Switzerland has allowed travelers with a Swiss passport or a valid residence permit in Switzerland to enter. Entry restriction may apply to all other people.
There are no longer any entry restrictions related to coronavirus for persons arriving from Schengen and EU countries or from the small European states Andorra, the Vatican/Holy See, Monaco and San Marino as well as certain third countries. The normal entry requirements apply to persons arriving from these states.
For all other third-country citizens traveling directly from a high-risk country, entry restrictions apply when they enter Switzerland, for example for a holiday, visit or other reason. Persons who do not have rights of free movement and do not hold a valid permit allowing them to live or work in Switzerland will not be permitted to enter Switzerland from a high-risk country for stays of less than 90 days that do not require authorization, other than in cases of special necessity. Entry rules can change very quickly depending on the epidemiological situation. Check FOPH’s list of high-risk countries for more details.
Travelers from the UK and South Africa are not permitted entry to Switzerland. UK nationals and other non-Swiss/Liechtenstein nationals arriving from a “high risk-country” outside of the Schengen area are not permitted entry to Liechtenstein. These restrictions do not apply to UK nationals who are legally resident in Switzerland. They will be allowed to re-enter the country, but will need to present proof of residency, i.e. a Swiss residence permit (L / B / C / Ci permits). Holders of a cross-border permit (G permit), an FDFA legitimation card, a D visa issued by Switzerland and holders of a ‘laissez passer’ issued by a Swiss representation in cases of ‘individual special necessity’ may also enter the country.
Travelers from other countries who have the necessary visas and permits to enter, and authorized healthcare professionals may still enter the country.
Special allowances also exist in some cases for travelers arriving from Germany or Austria.
Travelers must complete an entry form prior to entry to Switzerland.
Travelers must present a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 PCR or rapid antigen test result issued within 72 hours prior to arrival. Children under age 12 are exempt from the testing requirement.
Travelers who have been in certain countries in the past 10 days are subject to quarantine for 10 days on arrival. The countries and areas affected are set down in the FOPH’s list of high-risk countries. All travelers arriving from the UK and South Africa are subject to a 10-day self-isolation, including those who arrived since December 14. Travelers who have arrived in Switzerland from December 14 onward, must be in quarantine in their place of residence or accommodation by midnight on December 22 at the latest, and must notify their local Cantonal Medical Service by 12 noon on December 24.
Same-day transit is permitted; however, travelers who are not nationals, residents, or family members of nationals/residents of EEA Member States may not transit through Switzerland when arriving from a non-Schengen Member State en route to another Schengen Member State. Additional exemptions exist for some categories of business travelers who have received advance permission.
Travelers transiting through Switzerland, are strongly advised to have their onward travel booked in advance and to have confirmed they meet the entry requirements of their destination country.

Uncharacteristically bad planning by LH on food choices left our rows near the front of Economy without a choice of meals: only pasta, tasty though it was, was available. The chicken option was gone. The flight status video program function did not work for anybody near us despite three equipment restarts by the crew."

I waited a full 1 1/2 hours. No other explanation. At the very end, when they finally put me on a flight, they chastised me for not checking in online---this was NEVER offered to me by Lufthansa on my flight there or on the return. With other airlines they always send me an email to check in online ahead of time. Lufthansa did not. I could not have been more disappointed with this checking in experience with Lufthansa. Again, the worst in my life and would be cause for me not to recommend Lufthansa to others. Otherwise, the flight itself and the actual crew were great. So disappointing to have such an unprofessional check in experience."

It became pretty obvious that we were cutting very close to the boarding time for our next flight (arrival scheduled for 4:05 pm and our flight to Chicago barding on 4:20 pm). One of the flight attendants kindly offered us to move up to the front seats of the plane on the last 15 minutes of the flight (with our luggage) so that we can exit as soon as possible. We moved (per his suggestions) and we were treated rudely by the young lady attendant of the Business Class. We explained that we moved after the suggestion of their other flying attendant. She called her supervisor on us, who in return, rudely, arrogantly and loudly started to berate us on how we "dared" to move ourselves to the Business class. After explaining the whole story again and showing her the tickets, she allowed us to stay to those seats for the last 10 minutes of the flight. We asked if an airport cart could be called to transfer us to the next gate, and they said no. We asked for information on the gate for Chicago and they did not provide one. Unfortunately, the plane landed very far from the gates. We had to enter the airport bus, which traveled for about 15 minutes before we got on a gate. There, we faced about 35 minutes of passport procedures and waiting lines. At that point, 5 minutes before our plane for Chicago was supposed to take off, we asked the passport pre-check officer what we should do (we assumed we would be missing the plane at that point) and he told us very rudely "When you REALLY miss your plane, then come back and ask me"!!!!!!!!! Then we passed through passport check and we were told to run to our gate (which by that time was no longer showing on the computer screen, and we knew about the changed number, ONLY because KAYAK sent the update to us-THANK YOU!!!). We ran for about 12 minutes. We arrived at our gate late by about 25 minutes after our flight was supposed to leave. There we were asked why we were running and when we told the guy who screened our boarding passes he responded "Well, running is good for your health..."!!!!! At that point I would have liked to give him a piece of my mind...We were told by the same guy that due to airport security issues, Frankfurt airport had so many delays in the last couple of weeks that planes know to wait for the late passengers. Couldn't someone have told us that before? We have NEVER been treated so poorly by an airline and we will NOT fly with them again. The LUFTHANSA customer service was terrible. We have not encountered such arrogance and lack of information for many years...Shame on them! AND we were not the only Americans running. There were families with little children and older people, etc etc, just because the Lufthansa attendants and ground crew did not feel like giving us the information we needed!!!"

This was an A320 and I was about #10 getting on the flight. Space was not an issue. This added an hour to a 25 hour day to wait for luggage at LAX. And BA gives the agents an edge in that their test fixture has rounded corners to that a 22 inch suitcase that has hard square edges at the bottom (or wheels that make it square) won't fit in it. So the agent just points that it doesn't fit and you have to check. I was not happy from Paris to London."

Cons: "My flight from Venice was almost 2 hours late leaving. I missed my connecting flight to Baltimore and was removed from the list even though the Baltimore flight left about 15 minutes late. I had 25 minutes to make it to my connecting flight but was already removed. Airline said I had to be through security within 35 minutes of the flight. I could not get a flight out until the next day."

Pros: "So the 777 WTP is definitely more comfortable than the 787. Much better than the Beijing leg outbound. Entertainment option also improved as outbound they hadn’t changed since August."
Cons: "Dining options in WTP poor with breakfast being a major fail. English was potatoes, spinach, beans and mushrooms. Alternative was the same but with a slice of tomato replacing the beans and spinach. Inedible."

Delta waived the $300 cancelation fee due to the terrorism alert to rebook two other ticket I had purchased. BA said they would but I can not receive confirmation of this until I rebook in the fall.
