Many people on the flight from NY to Brussels were scheduled on this flight and that plane landed in time that this flight would only need to be delayed 10 minutes to allow for us to connect. However, they decided to leave all of us with a long unexpected layover in Brussels, costing many of us a day of what was supposed to be a short vacation for most."

After 10 min arguments he said ok put it on the floor ! I could of put 2 of my foldable bag on the top storage if I had 2.... it was a connecting from same airline a much smaller plane which accepeted the bag . Very unpleasant ! The tea they served was the dregs from the bottom of the kettle, nasty and bitter. There was no "entertainment," except a crew member renting out a couple of ipads that connected to the wifi. The luggage compartments are oddly shaped so that you can only put your luggage in the long way. It a misuse of space. A lot of people had a hard time finding any place to put their bags. During takeoff, one of the luggage compartments opened up twice."

Cons: "When I arrived to my seat, the overhead compartment was full. I had no room for my carry-on. I mentioned it to the flight attendant. He just shrugged and told me to put my carry-on under the seat in front of me. So, #1, I guess some people bring more carry-on and the staff lets them. And #2, I guess it wasn't tight enough in those seats and even though I'm over 6 ft, the staff had to make it tighter. Also, when it was time to land, I thought my seat was all the way up. It was not fully all the way up. I was half asleep, and all of sudden, instead of telling me, one of the flight attendant pushed on the button to raise my seat. I would've appreciated him telling me. The landing was delayed, but that's no ones fault at rouge. I am trying to be as objective as I can. Hopefully, when (and if) someone at Air Canada-Rouge reads this, he or she has enough "pull" at the company to ask the proper authorities:"what kind of company are we? Are we a bargain basement flight company that offers just basic flights for extremely low prices? Or are we an average flight company that offer great value for the money the customer pays?" Because, from my perspective as a customer who is at his second experience with Air Canada-Rouge, the feeling that I get from flying with you guys, is that your company offers basic flights that doesn't offer great value for the money. It's more a company that "plays on both fields", taking what suits them, and leaving what doesn't , regardless of their customer. I understand that a company has to make money. It's normal. But, at a certain point, don't you have to think about your customers? To be honest, the only reason I flew with Air Canada-Rouge is that I was stuck with no other choices but to fly with you (schedule, cost, etc.) And I know for a fact that I'm not the only one. The feeling that I get, is that your company counts on customer like me. Customers that are "stuck", with no other alternatives. If your company wants to offer many "cheap direct flights" like Ryanair and Easyjet offer in Europe, I have 2 suggestions: #1: lower your prices. #2 :your staff should be more customer friendly savvy. Because those 2 companies, that's what they offer. Always remember: you can put a lot of maple syrup on a pile of sh***t, it still won't taste like pancakes. Thank you."

Air Canada tries to charge you for every little thing and I guess that I am one of those people that does not appreciate being nickled and dimed. Then the guy in front of me reclined and I had absolutely no room. I had to turn to the side. We didn't board until around the time we were supposed to depart. We were over a hour behind schedule. They held the plane to get a passenger's bag off because he was stuck in customs. Unless it's a funeral I need to get to, I'm not flying Air Canada again."

Last, after I ate the food served on board, I went to the bathroom twice, I took I modicum before!!!!"

At Dulles Airport, I checked in at the Brussels Airline counter, only to be told that since I was on a flight operated by United, then I had to go to the United Airlines counter to check in. At UA, I was handed a boarding pass which advised that my seat will be assigned at the gate. I saw on the monitor where the available seats were-1 window, the remainder middle row. I got the feeling that since I bought a ticket which cost less than what the other United Airlines customers paid for, then I was being relegated to seats that the other travelers didn't desire."

When I got to Liege, I was boarding a bus to Brussels when someone told me the airport was closed. I then got my flights rebooked on Lufthansa. Why was I never notified that the United flight was cancelled? I haven't checked on it yet, as I just got home after flying 3 flights from Liege instead of 1 flight from Brussels. I understand the situation is bad, but why NO NOTIFICATION?"

Cons: "There were not one but two dogs on the flight which I had an allergic reaction to. Thank goodness I travel with extra allergy medication in my purse. The owner of the dog in front of me keep insisting the dog was hypoallergenic. What matters is my reaction or the person who is allergic reaction to the dog's dander even if they claim it's a hypoallergenic dog. Once I had a severe reaction on a United flight and the cat was no where near me, but the air is circulating so I has to take benadryl. There should be some consideration for people who have health concerns without making the customer feel like we are a problem."

Cons: "I was very upset that the gate agent stated that the overhead bins were full and that I would need to check my carry on bag, which i did. However upon boarding the plane, there were multiple overhead bins that were actually empty. I do not appreciate being lied to by the gate agent and being forced to check my bag when there was plenty of overhead bin space available. Moreover, I waited for nearly 30 minutes for my then checked bag to come through the baggage carousel after deplaning. This is far too long to have to wait for a bag after a 5.5 hour flight, especially when it was a carry on bag I was forced to check despite there being ample room in the overhead bins. Very disappointing and unnecessary aggrevation. Additionally, there was some slight turbulence during the flight for which the captain turned on the seat belt sign and everyone was requested to return to their seats. A few minutes later there were still some people standing in the aisles waiting to use the restroom, at which point a female flight attendant came on the intercom and stated, "I will try to make this as simple as possible for you to understand..." She then carried on explaining in a very rude and sarcastic tone the safety reasoning behind asking the standing passengers to return to their seats. While her frustration with people not returning to their seats was understandable, her tone of voice and sarcastic demeanor was not professional, and quite unappreciated. My overall experience with United could have been much more pleasant but for these instances. I feel these couple of bad experiences could have been easily prevented which would have led to a much more enjoyable experience with United. Unfortunately, because of these things, I will think twice about flying with United in the future."

Cons: "I don't like being in Boarding Group 4 all the time. I don't fly United as often as I used to, but still it seems I should be able to get group 2 or 3 occasionally. I often have to travel with my suitcase carry on and it's difficult to insure I will get on at a decent time to get a space. My husband who rarely flies, but has a United credit card, gets Boarding Group 2 every time. This is frustrating to those who travel United still but can't seem to get a break on the boarding. It discourages us from flying United because of this approach. Charging for bags and boarding in the manner they do does not promote efficiency in the boarding process and only frustrates customers and discourages people from flying United. Changing their priorities would help both efficiency and make them a friendlier airline."

Cons: "The Denver based flight crew on this flight was a rude. They threatened to kick off someone with a dog on the flight and had a bad attitude overall. The flight attendants were very "short" with the passengers. It seems that the customer service side of the full fare airlines is decreasing. Also, my television on the seat back did not work, so I had to sit there in silence for the 4 hour flight."
Cons: "My original flight were CMH to ORD, ORD to FLL. First of all, it took 25.5 hours to get CMH to FL. Could not even landed at FLL, they send me at Tampa and I have to drive to Miami and took 5 hours after frying and waiting for 20.5hours. Finally, got in to Tampa, of course UNITED lost my laggege and they had no idea where it was. UNITED CREWS are not willing to help you. I am so tired to deal with UNITED and I do not recommend to my firends or family or anyone."

Cons: "There was a long-ish and poorly organised layover in Luanda, which involved the flight crew individually identifying the carry-on luggage on the plane so as to ensure no one who had disembarked had left anything behind. This was literally done bin by bin by a crew member shouting down the aisle, "Who's is this brown bag? Who has a grey Longchamp!!!???" This is not something I have ever seen before and it took ages. The cabin also became very hot during the layover, which cause a 40 minute delayed arrival in Kinshasa."

Once we finally got off the plane, it took a whole 2 hours for them to get our baggage e off the plane because spmething was wrong and they couldnot access the baggage to take it off. I am aware that planes can “fly with one engine”, but flying a plane with one engine along with it having electrical problems is not safe and A RISK! why take that risk of something bad happening, not only would lives of innocent people and their crew get lost, but that is a million dollar assest that could get lost and a PR nightmare. It is a shame they took that risk. They also dodnt tell us until we landed. Had I known before we took off at Freetown I would have gladly fot off and found another mode of transportation to get to my final destination. SN Brussels is know to send their sh*tty planes to Africa, because there are always problems with the planes heading to that continent. It is just another obvious proof of their racism."

I am used to boarding in zones so things tend to be less congested leading up to the jetway. - This may or may not have been something the airline could have changed but sitting in the plane for 5 hours waiting to de-ice was unacceptable. The entire food service was served in this time so no food was available for the 6 hour flight to Accra. Had we been able to wait in the terminal, passengers could get their own food and the food for the flight could have been saved. Also, they ran out of chicken dishes by the time I was served and I was left with fish only. Had I been a vegetarian, this would have been unacceptable."

We finally took off only to be rerouted to Lome instead of Accra which took an additional 2 hours. The whole thing took an extra 7 hours. From 11am to 12:55 pm we were provided only 1 meal and ice cream. The staff were not apologetic at all, they said if we wanted to be mad at someone it should be the weather... They should probably go back to customer service school."

Still, there is one quite simple thing that is possible to arrange to improve the quality - fresh bread instead of dry and hard one. Comfort - the airplane had 3-seats rows on sides. I prefer 2-seats rows. I haven't noticed that bigger planes mean automatically cheaper flight tickets. Therefore I definitely choose less crowded plane with more comfort. Entertainment - the TV was touch screen. Modern idea but poor realization. The TV user interface was very hard to manipulate because the extra mouse that had to be brought on right button hardly moved."
