Pros: The flight never occurred. The first leg of my flight from Ho Chi Minh was cancelled and I was not informed. I discovered this when I went to check in. I called Kayak to resolve this since I had confirmation of the booking and was placed on hold. After 2 HOURS I hung up. At roughly 4:00 am I spoke with someone at Kayak who confirmed the flight was cancelled and that I was not contacted. An offer was made to put me on another flight a day later but that was impossible because of needing another Covid test. I was able to arrange another flight that was more expensive.

Cons: Seats were reasonably comfortable but not as spacious in design as in other business class cabins, so that could be a concern for some travelers. Also, I was not able to convert the main menu of the entertainment system to my preferred language so it was a bit difficult to navigate (that being said, they provided a card that guided me, so it was still usable, and the entertainment selection was good!).

I wonder of the attendants could have been a little more firm with the mother to ask her not to let the child roam the aisle.

Cons: They have to take the prize for having the absolute slowest customer service in the world. When I booked my tickets, I emailed customer service to make sure I didn’t get a center seat. It took them two months - TWO MONTHS - to email me back, to tell me there was nothing they could do. I also had to be reticketed on my flight from Tokyo to Hanoi. It took them 3 1/2 hours to do this. I had to sit in the airport for 3 1/2 hours to get my ticket changed. Unbelievable. They could’ve chiseled it in stone faster than they issued it.

Pros: Let's face it - flying b-class is pretty awesome, so for $3300, it was really great. Loved the food selections, though I did feel the food was a little on the heavy side. I had the Japanese fare, which was lighter, but a little more salted than what I prefer - but over all very good. Service was amazing - the crew is super-nice. The plane, a massive 787 jet, absorbed the turbulence like it was nothing. It was like riding in one of those Cadillacs from the 1970's. The lavatories were big enough that I could actually stand up straight (and I'm 6'0"). The seats were pretty good as well - they had a feature for extension of the seating surface to allow for more thigh support (which I love) as well as great lumbar support. the movie selection was OK - neither great nor bad, and I ended up watching 4 movies during the flight anyway. ;)
Cons: I preface this section by saying that I'm being very nit-picky here - there's not much I can really say, except that the seats, while they will recline to a flat surface, which is great for dozing off, they are angled about 15 degrees so you're constantly sliding down them in that position. Also, there could be more support for your head in the reclined position - I had to futz with pillows and a blanket to get that comfortable. However, the reclined position was the most comfortable, and I could get it so that I was sufficiently reclined with my legs extended and horizontal, while laying back without sliding down. This was sufficient for resting. I'm only mentioning this because I flew a business class flight on Delta in 2015 which had ridiculously amazing seats that reclined all the way flat and horizontal. On the 9-11 hour flight from Tokyo back to San Diego, which will take place mainly at night, this would be a very useful feature.
Pros: The crews were polite and reliable. No bossy or mean like other airlines. they moved prompt, no running or fast walk on aisles, so that passengers can ask things easily. Food was much better comparing with any other companies. The boarding time was delayed one hour, however we landed japan 2, 3 mins later than the estimated arrival time. Landing technique was beautiful. American, United, ANA which I flew caused me have a deep Earache. I didn't get any pain from this flight. I am already scared of returning flight with American airplines.

Passengers on International flights going out of the Philippines are advised be at the airport at least 3 hours before scheduled flight. Well, the JAL check-in counter opened at 650AM for the 950AM flight (exactly 3 hours before the scheduled flight), with maybe some 50 people already in line. With most passengers coming far from the airport, it will be very very helpful if the counter, even at least one counter, would open earlier, so that passengers who came in early could check in early and wait comfortably in the departure area.

Cons: I'm an entertainer, very well respected in Hawaii, Japan and the world. and has always traveled JAL. I travel with my guitar and has never had a problem carrying it on board. The staff will usually come a get it and put it in the closet if it didn't fit in the overhead. But I guess recently rules change, and was told I would have to check it in because the closet space is used only for staff and business people. Was told that the 737 was to small for my guitar won't fit overhead. I have taken 737's all my life with Aloha Airlines and told them that my guitar would fit. That gentleman was a JERK! and was'nt very helpful, and told me I couldn't take it on board and I would have to take it to the package store and have them box it up. That spoiled my whole vacation.

Cons: I have been flying JAL from HK to Boston numerous times and by far my favourite (over Cathay and don't even need to mention United). However this past trip gave me a new perspective. Given it is a Japanese airline and all, it is normal for them to be Japanese-centric. We had an a-hole sitting in front of us at 51F during our flight to Narita and he was trying hard to argue with us in English, and even told us to move to another seat. When I had the flight attendant (her name is Sako on flight JL736 on Jul 26) over to discuss (in English) she went to the guy in front of us and started apologizing to him. For what??? She then came back to us speaking in Japanese and brushed the issue away. Sorry, no this was not acceptable, even though my fiance was okay with the situation.

Cons: Fukuoka and Narita airports had terminals that weren’t connected by a train or even an indoor path. It was covered but it was cold in Narita and Fukuoka required a slow shuttle.
Pros: Customer service
Pros: Plane was a little bigger from Grand Rapids and they moved us around to balance the plane and a lot of us got better seats.
Pros: Flight was on time.
Cons: It’s a commuter. It’s tiny. In flight left trash with us till plane was about to land. Pilots seemed inexperienced. Landing was hard, braking was hard approach was awkward and it was a beautiful day with no wind. Pilot shortage isn’t helping the regionals.
Cons: A two-stop flight turned into a three-stop flight and lost connecting flights!
Pros: Boarding at Springfield was fast and simple. The check-in agent were friendly and efficient. I especially appreciated that the flight arrived early into Dallas. I had a little more time to find lunch before my next flight.
Cons: Flight was delayed due to poor maintenance that caused issues before take off. Of course safety is important but that is why maintenance should be done routinely and prioritised accordingly. The pilot on the first delayed flight (new airplane) was clueless, his exact words "... our analysis team from midwest needs an hour to figure out whether we can fly or not" This is after we have boarded the flight. Then after about an hour of sitting in the plane, he says "rumor has it that a new plane will be towed in..." What? Why didn't they stop boarding and just get the new plane in. And I don't appreciate the emails saying flight is delayed without giving any reason for it. AA could have certainly done a better job of communicating the issue. Further the flight crew including the pilot were acting like victims. If it were an Asian carrier like Singapore Airlines, the crew would be smiling and providing assitance courteously since they represent the airlines. Not flying them again.
Pros: I'm glad they didn't fly an airplane that didn't pass the mechanic's evaluation.
Pros: Boarding was more efficient than I expected. And the leg room was very good, but the seats were narrow. Narrow seats made it a bit uncomfortable for a long 13 hour flight. Crew was efficient and very friendly.
Cons: The sandwiches were too cold - actually had ice cycles. Narrow seatingwas constricting and entertainment wasn't varied enough.
Pros: The amount of things to keep you entertained for the long flight
Cons: I had to have my seat up the entire route so that made a very uncomfortable flight was never able to really rest
Pros: The flight itself was fine -- I never felt any major discomfort.
Cons: All three of our luggage were left behind in Chicago; normally it would not be a big deal, but we are leaving for a trip right away and needed our suitcases, clothes, and the souvenirs we had bought for our friends. This inconvenience is why I rated this flight low.

Cons: had to take another flight, ticket agent was able to change me to a different flight on JAL. however, JAL could not access the ticket info and ticket agent would not take my payment. result was missing that flight, ticket manager told me it's my fault and tough luck no refund. American airlines told me the same, ended up losing my money for the ticket purchase. i booked another new flight with another airline direct. worst experience in my life using kayak.

Pros: Entertainment was great. I really liked the touch screens on the chairbacks. Food was fine for airplane food. It came more than I expected. Get sandwiches over the meals, they are better quality. A vegetarian guy had a hard time but the crew tried to help him out. Comfort was ok for a 13 hour trip. The chairs are not really the best and my back hurt after a while. Make sure you stretch! Crew was nice except for one lady. But she wasent rude just... non responsive. Other members were fantastic though. Boarding was very painless.
Cons: There was a problem with the plane and we were stuck with very warm conditions for 2 hours and 40 minutes before we took flight.

Cons: 2.5-hour delay caused me to miss connection in Tokyo. Boarding took a long time. Nearly one hour for my suitcase to emerge on carousel, well after all other bags. Legroom minimum in coach. Sandwich for the snack was frozen in the middle.
Pros: Everything was great their wasn't enough clarification as to what airline I was fliying. It said Japan air on my confirmation email but it would up being through American Airlines. The experience through American was superb but I would of liked clarity on such airline I was going to fly with.

Cons: My outbound flight to Manila had an overnight layover in Japan. I asked at the luggage check-in at O'Hare International Airport if they can check it all the way through as I had planned to go outside of the Narita airport for the layover. They told me I couldn't check the luggage all the way through and that I had to pick it up from baggage claim once I land in Narita. From there I had to check-in the luggage again on the same day. When I took my luggage out from baggage claim, I tried to check-in and the counter crew told me I was given wrong information. I had to keep my luggage with me until my flight the following day. On my return flight from Manila and another overnight layover in Narita, the check-in crew at NAIA told me I could check-in my luggage all the way through, and that they also allowed this at my outbound flight to Manila. The check-in crew at O'Hare International Airport gave me wrong information.

Cons: Where to start? How about when I checked in at the counter, I asked the check in attendant to add my FF number on my ticket. They said they'll get right to it, handed me my tickets and sent me on my way. It never happened. Not a big deal, I can request the mileage post flight, but still something. Look at my tickets, that I had booked a week in advance and specifically reserved an aisle seat. My ticket says "Priority Verification," whatever that means. Turns out it means you don't have a seat, and you get the worst of the worst. So what seat is the worst? How about the middle seat in a row of 5. The middle in a row of 5, on a transoceanic flight... What kind of airlines has 5 in a row? The guy next to me spent $300 for his ticket, I spent $1200, for the same flight, and this is the kind of seat I get? The plane felt like it was straight out of the 90's, carpeted center walls, old seats, tiny tv's. Overall, a plane that felt had not been updated in decades. Took 20 minutes for a flight attendant to respond to the flight attendant sign. This wasn't during beverage or food service, just a normal time at cruising altitude. They also don't have eye masks. Every other transoceanic flight I've been on has them provided in the seat pocket, American Airlines doesn't even have them on the plane! Economy class has no USB or power outlets, the in flight entertainment is about a 5" screen in probably 260p resolution. Decent selection of movies, but you have to join the movie in progress or wait approx 10 minutes for the next movie to start. Legroom was okay unless you had one of the entertainment boxes in your way, then that takes up 30% of your space. Some of the tray tables do not have cup holders, on the top, bottom, or anywhere on it. Also my table was tilted, so every time I put a cup on it, it slid right off. Seems like a minor complaint, but eating dinner and fighting a sliding cup the whole time is a pain. Dinner and breakfast tasted decent, but you can tell American is cheap on the food. Most airlines will give something like a main course, a bread roll, fruit cup/salad, juice, small dessert. American gives you the main course and a fruit cup and that is all. Crappy utensils too. Overall, if I had paid maybe $200 for the flight, I wouldn't have any room to complain, but because American holds the government carrier contract for FY17, I had to fly on them at exorbitant cost, and would never recommend them to anyone.
Pros: It was a very peaceful flight. The crew was extremely professional, and courteous, one of the members went out of her way, and frankly it was the kindest flight attendant has been to me in a while.
Cons: The typical complaint you would hear regarding airplane food. Though, it does not warrant a true complaint of the flight.
Cons: Taking away headphones 40 mins prior to landing is ridiculous. AA needs to abandon Bose or figure out a better way.

Cons: they canceled our flight to hanaeda and instead had us take an hour later flight to narita which is a 1 1/2 hour $30 bus ride away which they don’t pay for. this caused us to miss our connecting flight to Asahikawa, the last flight of the day. The connection time allowed was not nearly enough even if the plane had not been an hour late and there are no flights to asahikawa from narita. yo have to transfer to hanaeda. remind me not to fly United to Tokyo again as I’m pretty sure the flight was canceled because it was not full enough. Even the narita flight with all the hanaeda passengers rebooked on it was not full. So i suspect this may be a relatively common occurance on the hanaeda flight.
Cons: In both airports I was wheeled to gates and left in the way of people coming and going. I tried to get the attention of airline employees and when I did they told someone else and so I sat for between 40-60 minutes.

Pros: This is not a long flight (Grand Rapids, MI to Newark, NJ: just under 2 hours). There was a minor delay for departure of 20 minutes that Kayak and United kept us well aware of. The Grand Rapids, Ml airport is one of my new favorites -it's small, friendly, comfortable and quick and easy to navigate.
Cons: Left about 15 minutes late. But we didn't miss any connections so everything turned out okay.

Pros: Nowadays the gate closes 10 minutes before takeoff which really helps get the plane off on time as we can make connections. Some may not know this and find it frustrating. As a regular traveler I appreciate the move.

Cons: Our plane was delayed leaving Grand Rapids. Once in Houston there was no gate available causing another 10 minute delay. All bags were required to be checked plane side so once we finally got off the plane it took another 10 minutes to get our bags. Many passengers had tight connections and had to rush to their next flight. My connection was already tight as it was - and I had to go to a completely different terminal very far from where I was to catch it. Five of us were on that flight connecting to San Diego. We finally made it to the gate. The plane was still there but the door was closed so we were not allowed to board. It was the last flight out so we were stranded in Houston overnight. This caused me to miss a very important medical appointment this morning - and to have to cancel client sessions leading to a significant loss of income.
