As with the outbound flight, this return flight was not full - maybe 40-50%. As they started boarding they announced they located a few people the help with 'load a balance' of the aircraft. What they had done was to compress all passengers in the middle of the plane leaving no space between anyone. It is difficult to understand why everyone is required to wear Masks, then relocated to remove all space between passengers, when there was ample room to allow everyone to be seated with space between.

I landed after my connecting flight was already boarded, causing an employee from the airline to announce my name over the intercom on the plane and tell the passengers to "clear a lane for me." I ran with my suitcase over my head, bumping into people and making it to my next gate...where I was told there was ABSOLUTELY NO ROOM for my carry on...which was also, very tiny. I specifically did not want to check my bag because I needed to immediately hop off the plane to make it to work on time. Another customer was VERY upset about having to check his bag and was pulled aside. I finally was told I needed to check my bag at the gate to get on. So i did. As I entered the plane, about half of it was COMPLETELY empty with PLENTY of room. I was floored. About 10 minutes later, the very angry man happily entered with his carry on and stored it easily in the overhead bin. My frustration was at a peak. But I said nothing. When I arrived to Newark, I rushed to baggage claim and guess what? After 30 minutes of waiting, my bag never showed up. I had to check in with information and finally found it. But this caused to me to be late for work. I have usually had a great experience with United. But this experience has changed my mind completely and am very upset."

He asked another worker to help him and all the way up the ramp I had to listen to comments about "good thing they had eaten their Wheaties" and "they were getting a good workout." I know that I am not a small person, but these ongoing comments were rude and insulting. When we got into the gate the attendant told me that he didn't have my name on his list and had to call for permission to take me through the airport. I waited and he came back and said he couldn't take me, but if I could wait someone else could come for me. I had waited enough already and suffered their rude comments, so I said no thanks and walked slowly through the airport. This experience has left me with a bad feeling for the airline and its personnel. I believe their staff could use sensitivity training at the very least!"

Cons: "When we flew in from Montego Bay to Fort Lauderdale and we had to go through customs; no flight member told us that we had to get our bags from baggage to take through customs with us and then if you had a connecting flight, that you would need to re-check your baggage and go through TSA again. Also, we were not informed that if we had duty-free liquids to put them in your baggage that you would have to re-check. Needless to say, I had to find a box to put my duty-free liquids in to have checked at the ticket counter before I was able to go through TSA. It was a terrible flying experience and I will not be flying with Spirit airlines again."

On top of that, there were no in flight snacks and the food was overpriced. Also, the baggage fee is insanely high."

Pros: "The crew was very nice."
Cons: "The boarding process was very difficult. Our flight was delayed due to weather but there was no communication between the spirit agents and the passengers. It was very frustrating."

Cons: "The flight home was a disaster. The crew timed out and we didn't get off the ground until 4 hours later. Horrible, no advice from the crew we were boarded and they just got up and left no one knew what was going on. A Spirit rep advised us we would have to de-plane and they had to get another crew in. Not a good way to make and keep customers. It was my first time with Spirit and probably my last. If you don't know what your crew is doing how do you run an airline."

Cons: "You can't check in to the flight without registering (for what?). Fee policies were unclear until after ticket was purchased "Ultra low fares" are not lower than other airlines so all the hard sell tactics are not actually justified. They just make you look like scam artists. Baggage fees are mind bogglingly confusing and present you with choices for which you may or may not be eligible. Crew constantly reminds us of the crappy service as if they are proud of it (as in "please clean up the plane for us so we can keep your fares low"). Web site does not tell you what will happen if you don't choose a seat."
