At 5 ft, 2 " if I found it difficult, I cannot even imagine how a taller person felt. I wore a coat, sweater, and scart , and warm socks, and I was still freezing the entire trip. It took me 20 minutes to thaw out after arriving. It was quite uncomfortable."

A five to ten minute wait is fine, but a fifteen minute wait, with only three crew members compared to the other airlines? By the time I dropped off my baggage, the other airlines were finished with their customers, and there was still quite a line behind me."

Keeping this from jading my point of view, the airline stood within the standard of what is expected of a good trip. Food was good, and the choice of movies, shows, and games helped the time pass. Cons: "The gate for the connecting flight from NY to Rome wasn't posted at the terminal or available via the Delta aps. The Kayak AP didn't have it either. I found out late that it was practially at a different airport. With less than an hour I had to take a bus to a different terminal, walk through, exit onto the street, cross the street and walk down the block to a different terminal. Then I had to re-enter through security (where the line was wrapped back to the front doors). Had the flight not been delayed for mechanical issues I would have missed it. My flights were purchased through Delta. If Delta uses different airlines they should post gate information on their web sites."

Those families bring kids, screaming kids to a section filled with higher fare paying customers. The FA in my section had such big hips, that she knocked my shoulder EVERYTIME she walked by. Not only that, everytime she did the courtesy reach over to grab empty cups from the middle seat, she hit me with her trash bag. Woulda been fine had I been awake, but I was trying to sleep in between the bouts of screaming from the devil possessed kids."

This changed the terminal I was to go to and the gate in which our Italian non-english speaking driver was to meet us at. This impacted seating selection, as well. Was forced to buy a premium seat when I realized the seating chart did not appear when I purchased the tickets. Also, flight was three hours late upon arrival. I understand safety is paramount and am grateful we eventually were able to find another plane, but it begs to speculate if things would have been smoother on a BA plane."

At this point, all planes crossing the ocean should have individual tvs for a customer to watch. They had this 15 years ago, how do they not have it now."

Cons: "Everything else! We were first sold a British airlines flight, and then we got switched to American Airlines. I don't know if that is actually an okay thing for them to do. When we got onto to plane we were stuck on the runway for over 2 1/2 hours, where the outside temperature was 95 degrees and the AC in the plane didn't work. The delay was all due to a mechanical difficulty with the engine, this did not give us peace of mind when flying over the atlantic. while up in the air my newly wedded wife and I were hoping maybe we could watch a movie to help keep our minds off the creaking of the wings, the pool of sweat from the delay, and the grumpy flight attendants. Seeing as it was a 9 hour international flight, you would have expected some sort of entertainment. Maybe a personal TV.... nope. Maybe a community TV... nope. At least they have to have a radio....... nope. All we got were our two thumbs to twiddle. After a much needed nap. We woke up hoping maybe for a hot breakfast, but to put the cherry on top of some terrible ice cream, we got a mediocre cold breakfast. All in all I will not fly American Airlines again. I would happily and quickly pay double for any other airlines but them. It's such a poor reprisentation of our country."

I can understand for extra legroom or exit row, but for a regular seat, that is ridiculous. Then there was a fee to change priority boarding, so I could ensure I was able to have my carry-on with me, instead of risk having it go underneath."

Cons: "The screen on the back of the seat in front of me did not work well at all so it was difficult to watch movies. (I had to press multiple times to change the screen from one display to another.)"

Cons: "Almost everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. Literally, every plane we were supposed to fly on had something wrong with it. We were delayed for hours, missed a connecting flight, had to take another flight which was delayed even longer, they had to find another plane entirely because something was wrong with THAT one. Once we finally got on the plane, we sat on the runway for an hour because there was some kind of TSA-related issue (awesome) and then the airport wouldn't let any planes take off inexplicably. We got to our destination 12 hours later than we were supposed to. But to make up for it, American gave us $10 food vouchers to use in the airport in the middle of the night..."

Cons: "I paid $150 extra for 2 exit row seats thinking we could use the extra room on the long flight. Unfortunately, the exit row space was cut off by and smaller than a normal row! Our legs were extremely cramped by the time we got to Rome. We had no overhead storage, which was already small, so we had to put our carry-ons multiple rows behind us -- which made exiting the plane a pain. There wasn't any personal entertainment systems, just one tv per section. The food was sub par. The crew was nice enough, but I'll NEVER take American Airlines internationally again."

Cons: "Apparently you can make a reservation for a seat and AA is not required to honor it. They told us that you reserve a seat but you get your seat assignment when you check in to your flight. Apparently many people can make a reservation for one seat and the first person to check in gets it. My husband and I were very upset when we found this out. Especially since we went through many hoops to get a good seat assignment."
Cons: "Flight turned around after 2 hours, we were delayed 7.5 hours and missed an entire day in Rome. Instead of landing at 8 AM, we landed closer to 4 PM."

New seats assigned, but then when 3rd plane was brought in, it had the exact configuration of the first and we were told we should use the original boarding passes. These turned out to be wrong because they reseated after the first plane went down and it’s replacement wasn’t the same configuration. We never saw that plane, or the gate it was assigned to. When we went to rebound, my wife I am were separated. We were moved to the way back (screaming baby sandwich - one in front and one behind us). Then we spent an hour in the worst turbulence I’ve seen in 20 years - I nearly vomited. the last 6 hours of this 15 hour ordeal were fine."

Cons: "UA plane stayed a long time on O'Hare tarmac waiting for takeoff to LA. Then parking at gate in LA took a long time. The result was I missed my UA connection to SFO. UA put me in the next LA-SFO flight."
Cons: "3 delays, but United refused to cancel the flight which would allow the passengers to rebook. Pilots were dismissed and we were given vouchers to the worst motel that I have EVER stayed in. Since I had to be in Washington the next morning, I purchased a $600 ticket online after the gate agent told all of the passengers that United could not get them to D.C. until the next evening. To top it off, they used the same plane with mechanical problems the next morning, which caused further delays. Terrible and costly."
Cons: "Cramped. Freezing on flight"
Pros: "The cabin crew themselves were great. The pilots offered my child to go see the cabin and everyone on the actual plane was great."
Cons: "The United employees at check in kiosk were very unorganized and unhelpful. I was traveling internationally with a small child and had two pieces of luggage to check in. Normally you just go to the counter once and they do everything including taking your luggage once they weigh it. Instead, I had to go to the self check in kiosk, then back to the counter to weigh my luggage, take off the one luggage from the scale, weigh the second one, then go back to the self check in kiosk, then was told to take off the second luggage as well, then finally went to a second counter where the lady handwritten my luggage tags and then was told to take both pieces of luggage and put them somewhere else altogether with specific directions on where to put them. This is something normally handled by the actual employees. Also, the check in dude yelled at my kid for putting in his name into the check in kiosk while we were waiting on the check in dude to do all those unorganized activities. He claimed it would break the software if my kid were to enter his name. I have told him that no, the software will not break if my child enters in his name."
Cons: "The movies kept doing out. They told us to log in and get compensated in a few days"

Cons: "Tried to book legroom online and by phone but told it was all sold out; only to arrive and find out it wasn't and had to pay $40 more."
Cons: "Seat was inoperable and frozen in upright position in business class cabin. Last to order entree had only 2 of 7 choices remaining and fish was extremely unappetizing presentation."
Pros: "Food was very good, almost restaurant-level. Wine selection was good as well"
Cons: "While on the plane at the gate, had to wait 20 mins for someone to hang my jacket (had to ask and the person came back 5 mins later) despite the fact that the attendant immediately checked on the guy next to me when he sat down, who apparently had status with United (attendant ignored me). I guess a $7,000 fare doesn't warrant special attention. I had to ask the same attendant for other items at times, but he'd forget and I'd have to ask someone else. Also, the seats were decent yet a bit crowded IMHO. I'm 5'10" and my feet were crammed up against the front of the space when fully reclined. The width of the seat area was a bit tight as well. Finally, they have 2 heads (toilets) that serve both the business class section ( maybe 50 people) as well as the front of economy. One of the pilots was waiting at the same time as me and agreed that it was a pretty questionable layout for the number of seats covered. All in all, not my favorite airline and nothing on this trip so far changed that view."

Cons: "i had to pay $25.00 for my one bag on my flight home but didn't have to pay from indy to washington"
Pros: "The Flight Attendant who was in the back of the place was awesome and very caring."
Cons: "Someone was sitting in my seats and instead of making him move they made us move and tried splitting up my wife and 6 month old child about 4 rows apart. The air started blowing very hot air about halfway through the flight. Everyone was sweating and it was better to just turn the air off completely then keep it on. They tried taking care of it which helped for 5 minutes and then it started blowing hot again. Also the WiFi would kick you off after about 30 seconds and then make you go through a login that takes like 60 seconds. Needless to say... this was the first time I haven't flown Southwest in years... and with the kind of experience it's no wonder why it won't happen again any time soon."

Cons: "Flight was delayed with little communication or reassurance. When I had to rebook my connection, the counter was woefully understaffed and they were not equipped with new enough computers to quickly address my problem."
Pros: "More luggage storage (overhead and under the seats) on this international flight than on domestic. Most everything else was as expected."
Cons: "The toilets smelled and were messy a few hours into it. (I was on a Korean Airlines flight recently and their toilets were always clean and nice!). The crew were mostly efficient and worked well together BUT only one (out of the 4 or 5 in our section) smiled at passengers and looked like she was actually enjoying her job. One blanket wasn't cleaned well enough."
Pros: "The crew was fantastic ! My daughter was anxious during some unexpected turbulence and she was very supportive . Movies and entertainment were good . Food , acceptable."
Cons: "The space allotted per person is ridiculous. And I upgraded to extra leg room ... What extra legroom ??"
Pros: "Crew was courteous and professional. Kept us informed as to why we were delayed."
Cons: "The 6 hr maintenance delay. Food could have been better."
Cons: "Just awful. Original flight was cancelled, delaying my travel schedule. Airlines did a horrible job giving us timely updates on flight status, thus hindering us in trying to find alternate flights or travel options. Upon arrival in Rome almost 24 hours later, almost half of the flight's passengers had bags that didn't even mare it onto the plane. I was among them. What carelessness, and stupidity on the part of united employees. Horrible inconvenience, worst travelling experience that I've ever had!"
Cons: "seats were very uncomfortable"
Cons: "I purchased a direct flight and was not told the flight was cancelled until I arrived. I was put on two transfers and arrived to my destination 10 hours later than planned. I want my money back."
Pros: "Movie selection and delivery/access was very good"
Cons: "Seat legroom is insufficient. There was a water leak in the ceiling that dripped cold Wster on me for a portion of the trip."
