Pros: "My flight was canceled and Virgin Atlantic gave us a free room in the hotel Ramada. My next flight was at 18:55 and I asked Virgin Atlantic agent am I allowed to stay in the room until time for my flight comes, he confirmed yes and gave me breakfast, lunch, and dinner voucher. However, next day around 12 I got call from Front Desk that I have to leave my room right away because it's time to chack out and If I want to stay longer I have to pay. I called Virgin Atlantic agancy again and the agent run my information and said to me I can stayin the room longer. After that I called front desk to confirm that but they said they didn't hear anything from Virgin Atlantic and I have to leave the room by 1pm. All of this was really unpleasant!"

Cons: "I didn't make it to Siem Reap because the first leg of the trip from IAD to London was cancelled by Virgin Atlantic after it was fully boarded. The excuse was that a flight attendant had food poisoning and was unable to fly and so the entire flight was cancelled. The Virgin team seemed unconcerned and showed NO sense of urgency to try and get people rebooked. Their solution was to rebook everyone on an evening flight the next day. If a passenger was only going to London, that was probably fine. But for people with connecting flights -- or like me with multiple connecting flights -- that wasn't acceptable."

We missed our connection and had to wait 3 more hours for the next flight - We were somewhat lucky as multiple flights were delayed/cancelled that day - I will avoid using Virgin Atlantic in the future as they need Delta and British operate their flights and this makes it prone to issues like that"

Pros: "The entertainment selection was good, though I didn't need to see the blurb about having vloggers available before every movie. One of the very few airlines to use boarding by rows, which speeds up the boarding process."
Cons: "The legroom is very cramped, pretty difficult to eat your meal with the seat in front reclined. The crew were not very attentive: they completely missed me while I was waving the rubbish on their collection rounds. In the end I had to dump it myself in the toilet bins. The PA system is too loud compared to the rest of the entertainment, had to remove the headphones for each one of them."

Ran from gate F to gate c24 arrived at 10:23 p.m. Slight to the park at 10:25 p.m. and they closed the door on me as I was running up there. Ran across the entire terminal to get there and they would not let me on. Last Flight of the night to Bismarck. Missed my uncle's 90th birthday party. Would not give me food voucher. Delta gate agent told me she would lose her job if she did not close the doors 8 minutes prior. However the Minneapolis flight waited for 15 minutes for people to board that plane. How does that compute? Why would they not wait 3 minutes for me rather than pay the money to put me up in a hotel?"

Unfortunately, the Delta 767 doesn't offer any upgrade for a wider seat beyond Delta One, and my employer won't spring for that. Too bad there isn't a premium economy option. Also, the entertainment unit in the seat next to mine malfunctioned, which you wouldn't think would impact me that much except that because it was "seeing" touches randomly throughout the flight, the screen would turn on, off, brighter, dimmer, play random stuff, and just generally be as annoying as possible to everyone nearby throughout an overnight flight."

Everyone was very polite but check in was confusing. Everything else was wonderful. Cutomer service was great from beginning to end."

A pleasant flight overall with my first impression being an airline with current popular music playing in the background and flight attendants cheerful. Since I was traveling alone, I opted to not purchase my seat prior to my flight date, instead I chose my aisle seat within 24 hours for free. I checked in my one bag and found out I had pre-checked so my security check went so smooth at the new terminal 2 at LAX. Looking forward to my flight back on June 15."

Cons: "I am only 158cm tall (5 feet 2 inches) and I had no leg room! My knees hit the seat in front of me. The seats were also so narrow that you could not change position at all, so it was very uncomfortable for a 8.5 hour flight. And I weigh less than 45 kg (100lbs). I can't imagine how anyone bigger than me felt. My seat was toward the back of the plane, and it took the crew over an hour to reach us once they started the drink and food carts. One time my row got entirely skipped for the drink cart, even though we were awake. This was a problem because they didn't come by for another 5.5 hours with more water/drinks, and they did not give us water bottles for that time period like Delta does. The food wasn't tasty, but it was eatable. The movie options were great, but that was all I could do on the screen because half of mine did not respond to touch, which meant no games and I could only select movies on the left half of my screen. Weird."

Cons: "There was no update on the status of our connecting flight. The pilot gave an update of other flights except for ours but it caused a bit of confusion. Some people even had to missed there flights altogether! Lufthansa, from the 4 times I have flown with them always seems to be late with no sense of urgency. Ultimately after arriving in Venice, I get an email that my bags did not make it, yet I was told by the boarding agent that the plane was still loading our bags."

Cons: "I checked my one small siitcase which easily fitsin the overhead binas the ticket agent told me it was a full flight and thus required. My hand luggage was my handbag. The flight was actually 2/3 full with plenty of empty seats and empty bin space. Most passengers had 2pieves of hand luggage. So I had to wait for luggage at the end of the flight when I could have easily stored it overhead."

And it took them over an hour to reroute my flight!"

Cons: "No gluten-free food when they served the food. They said that they didn't serve gluten-free food on short flights, but this was two and a half hours. Also, I had asked for a gluten-free meal when I booked my flight. Not good in today's world, when quite a few people have to eat gluten-free. (I am a medical doctor.)"

Pros: "The flight started with a visit in the recently renovated KLM crown lounge in Amsterdam airport. I liked the various seating options and of course the upstairs bar. The service on board was attentive and efficient, the food options I really liked (especially the Chinese dish) but also the little touches like the nuts & gouda cheese which were served in small porcelain bowls. The seat itself was very comfortable when sitting and the structure gives a lot of privacy. However for couples or friends travelling it's a bit cumbersome to have a conversation even when sitting in seats next to each other. Overall my expectations were fulfilled."
Cons: "This seat is not ideal for sleeping for taller persons (I'm 185cm tall) as the space to put the feet is very narrow and it's uncomfortable when lying on the back (as one cannot put them in the natural resting position). Cabin temperature could have been a bit lower for my taste. Crew needs better training with regards to transfer procedure in Chengdu."

My poor rating was because the luggage handling was really poor. Lots of flights from Paris to Amsterdam (almost hourly), but my bag showed up 12 hours later. My wife's bag took 36 hours. And yes, we checked in together. There were lots of confusing messages"

Bonus points for the Beemster cheese sandwich (I was totally disappointed when they served the food, but more than pleasantly surprised by the quality of the cheese - I even bought some afterwards, from the Albert Heijn just outside the security area)."
Cons: "Very odd queue separation at boarding. Passengers were divided in 5 lanes, depending on their seating area withing the plane (for a more efficient boarding, I presume) but, by the time we all got to the actual aircraft, we formed another queue in the boarding bridge so it didn't feel like any time was saved or anything."

I spent over 90 mins waiting to drop my bag and then had to sprint through the airport to get my flight. Thankfully the rest of the airport is very efficient."

We are hopeful the bags will arrive before we leave."

Cons: "Upon arriving in Iceland 3 hours late, when asked what we needed to do about our connecting flights and were told to check with the airline's service desk. They didn't bother letting those of us continuing on to Glasgow know we needn't disembark since the plane we were on was the aircraft for that flight. Every passenger disembarked and then had to be paged. That connecting flight was to have left over 3 hours before and yet no one could tell us why the schedule had the connecting flight still listed as "Final Call." We were paged and then told we had to run to catch the plane. We literally sprinted through the terminal. The attendant who scanned our boarding passes was just this side of rude. And everyone on the airplane was mad at us. The flight attendants wouldn't even answer our call button when we needed to ask a question about the UK Landing Form. The flight was already delayed. Had the airlines made any effort to be helpful or attend to their customers needs, they would have announced we needn't leave the aircraft. Worse flight I've been on. I wish I hadn't already paid for or I'd not take the return flights home."

I could go on, but, will deal with Icelandair themselves. It's probably the last time I'll book them, they used to be so good, I'm so disappointed."

Cons: "ZERO STARS 4 hour delay with no explanation. Kiosk said to notify if more than two hour delay for compensation. I notified them and they gave me a haste about a meal voucher. I spoke with a fellow delayed traveler and suggested he get a voucher too. He came back empty handed. I asked what happened, he said, "they have not compensated anyone." I then inquired with the service agent asking, "how did I get one then?" I gave them my confirmation number and the agent said, "they have no record of a voucher being given out." I said to her, "you didn't even type the number in!!! She lied directly to my face! I said, "you give out 22000 Krona and keep no records?" I said I had I already received one and this gentleman deserves to eat as well. After they spoke back and forth, again, they reluctantly gave him one too. 3 minutes later, there was an announcement that meal vouchers were available for all passengers of flight FI430. I subsequently contacted customer service by email about this and have yet to hear back, I doubt I will. DO NOT LIE TO ME OR 150+ OTHER PEOPLE. Unacceptable and unprofessional to say the least."

Pros: "The whole process was polite and efficient. Entertainment (which can make the flight go by so much faster) worked flawlessly. The planes for all 4 of my flights were late vintage with firm seats (US carriers are stretching out the time to replace seat cushions until they are completely formless), shaped correctly (for lumbar support - big deal if your in a ancient US carrier seat for 5+ hours) and mid size capacity (less people means getting on/off and using the facilities is just a little faster)."
Cons: "Just me - I would like a wider selection of "cheese tray/tapas" items. To offset the relatively low cost of the tickets the flight crew is forced to push merchandise and their travel clubs which is a small inconvenience (in English and Icelandic). The intercom was so quiet as to be partially incomprehensible (a blessing unless you actually need to hear something). When booking, I would have really considered a no additional cost layover in Iceland had I known about it - hard to believe I'm asking for another sales pitch but its true."

Glasgow airport staff fantastic - a lady staff member noticed my daughter and I were loaded down with luggage (daughter had her and toddler son's things in two big stow cases and some carry-ons since moving there for at least 1 year) and had a stroller and busy toddler to get from baggage claim to taxi area. She was an angel and got a luggage trolley, loaded it and even took the trolley to the taxi area while daughter and I took stroller, toddler and a couple carry ons."

Upon arrival the flight that was due to leave in 45 minutes (if on schedule), wasn't even shown on the board, causing panic and confusion. When we did learn that the flight was delayed and it showed up on the departure board, we settled in for a long wait. As what should have been boarding time arrived, no announcements were made, and we ended up queuing for almost an hour before the flight finally departed 30 minutes later than the delayed time. Biggest gripe? No announcements were made acknowledging the delay, providing realistic expectations, or giving us updates regarding new departure times."

Cons: "First flight --My seat was really uncomfortable. When the fellow in front of me moved his seat back, it pushed me into an uncomfortable position that could be rectified by pushing my seat back."

Cons: "The Reykjavik airport is simply too small for the number of flights they have. Most planes can't come to a gate, and there were nowhere near enough busses shuttling passengers to the planes. As a result, it took 90 minutes to board the plane, and an additional 70 minutes after boarding to get a runway to take off. We made up some time in the air so we were only an hour late, but it seemed avoidable if the airport would be more realistic about its capacity."

Cons: "My flight from ORD to Reykjavik was delayed and so I missed my connection to Glasgow. I was rerouted to Amsterdam and got to Glasgow 7 hours after my original flight. Needless to say my luggage did not make it to Glasgow. I arrived in Glasgow on June 14th and did not receive my luggage until the evening of June 17th only because I went to the airport to pick it up myself instead of waiting for it to be delivered on the 18th. Four days of my 12 days of vacation were spent on the phone tracking down my luggage and worrying about whether I'd ever see it again."

Then they tell us the previous person should have had us fill out the online form. All very frustrating."

Pros: "Again the fact that the first two pieces of checked luggage are free is good, unless..."
Cons: "...of course, they lose your checked luggage. :) The DID find it the same day and promised to deliver it the following day, but it's a good thing I packed an extra day's worth of clothes in my carry-on. Combine that with the fact that we sat in the plane on the tarmac for an extra 20 minutes waiting to takeoff because they were waiting for another flight to arrive so they could transfer bags from that flight toour plane!"
