Good evening, I’m not sure under which category our complaints should fall on your website so I will include them here. To summarize our complaint, we booked our tickets on Icelandair through Kayak (and Webjet) and upon arriving at the check-in counter on December 2, we were informed that the baggage fee for our flight would be $95 each! Understandably, we were shocked and very displeased. Nowhere in our confirmation emails or flight details was there anything about having to pay such a high rate for our luggage. The first employee we spoke to said that your airline has recently started charging such fees to compete with WOW Air and as I said to him, I would like to point out again that this is the very reason why I never choose to fly with WOW Air: they clearly state that there is a high baggage fee from the beginning of the registration process and I know of too many other airlines who don’t have such inflated fees. This ticketing agent and the manager said that the level of our ticket (apparently called Economy Light) indicated that we would be charged this baggage rate. It is now my understanding that on the Icelandair’s website, these levels are described but no such options were listed or explained on the Kayak website or any of our confirmation materials/emails. It is the responsibility of your site to post these important details in a conspicuous place so that travelers can make informed decisions. We could’ve flown with Air Portugal for a mere $50 more and saved not only over $200 each but also the inconvenience and frustration. Upon the check-in manager’s suggestion, I looked up our flight by the booking reservation number (LCWNEG) and again, the only “flight type” shown was called Economy, nothing more. The same is true for when we checked in online and reserved our seats - there was never an indication of the fees that were awaiting us. All this to say, we were incredibly upset to be surprised with an additional cost of $200/person (round trip ticket) but then, to add insult to injury, not only did we nearly miss our flight due to the length of time spent at the check-in desk, once we got on the plane and we realized we would not be served anything other than water or soda - since all food/meals must also be paid for in most Economy levels. This was our first experience with your airline/website and I highly doubt we will ever choose you in the future. I know now for a fact that other passengers who have booked through 3rd party sites have found themselves in similar bad situations. If you choose to work with airlines and offer lower rates, it is only honest and fair to make your policies clearly known to your potential customers. We felt mislead and deceived as these rates seemed hidden until it as too late. entertainment was not working! the flight to Frankfurt was late and I missed the connection to rome! crew told me to run for the connection but ad the gate they told me they had already put me on a later flight! no need to run like crazy across the airport if they had me already booked me on a later flight! missed my train connection in rome to bari...asked the airport lufthansa rep. to put me on a flight to bari but they told me they couldn't do it although there was a flight available!

Given the choice I would hands down pick Finnair over a US based carrier the Europeans provide bigger seats and better service... Little things like hot towels, extra wine and chocolate after meals was truly appreciated...

Im an amateur traveler and I could have used a little more info at the gate and about getting to my connection I had no idea where it was and that you had to go through a passport line to catch the connection. Came close to missing my connection...

I flew in economy. 9+ hours from ORD to HEL. The seat was average size. We were provided with a pillow, blanket and headphones. I did not use the in-flight entertainment, which was on an LCD screen. It was warm, so i didn't use the blanket. I also brought a neck-pillow, which is vital on overnight flights. They served a full dinner shortly after takeoff: I had meat lasagna which wasn't that bad, along with corn, a roll w/ butter, two saltine crackers with decent cheese and a chocolate pudding. Upon waking, I ate the breakfast, which was scrambled eggs and two sausages and a roasted tomato, a roll with butter, fruit cup and orange juice, coffee on the side. All pretty good, it was nice to have a meal before deplaning in Helsinki and waiting to get through passport control. Attendants on this flight were quite friendly. Check-in was run very efficiently. No problems with luggage. All in all, a real bargain price, and I got more than I bargained for.

As for the downside, I had no significant disappointments on the long leg of my flight on Finnair. I hope my return flights will be just as good.

Disability access at Gatwick was excellent. Quick, polite and efficient service from arriving at the airport to boarding the flight Can’t comment on food as did not have any.

The flight was almost full with only a few empty seats at the back of the plane. I was on crutches with a broken ankle and had asked politely if I could be sat next to an empty seat so I could elevate my foot (doctors orders) and because my boot would not fit under the chair in front. The crew made no effort to seat or switch me to a seat at the back next to one of the few empty seats. It was a very uncomfortable flight and I had to keep my foot in the aisle and stay awake to avoid being run into by the food or drinks cart. Poor selection of movies. Mainly older movies. While I actually appreciate the cheaper flight and being able to avoid paying for the food I think that they should offer water. There is only so much you can carry into the flight and having to buy water is ridiculous.

1. Flight attendants except for a couple, were not interested in helping passengers or answering questions 2. For the basic fare (which I didn’t realise I was even purchasing), you had to pay extra for a seat and for luggage, on long haul transatlantic! 3. I wasn’t offered food or beverage once on the 8 hour trip 4. You had to purchase a blanket if you wanted one. Everyone was wearing their coats onboard. It almost felt like they were intentionally keeping the temperature cold to induce passengers to purchase blankets. When I requested they raise the temperature, I was told that this was the warmest they could make it and this is the warmest on any plane. (Obviously not true. I fly every month and have mostly found plane temperatures to be manageable.) Oh, and did I mention how you had to pay to check luggage on a transatlantic flight!!

No terminal was used. Upon arrival in Seattle they brought a bus to take passengers from the tarmac into the building. It took them almost 30 min to deliver bags upon arrival in Seattle.

I'm 6 ft 2. Legspace was adequate, and no silly boxes under the seats like other airlines that obstruct your feet. Great entertainment systems - modern, good selection. Food and staff excellent.

Their online checkin systems could operate a bit more smoothly. At one point, I had to go in in person, because the online checkin site had an already past flight from their codeshare partner SAS showing up as the next flight, and I couldn't perform online checkin as a result.

On board entertainment ststem has lots of options to choose from on all accounts. Food selection was good, served hot with large selection of drinks. Overall much better than US airlines that cross Atlantic.

More comfortable seats for long haul flights is a must have. Comfort+ Offered a money’s worth alternative to business or first class. Boarding is done away from terminal building which required busess for transportation back and forth. Prefer skybridge instead.

entertainment was not working! the flight to Frankfurt was late and I missed the connection to rome! crew told me to run for the connection but ad the gate they told me they had already put me on a later flight! no need to run like crazy across the airport if they had me already booked me on a later flight! missed my train connection in rome to bari...asked the airport lufthansa rep. to put me on a flight to bari but they told me they couldn't do it although there was a flight available!

The crew was friendly. We were delayed, but I think that's because we were waiting on travelers with delayed connecting flights.

The food was very heavy, heavier than airplane food usually is. The touchscreen TVs were not very responsive.

Crew members were courteous

Good evening, I’m not sure under which category our complaints should fall on your website so I will include them here. To summarize our complaint, we booked our tickets on Icelandair through Kayak (and Webjet) and upon arriving at the check-in counter on December 2, we were informed that the baggage fee for our flight would be $95 each! Understandably, we were shocked and very displeased. Nowhere in our confirmation emails or flight details was there anything about having to pay such a high rate for our luggage. The first employee we spoke to said that your airline has recently started charging such fees to compete with WOW Air and as I said to him, I would like to point out again that this is the very reason why I never choose to fly with WOW Air: they clearly state that there is a high baggage fee from the beginning of the registration process and I know of too many other airlines who don’t have such inflated fees. This ticketing agent and the manager said that the level of our ticket (apparently called Economy Light) indicated that we would be charged this baggage rate. It is now my understanding that on the Icelandair’s website, these levels are described but no such options were listed or explained on the Kayak website or any of our confirmation materials/emails. It is the responsibility of your site to post these important details in a conspicuous place so that travelers can make informed decisions. We could’ve flown with Air Portugal for a mere $50 more and saved not only over $200 each but also the inconvenience and frustration. Upon the check-in manager’s suggestion, I looked up our flight by the booking reservation number (LCWNEG) and again, the only “flight type” shown was called Economy, nothing more. The same is true for when we checked in online and reserved our seats - there was never an indication of the fees that were awaiting us. All this to say, we were incredibly upset to be surprised with an additional cost of $200/person (round trip ticket) but then, to add insult to injury, not only did we nearly miss our flight due to the length of time spent at the check-in desk, once we got on the plane and we realized we would not be served anything other than water or soda - since all food/meals must also be paid for in most Economy levels. This was our first experience with your airline/website and I highly doubt we will ever choose you in the future. I know now for a fact that other passengers who have booked through 3rd party sites have found themselves in similar bad situations. If you choose to work with airlines and offer lower rates, it is only honest and fair to make your policies clearly known to your potential customers. We felt mislead and deceived as these rates seemed hidden until it as too late. Disability access at Gatwick was excellent. Quick, polite and efficient service from arriving at the airport to boarding the flight Can’t comment on food as did not have any.

The flight was almost full with only a few empty seats at the back of the plane. I was on crutches with a broken ankle and had asked politely if I could be sat next to an empty seat so I could elevate my foot (doctors orders) and because my boot would not fit under the chair in front. The crew made no effort to seat or switch me to a seat at the back next to one of the few empty seats. It was a very uncomfortable flight and I had to keep my foot in the aisle and stay awake to avoid being run into by the food or drinks cart. Poor selection of movies. Mainly older movies. While I actually appreciate the cheaper flight and being able to avoid paying for the food I think that they should offer water. There is only so much you can carry into the flight and having to buy water is ridiculous.

Nice, clean plane.

1. Flight attendants except for a couple, were not interested in helping passengers or answering questions 2. For the basic fare (which I didn’t realise I was even purchasing), you had to pay extra for a seat and for luggage, on long haul transatlantic! 3. I wasn’t offered food or beverage once on the 8 hour trip 4. You had to purchase a blanket if you wanted one. Everyone was wearing their coats onboard. It almost felt like they were intentionally keeping the temperature cold to induce passengers to purchase blankets. When I requested they raise the temperature, I was told that this was the warmest they could make it and this is the warmest on any plane. (Obviously not true. I fly every month and have mostly found plane temperatures to be manageable.) Oh, and did I mention how you had to pay to check luggage on a transatlantic flight!!

The plane is new, clean, and has a good entertainment system.

The airline failed to inform that upon check in they would weigh carry on's and if they were over 10kg you would have to check a bag for $65. 3 stations and over an hour later, people were furious. Also, if you didn't book a premium ticket the flight staff didn't want to deal with you. Asking for water incurred a nasty look. I was surprised by the lack of customer service and therefore I don't plan to fly this airline again.
