Barbados has reopened its borders.
All travelers must present a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 PCR test result from an accredited or recognized laboratory issued within 72 hours prior to arrival. Please take special note that the date of the test and not the date of the result is what will be assessed against the 3 day time frame. Children under the age of 5 are exempt from COVID-19 testing requirements unless they are symptomatic or any member of the travel party has a positive test result.
Travelers must download and install the BIMSafe app and complete the online Immigration/Customs form at least 24 hours prior to travel. Travelers in transit or are unable to download BIMSafe can go to https://www.travelform.gov.bb/home to fill out online Immigration/Customs form and upload their PCR test results.
Specific travelers who have non-standard circumstances that need to be addressed are advised to contact The Ministry of Health and Wellness via firstname.lastname@example.org at least 72 hours prior before travel to have their requests investigated and facilitated. These include: diplomats; persons with a medical condition warranting special consideration (to be certified by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO)); persons with a disability or traveling with persons with disabilities.
On arrival, travelers may be required to take a rapid COVID-19 antigen test at the airport before entering quarantine.
All travelers are subject to a mandatory quarantine in their rooms/suites until they have been cleared by the Ministry of Health and Wellness. They will have to take a second COVID-19 PCR test 5 days after the time of their arrival. A negative PCR test result will be required to end the quarantine period.
Travelers will undergo monitoring that includes daily self-temperature checks and sharing that information via call or text or via the BIMSafe app. Travelers must travel with their own thermometer. Monitoring is generally for 7 days after arrival.
Travelers may only transit in Barbados if they have a negative COVID-19 test prior to arriving. They may be required to undergo a rapid COVID-19 antigen test prior to their departure.
Masks must be worn at all time in the airport, and travelers will be subject to a health assessment and temperature check.

The American Airlines employees were not helpful at all! The agent, Rowna, lied to us that we would be sitting together. They will not reimburse me for paying extra for seats that I did not get. The porter that pushed my mother in the wheelchair was more helpful than any employee."

Also don’t charge $10 for a stale sandwich."

I had to book another flight because the change fees were too expensive. I did not know that my return flight to Denver had been canceled until I was checking in a few hours before my flight. It really stings that I then had to book a new return flight, and because I am a teacher who makes about $23,000 a year, I had to book the cheapest flight, which was with American. I do not plan on giving them any of my hard-earned money in the future if I can help it."

By the time the cart reached my row, all the food options were literally sold out. I ate the free cookie and had some apple juice, but wanted something with some protein. Cons: "From the get go it was an awful experience ... I travel with an emotional support animal as does my husband because we don't do well with flying. I have anxiety to the max about it & my husband gets ulcerative colitis flare ups any time he's stressed out which is usually while we fly and having our dogs with us turkey makes us feel better. When I called to tell them over the phone we would have our emotional support animal I got an attitude as if I hadn't been doing this for the last 4 years. She reiterated to me that we needed in addition to the letterhead from the doctor a form filled out (which we both did ) . Brought to the airport and sit had to sit at the counter like the girl didn't know what she was doing. Fast forward to finally getting to the gate after being stressed and our flight was delayed. This now only made our 50 min layover in DC 20 min by the time we landed. We ran from one gate to the next hoping we wouldn't miss our flight and when we got there they wouldn't let us on the plane saying things like "your dogs are not on this flight" "there is no documentation" "well then you must not have the right paperwork" ... in front of a bunch of people in line, out of breath, and now embarrassed I am forced to take out my folder and give them all the paperwork I had just given to the customer service desk before our first flight. They let everyone on the plane and still made us stand there and finally said "just go but your dogs aren't on this flight". Fast forward AGAIN to sitting on the flight the flight attendant comes over and says "guys where's you carrier the dogs need to be under the seats" .. we peoceeded again to explain for the seventh time that they were emotional support animals ... she then proceeded "no they are not they are not even listed on this flight" at this point I'm EXTREMLY embarrassed because people on the plane are paying attention and drawing attention to us but not only that ... I have been doing this for years .. I ALWAYS have the proper documentation as does my husband and we have never ran into this kind of disappointment and embarrassment from any airline until now. I was so stressed out to begin with and this deffinately didn't help ... nor did it make us wants to fly on American again. I felt pushed aside, embarrassed, and belittled by multiples employees ... all because the first employee clearly made a mistake and didn't document things correctly ... that should have never been put on us ."
