Everything was great. Staff really helpful with my mum who has mobility issues.
Hainan airline provide direct flight from Boston, US to Beijing, China, which is very convenient. The only issue we had was that my infant bought full ticket, however, when he was transferring from international to national flight (Beijing -> Shanghai), we were informed that the infant didn't even have a ticket. It probably became an issue because he was not allowed to have a seat within China. Hope this issue will not happen again. Otherwise, we like this airline, the services, food, timing are all perfect for a lengthy international trip.
Best domestic flight I’ve been on for a very long time. Way better than any of the Australian carriers for domestic flights!!
My first time flying Hainan Airlines. Boarding process was easy and quick. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was a simple, hot meal which we don’t see much any more on short flights in the US. Only water, coffee or tea to drink but it was only a two hour flight. Overall pleasing experience.
The absolute worst experience I’ve ever had flying. I am a regular flyer and was transferring from Seoul to Beijing to the USA. I was told the companies were partnered so no need to pick up my baggage, I got through eventually after a terribly confusing airport and unhelpful staff, had issues with the check in counter where they didn’t understand my baggage tag from the previous airline and that my bag needed transferring (which as a company partnership they should have communication like this) and then I got through extremely stressful security with multiple stops and the plane was poor quality (same exact quality as my 1.5 hour flight there) for a 16 hour flight with poor food quality, slow trash service, and less than 15 movies total for flight options I was absolutely over it. My only good thing was I was lucky enough to be sitting by myself in a row
Great although I believe they are able to redistuibute the passangers in a more comfortable way if the flight is not full dor such long flights. Unless the seats are paid for, of coruse.
Good flight, on time. The aircraft was old and the seats lost their shapes. Food was just acceptable.
Two hours delayed departure ! Lost one of our luggage! Two days later found the luggage, again waiting for more than two hours to get the lost luggage because locked at other airline office.
Hainan Airlines was amongst the best. It's sad to see her becoming just mediocre. I recommended her as outstanding. I won't recommend her again.

They asked how much cash i have . I said no cash they said bring cash from atm . Why they even care about my cash.
Food and some of crew members' service have room to improve
Not enough seat cushion. Butt was hurting especially on long flight. Not enough movie selection. Entertainment was outdated. Coffee served was cold. Other than that flight was good.
Humm, I should have known that the seat I peaked on my flight from Inchon to Manila was designed for a toddler or very small person.
Felt like the oldest plane in Asiana Fleet. Screen was 5-6in only and no charging at all. Movie selection wasn't great.
It was great, but my bag was not loaded onto the connecting flight. I'm currently getting it resolved. If this isn't a problem, everything else was excellent.
I had a bad experience coming from America to Thailand. On my connecting flight my check in suitcase was not put on the departing aircraft, I received my suitcase 24 hours after arriving in Bangkok and when I open my luggage my hand swelled up. The next morning when I put on an outfit from my suitcase my face swelled up and became numb. My entire vacation was ruined it seems that some kind of chemical was sprayed into suitcase and ruined my clothes and got me sick. The staff at my hotel called the airline and spoke to someone and they told me to file a complaint and gave my a website to do so. I did not file a complaint I felt like it would have fell on death ears. I had to throw away my brand new vacation clothes and suitcase and I had the worst vacation ever due to this happening to me.
The beefsteak on the lunch menu was excellent! I usually do not eat airplane food. I loved it.
We took business class, It was comfortable and I was able to sleep.
One of the flight was delayed. The flight attendant of returning flight to LA was mean.
The seats (legroom) are tight and chairs cushion is stiff (not comfortable). The crew was courteous, professional and friendly. There was no food / snack for this flight (very short flight, but still would be nice to provide some snack for the enjoyment).
Weren’t even given earphones to use the entertainment system
Very friendly and attentive flight attendants, good food service. Seat was comfortable. However, the in flight electronics were poor. The screen froze repeatedly; the controller died; the headphones are a hit or miss; the wifi wasn't usable. Very scarce communication before the flight (no email reminder). Almost impossible to understand in-flight communications (audio was very poor).
The meals were not the greatest and lacking of appetite but everything else was spot on
Overall, excellent: check-in, boarding, service, and food. The Business Class seating is a little less private and spacious than the world's premier airlines, but still very good for a long haul flight.

Your staff was exceptional. Could teach the other airlines-rules on etiquette, and service. Excellent landings on flights, carried out by your pilots. Only complaint is long delay on return flight in Beijing, onto Vancouver.
Worst than I expected, crew was not attentive, meal was as disgusting , they didn’t even drink selections as they would to other passengers. I felt discriminated
I hate that you cannot check in online and when you are at the airport, there aren't any aisle seats left. Also, they could work a little on subtitles for their movies (not everyone is a native English speaker).
Nothing to complain of, the only reason I am not giving better marks is that I am used to flying with ANA and they are the top.
Communication between the captain/crew and the passengers needs to be improved.

We were taking the flight MU 8649 from Shanghai to Osaka and the original boarding gate was 20 and we didn’t receive any notification or broadcast about gate changes, and by the time we missed the original boarding time we check thr electric board and realized the gate was changed to 208 Also the flight was delayed by almost an hour and the crew member didn’t provide any explanation, after we finally boarded the aircraft was very hot, the crew member told me the air conditioning was not working and tried to calm passages down by offering iced water, all of us sat in the aircraft for another 40 mins before it finally took off

did not get a notification about seat selection ahead of time. We didn't end up sitting together.
In my return flight they couldn’t identify my ticket or boarding pass, I had to go to 3 different counters until I was able to get my boarding pass. The food was on, it was the bear minimum. They didn’t even recognise that I was a Muslim and can’t eat meat, chicken or pork. In one of the trays I believe they served me pork. The staff were very pleasant, but they need to be aware of their surroundings more carefully, one of them stuck her lower belly right into my face! I was shocked and very uncomfortable.
Overall I had good experience with China Southern airline. Nothing to claim. I hoped they could improve the meal quality that is.
The connection between LA and Atlanta was too much stress

The airport didn‘t give me the ticket. I called customer service to ask for a refund but they kept giving me a perfunctory response and refused to refund me.
It was great. The staff were so nice and helpful the food was great and they always made sure I was okay. As a foreigner I was worried about the language barrier but it was absolutely no issues. I highly recommend
