Daily cleaning, installation of cabin HEPA filters on flights from Boston to Aqaba
Jordan has reopened its international airport.
From December 21, Jordan has suspended all direct air passenger flights to and from the UK. Passengers who have been in the UK within the previous 14 days, including passengers who have passed through the UK in transit, are not permitted to enter Jordan.
All arriving travelers aged 5 or older must have a medical certificate with a negative Coronavirus (COVID-19) PCR test result issued a maximum of 5 days before arrival. Those without a medical certificate will be subject to medical screening. Travelers will also be re-tested on arrival, and will need to pre-pay the cost of 40JD (approximately $56) online in advance of their flight. Foreign/non-resident travelers must also have a full medical insurance coverage for the duration of their stay. All travelers must complete an electronic application form 24 hours before departure at Gateway 2 Jordan website. They will receive a confirmation code via email. They will also need to install the "Aman" app for contact tracing while in Jordan.
Travelers who have been in, or transited through, a green classified country or region must have a PCR test taken within 5 days prior to departure, and bring the results of the test with them to Jordan. Travelers will take a second PCR test in Jordanian airports and will wait in designated areas at the airport until test results are available. If the test result is negative and the traveler has not been in contact with an individual who has tested positive inside the aircraft, the traveler will be directed to passport control and will be free to enter the country. In case of a positive result; travelers will be treated according to health protocols outlined by the Ministry of Health and will be transported to one of the approved hospitals for treatment. If the individual is non-Jordanian, they will bear their treatment expenses; however, all passengers are required to carry private international health insurance policies.
Arriving passengers who have been in contact with a positive case inside the aircraft, and who are classified as “people in contact” can either return on board the same aircraft, if possible, or quarantine themselves at their accommodation for 7 days. Another PCR test will be taken on the 6th day of their arrival; if the test result is negative, the quarantine ends after 7 days.
Travelers who have been in, or transited through, a yellow and red classified country or region must have a PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to departure and bring the results of the test with them to Jordan. Travelers with a valid negative COVID-19 PCR test result will be subject to a 7-day home quarantine and a negative COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival at the airport in Jordan. However, non-Jordanian nationals who both test positive on arrival at the airport and have valid health insurance will be sent to a quarantine facility at the Dead Sea or a private hospital. In the case that an individual’s insurance does not cover the complete costs of hospital care for the duration of the illness, the Government of Jordan will return the individual to his or her origin country.
Travelers from all countries must commit to adhere to home quarantine for a period of 7 days and do the COVID-19 PCR test on the 7th day of home quarantine, at their own expense. During this application the traveler will sign an indemnity, and failure to comply with the quarantine requirements could result in legal prosecution under the defense order number 16.
Airline crew are subject to quarantine until their next flight.
International transfer passengers are allowed at Jordanian Airports and require:
•negative PCR test within 72 hours before arrival; •transfer time does not exceed 6 hours
Arrivals from Turkey, Egypt and Iraq need to have a PCR test from accredited Labs only. A List of accredited Labs can be found on the Gateway 2 Jordan website.
There are currently 9,783 active cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in JO and 4,198 deaths as of Jan 22 2021

This must have caused major problems for passengers with f;light connections and for the many who had to get up and go to work the next day."

Pros: "The staff were nice and friendly and the plane was clean."
Cons: "There were weird issues. Although the plane was fairly new all three toilet seat lids would not stay upright meaning you had to hold them, which was creepy! There were no paper towels in the bathroom--only tissues. The food was poor and portions small even by airline standards. About 25 of us waited one hour for our bags to arrive."
Pros: "The kosher meals could use a serious upgrade and the employees on board could be a bit more accommodated when it comes to food and drinks."
Pros: "New state of the art Dream line plane very comfortable and easy to sleep even in economy section"
Cons: "Food could be better"
Pros: "There was a lot more leg room than I'm used to, and the staff were very pleasant and helpful."

Cons: "The seats became uncomfortable after some hours, had to sit on my pillow."

Pros: "Crew members were very nice to an old lady and i saw how well they took care of her"
Cons: "The agency to which kyak has directed me to purchase the tickets. They have lots of restrictions that could have turned my trip bad. I was very septic when i read their conditions for flight changes and process of registering credit catds. I don't recommend that kayak maintains this agent . Actually i have never purchased a ticket throgh them. That was the fist and last time"
Pros: "Attentive crew, good entertainment choices, free headphones"
Cons: "We arrived with another Royal Jordan flight and went through transit but still had to go through the same security like all the other travelers which led to a total of five security checks for the two flights. Several procedures were done multiple times (swiping computers/cameras/children's toys.) Security personnel didn't explain differences in protocol to other flights/check-in procedures which led to high frustration, e.g., families were separated for individual screenings/pat downs without asking where our small child should go. There were no bathrooms or concessions in the last section where people were waiting right before boarding the flight."
Pros: "Very friendly crew."
Cons: "Very early boarding and push back."
Cons: "Lack of curtousey of some crew members!"
Cons: "And to make it better. Allianz insurance didn't give me my refund."
Pros: "Everything was perfect! Food was great!"
Pros: "Quick and easy boarding process, nice person at check-in counter"
Cons: "I used the restroom in the plane before takeoff and the it was absolutely filthy. It was clear it did not receive any attention between flights. I was sitting in the emergency exit row and, during takeoff, the plane made a horrible, howling/whining noise that I've never heard before. Everyone was looking around and fearful. I fly often and this was the kind of noise when you wonder "is this where it all ends?" Not sure if it was the engine just outside or the emergency exit not being fully sealed but it was the first time in a long time that I've been fearful on a plane."
Cons: "I was with my two children and asked the checking tickets employee to put us together because my children need me they are three and four years old but she didn't do so we got problems with other passenger but thanks for the crew they were been great and solved the problem"
