Cons: "The plane was completely packed despite the COVID pandemic. A stranger sat next to me on the plane (distance of about 6 inches, not 6 feet). What social distancing? And yet they conveniently said no food/drink beverage for safety reasons. Good way for the airline to save a few bucks. Other airlines (like JetBlue) block out adjacent sears and give snacks in individual bags but this... I flew several times since the pandemic began and this was by far the worst. What a joke of an airline. Never flying them again"

I was in group 3 but was stuck behind people in other groups. Also, they ran out of room in the overhead storage which is frustrating when you're flight is already pushed out to a later time - the last thing I want to do at 1:00 am is wait for my luggage because it had to be checked. People brought on carry-on suitcases along with 1 personal item which were huge tote bags or backpacks. There's got to be a way to monitor overhead storage for items like that - if it's the size of a carry-on, they should need to check their suitcase. The snack was lack-luster. I went on a 5-hour flight to Seattle a few months ago and one cookie with no protein is hardly filling for that long of a flight."

They put us up in a shity hotel and the meal vouchers only worked at the airport where everything was closed by then or hotel which had no restaurant. United offered a $50 compensation which is a kick in the teeth compared to the inconvenience I was put trough. If I don't get properly compensated from United for that horrible experience I will never fly them again and tell everyone I know to never fly United."

Cons: "They sold an economy class ticket to a 400 pound woman by the window seat of my row and she spilled 50% of the way into the middle seat. The woman assigned the middle switched with a relatively thin member of her own party, but the poor kid was still cheated of his space and pushed against me in the aisle seat. I know it's considered insensitive to complain about the morbidly obese, but c'mon!!! Her inability to control her weight has affected me in a material way by subjecting me and the kid in the middle to 3 1/2 hours of misery. I guess the airline CAN'T call this issue to her attention for fear of discrimination charges, but they might make some kind of compensation (free flight, or at least a food coupon, or a pass to the United Club) to assuage the injured seatmates. Also, the airline was generous with drinks, but served no snack. Nothing? Really? I really don't like United, but, unfortunately, it's the main airline flying my route. I fly them only when there is no other choice."

We were finally on board by 3:30 (departure time) but the pilot blamed it on getting the paperwork late, and said we now had to wait for fuel. During that time, a couple storms moved in, and we ended up sitting on the tarmac for over an hour. It's one thing to be late, but it was a pretty pathetic attempt to divert blame to the crew at the airport."

I would not fly with this airline again unless it was a very short flight and I could fit all my luggage in a backpack."

If I didn't have access to a computer I would have paid more at the airport to check my bag and I would have had to pay to for my boarding pass!! I would have preferred to have 2 carry on bags - a purse and 1 bag, and a smaller bag to check. Instead I had to pack some very personal items in my larger checked bag so that I didn't have to pay for a second carry on. I wish I had researched other air lines before booking my flight with Spirit. I don't know if I would fly with Spirit again."

My flight was supposed to leave at 144pm on Tuesday, but we didn't board until 4p! There was no snow on Tuesday so we were told the problem was "our paperwork" needing to be cleared. We sat on a packed plane for 40 minutes until the captain came on and said that "our paperwork" had cleared and we would be taking off in 5 minutes. 5 minutes later, at 445pm, the exact time we were originally scheduled to be landing in Boston, a flight attendant came on and said the flight was cancelled and everyone needed to get off the plane!!!! Seriously!?! I headed right to the JetBlue counter and booked a flight home that night. I paid a king's ransom for the one way flight, but at least they didn't cancel it! Never again will I book a flight with Spirit Air."

Pros: "Very smooth landing...that's the best part. Seats are too close together so couldn't relax. Basically clean...carpet was stained. Attendants were very friendly. Check in was very easy...people helped me with boarding pass. I rate this airline very high and I will fly Spirit again. Thanks."
Pros: "The gate agent was very short and snippy at 5:30 am. So, that kind of makes everyone else in a bad mood. Too bad, because nobody was really awake and was looking forward going to the cold North. She could have made it a more pleasant boarding time..."

Cons: "Seats were uncomfortable and could not recline. I'm unhappy with deceptive charges. They tell you a price will be charged for a carry-on, but it turns out this price only applies if you pay for membership in a club - if you are not a member, the price is even higher. This is only made known when it is time to print your boarding passes. You are charged for choosing your seat, and it's not clear if you will be seated with the person you are traveling with if you do not pay that fee. Their charging system is kind of ridiculous, and it should be made more clear what things will cost you."

Cons: "I have never been afraid of crashing on a plane ever before & would never consider flying Spirit again. When I asked the flight attendant about the "weathered" condition of the plane, he told me that this plane was the oldest one in the fleet, they have been using all their brand-new planes, so he wasn't sure why this one was being used again. Not looking for comfort (which you obviously don't get in those seats), food or frills. But when the plane looks old and weathered and my reading light doesn't work, you tend to get a little concerned about the maintenance of the planes and your overall safety! Not worth saving $50!"
Cons: "Didn't like all the extra charges!!!! Didn't like unprofessional ticket agents and flight attendants. (not good to have panicky flight attendants in turbulence) Didn't like the three hour delay getting home Cramped seating. Sodas were $3!!"
Cons: "Never fly this airline unless your going to your in laws and really were looking for an excuse not to go. The baggage fees and seat fees are over the top and the airline cancelled my flight on Dec. 25 and said they were unable to accommodate me until Jan. 4th. Seriously. This airline is a joke!"
Pros: "Website to difficult to use. Couldn't get a seat. My Dad bought the ticket and I couldn't get on the website even using his name. Took 50 minutes to get our bags in baggage. Coming to FL our flight was delayed 6 hrs because we didn't have a crew. You guys are clueless"
Cons: "I don't understand how every other airline was able to fly in and out of Boston but spirit was not. I received absolutely horrible customer service. People would much rather their flight be delayed by 3-5 hours instead of being canceled. I have had a horrible expierence every flight and it simply is not worth it anymore."

Pros: "First check in Lady was kinda rude about my tiny carry on bag. Then someone else sat in my window seat. So I asked to move to an empty one.. Stewardess said wait till plane is in the air. Which I love take off and landings the best. Then she told me to move from 9d to 3 a....by the window! Then some guy in 1c was rude about sitting off his electronic s. Said stewardess snapped at him which she didn't.. And the first check in lady was also rude about pulling up my artinery. For the flight. . then the Airport only had one lane open for the longest time with 100 people waiting to get through there. I have bad knees. So standing that long was Painful to me."

Cons: "The seat were hard, uncomfortable and did not recline at all with little to no knee room. The charge of $55 for a carry on which was free on American Airlines on our return trip was overboard. The charge of $55 for a checked bag was $30 higher than American Airlines which we used for our return trip. Now that we know the nickel and dime method of Spirit we will check out other airlines but in this case it was an emergency flight where my wife's brother eventually died in the hospital and we had to get there quickly and flew Spirit. Thanks for having 2 seats available on short notice for this emergency flight."
