We actually got back to SC pretty much on time but the confusion is aggravating and stressful when you're ready to get where you are going. They sat there and watched me for an hour not telling me I could not use cash to check in my luggage at the gate after they told me it was double the amount to check it in at the gate. The sight u use on the boarding pass u download on the phone is not clear. It says baggage fee +$25.00. I thought it was 25.00 till the women in Phoenix showed me the + sign. She said “it is confusing”. I did not buy the ticket because it was for an unexpected funeral of my sister. My other sister did so I didn’t see all the stuff from Travelocity. After telling me it would be $50.00 the check in male and female at the gate saw me sitting there for an hour and never told me I couldn’t pay cash. By the time it was boarding time if a nice woman did not offer to use her credit card and I have her the $50 cash I would have missed my flight. The manager at the gate in Portland even told me I would miss my flight. The two check in staff at the gate said “well we didn’t know you only had cash” and they weren’t even concerned that I was going to miss my flight. It would of been nice of them to tell me this when I sat there for an hour after they told me They we’re doubling the price. I would of had time to go back through security, only pay $25.00 and the other nice passenger would have not had to use her credit card. Very rude and poor service especially after a sad occasion of burying your sister!"

Why didn't they just leave us in the terminal until everything was ready for us?"

Pros: "I liked the expediency of being rescheduled for another flight and the kindness of the American Airlines staff. When I first received my boarding pass, the pass listed gate A24 as the one where my flight was scheduled to depart. The plane destined to depart from Dallas to LAX did not show up. However, a few of us were kindly offered a cot and blankets to sleep on. The next morning I folded the cot and the blankets and found an American Airline staff member who swiftly rescheduled me for another flight to LAX. She did state that the original flight had departed at 11:15 p.m."
Cons: "From around 6 P.M., December 11, 2017, I was at gate A24 - the gate listed as the Departure gate for my return flight to Los Angeles. The last flight that left went to Saint Louis, I believe. There was never a flight to depart from Gate 24 to Los Angeles. I believe the gate may have been changed and for some reason, those who were at Gate 24 were not informed. Also, the travel instructions on the advertisement for scheduling the flight mentioned the ability to carry on luggage for no additional charge. When I received my boarding pass, it stated I was only allowed to carry on baggage that would fit underneath the seat and not in the overhead bin. I had to pay to check my baggage that I thought was free. In spite of the changes, the flight was a good flight. Thank you"

Cons: "my first flight was delayed by 4 hours so I automatically missed my connection. i called american to reschedule my flight for the next day in order to spend the night at my house and not have ro ask for hotel, they said no problem. when I go to she counter to explain they said that they would put me on a later flight and that they where sure I would make it. when I arrived miami I had missed my connection and they did NOT cover the hotel expenses they rebooked me for the next day at 5pm. no food no hotel no nothing. the next day I arrived at the airport counter the people at the american airline's counter did not want to let me thorugh because I had a one way ticket... after explaining for over 25 minutes they let me go.... the miami gloght to Bermuda then was also delayed for a total of 2 hours and they changed gates 8 times from one end to thw other and so on.... the worst service ever........"
