Premium economy is so nice.

The cabin is SO HOT. Made the entire trip obscenely uncomfortable. They also only turn down the lights for 4h of the 9h flight, making is very difficult to sleep. Also, kayak and JAL wouldn’t let me change my flight, which was incredibly frustrating! JAL has a very nice on board crew.

cramped seating, no entertainment, no meal despite the website ensuring it. The baggage crew dented my hard shell bag.

The airline wanted to charge me an additional $108.00 to check my second bag despite their policy stating that the first two checked bags are free. In order to not miss my flight, I had to leave one bag. Thankfully, I had enough room in my other bag and carry on to accommodate all my things.

There was a delay in our departure as they waited for transfer passengers. However, we arrived at LAX as scheduled.

Broker in between introduce by website made it impossible to rebook flight in practice. Those website are very practical to look for flights but unless they give you the company direct you are better off switching to company site and book it there. Cons: "I have been flying JAL from HK to Boston numerous times and by far my favourite (over Cathay and don't even need to mention United). However this past trip gave me a new perspective. Given it is a Japanese airline and all, it is normal for them to be Japanese-centric. We had an a-hole sitting in front of us at 51F during our flight to Narita and he was trying hard to argue with us in English, and even told us to move to another seat. When I had the flight attendant (her name is Sako on flight JL736 on Jul 26) over to discuss (in English) she went to the guy in front of us and started apologizing to him. For what??? She then came back to us speaking in Japanese and brushed the issue away. Sorry, no this was not acceptable, even though my fiance was okay with the situation."

Cons: "The DC China Embassy web site clearly states that a valid APEC Business Card can be used in lieu of a Chinese visa. In spite of this I was denied boarding by JAL. It turns out the system is not fully in place, and eventually I was issued a 10 year multiple entry visa by way of apology. JAL did not waive cancellation fee, and I suffered considerable economic damages."

The food and beverage options were comparable to most airlines like Delta, United, etc, but presentation was better so they get style points. Their wifi connectivity was far better than Gogo's services, which is the provider for most domestic airlines. The real improvement compared to most my travel was the level of service. The staff was incredibly attentive."

The crew had to spend quite a bit of time trying to figure out how to return from a flat bed to the upright position. Entertainment was re-booted 3-4 times during the flight to get it to work consistently."

Cons: "I have just had the most unpleasant experience with Swiss Air and feel that anyone on FB should be very careful when dealing with this airline. I am a Gold Member of Star Alliance for more than 20 years and have flown dozens of times on Swiss and would expect courtesy and consideration in return for my loyalty to their airline. Their flight from Hong Kong to Zurich leaves at 00:15. I mistakenly booked this for Nov 9th instead of the intended late evening of the 9th which then turns out to be Nov 10th. When I discovered my error, I called Swiss at least six times to explain my error and ask if my son could stand by for the same flight on the 10th or even apply the amount to rebook the same flight the next day. ZERO flexibility or consideration. Missed flight, lose entire value. Start from scratch. Astonished that an airline that claims to be serving their customers would treat me this way. I travel through Europe at least 6-10 times a year from Asia. I will now route through Frankfurt, Munich, Paris, London, Vienna, Instanbul or even Moscow before ever going through Zurich again. I encourage anyone making travel plans to be very careful when considering flights with Swiss Airlines. Perhaps this treatment of a loyal customer explains why they went through bankruptcy already once."

Cons: "The flight was transferred to a smaller plane, either because there were few passengers (the first story we heard) or because of mechanical problems on the original craft (the second story). Business class was oversold as a result, and boarding was delayed for an hour while they waited for enough BC passengers to accept 800 euros for the downgrade to economy plus. They repeatedly threatened to cancel the flight rather than raise the offer. Eventually enough knuckled under and we were allowed to leave. Some no doubt missed connections because of this petty brinkmanship. The funny coda is that because the plane was so undersold, anyone in economy that wanted their own row could have one, while economy plus was packed with the embittered and downgraded."

Flying from Munich- The entertainment screen was broken, completely unusable. After a hard reset by the flight attendant several times... Still broken. She said she thought it would fix itself once we were at cruising altitude. Nope. Notified the flight attendant who said vaguely "I'll see what I can do..." Never came back to check, never got offered any sort of compensation (even something like a free mixed drink would have been nice), offer to move seats, nothing. So- ten hours with no entertainment/nothing to watch, just a malfunctioning screen. Food was mediocre. We boarded late, and left almost 1 hour late because they had to wait for an employee (who was not working, just getting a ride back) to board. Literally there and back with Lufthansa was a fiasco. On top of it, we have been back for 3 weeks and are still waiting to hear back from Lufthansa customer service. Apparently they only communicate by email with complaints. Not over the phone. So after repeated emails, just radio silence. Terrible airline."

The men were receiving from the stewardesses repeatedly two glasses at a time and kept going back to the galley and getting two glasses of wine at a time Although they were loud, congregating in the aisle around rows 37 and 39 they were not limited in what they could drink. The two on either side of me were disrespectful of my personal space and were very inappropriate. I got up and went to the galley behind my seat to ask the stewardesses to get me another seat. During this time the guys kept coming back to this galley for more wine still taking two at a time. The stewardesses explained that the plane was full. Others complained also. I then asked the stewardesses if since they were over serving these guys, would they trade one of their jump seats with me. At this point they cut the guys off and got the pursar. She talked to them and ignored my personal safety concerns and said no one gets on a plane drunk (yeah, right) and that they would now behave and were asleep. That's why they are still talking at the top of their lungs and standing in the aisle? I asked. I wish I had video recorded this, I did not as others with kids in the aisles across from me did. I hope their videos go viral Not impressed with Lufthansa"

Cons: "The overseas Lufthansa flights have the least space of all the flights and trains I took throughout my trip, including other Lufthansa flights within Europe. The bathrooms were more cramped and fewer in number for an overbooked flight, boarding was disorganized and delayed, the passengers in front of me put their seats all the way back for most of the flight, and seriously, just a few more inches of space would make these long flights 104% better. I think everyone would be happier to fly on less awful planes, including the poor crew who has to deal with miserable passengers."

Volunteer was totally unfazed but Desk crew made it seem as tho the Muslim mom was at fault for the time and trouble they had had to go through to accommodate her. She apologized profusely and was very appreciative for the trouble evernote had gone to for her. . As she walked away the crew looked at each other and shook their heads. Pretty crummy way to treat customers!"

It really stings that I then had to book a new return flight, and because I am a teacher who makes about $23,000 a year, I had to book the cheapest flight, which was with American. After 1 million miles on AA I will avoid them now."

And then, surprise ! All of the sudden they noticed there was an issue with his and some of the crews' hours and we had to wait till they could locate more crew. But they gave us each a 1/3 glass of water and later a $12 food voucher which didn't even cover a meal and beverage. Whoop-de-do. 7 hours later we finally boarded for the third and last time. The crew on the other hand stayed professional and friendly."

With connecting flight of 1.5 hours which is scary for international flight that requires going through custom then recheck luggage and TSA line again. The saving grace is captain speed up place on first leg of international flight so arrived airport 1 hour early, thus allowing enough time to connect."

At a point I'm just going to cut you off and that will be it!" I did not use this return flight as I was going to Europe for work. The flight coming to Montreal 7 days prior was flawless. There was a 50 min delay that was not unexpected. Nothing wrong on Kayak or Air Canada about this flight.

Then he announced we needed to di ice. No problem. Safety first. He said no longer than 30 minutes. One hour later we were on our way. Air canada had no crew on the ground and over and hour wait for customer service on the phone so i had no way to find out what my reticketing status was. I was passed off to numerous other airlines and sent through the airport to the incorrect terminals in heathrow causing another missed flight. Air canada did not accept the responsibility to maintain my reservation and get me to my destination efficiently. Even when I spoke with a phone representative the person was rude and never sent confirmation of my flights so I had no reference point for flight numbers or air lines. All of his added up to more than 13 hours of delays on what was already a 24 hour trip. Worst travel experience of my life."

When I got my ticket she was like here you go without explaining anything or a sorry. When I asked for a few details like am I in a hotel overnight or when do I leave she gave me an eye roll. When I got to the plane after traveling all day and waiting extra hours there was an empty row right in front of me. I tried to lay down but the attendant made me move because I hadn't booked comfort plus even though the flight I booked I would have been in Denver hours ago. Things happen but it's all how you deal with it and air canada does not deal well."

Cons: "The gate changed 4 times and there was confusion at final boarding. The Toronto airport TSA agents have absolutely no manners and need to be retrained or fired. Traveling has become very stressful and try make it worse. There was a Hispanic girl, heavy set with curly hair yelling at us to approach the scanners. I talked to her asking her to be gentle with us because we'd just flown for 7 hours and are suffering from time zone changes. Another yelled at my seatmate about his travel size after shave. She was a black Caribbean. She snapped at me about the importance of security and that he was rude for saying he didn't care that she'd throw his stuff away. I told her that he said he didn't care because he's tired and quite frankly, a trail sized aftershave that she doesn't approve actually doesn't matter and is nothing for her to get worked up about. Her colleagues were all staring at her as she started throwing her weight around and making unprofessional nonverbal noises. Then there the room where you weight for your name on the screen to appear if your number is 1 or 2. The people in there are extremely gruff. There was only one Hispanic woman who took my slip of paper that had my pic who said please and thank you. Then when you go to customs to get your passport signed, the guy at counter 10 starts arguing with me for no reason. I put 1 family member on the customs form. He asked if anyone is traveling with me. I said no. He clarified that one should mean an additional person and not just me traveling. I said it wasn't clear and I didn't know. But he decided to get argumentative with me about it until I said ok and walked away. Your TSA process is a nightmare. I did not experience that at Heathrow, Vienna, Or Tel Aviv (all places that have recently experienced terrorism). I didn't even experience it in my arrival town Denver. Toronto TSA is very very poor."

Cons: "The least comfortable flight I've taken for a long trip. My family complained constantly also, including my daughter that travels for pleasure more than I do. The seats seem impossible to get comfortable in. I'm 6 feet tall and 175 lbs and the seat is too narrow to try to do anything that sit up straight. The angle of the seat to the bottom of the seat in front make it difficult to find a comfortable position. Once I got my legs under the seat in front of me my own seat pad pushed into my thighs limiting the blood flow. The flight attendants on the flight there and the flight back seemed like they hated their job. Never cracked a smile and seemed to be trying to make it through their chores. They ALL seemed unhappy and stressed. The food was the worst we've ever had on any flight, domestic or international. The sandwich for lunch was TERRIBLE. Out of 5 people none of us finished it. We tore most of the puffy odd bread off of it which left the meat which lacked any discernible flavor - making it taste fake. Having visited a couple of 3rd world countries on this flight we felt more at risk of eating bad food on the airline than on the streets of Hanoi. First and last time we'll fly Air Canada."
Pros: "I've been taking this flight for many years. The flight times, crew, and boarding process are all excellent. The food is always very good for a plane flight with plenty of options. When awake, the new seats are a pleasure and I especially appreciate the extra storage areas."
Cons: "By definition, this flight is long-haul with the necessity to sleep on it. In executive class, they have recently changed the "seats". The old ones were too cramped (narrow) for a 6 ft guy. The new ones are not only narrow but the table that telescopes down restricts the vertical height when the seat is fully down. It is literally impossible to lay on your side. This was a horrendous design and unacceptable for a sleeping flight."

Cons: "No extra blankets available. Would have preferred more Asian cuisine on HK/Toronto flight. Staff too busy with full economy cabin, so not responsive when pressed call button. Movie and TV selection not as extensive as Cathay, though kids same games much better."

Cons: "Air Canada SQUEEZES 10 seats across on this 777 (I've never had more than 9 on any other airline) and it is very cramped and uncomfortable (you'd better like your seat mates because you will be rubbing elbows and shoulders with them for many hours, especially on this 12 hour flight. They have very little leg room as well. This is the most miserable long haul airplane I have ever flown on, and I fly a lot. Discount airline planes are more comfortable than this one. It was over an hour after we had our meal until they got around to picking up our trays."
Pros: "The plane was not full so there was lots of room to stretch out, very nice."
Pros: "The crew on the plane were professional and polite and took exxtremely good care of us."
Cons: "The boarding process was confusing and the gate agents were extremely rude. I attempted to upgrade and the gate agent couldn't figure out the price diiference in fares. I offered to pay a flat rate per ticket which was much more than I had paid to upgrade on the way to Hong Kong and they said the computer wouldn't let them. The comfort of the plane was terrible. I had the same seats on Cathy Pacific and had at least 2" more leg room."
Pros: "The crew is very friendly and accommodating. Food was decent. We got thier latest plane with great little pods in business class. Overall it was pleasant."

Cons: "I was traveling overseas over a 10 day period. The inbound and outbound entertainment was exactly the same. It's pretty slim pickings when it's over 12 hour flights....."
