Cons: "The experience from the airport to the plane to Lome was beyond troubling. If ever you are flying internationally from NYC, never fly from Newark New Jersey. Nevertheless, upon boarding the Ethiopian Airline flight to Lome that was supposed to depart at 9:15 pm, the courtesy of the flight attendants was a bit mundane. My mother and I sat on the plane for about an hour after the time of the depart before inquiring why we have no moved and the doors were closed. The flight attendant responded with, "We shall be moving shortly." The air conditioner was barely on. My mother is battling stage 3 Cancer and is an older woman so, I feared for the safety of her health in such a condition. About 30 minutes passed, and we inquired again. This time with a different flight attendant and she said she just did not know what was going on. Other people on the plane began to panic in a sense as well because like my mother and I, they too had a connecting flight to catch. The pilot did not inform the passengers of what was occurring. So, at this point, all passengers on flight ET509 had been sitting on the plane for an hour and a half. By the time we were sitting on the plane for 2 HOURS with the doors closed the pilot finally informed us that they were waiting for some paperwork. He did not apologize or give more information as to why we were sitting on the plane so long, with practically no AC, and weren't informed about when we would be pulling off. About 10 minutes later, the plane began backing up while people were still standing because they were restless with the wait especially when we had a 10-hour flight ahead of us. The pilot then got on the loudspeaker stating that we will be pulling in the air shortly and for the flight attendants to be seated. The pilot did not apologize for the inconvenience or state how long the flight would be or what time we would land in Lome, Togo. Once we were in the air, there were many safety hazards administered by both the crew and pilot. The seat belt safety information was not given, the exit areas in case of emergency were not discussed, what to do in case of an emergency, where certain equipment would be in case of illness or an emergency, and we were still not informed about the cause of the 2 hours and 15-minute delay. My mother and I consistently checked the flight tracker and it did not show the duration of our flight, our location while flying, no flight information was displayed and as hard working paying passengers we should have had all of the information and not have to continuously ask to get a slight answer. Also, I am a vegan and they did not have food for me. But there was a flight attendant who gave me extra fruit which I greatly appreciated. The flight coming back to Newark was decent, going was the major issue. I pray we are accommodated for these great inconveniences. Because to have spent almost $3,000 and receive this type of treatment is both saddening and disturbing to me."

From boarding to the 45-minute flight my mother and I, as well as the other passengers including babies were sweating. Customers should not have to deal with such things people can get severely ill. This is beyond unsafe for customers and the staff. I am not sure who is responsible for this situation but I am not okay with it."

Cons: "Virtually everything about the boarding process was disorganized. We were met by Asky staff shouting out names to hand over our boarding passes for the connecting flight. The flight was well over two hours late (for a 40-minute flight, this was frustrating and completely unexplained by the crew). We had to be transported by bus to the plane and that was another hour-long process with very little apology from the overworked and overwhelmed staff. Ethiopian Airlines and ASKY appears to be a bargain in terms of price but I would be highly unlikely to use them in the future after such a disappointing introduction. I’m sure they lost several dozen repeat clients because of the disorganized nature of their transfers from Newark and the nonchalant attitude of their staff. I would not recommend this, especially for elderly and disabled passengers or families with young children."
Cons: "I just learned from the airport that carry on bags are 7 kgs only. Since I had my computer in it I was forced to hold it in my hands."

Pros: "The flight itself was quick and pretty stress-free. It wasn't a full flight so there was space for everyone to comfortably spread out. An okay experience overall. It the human interaction with the staff and customer experience could use some improvement."
Cons: "Checking in Took 45 minutes for whatever reason. The ground staff were really slow with the process. They also made me check in my small carry-on bag due to their frankly inconsistent carry-on regulation (I saw many other passengers on board with 2 or 3 sizeable pieces and the flight wasn't even close to being nearly full)."

Cons: "My flight to Lagos was overbooked, I was at the airport in plenty of time for check in. When I arrived, I was told my reservation was sold. I had to go to a roach motel, paid to stay there, and left the next day on long flight with 2 stops and a lay over, instead of a direct flight to Lagos. I was never reimbursed for my wasted time or hotel fees I had to pay. They all spoke French, I do not."

Cons: "The lady at the check-in counter did accept to check my luggage to my final destination. As result I have to check-in twice (Abidjan and Lome). Waiting for the luggage and re-check in twice was a waste of time."

Pros: "My flight was shifted an entire day late, interrupting my previous plans. I also had carry-on luggage that was almost checked through to my final destination, however on a previous flight of their's they had lost my checked baggage. I would not recommend this airline to anyone who needs flights to be on time or luggage to arrive"

Cons: "Upon arrival to the airport, we were informed that the flight was cancelled. Without any information, we were put on a bus to go to a hotel that was chosen for us. I was only given the name of the hotel because I made the woman tell me. No choice was given in lodging. Once there, we were fed, again, no choice given. We were just told that lunch was ready. Facilities in the room did not work and just showering caused the bathroom to flood. Not to mention the low security outside where the gate was left open all night. In order to get my new flight itinerary, I had to go back to the airport to ask at the ASKY office. This situation was handled poorly because of their policies to "send people" to the arranged hotel."
Cons: "They cancelled the flight, and would not put me on the Camair flight to Libreville. I had to pay a lot of money to get on that flight. Asky said they would put me on a flight to Lagos the next day, and then get me from Lagos to Libreville. Very unhelpful staff, and no information about why they cancelled the flight. Don't fly ASKY!"
