Cons: "The food, the entertainment"
Pros: "The crew was not grntle"
Cons: "Delayed takeoff. That happens but very poor communication about the delay."
Cons: "The seats aren’t comfortable, the entertainment system is finicky, not much leg room."
Pros: "Flight was smooth and didn't feel like 9 hours! Crew handled an ill passenger in a caring and professional manner."
Cons: "Seated in the middle of four center seats, crew overlooked offering beverages/food a couple of times."
Cons: "Don’t let me book my seats on line and then tell me “not for this fare” ($1700) at the airport. We have special needs and were not accommodated"
Cons: "We were traveling with my 94-year-old grandfather who needed wheelchair assistance. And it took the 4th person I asked to get any assistance. The very first Alitalia person I tried to speak to was the very worst. Though her job was to check people in, she said she couldn't help me and to go to another counter. When I asked if she could please at least make a call to get a wheelchair (my grandfather was at the airport entry and couldn't walk) she made a terrible face, threw the papers on her desk around and said I had to go to another counter. When I went to the counter she pointed at, I was told again I would have to go to another counter. No offense to dog owners, but the animals that were traveling received better assistance."
Pros: "Not much. Mediocre everything. Was nice that the flight was not very full."
Cons: "This was an Alitalia flight. Food was awful, flight attendants were quite rude and curt. Really poor experience overall."
Pros: "Crew was pleasant there were many seats vacant"
Cons: "Flight boarding starte 25 minuets late"
Cons: "Boarding was late again, 25 minutes this time Seats are Too Tight"
Pros: "The flight itself from NYC was great, the connection flight was great."
Cons: "The worst boarding process I ever seen! The airport people and crew didn’t tell people what’s going on, there was a uhh delay. Big lines of people just standing and waiting. The flight took off 45 min late!!"
Pros: "As expected. Crew was excellent."
Pros: "Muffin distribution and the cushion"
Cons: "There was the used cups and dirts left in the pocket of the seat I was assigned. It was dirty and disgusting."
Cons: "Alitalia and SkyTeam still can't figure out how to check luggage through on separately ticketed flights, even if both flights are the same airline."
Pros: "Ok ok."
Cons: "Our bag out of luggage was missing and more than 24 hours there was no action. We were left helpless as due to Easter everything was closed and could not arrange any alternative."
Cons: "We arrived at the airport at 9:00 to check in for our flight that was scheduled for departure at 12:15 and we were told that we could not check in until 2 hours before the flight (10:15). All of the passengers for flight AZ1466 lined up in front of a check-in counter that displayed Alitalia for our flight. At 10:45 they announced the check in for AZ1466 at a different check-in counter knowing full-well that everyone was lined up for flight AZ1466 on our line. So then everyone that was lined up at the first counter had to line up at the new counter. My wife and I were initially 3rd in line and then after we had to move we were in the very back of the line. On top of that, they only had 1 person checking everyone into economy (which was most of the people on the plane) and they also had to weigh everyone’s carry-on baggage. We were initially told they had weather issues with the snow in Rome and they did not know if we would take off on time or would be cancelled. However, I was getting e-mail messages from Kayak stating our flight was on-time. So how is it that a 3rd party travel company knew what was going on, but the crew at Alitalia did not? Afterward I had to go through security, wait on the tax refund line, and go straight to board the plane. After that we waiting on the plane for 50 minutes and did not take-off until 1:05 PM. These were the problems in short: 1. No one informed us that we could not check in at this particular airport until 2 hours prior to flight departure. 2. They did not begin the check in process until 90 minutes prior to departure. 3. We had to switch check-in lines and they only had 1 check-in person. 4. We had no time to shop or eat lunch at the airport. 5. We boarded the plane and waited until 13:05 to takeoff when we were scheduled to take off at 12:15 (50 minute delay). 6. We received no communications about delays from Alitalia (via e-mail or app). However, we received e-mails from Kayak stating everything was on time. We had no communication from Alitalia about the delay or that we could not check in early (which you could do at every other airport I have been to). We also had a connecting flight in Rome that we were concerned we would miss. We arrived at Rome airport on a delayed flight out of Marco Polo airport (AZ1466). Our 13:40 flight to JFK (AZ610) was delayed until 14:45. After we arrived at Rome airport we ran through the airport to our gate and boarded the plane. After we boarded the plane we waited until 16:10 to take-off (85 minute delay). We did not receive any communication from Alitalia via e-mail, the Alitalia app, or crew members that our flight was being delayed any longer than it already was. We planned on stopping to use the bathrooms in the airport, eat a decent lunch, and shop (which I promised my wife we could do at the airport). However, we could not do any of those things because we did not receive any information about delays from Alitalia. After we arrived home in New York the airline l"
Pros: "The Crew was really helpful with baby, bringing bassinet (that I reserved prior to the trip) and letting me boarding preferentially."
Cons: "Probably not the company fault, but my stroller was a little damaged when I got it at my destination."
Pros: "The lady at the check in counter was super nice, I was a few kilos over and she didn’t charge me extra"
Cons: "The plane looked old and dirty"
Cons: "SHOULD HAVE BEEN WARNED THAT THE IMMIGRATION TOOK LONGER THAN EXPECTED BECAUSE OF THE QUEUE."
Cons: "Horrible experience with Alitalia. They boarded us on a plane that had a wheel issue, and kept us on the ground for 2 hours before they decided to de-plane us. We then had to wait in a 5+ HOUR LINE to get rerouted (nope, they won't handle these issues online or over the phone, you have to wait in line). And THEN they wanted us to wait in a 2 hour line to re-drop off our bags. We got stuck overnight in Rome and were put in a horrible Hilton Garden Inn and barely made it in time to use our coupon for a "free meal" (aka, frozen meatballs and stale bread in a buffet that had been sitting out all night). On our flight back, the food was absolutely terrible, the movie selections were old and scarce, and the seats were uncomfortable. We called to complain as soon as we got home and still have not heard back from Alitalia. I will never fly with them again."
Cons: "Although reservations for our return flight from Rome to Boston were made 5 months ago, we were bumped from our flight, not advised in advance, and missed several important work engagements. The management at the Alitalia desk at the airport was not up to the task of reassigning everyone. Understaffed and under equipped (staff was unable to get online to reschedule and re-issue new boarding passes) We are senior travelers (75 and 80 years old) and were forced to stand in lines for 3 hours We're headed to the airport now, the next day, and I am dreading the experience."
Pros: "I had not flown overseas in so long that I had forgotten how nice flying could be. The flight attendants were especially attentive and helpful. Not only did we get a "free" meal, but it included white or red wine if desired. I felt like I was experiencing what flying used to be like in an earlier time."
Pros: "Really comfy headrests and blankets. Easiest plane I've slept on by far."
Cons: "Headset wasn't working so I could watch tv or listen to music."
Pros: "Almost nothing"
Cons: "- Rude crew - Uncomfortable seats - Broken seats - Missed our order for Vegan meals"
Pros: "I didn't"
Cons: "The flight was only supposed to take two hours but instead they sat around for another hour and a half or so and then there was so little leg room that my knees even if I was all the way against the back wall showed into the seat in front of me so bad that I had to stick them out in the aisle and said crooked and then my seat would not latch"
Pros: "pretty comfort seats, and they give u a neck pillow!"
Pros: "Once arriving in Rome, the agents were very helpful in getting us a hotel for the night. However, at that point, it was very late and we had to wait for everyone else to be accommodated as well. It would have been a better process to have allowed passengers more information prior to arriving in Rome at 22:00"
Cons: "We missed our connecting flight to Palermo. For hours before, while we were stuck at Heathrow, we had little to no information as to what would happen once we landed in Rome. We were traveling with two small children and this was extremely frustrating and tiring."
Pros: "Entertainment choices, boarding efficiency, helpful staff"
Cons: "Delayed departure - then even more delayed arrival - stuck on tarmac. First row of extra leg seats are extra narrow to account for entertainment system."
Pros: "Not much, but food was decent."
Cons: "Oldest plane I've seen in recent years, crew barely acknowledged our presence (talked to each other the whole time), no working air conditioning, and big metal boxes in front of the window seats that take up all of the leg room (yes these seats aren't cheaper."
Pros: "The flight departed on time and arrived 35 minutes early. The flight crew was very helpful onboard."
Cons: "Tried to upgrade my elderly parents to more comfortable seats when checking in, but was told the flight was full and there were none available. It didn't appear that way after being boarded and seated."
Cons: "The lost my suitcases"
Pros: "Initially I was a little worried because Alitalia had given us some disappointments in the past, but it was the most convenient flight this time for our final destination. We had to take 3 flights to arrive to our final destination, 2 with Alitalia. The crew was polite, helpful. We were very happy that for the first time Alitalia didn't loose our luggage(!) and we got it in Athens. Thank you!!!"
Pros: "fast boarding"
Cons: "crews are extremely rude; whenever they had to move the cart in the isles they always ended up slamming every passengers arm without a single apology. and they have no control of the environment due to some young passengers were making loud noises during the whole flight."
Pros: "Not too much. Standard flight. They had ok wine I guess."
Cons: "Ancient planes. Had to use proprietary headphones, I thought they stopped doing that. No USB. Screens seemed 20 years old. It's 2017!"
Cons: "Everything. Paid premium economy, didn't even have milk for coffee, seats were horrible, food was mainly bread. Old entertainment. Snappy staff. Would never recommend this airline to anyone!!"
Cons: "Seats are to tied , Unprofessional service"
Pros: "Boarding on time. The pilot 's job was excellent!!!"
Cons: "The service on board was really slow and not satisfying.. The food not as it used to be. I began flying your company about 40 years ago! What a change over the years!"
Cons: "Missed a day of work"
Cons: "Very small seats and too warm!"
Cons: "flight was over 30 minutes late which is unacceptable for a 1:55 flight!!!!"
Cons: "Alitalia is a Bullshit company, we were late to our connection because of the air line, they told us the next flight is waiting for us, but they didn't... We got tickets to the next flight with no compensation and they lost our snowboard case."
Cons: "Worst airline company ever. Lost my baggage for 4 days although a friend of mine on the exact same flight with me received his. I'm on a snowboarding trip and they lost all my gear and basically made it impossible to enjoy my vacation. I sent 3 emails and no one has contacted me yet! I agree that these things might occur but the airline has to take responsibility for their mistakes and address the issues. WORST airline I've been to, if you are thinking of using it I double insure everything and don't count on them to be responsive!"
Pros: "Crew very nice on Air Berlin"
Cons: "Long layover in Rome."
Pros: "Did not misplace my suitcase as they did on my October 28,2016 going to Rome. That was very stressful!"
Cons: "Alitalia customer service not answering and updating information on misplaced luggage. They acknowledged the mail...that's about it!"
Pros: "AlItalia Flight 629 was operated by Airbus A330-200, which is a smaller version of A300 family. The seats were comfortable with enough legroom. The service was OK: there was no cocktail service, but only a dinner, which was surprisingly tasty. Alcohol-wise they served only wine in coach, which was also available throughout the flight at the self-service station by the galley, Overall, I would rate the my flight as just Okay."
Cons: "The flight was delayed over 80 minutes due to "the wait for necessary paperwork," as the pilot has stated. During the wait for the departure, the a/c was off and it was very hot, stuffy and uncomfortable on board the plane. As a result of the delay, I barely made my connecting flight, and there were many passengers that missed their connecting flights."
Pros: "Left on time with no delays."
Cons: "Delayed in airplane upon landing in Rome. Barely enough time for connecting flight."
