Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Amazing crew"
Cons: "No milk available."
Cons: "An officious crew who said they had a 'seat belt detector' to tell if people's seatbelts were fastened. A late flight... with lies about the reason for the delay."
Cons: "1.5 hour delay...no reason given!"
Pros: "Awesome crew!"
Pros: "The plane was nice and the entertainment on the flight was great! Flight crew very friendly."
Cons: "Our plane was delayed multiple times and we were not provided an explanation as to why. For as expensive as this fare was the fact that Delta was at fault for the delay and did not offer any compensation for that delay is frustrating. A few extra free snacks doesn’t cut it."
Pros: "What did you like? Decent meals, no charge for cocktails, blankets, pillows and head sets for everyone, friendly flight attendants, excellent entertainment options."
Pros: "Crew was nice"
Pros: "Good entertainment options."
Cons: "Only water and coffee available. Flight had been delayed over an hour."
Cons: "The pork dinner meal option was burnt … al the way through."
Pros: "Crew and food"
Cons: "Spacing between seats and overhead luggage storage. They ran out of room before the entire plane had boarded"
Pros: "The crew were great. A little too warm on the plane at the back of the plane and too cold at the front."
Cons: "Since this was the first leg of two, the person who checked us in did not check our bags to the final destination. Then, when we went to go to check in for our second leg, they wanted to charge for our baggage again. Not cool Delta."
Pros: "food and service was amazing"
Cons: "delay in seattle caused a loss of a whole day of my holiday. VERY UNHAPPY"
Pros: "Yeah...spacious leg rooms."
Cons: "Too bumpy landing at Jackson."
Cons: "Leg room was lacking."
Pros: "The crew and comfort was ok"
Cons: "The snack options coming from us to aus were only packets of crisps/chips and apples and cranberry juice."
Pros: "We had purchased economy tickets and got assigned seats that were not next to each other. As we were boarding the ticket person gave us a new seat assignment closer to the front and next to each other – we really appreciated and liked it. Makes me want to fly Delta again!"
Cons: "No food, just snacks and no place close to the gate to eat."
Pros: "everything was perfect. Even though our flight was international the delta airline app allowed us to complete check in process without major delays. - 5 star in flight service and flight attendant personnel"
Cons: "I liked everything"
Pros: "Thanks to Angel in the ATL airport who helped ensure I had a more comfortable flight. He was very kind and I appreciated his help."
Pros: "At least the flight wasn't cancelled?"
Cons: "Five minutes before the scheduled boarding time, it was announced the flight was delayed by 1 hour 25 minutes. I am almost certain this was not weather-related, according to flight trackers. I understand that weather delays are essentially out of airlines' hands. However, if the delay is caused for other reasons like "mechanical issues", or any other errors or miscommunications within the airline itself, then they should be held liable. My time is worth money, so any delays not weather-related should result in a reasonable refund based on the duration of the delay. An apology doesn't placate customers' frustration and inconvenience due to delays."
Pros: "Nice enough crew"
Cons: "The MD88 is such a crappy plane for anyone that wasn't born a dwarf. I'm tired of filling out these and yet you do nothing about it. It is criminal to cram is in like sardines like this."
Pros: "The boarding was very organised and the crew very friendly. The snacks that they offer is great too"
Pros: "Your entertainment system is fabulous!"
Cons: "We purchased a direct flight from Boston to Tampa. We paid extra for the convenience of a direct flight Our flight was changed without notification to a connecting flight that was leaving 10 minutes earlier and arriving 2 hours later. Due to malfunction with the kiosk and not a sufficient amount of agents at check in, we missed our flight by 4 minutes. The gate agent seemed to enjoy telling us, with our 10 month old baby, that we were too late. Our baggage, including car seat, had been loaded on the plane. We were reassigned to a flight the following morning. We missed a full day with family, had to travel back home without a car seat and return to the airport the following day. I was shocked and disappointed that not single Delta agent was accommodating or remotely helpful while we were at the airport. I've never had a problem with Delta before. We travel on regularly and would like to continue using Delta. I would like a voucher for my next Delta trip."
Pros: "Flight o time"
Pros: "I liked the fact that the flight left on time and landed ahead of schedule."
Cons: "The flight was rough. The coffee was horrible though."
Pros: "Allowed Pre boarding of infant (which American no longer does), complimentary food, entertainment on domestic flight, and friendly staff. Delta is upping the game!"
Pros: "New aircraft A320"
Pros: "Service was exceptional, flights were on time and in some case, early, and communication throughout was clear!"
Cons: "requirement to wait for seat assignment until at the gate"
Cons: "The food service was way to rushed , no time to relax with a cocktail before dinner was being served. The warm mixed nuts were stale tasting. The soup was excellent. The breakfast was not edible . Not your usual standard, Delta. Makes me sad as my late husband was a million miler plus and we have always been loyal to you, Seems like you have too many passengers in business class to provide food and service you can be proud of"
Pros: "Clean & new plane, some of the stewards were fine, good pilot"
Cons: "head of the stewards was nasty with everybody, not polite and passive aggressive. Very poor food selection, even if you paid for it."
Pros: "On time"
Pros: "Flight was smooth and pleasant. Cabin crew was very kind."
Cons: "I flew on a 15 year old plane. After my excellent flight to LAS with AA, flying DL was a notable downgrade. No drinks and nuts/pretzels."
Cons: "We sat on-board the aircraft, at the gate, for almost 2 hours due to a weather delay. During this time, we were not offered refreshments, nor were we offered any type of "compensatory benefit" for our delay (e.g., free Wi-Fi, vouchers good toward a future flight (a $30 voucher per passenger would seem appropriate), additional SkyMiles (3000-5000 SkyMiles would seem appropriate), etc.)."
Cons: "Boarding in LA was. Mess"
Pros: "Flight Attendants!"
Cons: "When flight arrived late, the plane then required maintenance. After boarding, we were told the fuel vehicle was out of fuel. A small fuel truck was then called in, and it failed to operate. The Captain made a decision to deboard due to outside temperature with little air-conditioning...amd mid-deplaning...fueling was complete amd passengers were told to go back to seats. Flight Attendants were amazing throughout this incompetent ground crew ordeal.!!! Captain was Great as well...his effort kept all informed and sought the best possible outcome for his passengers!!!"
Pros: "The staff of the flight were very friendly and attentive. They were great!"
Pros: "Crew did an outstanding job"
Cons: "No entertainment"
Pros: "On my ticket it clearly indicate that I am entitled to 2 check in baggage. Delta completely refused to honor this. They said am only entitled 1 piece, and therefore I have to pay for the other luggage. I was forced to borough money from someone at the airport just so that I could board the flight."
Cons: "I am asking that my money be refunded. And next time delta should honor and respect agreements. And be more professional"
Pros: "Very nice employees. Coke, peanuts good."
Cons: "Outgoing plane had tv screens, large, with good movie choices, but was an hour late. Returning, if you brought a phone, you can get an app. My phone is about four inches. No good movies. Seats even smaller on this "new plane." Deboarding chaos. Everyone unhappy. Hour late again."
Cons: "Delayed four hours"
Pros: "I was very grateful to have made this flight on standby."
Cons: "Someone has to sit in the seat next to the restroom. Had I a choice in the matter, I would have preferred to sit elsewhere. But as I said, I was grateful to have made the flight, and arrive at my destination a mere 3 hours late."
Pros: "We barely got on the flight."
Cons: "The boarding "red shirt" saved us. We are a band on tour and thanks to her we made the gig"
Pros: "on time. easy no issues"
Pros: "Great plane"
Cons: "Delta Flight #1661 I paid for 1st class. My first flight was late so I arrived at the gate after boarding began. When the gate attendant scanned my ticket another printed. When he handed me the ticket my seat had changed to seat 25E. I told the attendant that I had paid for first class. He asked me to step aside while he contacted his supervisor, Joe. Then I had to wait until ENTIRE flight had boarded which defeated part of the reason I paid for the upgrade. This was on top of the fact I was so thirsty because 1st flight didn't have drink service and because it was late I had to book it to the connection arriving sweaty, hot and needing to use the bathroom. I was told they had given my seat away to someone as a free upgrade. Joe offered me a $100 voucher to take other seat which was less than I paid for 1st class, plus the seat was a middle seat in the rear of the plane. When I told him as much, he tried to manipulate me by telling me that they would have to kick someone out of my seat. When I declined the downgrade, they made me stand by while they kicked someone out of my seat which was embarrassing and humiliating. Then, when they handed me a new boarding pass, it was not the seat I had paid for and selected, instead it was in the first row, which I’ve always hated because there is no under seat storage and I cannot keep my backpack with me. When I pay for first class, it is primarily so that I can board first and so that I have extra room to work (which I need access to my bag to do). While I was trying to take out the minimum of the things I needed from my bag and figure out how to manage without it, 3 times a flight attendant told me they had to take my bag (since I was the last person to board they tried to prevent me from using the bathroom and they were anxious to leave early). I tried to explain that Delta had prevented me from boarding earlier and that they gave away the seat I paid for which was NOT the first row."
