I was happy but not blown away but the carrier. I was spoiled last time I took a 14h trip to Japan on JAL in a dreamliner. That was amazing. This was about what I'd expect on a flight in a 737 to Chicago from Boston, but it was about five times longer! At least they had good food and the entertainment options were great.
The checkin counter experience was not good. I had business class tickets but was checkin at an Economy counter resulting in my boarding pass not being for business class so when I went in to immigration lines and throughout the rest of the process I did not receive priority that Business class should have received. In addition when I enquirer about TSA preaplroval at the counter I was told Chicago does not have preaplroval at Terminal 5 but in reality passengers with TSA-pre were being sent through the lines without having to take off their shoes and laptops etc. overall the checkin process should have been much more informative.
we need to check in again at Beijing airport. the restroom is so terrible .
It looks like economy starts in the 30's - so my seat 35K wast actually just a few rows in, not in the rear of the plane as I would have expected (in the States). Luckily I looked up when I was only at row 37 and could sneak back to my seat real quick!
The movies weren't working. They served one glass of wine. The stewardesses didn't seem to be interested in any issues.

You left me stranded in Bali and wouldn’t rebook me. You wouldn’t give me a full refund. You made me purchase an entirely new flight with a different airline. I spent FIVE hours on hold waiting to speak with a representative. I will advise anyone I know to never fly China Airlines
Very attentive and pleasant stewards in business class. Boardjbgblrocedures good.
We had to climb up stairs to get on the plane. There were elderly travelers who struggled to carry their hand luggage. No help was offered This needs to be remedied. Food also was not too palatable. Could be better Difficult to understand English of the announcements. Also when delayed in landing no announcements made br the captain though we were hovering in the air for 45 mins.

Boarding was chaotic and not properly handled to separate Premium passengers from rest of passengers. Was made to check my small bag when others were able to carry on more than two bags and heavier ones. Food was mediocre.
The business class bed was the best I have yet encountered. The food and service were great. And the stews? Gorgeous and so agreeable. One young lady even helped me with my back injury; turns out she was studying physical therapy. You can't find a better ride than that,
Service was nice.
Comparing to recent businesses class flight on Emirates; Singapore airlines seat does not recline to flat bed. Boarded flight st 11pm and arrived at Singapore at 7am. Toiletries like tooth brush and paste, razor etc. were not provided. Emirates provides, so we did not pack in-flight.
The people were excellent.
I had planned to check an extra piece of luggage, gifts and purchases for church needs. They wanted to charge me $3,655(!!!) for that. Absurd. I had to leave the suitcase behind. I will probably fly on a different airline whenever I go to Russia now.
Boarding ok, timely departure. Food very good for plane food.
Announced early landing but then doing circles without any update, we ended up being 30min late. Updates would have been good.

Food, comfort, service. Good comfort for an economy ticket. No complaints. Movies worked great, blankets and pillows provided. I thought good leg room, but I am only 5’4”. But I still get crowded on domestic flights—seems the seats get smaller and closer together on short flights every year. ANA was good service to Japan. Business class and first class looked awesome. Maybe someday.

I accidentally left an external battery in my check in bag and they stopped me to open my bag and remove it as I was boarding. This is obviously my fault but I wish they had called me up earlier to not disrupt the other passagers and slow the boarding process.
