to Athens after a previous flight had been cancelled due to the bombing in Istanbul. I could not get through to anyone in customer service, only live chat and all they would do was have me fill out a complaint form. They refused to give me any refund or credit despite these terrible circumstances that were entirely out of my control. They took 4 days to respond. All of the other airlines I flew have full refunds or credits. Ryanair is horrible and greedy and supports terrorism"
