It is just a normal flight. Short flight. The Aircraft was bit older and was very shaky.
I love my experience with this airline. The crew was very accommodating and the service was more than excellent. It felt like being home up in the clouds.
There was difficulty with my connecting flight due to inconsistent COVID regulations. I was almost not allowed on, despite fulfilling all my requirements for my destination country. I was over-billed by Alaska Airlines for my luggage as well.

Eventually, when I pointed out that I could wear enough of the clothes from the carry on, they agreed to let me take it on. On board, the service was cold, bland and infrequent. The entertainment system lost sound perhaps 20 minutes into the flight."

I would like to ask for the same standard of parents traveling with children who are 6 or younger to board first so they can get settle and these patents are tiring from dealing with their children during the flight. They are extra tired than regular passengers."

Eventually, I asked another attendant who put me in another chair and cleaned up. During the flight, NO water was distributed at all. Normally, this is done every 1-2 hours."

Also other departures finally recieving a pushback from the gate after significant delays. EVA captain was good about keeping the passengers informed about delay and anticipated times for actual departure when the tower would inform him."

Cons: "first, although this was an international trip , in business class, the seats were more like something you would find in the premium economy section of other airlines. They were tired and outdated. Second, The entertainment package was abysmal. Basically, you were forced to watch a TV with bad reception, and no ability to choose what you wanted to see other than flipping through the channels and seeing what was already on. That meant never seeing the beginning of a movie. The picture quality was very poor. Although an international flight of seven hours duration, it felt more like a charter bus to Vegas buy a discount operator. I have the exact same experience flying from Korea to San Francisco on a prior trip. If I could learn how to determine which aircraft I would be flying in the future, I would never book an international trip on Asiana knowing that this particular aircraft would convey me."

Pros: "Asiana staff are not trained in medical issues such as what to do when a passenger complains they are feeling weak from low blood sugar/hypoglycemia conditions. It is common for people with low blood sugar to have blood sugar drops while flying. The condition is dangerous if not handled properly but can be remedied very easily by simply increasing a passenger's intake of protein (such as chicken or beef) and carbohydrates, such as rice (but not white bread or deserts, as those cause spikes and drops in blood sugar). Basically, you only need an extra meal. I told a crew member about my condition and said I simply needed a second meal. She gave me a problem about it and at first refused. She understood the English words low blood sugar, but she was obviously not trained in that common issue. I was ready to pass out due to a drop in blood sugar and only when I threatened to file a lawsuit in a U.S. court against Asiana (as I anticipated passing out) did she react. Within a few seconds after I mentioned a potential lawsuit, she got me a second meal of chicken and rice. I ate it and the protein and carbs stabilized my blood sugar for the rest of the flight. It's a problem easily remedied but I had to argue with the flight attendant to grant my very simple but very necessary request. Asiana needs to comply with the norms of global carriers and train its staff to understand such comment conditions as low blood sugar. U.S. and European carrier understand this condition very well, and their crews are trained in how to handle it by simply giving extra food. Asiana needs to comply with modern, global norms."

The woman behind me gave me the local phone number for Austrian airlines and I was able to get on a flight to US leaving in 30 minutes. I managed to make it, and would not have had I waited another hour in line. Why no surge of staff to help? All 3 help numbers on my Lufthansa e-mail receipt could not help. Horrible experience."

Pros: "Our seats 35 A & C were comfortable as they were to the back of the plane where it narrows to two seats per side row. Seemed like extra leg room. Crew was very friendly and helpful. Flight was smooth and uneventful. Good movie choices. Bathroom was clean and nearby. Plane seemed newer Boeing model. The City Airport Transport (CAT) train from the Vienna airport to city center was fantastic. We were able to check our luggage and get boarding passes where we boarded the CAT at the metro station and did not have to wait in line at the airport...wonderful system!"
Cons: "At the gate there was a line formed for a second passport check but it was not clear to passengers that they needed to go through this line. A significant number of us had SSSS on our boarding passes which required us to go through a second, more thorough, TSA security procedure. We had to remove shoes, take electronics including phones from cases, have purse contents gone through by personnel, be screened for residue, etc. Due to this process and the fact that we were not advised to stand in the line, a number of passengers went through the second security check at the last minute which caused our takeoff to be delayed. The pilot made up the time during the flight. I ordered low sodium meal which ended up to be the same food at both meals which was a disappointment - pasta with tomato, eggplant sauce."

Cons: "The birding officer didn't inform me about the visa requirements to cross from Dusslouf to Vinna airport. This caused a big problem for me in the airport, where I: 1- Wasn't allowed to catch my flight ti Vinnea and this was both financial and time lost for me. 2- I was locked in Dussluff airport for more than 14 hours, I was threatened to be sent back to USA or any other country. This caused physiological damage for me, as I been treated like an animal 3- I was asked to pay for my new ticket ( Dussloff - Istanbul-Amman )"

Cons: "That was the most uncomfortable flight I have had. It was hard fora short flight, though sitting so close to another passenger, side and front was stressful. Plus, my back was killing me by the end of the short flight- and the long flight from Europe to the US was hard. It was pretty much knocking elbows with the passenger next to me when eating. And mind you- no passenger in my row as any larger than the average person. The seat recline was fine and marginally helpful in relieving back strain- except it did put you in the lap of the passenger behind you. The passenger across the aisle from me shoved the seat in front of her and told the passenger in front of her he could NOT recline. The passenger next to her (I assume her husband) joined in with the shoving. I finally felt a need to intervene and calm them down as it began to escalate- and I did want the flight to continue. Note- while I think the passengers shoving the seat were a bit rude- the crowded nature of the seating with the recline was hard, so I understand. But the person in front had a reason (and a NEED given the discomfort) to lean his seat back. The seats were simply too uncomfortable to keep them upright. I helped them find a recline for both passengers that was reasonably okay. I also tried to get my recline somewhere between comfortable for me (impossible) and reasonable in space for the person behind me, This is an airline problem. And when people wonder about the rise in passenger rage... this cramming in is it. I had to use Austrian because of a last minute need to book a flight- given the inability to relax even a little and the residual back and leg pain ... thus my ability to immediately jump into work during a busy work and travel schedule means that I will definitely not take this airline again. If you are shorter than 5' 5 and weigh about 100 lbs- this might be okay. Otherwise, expect to be a lot of rats shoved in a cage."
Pros: "The boarding and exiting of the aircraft was smooth and organized. I really do prefer that passengers be strictly monitored when boarding the plane according to their seats. It really does make sense to board the plane from the rear forward. I realize airlines feel like they have to make their business class passengers feel special, but it really doesn't make sense for passengers to be climbing over one another."
Cons: "I left my entertainment at home in a mad rush to depart which is very unusual for me. As a result, I had to rely on Austrian Airlines' copyright licenses, and they were less than satisfactory. Fortunately, I'm flying back with Lufthansa, so I hope there will be more variety there. The lavatory at the back of the plane was filthy by the end of the flight. I don't understand why the flight attendants feel to good to clean the lavatories for their passengers. We are stuck on a flying can for 9-10 hours and deserve to have clean lavatories during that time. At one point, I was thirty and approached the back of the plane. When I entered the rear galley, the ladies looked at me like I was intruding. If self-service is not available for passengers, then flight attendants should be prepared to serve their customers."

When we debarked from the Austrian Airline onto the tarmac and picked up our luggage, I could find no signs indicating where to go for connecting flights, nor any signs indicating the gates of connecting flights. I was told that to make a connecting flight, I should go out to the main lobby of the airport, At the information desk they directed me to the Air Canada check in desk, where I found the check-in for my flight was closed. That was the the beginning of a nightmare chase to get to the plane to Toronto. I made it only because of the kindness of people in the check in, security and customs lines. Austrian Airlines should be kinder to its passengers making connecting flights. They seemed to abandon us passengers in a chaotic airport."

I'm familiar with Launceston airport so it was okay, but for someone not familiar, especially an international visitor, it would have been confusing as to which flight was which especially as no announcement or visual display was given that our flight was running late."

I put them safely on the plane in Chicago, and their Dad flew to Abu Dhabi to meet them when they got off the plane and fly together to Kuwait. On the return flight they fly to Abu Dhabi with no problem. Then, they try to board their connecting flight to Chicago, and they tell my kids they overbooked the flight and they can't travel for at lest 2 more days. If they had to remove someone from the plane, how in the hell do they choose a 14 and 15 year old traveling alone to stay in Abu Dhabi for 2 full days! I'm livid!"
