Jordan has reopened its international airport.
From December 21, Jordan has suspended all direct air passenger flights to and from the UK. Passengers who have been in the UK within the previous 14 days, including passengers who have passed through the UK in transit, are not permitted to enter Jordan.
All arriving travelers aged 5 or older must have a medical certificate with a negative Coronavirus (COVID-19) PCR test result issued a maximum of 72 hours prior to arrival. Those without a medical certificate will be subject to medical screening. Travelers will also be re-tested on arrival, and will need to pre-pay the cost of 40JD (approximately $56) online in advance of their flight. Foreign/non-resident travelers must also have a full medical insurance coverage for the duration of their stay.
All travelers must complete an electronic application form 24 hours before departure at Gateway 2 Jordan website. They will receive a confirmation code via email. They will also need to install the "Aman" app for contact tracing while in Jordan. Travelers who have been in, or transited through, a green classified country or region must have a PCR test taken within 5 days prior to departure, and bring the results of the test with them to Jordan.
Travelers will take a second PCR test in Jordanian airports and will wait in designated areas at the airport until test results are available. If the test result is negative and the traveler has not been in contact with an individual who has tested positive inside the aircraft, the traveler will be directed to passport control and will be free to enter the country. In case of a positive result; travelers will be treated according to health protocols outlined by the Ministry of Health and will be transported to one of the approved hospitals for treatment. If the individual is non-Jordanian, they will bear their treatment expenses; however, all passengers are required to carry private international health insurance policies.
Passengers arriving to Jordan are no longer subject to quarantine measures. A negative PCR test within 72 hours of their arrival is, however, required.
Arriving passengers who have been in contact with a positive case inside the aircraft, and who are classified as “people in contact” can either return on board the same aircraft, if possible, or quarantine themselves at their accommodation for 7 days. Another PCR test will be taken on the 6th day of their arrival; if the test result is negative, the quarantine ends after 7 days. Travelers who have been in, or transited through, a yellow and red classified country or region must have a PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to departure and bring the results of the test with them to Jordan. Non-Jordanian nationals who both test positive on arrival at the airport and have valid health insurance will be sent to a quarantine facility at the Dead Sea or a private hospital. In the event that an individual’s insurance does not cover the complete costs of hospital care for the duration of the illness, the Government of Jordan will return the individual to his or her origin country. Note that testing requirements are subject to change with little or no notice.
International transfer passengers are allowed at Jordanian Airports and require:
•negative PCR test within 72 hours before arrival; •transfer time does not exceed 6 hours
Arrivals from Turkey, Egypt and Iraq need to have a PCR test from accredited Labs only. A List of accredited Labs can be found on the Gateway 2 Jordan website.

I don't like that they can't tell you the gate of your connecting flight and how long it will take to get you there - including if you will need to take a bus and the train. I think this could reduce a lot of anxiety. If they could do this, it would also be helpful to let people who have a connecting flight that is boarding in the next 30 mins off the plane first. This would save pushing and shoving in the aisles... and would also reduce anxiety about booking a flight with such a short layover."

However, because of the diplomatic row between Turkey and the U.S., my daughter was refused entry into Turkey. Turkish airlines' policy was to refund the ticket of any American caught in this row. They said they will refund my one month old daughter's ticket. However, my wife and i will not receive a refund. We bought the three tickets together. Our ticket numbers ended in 235...51, 235...52, and 235...53. However, they will not refund our whole money by cancelling the ticket but only that of my daughter. So this is the question: Does Turkish airline want me to leave my one-month old baby in the U.S. and tavel with my wife to Turkey? What kind of parents will we be if we were to abandon our daughter to take a trip to Turkey. Even, the people in Turkish airlines will judge us evil parents, yet that was exactly the only option they gave us. Lose your daughter or lose your ticket money. They will not even just change our iternary or give us another destination we suggested without penalties which are almost 3/4 of our initial ticket price. They just made away with our money. You cannot say, 'We are cancelling tickets for American citizens' but make no exception for parents of infant citizens. This is the height of criminality. So, me and my family couldn't take the flight and lost $1500. We had to buy another ticket by airfloat to get to Georgia. But Turkish airlines refused to even contact us on the refund for my daughter. A truly criminal enterprise."

Pros: "Nothing, we never got to go on our flight to Vienna. The only good thing is the manager, Servando, found us an alternative route after some delay. Even then, we had to haggle and really fight for fair treatment for a mistake that was 100% the airline's fault."
Cons: "Our seats were involuntarily given away by the airport staff. We were never notified until we were scanning our tickets to board in. At that time, we had already checked in and received our boarding passes, as well as checking in 3 bags while we were traveling with a large group. There was no way we wanted to volunteer our seats, especially since we had a transfer flight to catch. We clearly stated we did NOT want to volunteer our seats at the ticket counter. No staff notified us until we were about to get on the plane to board. The flight supervisor was very rude and unprofessional, offering us no alternative solutions. I was really disappointed with such a grievous mistake by the airline, and I would not recommend flying Austrian Airlines unless it was absolutely the only airline available. They need to fix their processes for authorizing when they volunteer a passenger's seat. This caused our group a lot of stress and almost became a logistical nightmare."
Pros: "the flight missed my connection and they were AWESOME in handling it, getting me on a Swiss Air flight. That flight also missed its connection and Swiss Air took great care to put me up in a hotel. They made a frustrating situation so much smoother!"
Cons: "THey denied me and I lost all tickets including back trips as well. Nobody helped me to change tickets, they just care about money and reselling my tickets to other passengers."

We were never updated during the weight and when we were told that the flight was canceled everyone was told to go back to the ticketing area to pick up their luggage and to find other options. When we were almost halfway there we were told to turn around and that the flight in fact was not canceled. The food was mediocre at best in the service on the plane was in adequate. They were understaffed and staff to peer to be stressed and fatigued. The seats were small and cramped and not well padded in the economy section. We are going to be flying on Lufthansa in the spring and will hope that their services are better than what we experienced on Austrian air."

We arrived to the gate to start the boarding and they just told us wait here for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes we were asked to wait another 20 minutes. Only when we missed the take off time by 10 minutes they bothered to update us and inform us that the flight is being delayed in 2 hours."
Cons: "The birding officer didn't inform me about the visa requirements to cross from Dusslouf to Vinna airport. This caused a big problem for me in the airport, where I: 1- Wasn't allowed to catch my flight ti Vinnea and this was both financial and time lost for me. 2- I was locked in Dussluff airport for more than 14 hours, I was threatened to be sent back to USA or any other country. This caused physiological damage for me, as I been treated like an animal 3- I was asked to pay for my new ticket ( Dussloff - Istanbul-Amman )"

The wine was acceptable, mid range, with very generous pours in Riedel glassware and always the offer made of would I like anything more? The seperate coffee menu has to be experienced to be believed, basically, it's an authentic Vienna see cafe experience at 30,000 ft."
Cons: "Entertainment selection was fiddly and the offerings meagre compared to the vast libraries found on other carriers, but it was sufficient. More a quibble than a gripe from me. The noise cancelling headsets were good quality noise cancelling, and comfortable. I can't wear some other airlines headsets at all and use my ear pods with an airline adapter jack."
Cons: "The website is a horror, particularly from an iPad. Trying to web checkin was an arduous battle. Obviously the consumer is the least important factor in the lack of managing the product. I avoid Austrian for that simple reason. Crew polite. Pilot informative."

Should have a pet area inside the security of airports, like Palm Springs does."
