The boarding process was a nightmare, very disorganized the crew members starting boarding group by group just using ONE of the two entrances available because of it the line to board the plan occupied almost 2 boarding gates. I couldn’t reclaim my seat because it was broke, the quality of the food was very mediocre, crew members attitude were upsetting... uncaring and ignoring passengers call. Another filthy plain ... I had 4 flights with avianca between 2 International fights and 2 national connections, all flights were terrible! The worse part is I probably could’ve flight more comfortable for less money or at least get what I paid for."

My guess, they overbooked the flight as they always do, this trip was for my son (20) traveling by himself for the first time, they took advantage of his inexperience; this is is my 3rd bad experience with Avianca and definitely the last one!"

We had over an hour wait to get inside then it was a long run to get the the gate on time. The problems that Avianca is having with its flights, on time percentage and upset passengers is very Sad. Normally Avianca is the best airline in the American Zone! They need to fix their internal problems quickly or their bottom line will get punished."
Cons: "It was late and then I missed my connection, and an Avianca employee told me there was a later flight from LAX to PDX (at 11:45 on AlaskaAir) which I would be put on. However, once I arrived I was told I was on a 6 AM on Delta with no arrangement to get me a hotel or anything. I bought a separate ticket on that 11:45 flight on Alaska Air to PDX instead. Extremely unhappy with this service and will never again use it. I will also tell everyone in my social circles, in person and online, to stop using it."

I agreed and had to make arrangements to make transportation from manisales to pereira,for my surprise on the way to manisales the flight got redirected to Pereira my original destination, that was great but created another inconvenience for my transportation arrangements."

Cons: "After all these connecting flights especially after being delayed in Cali, the flight in Bogota was delayed and the Avianca crew did not announce it. After realizing it was time for boarding according to the time that I needed to be at the gate from my ticket, that's when people were realizing there was an issue. Once I got to the podium and handed my tickets the staff handed a voucher. There wasn't a hello, we're sorry for the inconvenience or the reason why the flight was delayed 2 hours. I had to ask them why what happened, what is the voucher for, how does it work, what time we were expected to be at the gate. The staff made everyone aware that we needed to be at the gate at 4pm so we can depart at 445pm. The food was okay and the staff looked a little annoyed when serving drinks. I shouldn't say all of the crew but from the back half of the plane the staff looked annoyed if not bothered. Didn't get to NYC until 12am, but had to wait on the runway for an additional 20 minutes. Again no communication on what was going on."

Copa has no wifi and the smallest bathroom of any airline!

We seem destined to have to check in at the counter as online check-in doesn't work for us."

Scl is crazy airport — 20 minute wait for gate ramp when we got there (still 20 minutes early, instead of 40! On a 60-minute scheduled flight!). Huge long walk to immigration. Pretty long wait for bags. But it all worked out fine."

Bus driver could not tell me for sure what time we were going to be picked up in the morning - maybe 6:30 AM? I was told. No one at the gate gave me this information either. I was ready at 6:15 AM and the bus was full. I waited for second bus. No breakfast at the hotel. Flight to Santiago was uneventful and crew during the flight were polite."

Cons: "My original flight was supposed to land at 8:55pm but I was notified that it had been changed to land closer to midnight which was a problem because my hotel closed at midnight. After talking to the customer service agent at the airport he told me the reason my flight had changed was because my original airplane was flying out of another airport and the only way to make the flight that I had booked was to take a cab ride to the other airport. What he didn't explain was that its a 45+ minute drive between the two airports and I only had about 1.5 hours to get my bag, get on the taxi, check in at the other airport, clear security AND customs. Somehow by the grace of god it all came together but it was certainly a harrowing experience, not to mention the $45 I lost in cab fares. I cannot recommend LAN/LATAM."
Pros: "I flew from Baltimore to Miami to Bogotá with zero issues. I am a musician and was traveling with my guitar, nobody hassled me and there was adequate space. The only issue was in Bogotá for my return flight. After struggling with the LATAM kiosk machine I was told by a LATAM ticket agent that flights from Bogotá to Miami are through American Airlines. Luckily a very nice American Airline agent accompanied me back to LATAM and convinced them my flight was with LATAM. Everything else was simple and easy!"

I had to push to have them check that indeed we were going all the way to calama. They were convinced we weren’t and that we’d have to pay the baggage fee twice."

Cons: "Crew did not tell us local time, or at least not in English, when landing. The time on my watch and phone matched what was on my itinerary for the layover. But we were actually 2 hours late! Missed my connection due to this hiccup. Pretty sure such things are WHY they always announce local time"
Cons: "They changed, until I left, the boarding gate three times. They gave me 27 at the check in counter, after a while monitors sent us to 24, then they directed us to 27 again, then to 26 and finally to gate 29. First the delay was 2 and a half hours, then three, then 4, then 7 hours. I was traveling for one meeting from one day coming back the next afternoon. With the 7 hour delay, I'd have to go directly from the airport, after a horrible night, to my board meeting. It was a no go. I declined to travel and expect a full refund"
Cons: "Flight was delayed with no explanation or proper update. Didn’t even give you a glass of water for a flight that was over three hours long (had to pay for everything). Booked it so people were cramped together while others had entire rows to themselves (on other flights I’ve been on flight attendants recognize this and help space out people). Horrible seats in general with no space and I am a very petite female and I felt uncomfortable. Horrible temperate control. Will not fly this airline again."
