I also liked that the exit row that I was given had more than enough leg room, the dinner was really good for airplane food and snacks were great also. The attendant that I had for my section also told me that all food and drinks were free so they gave me a few extra adult drinks here and there which is a plus for how long the flight was going to be. The movie selection is great also having some on there that are still in theaters is a huge plus."

We were re-booked on connecting flights different then the one we originally booked and weren't even notified. They have a Delta app, but it doesn't even work right. Unless you physically go to the gate to check to see if the flight is on time, that is the only was to find out if you are re-booked onto a different flight or not. I have never flown an airline that re-books you on a different flight when they feel like it. I wouldn't recommend Delta Airlines to my worse enemy!"

When we checked in with an agent, we were told that this was because our information wasn't in Iceland air computers. This made no sense, as we had flown two legs of icelandair to europe, and were now boarding the 4 leg of iceland air flights in a 2 week period. We had also both flown iceland air before. Our friends had checked in at the automated machines and saw that there were many seats open. When we asked to see our seats, we were told that they were aisle seats across from each other. In fact, my wife had a middle seat. She is pregnant and really wanted easy access to the restrooms, and I am tall with a back injury. By the time we were up in the air and the seatbelt lights were off, everyone scrambled to the seats WE COULD HAVE HAD (in some cases to lay across 3 seats), and left us with no better options. My wife was extremely upset to have been lied to by the agent checking us in. She was disturbed for the entirety of the flight."

Passport control was backed up, which is not in Icelandair's control, but after that there was a check point by Icelandair to show your boarding pass that created a crowded bottle neck, so much so that lots of people were just going around the check point which made us wonder why you even needed that check point. Then when we arrived at our destination, two of our bags were not there. The baggage handlers had left one third of the bags in Iceland. We received one of the bags the next day, but the third has not been found, and customer service has been rude, told us they have probably lost it and they won't pay for any of the items that are in the lost bag. We have clothes, shoes, toiletries and gifts in the lost bag. We've been on hold for multiple phone calls only to talk to rude people who tell us to get over it and move on. We will not fly with Icelandair again."

Cons: "Though the free entertainment is welcome, it doesn't make up for the myriad of issues we had with Icelandair during our trip. First, both flights smelled like the bathroom toilet puck (the ones they put in urinals) was used to clean the airplane. Icelandair provides no food for free during international flights, which is an oddity (usually there's something during a six hour flight). I could maybe look past the smell and lack of food, but my wife and I were seated in different rows and sides of the airplane, even though we booked our flight together! Overall, I would recommend another airline. Lufthansa, KLM, or Condor if you're in Europe or traveling around that area. They all have small setbacks but are still far superior to Icelandair."

Imagine being late for your next flight, and having to steer your carry on baggage around crowded store isles! Then, you manage to find your gate...which is an effort in itself, as there are few signs...and there is ONE agent checking boarding passes of this massive crowd that is not lined up at ALL. Once in the air, Iceland Air performs well. But on the ground, it is nothing less than a MESS."

Pros: "I had a connection from Frankfurt to Seattle with a 45 minute layover in Reykjavik, my Frankfurt leg was delayed and it was later in the day so there was no way for me to make it to Seattle on time. At first they offered to put me up and Frankfurt, which I wasn't too happy about. I then asked them if I could take my delayed flight to Frankfurt and then just stay in Reykjavik for the night and take my original flight home, just the next day. To my surprise they said yes. Their service in Reykjavik was just phenomenal. I was greeted at the gate by an attendant who gave me the choice of staying in Keflavik (the town next to the airport) or in Reykjavik itself which is 30 miles from the airport. They put me up in a fancy 4 star hotel on the harbor in Reykjavik, covered my taxi rides (120 dollars each way) and my meals (costing about 100 dollars total for dinner, breakfast, and lunch. I could not have asked for a better layover experience!"

I love flying them because their service is great and their flights are affordable...but I still hate having to decide whether to fork over 20 dollars just for a meal. I'd rather have it included in the ticket price. The other annoying part of my flight was with the desk service at Frankfurt Airport. When our flight was delayed, we had to exit past security, go out to the main terminal and wait in a slow-moving line for our flights to be re-booked, hotels to be arranged, and baggage to be arranged etc. While the service team was very friendly and helpful, they were very poorly organized. It seemed like different agents were constantly having to move around and get approvals from other agents while some agents were just sitting around only signing an occasional expense form. I was waiting in line for almost an hour with just ten people in front of me! I feel like the line would have gone twice as fast if they worked a bit to eliminate bottlenecks!"

So the fast that BA overbooked cost me an extra 6 hours and $140 to buy a train & tube ticket to get back to Heathrow. The fact that there was not a single smile among the staff, and I had to argue to even get on the second flight, is inexcusable."

It disheartens me they have a lack of care and urgency for equipment that is so vital for daily mobility in people's lives."
