Cons: "Everything could have been better. Flight delayed 3 hours due to JetBlue schedule mismanagement. No consideration for elderly when we had to change gates across airport. Poor communication on flight updates. And then as a perk to make up for delays, tried to sell us a credit card. Just Awful."
Pros: "Very good"
Pros: "The seat wasn’t bad. Not too tight of course I’m only 5 feet tall. Enough leg room for me."
Cons: "I’m not sure if it would improve boarding time, but maybe calling the people at the end of the plane first to starting boarding until the front of the plane gets called last."
Cons: "Left very late because of delayed inbound flight and need for deicing."
Pros: "Clean planes nice staf..over all good"
Cons: "Best airline"

Pros: "All attention very well."
Cons: "Up date, the movie."
Cons: "My first flight was delayed an hour due to pilot error (we left the gate on time, but sat on the tarmac for an hour). This caused me to miss my connecting flight, which stranded me at JFK because they only had one flight per day to my destination. JetBlue's customer service told me I could not reach my destination until the next day, which was unacceptable (I had a morning interview). In fact, the only thing they said they could do was *PARTIALLY* refund my ticket, even though they stranded me in a completely different city. They also said I would "be able to" book a new flight with a different carrier, which cost roughly $400, using my own money. In the end, I spent about an hour talking with customer service until they were "nice enough" to do a partial refund with an additional credit equaling the remainder of my $400 ticket to fly with them in the future. It was still a very poor interaction with customer service."
Cons: "The cabin crew was a little lacking and the captain did not mentioned that we had landed almost a full hour later than scheduled."
Pros: "Pilot’s smooth take off and landing."
Cons: "The weather haha."
Pros: "I liked that the pilot was able to make up some time because our flight was delayed over one hour in Chicago."
Cons: "The notification that the flight was boarding early. I enabled notifications and still did not receive notification that the plane was boarding."
Pros: "Flight was delayed 30 minutes at takeoff but landed when it was scheduled, so it was fine. Flight attendants didn’t make you stay in your seat, so you could use the lavatory. A fine, uneventful flight. Free WiFi. Snacks. Drinks. Fairly comfortable seats with decent legroom."
Cons: "Wish the seats in front of the emergency exit reclined."
Pros: "The crew was unfailing cheerful and helpful. The seats are comfortable and there’s a little more space than some airlines. The fight and particularly the landing was very smooth. Great experience!"
Pros: "I appreciate that they let families with strollers board after Group A, there seems to be more space than the major carriers, and the snacks are good!"
Cons: "My Satellite XM radio didn’t seem to be working."
Pros: "Turbulence, wait time before landing and staying still for long periods on bothends"
Pros: "This flight is 3 + hours delayed, and I think it’s because Jet Blue didn’t have a full flight for the 8:30 am departure, this is unacceptable and I need to be compensated for my time Winston White"
Cons: "This flight is 3 + hours delayed, and I think it’s because Jet Blue didn’t have a full flight for the 8:30 am departure, this is unacceptable and I need to be compensated for my time Winston White"
Pros: "The crew talked a big game. They were ready for anything, including loss of cabin pressure, paid snacks, and even a water landing."
Cons: "No water landing! I was excited to float around on a hot day, go down an awesome slide, and catch some sick waves, but come on people, we never even got a chance!"
Cons: "could not make it in time. Then we got on plane and pilot said it was an electrical problem on the flight but the generators were now up and at em again. Very hair raising ride for me - got in at 2:30 am with another hour to drive home - and I lost a LOT of confidence which I have always had in Jet Blue. I hope this is not the future we can expect with you"
Pros: "How easy it was to board"
Cons: "When I asked if there was any chance I could sit with my family they were nice enough to change are setting. Just a thought if the setting is random when you check in for your flight somewhere the computer should at least work with putting the last names together just a thought."
Pros: "The flight itself was excellent. Little turbulence"
Cons: "Delayed flight and little info and communication. To the point where all the passengers were told of change of gate from 19 to gate 6. To then, the personnel realize it was indeed 19. This at 2AM with people in wheelchairs and parents with infants. Terrible. Boarding was also a fiasco. Personnel checking in carry ons at the entrance to the plane and also inside. Terrible!"
Pros: "Entertainment, food, crew, and cleanliness were 100000% on point. Loved it."
Cons: "Turbulence and the flight was longer than necessary because we had to go around bad weather. Not the fault of JetBlue!"
Pros: "Cheerful, efficient service. No hidden costs. Free gate to gate WiFi. Comfortable seats. Never flown them before and they are now at the top of my list."
Cons: "Nothing yet."
Pros: "The seats were comfortable."
Cons: "Flight was very late leaving Chicago. We sat on the plane for quite a while (over 30 min) shut up tight with little air circulation AND no information about why we were not leaving the gate. Flight crew were not very friendly - almost "marched" up and down the aisle and barked at people."
Pros: "Adequate leg room and ability to take a carry on we if your extra charge"
Pros: "Easy boarding, friendly staff, nice choice of snacks and beverages. The JetBlue app is very useful."
Cons: "My in flight entertainment never worked. All I had available to look at was the JetBlue commercial channel showing me all of the entertainment I wasn’t able to watch. Not even the live view map worked. One of the attendants said something about resetting the system but I didn’t notice a change. I said something to one of the attendants a little later and she tried doing a reset again, but still no success. I could see other screens working fine and people were watching various programs while I just stared at a static map of the continental United States. Oh well, at least I was able to stream Netflix because of the free inflight WiFi."
Cons: "The flight was delayed and we would have missed our connection in NYC. So we had to cancel the trip."
Pros: "Flight was on time and there is more room on jet blue than united. Flight even arrived early"
Cons: "my flight was delayed for 2 hours and there was no compensation for it"
Cons: "When I scanned my boarding pass the Jetblue staff member told me my carry on was too big and had to be checked. This was puzzling to me because I travel often and do not have a problem with that bag. As I was sitting on the plane I saw everyone's bag's were bigger especially the man next to me. His was significantly larger and he had a large duffle bag between his legs causing him to manspread into my area. and yet i was told "make sure your purse is under the seat" seriously?! What about his giant duffle bag and huge carry on roller?!"
Pros: "The only good things about this flight were: - The crew at the gate were very friendly and attentive - We arrived safely without incident"
Cons: "We were delayed 2 times before boarding. We were delayed 1 more time while on the plane. The pilot told us there was equipment trouble that had been fixed, but there was paperwork to fill out and it would only be a few minutes...and then radio silence for 30 minutes before pulling back. The flight attendants rushed through the pre-flight announcents and I could only understand about 60% of it due to speed, volume and accent. Despite asking me for my drink order, it never came...and I only heard a few soda cans pop open at all. Did they just decide not to serve us? She even gave me a napkin for it. Luckily when they put the snack basket in front of me, there was a tiny bottle of water, which I grabbed...little did I know, that was all I would get. The flight attendants were just tapping in the back of the plane the rest of the flight. They didn’t even bother collecting garbage until we were on final approach. They also never did the normal checks before landing."
Cons: "flight was delayed 2 hours :("
Pros: "Crew was happy and friendly"
Cons: "Can’t think of anything"
Pros: "They refund me the money"
Cons: "I almost lost my international connection, had to pay double to get my destination on time"
Pros: "Exactly as scheduled"
Pros: "Extra leg room"
Cons: "On both legs of our vacation, going and coming we experienced long delays , 2 hours Boston.to Vhicago and 3 hours Chicago to Boston"
Pros: "This was my first time with JetBlue and I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the plane. It was pretty comfortable"
Pros: "Friendly staff and the on board entertainment and snacks"
Cons: "The last time I took JetBlue the flight was delayed by almost 3 hours"
Pros: "I Enjoy Every Moment In Puerto Rico La Parguera En El Pueblo De Lajas , La Guancha En Ponce, Playa Crashboard En Aguadilla, El Faro En Rincon ,Playa Jobos En Isabela,Balneario De Boquerón En Cabo Rojo Me Encantan Las Playas El Agua Es Tan Clara Y La Arena Blanca ,Las Gente Es Muy Servicial."
Cons: "No Tener Más Días Para Seguir Disfrutando. I Love My Island Is Beatiful."
Pros: "From the start to the end nice right no problems at all thank you"
Pros: "the plane was good!"
Cons: "the plane boarded late"
Pros: "Flight was quick and easy"
Cons: "Seats are small. Luckily the flight is short bit for anything longer than one hour I do not recommend this aircraft"
Cons: "Flight attendants passing out drinks completely skipped us, even though we were looking right at her."
Cons: "Multiple people on flight not wearing masks"
Pros: "Nothing . Flight was cancelled"
Cons: "Refund my money!"
Pros: "The crew, the food and entertainment."
Cons: "Comfort in the seat."
Cons: "Engine was super loud on takeoff - to the point where passengers were looking around worried that something wasn't right. Eventually it seemed to be switched off once we hit the clouds and we seemed to sort of coast quietly for a minute or so - also alarming to everyone judging by the non-verbal behavior that suddenly everyone was exhibiting. Then it came back on again but only at half the volume. Nothing was mentioned about it by the captain or crew so I spent the rest of the flight wondering if the engine was going to give out part way through the flight."
Cons: "Kayak sent me a message that our connecting flight out of O'Hare was boarding at gate B5. However, checking the monitors in the terminal showed the correct gate was B21, which is on the opposite end of the terminal. I don't know why Kayak had the wrong information on this. We barely made our connecting flight because our starting flight was over 30 minutes late, which was United's fault. This made rushing to the correct gate for our connecting flight all the more stressful. No time to stop at the bathrooms or pick up something to eat. Both United and Kayak let me down on getting back to Hartford. We arrived at the end of boarding with no room left for our bags in the overheads so we had to check them and pick them up at the carousel. A totally BAD flight experience."
Cons: "Placed in middle seat with no options for isle or window due to my ticket. No problem with that if the people next to me were not so big. Young woman to my left by window was tall and broad and slept but took up all elbow and shoulder space. Guy to my right was very obese, sweaty so kept wiping his neck, head, and face with a cloth. Also had terrible body odor. I spent the entire flight in a narrow middle seat, hunching my shoulders due to lack of space. Both people taking up some of what little room I had."
Pros: "United Airlines Flight 202 Left on time. It was a Boeing 777 so it had a lot of room."
Cons: "The flight attendants seemed focused only on the small First Class section and rushed through everything in the Economy Class. They rushed through the "Food Service" and didn't want to answer questions about what is on their menu. The menu was removed from the magazines in our row. Fortunately, we brought our own snacks. The Economy CLass cabin had a terrible odor. It really smelled. Maybe they should clean the plane once in a while. United Airlines ALWAYS has issues with entertainment. You MUST download their App to your cell phone. Then, they allow you to connect to their entertainment system. If you don't, you cannot access WiFi without paying $26 for the flight ... the WiFi access is inconsistent and limiting and doesn't always work so the download doesn't always complete. This was a nine hour flight from Hell. I think I prefer Frontier Airlines. Although the airlines make you pay for everything now, at least you expect some attention and food options and a plane that doesn't smell. It was nauseating. Don't even ask me about the "Miles" that they keep screwing up ... RAY HANANIA"
Cons: "I was exiting your airplane bathroom and my wife was entering when the flight attendant placed her arm in front of my wife and said, “I’m sorry but I’m working so that means I have dibs on this bathroom.” She then entered the bathroom and shut the door on my wife’s face. I was furious and speechless to witness such frank rude behavior and horrible customer service. I would like to think that United Airlines prides itself on better customer service than this. My wife and I have other choices when we fly and we will certainly think twice before we fly United Airlines again."
Pros: "There were extra seats due to few passengers. We were very timely in leaving and landing. The dinner was good. I had pasta with spinich and a red and white sause. Very tasty and hot. They came around with plenty of water. The ticket price was very reasonable."
Cons: "This flight was on United. So, there was no internet to purchase as the emails from Lufthansa claimed there would be. I woke up in the middle of the night and went to 3 open seats and laid across them. It was dark and I did not realize that I had moved to Economy Plus. The flight attendant told me that I should not have been there, that she could have charged me for the difference in the seat. Prior to this I felt pretty good about the flight. There was no reason for her to treat me that way. It was apparent that it was a mistake and not done purposely."
Cons: "The flight from Chicago to Moline was delayed over 3 hours due to an engine issue. We were delayed to board, then once we were boarded, we sat on a cold airplane for over 30 minutes in sub-zero temperatures in Chicago. Maintenance was called to start the engines externally but the starter machine wouldn't work. Finally, we were made to de-plane. We sat for over 30 minutes waiting on information. Never received meal vouchers. No snacks or water was given during the wait. The steward was very nice and helpful but the gate agent was horrible. She seemed "inconvenienced" when you went to ask her questions."
Cons: "The flight staff was rude, the wrong gas was put in the plane causing a delay, I missed my connection because of this where they wrote it was delayed because "it was snowing in Savannah" which was a blatant lie, but made it so they did not have to help me in any way since their delay was "weather" related. They could not get my to my destination until noon the next day which forced me to buy a new flight on Alaska air. My flight on Alaska was absolutely fantastic and I regret ever buying any United flight and will not in the future."
Cons: "Our plane was defective so had to be replaced. This is fine, I certainly am willing to wait for a new plane if it means not blowing up over the ocean. The problem was how little the attendants at the gate communicated the situation to us. What should have been a brief layover became a 12 hour nightmare. The gate attendants did finally issue meal vouchers but they waited until 10 minutes before all the restaurants closed and only issued $10 a person. This is enough to buy a hot dog at an airport... We were told there wouldn't be any rescheduling of missed connections until we were "airborne". This resulted in mass panic and confusion upon reaching our destination. We were told to go to the service desk, half an airport away, but once the entire passenger contents of the plane arrived at that far flung service desk, we were mostly turned away to seek help at individual gates. This lack of communication meant I missed the next next available connecting flight and now have a further six hour layover. I understand accidents happen and planes can break down but the nearly complete lack of care and customer attention is, frankly, disappointing. I've now had nearly an entire day added to my travel time. If I'd been willing to loose that time I would have paid $600 less for my ticket. United finally offered a token of their appreciation : a $100 e-voucher. I have spent more than that on food and coffee in airports for the past two days while trying to survive until my next connections."
Pros: "crew was nice"
Cons: "I feel like airlines are becoming like used cars salesmen. High price ticket, then 25$ to check a bag, they give you direct tv as a preview and then make you pay to watch TV, pay for internet, want something other then pretzels, you have to pay for that too. Next up you will charge for our air conditioners to work which by the way they didn't. I have never been so uncomfortable on a flight in my life. Couldn't even bend down to get something under my seat because of the lack of space between rows. Also the air conditioner was extremely warm and the pressure of the air did not reach the seat. I was sticking to the chair because it was so warm. It just sucks that air travel has gone the way of every other industry that values quantity over quality."
Pros: "The flight from Frankfurt to Chicago arrived late, had to collect bags and clear customs which delayed transfer, had to go from one end of the airport to the other on a train which operated very slow which delayed transfer, had to then clear TSA security checks which were very slow and again delayed transfer. Moving at the max speed we were capable of, we arrived at the opposite end of the airport too late to board and were left behind. United was not very sympathetic, although provided ticket for next morning flight. The entire experience was very disappointing following what was a decent tour of Italy."
Pros: "The only reason they have two stars instead of one is that the flight crew was good, and flight in general was ok. Also United service counter went above and beyond to help me with my situation, and I am grateful that they were able to rebook me on a new flight and check in my luggage without issues."
Cons: "There was no one at SAS service counter... I had to Google my flight number to find out that I actually had to check in with United since it was actually a United operated flight. Why was I not informed beforehand?? My itinerary said that this is SAS flight, how was I supposed to know that i was supposed to go to United?? Because there was no one at SAS counter, I had no one to ask, I ended up waiting for the counter to open for an hour. When I found out I had to go to United, it was already too late for me to check in so I ended up missing my flight. Thank god for the agent at United however, who helped me rebook my flight and check in my luggage."
Pros: "Economy Basic check-in was easier than I'd expected it to be, security was quick and seamless. Once on board the aircraft, the flight crew kept us informed about possible weather issues (e.g. turbulence), including the approximate time to expect it, how long it might last, and that it would probably preclude in-flight beverage service. Flight attendants offered to provide one-at-a-time beverage service to those "really in need of a drink." I thought that was pretty gracious under the circumstances, and was happy to see that passengers didn't take advantage of the option :-). Looks like United is doing its best to counteract its recent negative publicity. Well done!"
Pros: "Helpful finding next flight worried can my son it UN traveled and is in a standby I pray he gets on this flight I am really worried. If he does he will arrive at 11:45 pm if not .... I have no clue he is so young and scARED TRACING ACROSS THE Whole country. For mistakes beyond his control saying prayers."
Cons: "I was tied to go tailgate 10 like my paper said they switched flights to gate 15 missed flight had to wait 7 extra hours flying Into Chicago and have a priority stand by pass from Chicago to Knoxville. I need to be on this flight so bad. If I dont make it i have no clue what i will Do. I need to keep my stress down and just prY i get on this flight which would have me i. Knox about 11:30 pm if not i have no clue what to do.the United Team we have talked to have been nice they just can't confirm my Chigaco flight to Knoxvile and i have 31 min. Once plane lands to get to other boarder term and Al."
Pros: "People were courteous as expected but as usual the 1st class took precedence. Big deal they pay extra for what, not to eat 1 ounce snack foods and cans of soda."
Cons: "The room and the food was horrible. Seems like every time I take a flight people get stuffed into planes like sardines. Also the food selection was nonexistent. There was not enough qty for each person on the flight and the food choices are subpar and very expensive. If u ask me with the exorbant cost of flight to include now the cost to bring luggage is horrible. What happened to the days when airlines actually cared for their customers. I guess those days are long gone. I have been in he military over 17 years and not once have I received a courtesy upgrade to 1st class and I have flew over the world. Guess it's all about the money. And have to pay for entertainment....go figure and why isn't there outlets on every seta in every row. Is that too much to ask!"
Pros: "Flight was short."
Cons: "I was not informed about the delay until after I checked my bag, otherwise I might have chosen another flight. I was informed that though I could possibly change flights, my bag might not. I have the UA app, and did not receive timely notification. Free WIFI would have been nice as a compensation. A 4 hour delay means I miss my bus and extends my travel time significantly, one more night away from home. You did offer $50 of mt next UA flight for the next year, but I don't fly that often. Considering the reason for the delay was they were waiting for a plane was frustrating."
Pros: "The fact that we got there safely."
Cons: "Took them 90 minutes to fix a seat belt because they kept bringing the wrong part. They got it right the third try. The cabin crew sat in the back and chatted for an hour while we sat at gate. Not even a glass of water offered. Then we were diverted to Pittsburg because of weather and sat for an hour. Again no water offered. So on 5 plus hour flight crew went around once. The final straw was they blamed weather for the delay when in fact it was not being able to find the correct seat belt in due time."
Pros: "The flight crew seemed worn and a bit surly. They ran out of two of the meals and the one I got was oddly seasoned but it was warm. We sat on the ground quite a while while they fixed the PA system with no water then there was a women they'd let on the flight even though she had a different destination - supposedly they spent an hour looking for her bag on the plane. Do you hold up a whole plane load of people that got on the right plane for the woman that didn't and how come when they checked her ticket - no one noticed?"
Pros: "Staff at airport and cabin crew were mostly nice. At airport, the ticket agent helped correct a mistake and was very helpful."
Cons: "There are TVs on the backs of chairs where they advertise that you can pay to watch shows or movies and play the safety video. That would be fine if you could just turn it off once that's done. But it was too hard to turn off, and after the safety video, they played three ads (you couldn't turn the ads off). At the end of the flight the tvs camenon again. It was also a night time flight - how can you sleep with the screen on. Also, the seat space seemed smaller than usual so the screen was in my face. I hated this flight."
Pros: "The crew was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Water and drinks were offered regularly. For those who had the app there was inflight entertainment. We paid for plus size seats and had enough leg room."
Cons: "I believe that on the long flights built in entertainment screens should be standard. Most people did not have the app and many spent 8.5 hours without anything to do. Food is not offered on this long flight unless you pay for it. You must walk to the very back of the plane where the food is in warmers. I got a hamburger and it was a bit dried out. Could have been worse...just hard to handle since tomato, lettuce and condiments were on the side. A larger person sat next to me and took use of the armrest between us which made me feel like I lost 4 inches of my personal space."
Pros: "Seat assignment"
Cons: "I'm not a pilot but I've flown enough to know what turbulence is. I was one of the first to board and asked the flight attendant if there was food for purchase or any type of snack as my blood sugar was so low. I was also in pain and needed to take my medication. It was a 40+ minute flight however when one is handicapped you are at the mercy of the person taking you to the gate it's not like you can stop and look for a place to eat. It wasn't until we were almost at the destination we received a plastic cup and offered a sip of water. I sat right in front of the flight attendant and she could see my discomfort yet didn't offer a bag of peanuts or a drink"
Pros: "The older planes of United Airlines could use some remodeling. The entertainment system with controls in the middle of the arm rest where the elbow rests is such a bad idea, didn't even bother with this crappy unintuitive system. It was annoying and flashy with bright advertisements or something popping up on a night time flight just sooooooo annoying, turning it off was not intuitive and had to ask the flight attendants how to turn it off during their very busy work of handing out packages with five miniature pretzels and drinks to the passengers, was happy to get a whole cab of juice to myself though."
Pros: "The crew did what they could and we're professional and curious, but there wasn't a ton to like about this flight"
Cons: "The flight was delayed. Ok, that happens sometimes and it annoying but part of air travel. The real kicker was that once we were on the airplane, they announced that seatback entertainment and wifi were not working, so there was no entertainment on the 4hr+ flight. Additionally, because the seatback entertainment wasn't working, the ability to control your own reading light was disabled, so the cabin lights were left on the entire late-night flight, making sleeping quite difficult. I understand that sometimes these things happen, but there are ways to mitigate- the gate agent could've told us that there would be no seat back entertainment while we were waiting at the gate delayed so we could've downloaded something, but they chose not to for reasons I can only hypothesize. Combine all this with the terrible 3-4-3 seat configuration and you're left with a terrible experience. Will never take this particular flight from Chicago again. It was cramped and one of the worst flights I've taken in recent memory."
Pros: "I loved how easy it was to book the flight."
Cons: "I cancelled my flight within 24hrs and received no refund because I booked through priceline. However, there was no restriction or clause listed on the ticket stating that I had to cancel through priceline also. It really should not matter who I cancelled through, if I canceled within 24hrs the refund should be given. Also, the debits from my account said United as well as priceline taking me to United's web page to make the purchase. So of course one would think cancelling through United's site is appropriate. I'm very disappointed in United and will consider all other options (Airlines) before booking with them again. PS - United customer gave me the run around for 3 days knowing that it was their policy and they were the company who's keeping my money. Absolutely ridiculous."
Pros: "I liked the new, immaculately clean plane that appeared to have more leg room between seats, which also appeared to recline more than my recent United Flights. Other rows appeared to be quite comfortable. I don't like the only flight options into Aquadilla to be so late at night. There is enough of a demand into and out of this airport to have at least a few daytime flights."
Cons: "After having changed my seat and choosing the last row, I realized that those seats had been squashed into the remaining space in the cabin. It did not allow for as much leg room as other seats and being the last row, the seats did not incline. My own fault for selecting this row however, I wish it had been mentioned when I made the selection. Also, the entertainment was only available through an APP on one's Smart Phone. This assumes everyone has a smart phone, the correct plan and the knowledge to use said app. Too much reliance on technology when the "old way" worked just fine for more customers. The Crew was fantastic......very accommodating without being over bearing."
Cons: "This airline is so beyond awful. American has the most janky planes, uncomfortable seats, and worst service on the plane. I had to beg the flight attendant to get me a wine because I was asleep when they came by and missed them by not even a half hour... She acted like it was so hard and it took asking 4 times and finally just asking another person. I was so annoyed. They also have shitty food selections per usual. Who chooses those snack items?! They clearly have no taste. I was miserable the whole flight. I usually am not a miserable traveler so this isn't just me being negative, I seriously may write one review every few months, only if something is really good or really bad. The fact that I'm even taking the time to write this says a lot!!!"
Cons: "I had a flight from Los Angeles to Cleveland with a stop in Chicago on December 29, 2016; however, both flights were delayed. I am contacting customer care for compensation due to a severe delay for the departure and arrival for my flight from Chicago to Cleveland (Flight 786). I also wanted to report a very disappointing experience with the representatives at 1-800-864-8331. I was supposed to arrive at Cleveland, OH (CLE) on December 29, 2016 by 7:30 PM. However, it was closer to 11:20 PM when we finally arrived. The flight was delayed over an hour for departure when they announced the plane was not even ready and present at the gate. Due to this delay, we were not able to land on Cleveland, OH (CLE) because of snow on the runway. We circled Cleveland for roughly 40 minutes and then got redirected to the Detroit. We would've avoided the snow if the flight departed on time since the snow did not hit Cleveland until the delayed flight was airborne. We then landed in Detroit and spent another hour and a half in Detroit. At this time, I called the representatives at United and requested a refund. The representative completely understood my situation and said I would be refunded the full amount to my original payment method. She also assured me that I did not need a case number and that other representatives would be able to look up this information through my confirmation number. This was not the case when I contacted United again to see the progress on the refund. They said there were no annotations and that they could not provide a refund. They advised me that the previous representative had lied to me. While the flight experience caused me to miss the rehearsal dinner and bachelor party for a close friend I served with in the Army and almost caused me to miss the wedding, I feel very cheated and trashed for being lied to by your employees regarding my refund and its validity. This experience has left a very bad taste regarding United Airline's integrity and values."
Cons: "My flight was delayed by an hour and a half. That's the amount of time I could have spent to drive home to Milwaukee. I stuck around because there was no indication of a flight cancellation. I would rather hop on a 15-30min flight than go through the hassle of renting a car. BUT the flight did get canceled, the next flight was completely booked and the next flight out after that was at NIGHT. I arrived in Chicago in the morning. The gate agent told us all to head to United customer service. There I received RUDE, poor excuse of a "service" only to be told they don't give refunds at the counter as we were told by the gate agent. So do that on your own time. THEN I had to buy my bus ticket and spend 1.5-2hrs on top of already waiting 1.5hrs for the flight that got canceled. HORRIBLE. Will never fly United again. Did i mention upon my arrival home I found out American was WIDE open seat wise to chicago?? And no one checked for me!"
Cons: "Delay and then having to change gates - at O"Hare that means walking and walking some more !! After being insulted during check in. The RUDE woman (poor English) with assisted boarding then the RUDE man that changed my name and my luggage he chose to send to Dayton OH -never been there in my life and he "dug" thru my luggage - as if he was searching for MONEY or GOLD -he pulled out a protein drink and I asked him to hand that to me so I could drink it as I am a diabetic - he shouted at me "I THROW AWAY'. During the two hour delay I could have used it !! Poor service I will fly American from now on !!!!!!!!!!!"
Pros: "-Complimentary Snack and beverage -Can pick your seats when booking -Changing Tables in restrooms -Entertainment options -Early boarding for families with small children"
Cons: "-Free Soda but charged for water -Had confirmed seats but then our party with 2 toddlers got split up -Semi convenient( rather small could hardly fit a 1 year old) changing table but then flight attendants threw a fit when a stinky diaper was changed in there. -Had to have special programs on device to even play anything, thought I had everything on for return flight to watch movies but nope still needed something extra Wifi only works for United App and Website -Waiting in the shorter line to preboard with our 2 toddlers only to be cut off by a Global Travel Program(?) family with 15+ people"
Pros: "Arriving safely at home."
Cons: "Our gate was changed multiple times with absolutely terrible communication. The computer system had gone yet and everything seems extremely disorganized. There were even flyers getting on the plane to TX when they were traveling to other destinations because of the lack of communication and the crew not throughly checking. The seating was the smallest space in all of the other airlines I have flown. The crew was less than friendly and yelling down the aisle about buying snacks and other drinks although it was a late night flight and many people were sleeping. Overall, it was an uncomfortable and frustrating experience. Luckily the flight crew had a smooth flight and got us safely to San Antonio. Only positive about the experience with United. This was all taking place along with our flight being delayed with out the monitors at the airport being updated and no notification via text or the United app."
Cons: "The difference in entertainment options between different United flights is frustrating. Unlike some flights, which offer a bunch of free movies and shows you can watch on your phone or tablet, this flight offered a small selection of movies I could pay $8 for access to, which started at pre-determined times so you might pay for them and not even be able to catch the movie from the beginning. My original flight offered an outlet to charge my phone and a fairly large selection of free movies, so I watched 3 movies and the time went by quickly. My return flight did have an outlet, but I didn't want to pay for a bad selection of movies that I couldn't pause or start from the beginning, so it felt like a much longer flight."
Cons: "We were connecting to this flight after flying in from Rome. Initially we were scheduled for an 8:30pm flight, but after landing early asked if we could change to an earlier flight. They graciously bumped us up to a 7:30pm flight, which trimmed our 4-hour layover down to 3pm. Cut to 6:15pm...we find out that the flight is not delayed AN HOUR due to a "late inbound flight." Long story short, the 7:30pm flight ended up departed later than the 8:30pm flight we were originally scheduled on so we didn't get to LA until after we were originally supposed to!!"
Pros: "I like that we finally made it!! 130a.m."
Cons: "This by far is the worst flight I have ever been on! It's starts off delayed... Fine! They get us on board the plane and we sit and sit without much info being given to ppl on flight! Then we are told there are mechanical issues and it won't b long before we leave... Half hrs goes by and they tell us it will be longer so for us to exit the plane.... Which turned into a 45min wait to finally tell us that we were waiting now on a new pilot to fly in from where ever he was to finally take over our flight , which didn't leave ORD till 1230.... Which was supposed to had left ORD at 930.... We finally get to PHX at 130 a.m. When were supposed to originally land n PHX at 930 mountain time! After all of this confusion and just bad manangement of time... We didn't get any apologies any kinda of compensation for time lost... Just a have a gud day! I'm pissed will Never fly with United Airlines and will tell others to also not fly United!"
Cons: "My boarding pass was not scanning which was holding up the line. A second person came over to approve me getting on the plane. That person made me check the size of my carry on bag, which had gotten bigger from some things I purchased in the airport but was just a touch too large for their sizer. She attempted to check the bag meaning I wouldn't have it until my final destination, which I was NOT ok with for two reasons. One was i had a 3 hour layover after this flight and needed work materials inside. The second was i was on a time crunch to get my ride at my final destination and was only traveling with carry on. She was very rude and insitant on it fitting inside the sizer as she stood over me with the tag to check my bag. I managed to take some things out that I moved into my backpack, which meant I had to awkwardly carry my blanket and travel pillow onto the plane. The most frustrating part was when I got on the plane, it was oversized top carryon bins, so the extra inch my bag grew would have been fine. Because of the time it took me to rearrange, i was the last one on the plane and all the bins had been filled with tiny second bags, but a few people on the plane had seen what happened and they rearranged a space for me. Also my video screen was broken and everyone else's worked. And there were two screaming babies around me the whole flight, but that is no one's fault."
Pros: "First of all, the crew was amazing. I had just been traveling for about 20 hours and I had a seat towards the back of the economy section. After traveling that long, I was getting antsy to be at my destination, and I asked the gate agent if she could bump me to a row towards the front of economy- thankfully the plane wasn't full, and she was able to! It's the little things like that, that are what make me fly United. Also, the cabin crew on the flight was great! Of course, the economy section of the plane wasn't an ideal amount of space, but come on- it was an hour flight, and they did a good job of trying to spread people out so that the rows weren't packed."
Cons: "Boarding took a little longer because the plane was being cleaned. I believe they said the overnight flight got in a little late and they still had to clean the plane. We boarded late, but still got to our destination early. Negative turned into a positive- you can't beat that!"
Pros: "The flight itself and the crew were fine."
Cons: "The flight was delayed by weather but still on time for us to make our connection. But boarding was delayed. Finally, the gate agent announced that they were repairing an overhead bin door. This took approximately twice the announced estimated time. Even so, we arrived at the gate with enough time to make the connection, which was 4 gates away. Did the crew ask people to let those with close connections get out first? No. Did the crew or gate agent communicate to other gates that we had arrived? No. We got to our connecting gate 6 minutes before the scheduled departure. They had closed the door and would not board us. Two people from our plane made it to the connection, so they knew we were coming. But 5 of us who were seated a little further back arrived minutes later. We made it onto a later flight. We also adopted an elderly passenger in a wheelchair, who would have been left by himself at the next gate for 3 hours by United if we had not taken him with us. We all got on the next flight, but only with some work."
Pros: "Quick flight."
Cons: "Flight was delayed for 40 minutes because of "paperwork" according to the pilot. We boarded the plane on time however had to sit on it during the delay. We were not informed of what was going on until we had already been waiting for 30 minutes. When they informed us of the delay they offered everyone free direct TV in flight to make up for the delay. Once we finally took off they announced that the direct TV was not actually working. The flight attendant making the announcements was not sincere and rather unprofessional. Luckily the pilot flew fast so we ended up arriving only 10 minutes late."
Pros: "Seating was very nice in Delta select, lots of leg room!!!"
Cons: "There were 3 flight attendants on this flight and two of the three were great. One however was the rudest woman I've ever met. Her favorite word was "no" and she talked down to everyone, including her fellow flight attendants. I really wish I had gotten her name but when I asked her, her response was, "why?" I was so fed yo with her I just said forget it and avoided her. I understand people have bad days but I have a feeling this was more of a personality issue. She acted better than everyone else. It really only takes one person to ruin the whole flight"
Pros: "flight attendants were pleasant. plane was clean"
Cons: "I was stuck with commercials for direct tv, two feet from my face the whole trip. I would push the button to turn tv off but it would come back on less than five minutes latter. I had my head phones in listening to personal device but was still distracting. speaker for announcements were extremely loud. the poor lady next to me would jump and then plug her ears. question, if you are allowed one carry on and one personal bag, why do you only have space for a third of the passengers to stow said bags?"
Pros: "The trip had minimal turbulence. The landing was smooth."
Cons: "-The 767 was old. -It did not have any power ports for my laptop or cell phone. -The interior was old and dated, reminiscent of the 1980's. -The TV screen for entertainment seemed to be smaller than a Samsung Note 5. -The seats are unreasonably narrow and not comfortable. -I had an isle seat and my shoulder width is literally wider than the seats. -Every time the isle cart went by, it hit my left shoulder. -The seats in general seating are too small and were cramped. -God forbid if we had to egress out of the plane. -There were no adjustable head rests, like other airlines have. -The Flight Attendant for my section DID NOT make me feel like I was a valued customer, even though I paid over $1500 for flight. -She scolded me for asking "Why," when she TOLD me that I needed to sit in one seat, even though the seat next to me was vacant. She literally treated me like a child. - NOT COOL. Overall, in comparison to my last international flight, I WOULD NOT recommend United. I feel like I paid too much for my experience with United. Aer Lingus has better/newer aircraft, better cabin crew, better entertainment selections to include music and a selection of movies to watch at your convenience, more comfortable seats, provide a better environment, and a better value for your experience. Aer Lingus was also cheaper. So if you are reading this, please shop around if you are considering United to fly."
Cons: "I am almost always cold. Not so on this flight. The temperature on the plane was so miserably hot that I had sweat pouring down my face. Everyone around me was trying to open their air vents to get more cool air and/or fanning themselves. I asked the flight attendant about it and he said that the plane was just old and it would cool off eventually. It did, about 20 minutes before they cut the air down again for landing. By the time I got off the plane I was nauseated from the heat and stale air. It will be a long time before I fly United again if this is any indication of the condition of their planes."
Pros: "We got lucky and there were two empty seats across the aisle, which happened to have extra leg room, and the one gentleman sitting there, graciously offered to move to the window seat so my husband could sit in the aisle seat. My husband was quite happy that he was able to move just across the aisle from me and have the extra leg room."
Cons: "My husband's original seat had a broken jack for headphones and the only thing they could offer was to switch seats with someone that wasn't going to use theirs. Luckily, the man sitting across the aisle heard what was going on and offered his seat to my husband and the gentleman just moved to the window seat. Paying an extra $118 for basically nothing; it's not very clear before you buy it, what exactly your paying the extra money for. On our return flight, we flew American, and the same thing would have only cost us an extra $42. We had to wait in a ridiculously long security line in Chicago and by the time we got to our terminal, 90% of the passengers were already on the flight or in line to enter the plane and that's what we found out we had paid the extra $118 for."
Pros: "I was incredibly disappointed that my luggage got sent on an earlier flight to Memphis from Chicago. When I arrived in Memphis after 24 hours of flying, I found my luggage locked up and no representative to be found. Exhausted, frustrated, and seeing my luggage through the glass door and not being able to retreave it, I was incredibly frustrated with United. If you are going to send luggage on a different flight, be there and available to let travelers claim their luggage. My entire flight had gotten their bags from baggage claim before I even found someone available to open the door. I had to get an American Airlines representative to call them to the area twice before they arrived. If you are going to do this, offer the traveler to be on the earlier flight too. I was very disappointed, especially after my flight was delayed by 45 minutes on top of it."
Cons: "The poor customer service."
Pros: "I liked having an Aisle seat both ways and I was in an exit row the first flight. I also loved the text alerts from Kayak. Thank you!"
Cons: "United destroyed my luggage and wouldn't pay for their mistake. I checked in the second I could (exactly 24 hours before the flight), and I was still put in boarding group 5. Because I was in boarding group 5, I had to check my back, which would have been carried on, and was subsequently destroyed by United baggage handlers. To try and rectify and complain about the luggage problem, I called United and they were completely unhelpful. Finally, the first flight was delayed and moved to a different plane, that was a total nightmare!"
Pros: "The kindness of the flight attendants"
Cons: "The costumer service at the spirit counter is terrible. Never going to flight with spirit again."
Pros: "They were very good"
Cons: "Our flight was 1.5 hrs late taking off"
Cons: "The professionalism on this flight from the crew was extremely poor. They would make bad jokes about the plane tipping over through the intercom. The crew was rude and very obnoxious constantly telling everyone to sit down when no one was even standing. Please retrain this crew. It’s embarrassing."
Pros: "Flight was fine, landing was fine"
Cons: "Spirit Airlines sucks. The bag they recommend I buy as a free bag, they know arbitrarily call a check bag and charge me for."
Pros: "Boarding was quick Flight was on time"
Cons: "Drunken birthday party on board was never asked to stop whooping and hollering and was actually encouraged by the flight attendant who asked passengers to cheer and yell multiple times. Additionally, when they did not stop drinking their own alcohol after the flight attendants asked all passengers to refrain from doing so due to FAA regulations, nobody asked them specifically to stop. Gate change was not well-communicated, and no audible boarding announcements were made. The gate attendants failed to put any information about the flight or boarding on the gate screen intended for this purpose."
Pros: "Crew was very professional, plane was clean. Ride was smooth."
Cons: "I had overweight passenger next to me who tried his very best to keep his left arm away from me, but when he fell asleep I was squeezed. No fault of Spirit. It was too tight of a seat arraignment. When I went to get my seat from customer service there was a man with luggage that will fit the template for carry on, but the wheels did not allow his suitcase to fit the length. He had to pay for his luggage, I thought the representative should have not charge him. I bought my ticket last minute as it was business trip decided 2 days prior. I chose Spirit for the convenient schedule, never used them before. For the same amount of money a coworker of mine got very convenient flight with no charge for carry on with assigned seats with American. I thinkg the price was not competitive."
Pros: "The Airbus 320 was very new and seating was generous on leg room. Many of the other airlines fly planes that feel old and have cramped seating. This was different and a definite plus. Not having food and beverage service on a short 90 min flight is a big plus! Not at all a negative. You did not have the flight crew hustling down the aisle creating a general sense of congestion. They were very quick up and down the aisle to serve those who wanted to buy something. Thinking about the comparison the thing I hate the most about flying is cramped seating. The second thing I hate is having the darn service carts parked next to me. Spirit solved both of these bits. I just brought my own drink and all was good. I think I get nervous with that tiny plastic glass of ice and some liquid always worried it will spill. Having a bottle with a cap was actually relaxing. I usually ignore the in flight magazine. And many airlines are switching to personal device entertainment so why do I need them to provide it? All in all I ended up being impressed with Spirit even though after the baggage and seating charges I might have spent more than economy on another airline."
Cons: "Unfortunately the gate area is small and two flights were delayed so the off loading and boarding involved 600 people crammed into an already small space. But it is clear that they are good with their boarding process and the gate staff were friendly and tried to keep people informed. The small space is clearly part of the cost saving strategies and under normal circumstances should work fine."
Pros: "Damn cheap. Like 30$ for a flight to Atlanta from Chicago. I mean seriously! But of course pay for everything on the plane. To be expected and also can’t complain. Only reason for 4 stars is because I didn’t want to go to Atlanta. Had to because Of business. So, not a good representation really. Plane looked new. All guys as attendants which was a first. They were cool. And the baby next to me didn’t cry the entire trip which was a complete surprise. Just wish I didn’t get motion sicknesss so easily. Good flight though."
Cons: "I didn’t want to go home."
Cons: "Flight was delayed 50 minutes to begin with and we did get plenty of warning, I got an email in the morning stating my evening flight was delayed 50 minutes so I was prepared. But throughout the day I continued to get emails pushing the departure time back further and by the time I arrived at the airport it was a full 2 hours delayed. SUPER crowded gate area with multiple flights being asked to wait in one area, those flights were either delayed or canceled. Should have known better and paid a bit extra for a more reliable airline!"
Pros: "Not much"
Cons: "My first time flying with Spirit and it started off bad to begin with. First learned that you can't carry on a bag without a $55 per leg fee adding 50% more to the trip. We decided to check one bag instead at a cost of $40 per leg but then Spirit considers over 40 Lbs overweight instead of 50 like other airlines so another $30 for overweight per leg for an extra $140 for the trip. Then soft drinks are $3 everything costs more. I will say the flight crew did a great job when there was a heart attack on our flight and they attended to him with great care. Then our flight back was cancelled due to the Hurricane but no other airline had to cancel that far out from the hurricane actually hitting. It seems Spirit couldn't get flights to Chicago with nothing to do with Atlanta. In fact we ended up driving all the way back to Atlanta only to see Delta and other airlines landing at the airport 11 hours later. Only Spirit wouldn't fly in more than a day before it effected the area. They did at least refund most of my money. I'll just never fly them again."
Pros: "It was a mistake to fly with Spirit!!!!! It was a nightmare in every aspect!!!! No, there was NOTHING that I like. I hated it. NEVER FLY SPIRIT AGAIN."
Cons: "They charged for EVERYTHING!!!! It's pathetic. The flight kept delaying. It was a chaos at the gate. Passengers were confused about which gate we were supposed to be at. My flight was about 3 h delay. Instead of serving us complimentary beverage due to delay, they charged us (even water.) They tried to charge for everything. Check in at a gate would cost $10! Who does that? Never heard that before in my life. A bag would cost over $60 if you check in at the gate. They charged for every single little thing. Disgusting!!!! I almost felt victimized flying their airline. (The seats were small.) I heard one passenger said "My first time flying Spirit. It will be my last time too." I said "Amen!" I WILL NEVER FLY SPIRIT AGAIN!!!! NEVER!!!!"
Cons: "I've read bad reviews about Spirit airlines, but I was on a budget and decided to take my chances. It was a very small plane, which meant tight quarters during a 4.5 hour flight. I have a disability and deal with chronic pain and usually need to carefully plan out long flights so I arrive with minimal pain, but the seats were very small and moving about the back cabin was impossible. When I asked for a wheelchair I wasn't granted my request right away because I was told I didn't register online. I've always requested a wheelchair when I check in with major airlines when I arrive and have never been given a problem. Also, I didn't realize checking baggage would cost so much! No wifi available a very turbulent flight and they even charge for water. It wasn't the most horrible experience, but if we pay for a cheap ticket, expect substandard service. This will definitely will be my last time with Spirit Airlines."
Cons: "I had 3 bags which could easily fit into the cabin space. One of the bags I had carried was the same bag which I had while boarding the flight from Boston to Chicago on 8th Jun 17. While in that trip I was not charged for the bag as the size & weight fitted into your norms. But I had to pay $195 for 3 bags, including the bag which I had while leaving Boston. The behavior of the staff manning the boarding gate was nasty. As I was not having a credit card with me, I chose to pay cash. But they refused to accept cash & told me that my flight will be cancelled and I won't be allowed to board the aircraft. I panicked & requested the passengers to take money from me and swipe their card. With great difficulty I found a passenger who obliged me. A fresh boarding pass was issued to all 4 of us. The bag which I had while taking the flight to Chicago on 8/6/17 fitted on the equipment which measures the sizes, but I was made to pay for it. Very horrible experience of flying a so called low fare airline."
Pros: "The crew was friendly and informative and my seat was comfortable. I also received numerous updates regarding my delayed flight so I felt well-informed as to the situation."
Cons: "My flight was delayed three hours. In spite of this lengthy delay, no complimentary food or drink was offered on the flight. I have experienced delayed flights prior to this and have found that the airline generally tries to make it up a little bit to the passengers by offering them some basic complimentary snacks and drinks, which I feel is a nice gesture. I was a little surprised that this was not offered with my delayed flight yesterday. The only available food and drink options were very pricey so I went without."
Cons: "My flight was canceled with little notice, and the only option I was given by the airline was to try and find a seat on another flight back using their website. Well, nothing was available for several days, and I couldn't afford to miss that much work. Plus, Spirit's help line was totally unavailable. I ended up booking a last minute flight with Delta. Spirit later sent me a voucher for $50, but my ticket cost more than that, plus I had purchased extra baggage. That's still a loss of roughly $70. The voucher is also only good until July, and I have no flights planned any time in the near future where I could think about using it in time. You get what you pay for, and from now on I'll just be paying more for flights with airlines I can trust."
Pros: "The crew was very nice. It was a short flight so we didn't eat. I was ok in my seat but I'm average height of 5.5 ft. Glad you included the 1 free carry on otherwise there would b no incentive to use your airline at all."
Cons: "Cost for checked bags is high. When u add 2 checked bags both ways that is an extra $200. Be serious what are you saving with all your extra fees. This is passed on to the consumer. I'm not a frequent flyer with this airline but if u want my money u have to do more. The food is high too not much of a selection for restricted diets. I can't eat what I offer. The flight was a little rough on take off and landing. No leg room for a man 6.2 ft man husbands knees were against the seat in front off him. Switched seats going to MB but could not going to CHI not a good ride home for him."
Pros: "The staff on the plane were friendly."
Cons: "The flight was delayed, it took a very long time to board. Upon landing, we waited in our seat for over 30 minutes completed stationary after midnight. Water is not offered unless you pay, no TVs, no WiFi, chairs do not recline, and the chair "table" can barely hold your smart phone, a mini tablet is too large to balance. Upon check in, the agent demanded a paper boarding pass and when I showed him an email, he said, you must print. Now I understand there is a FEE to print, which was never explained. This is the only time I have been told to print a boarding pass, it's 2017. A carry on larger than a purse will cost nearly as much as the flight. Overall, I will not be flying Spirit again. I actually canceled my return flight just so I could have a better experience, WiFi, and perhaps a cup of water."
Pros: "Staff and crew were polite, friendly and competent in spite of a significant overbooking situation to solve (unless this is typical Spirit and they're just used to it)"
Cons: "We chose not to "purchase" seats so as to keep the flight price low. What I did not realize in that is how close we came to almost not having a seat. About an hour before the flight came the inevitable "we are overbooked and will compensate for anyone who wants to take a different flight". Shortly afterward came the announcement that the plane they were expecting was significantly smaller than anticipated and the last 30 people to check in who did not purchase a seat would be bumped - too bad so sad. Fortunately for us we had checked in right at the 24 hour mark and were not part of that group of 30. Bag fees are quite high and size limitations are much more stringent - we needed to use different suitcases so as to not exceed their maximums."
Pros: "My experience with spirit airlines on 2/25/2017 was initially good after being checked in at the gate due to the fact that my mother and I were flying standby on United. After waiting most of the day I decided to purchase two ticket on spirit airlines through kyack.com and travelocity. I paid $428.38 to which there was no mention of a handbag fee. Even after check in at the gate there was no mention of a hand bag fee by the initial agent. While sitting and waiting for boarding there was a loud booming voice over the PA system it was Ricardo Employee # 34537. He announced in a loud angry voice if you have a personal bag and a carry on that does not fit under your seat you have to pay $65 for the bag prior to boarding. If you wait till you get to the gate then you have to pay $100. This was said and repeated in an angry and condescending way. I felt like I was being robbed without a weapon being present. This is something I have never experienced before although I have flown on Spirit Airlines once before many years ago. I will not be doing that again. I will not recommend this airline to anyone. I felt like cattle when it was time for boarding."
Pros: "Nothing--there is literally nothing to like about this airline. They display a cheaper fare than other airlines and call it their "Bare Fare" but you better not pack more than a small backpack otherwise you end up paying double the ticket price in services charges and baggage fees!"
Cons: "Spirit's endless amounts of extra hidden costs and ridiculous baggage fees meant that I ended up paying just as much for my airfare as I did to 1) check my bags, 2) print my boarding pass and 3) pay for the hidden services charges to do all of the above at the gate (instead of predicting exactly how many luggage/carry-on items and their exact weight over five months in advance of my trip, when I initially purchased my ticket online). You'll have to purchase water on the plane if you get thirsty. I would not be the least bit surprised if Spirit started charging a fee to use the bathroom on the plane! AVOID THIS AIRLINE if you need to check a bag, or if your carry-on is larger than a small backpack and/or purse! Plus, the interior of their new fleet has decreased space between rows so you have less legroom than ever (I'm 5'5" and 125 lbs--I had no room to move). And the final straw for me: I paid a premium price for a flight that left AFTER 9:00 AM. Less than 48 hours before departure, Spirit changed our flight to 6:05 AM; a time I had specifically filtered out of my options when searching for a flight! And no, there was absolutely no refund or apologies for the inconvenience."
Cons: "When we checked online to see if the flight was on time, it stated that it was delayed over 2 hours. We still had our daughter to the airport within 15 minutes of the originally scheduled flight. When she got to the terminal she was told that the flight left early, there were no more flights, and she was charged $99 to rebook for the next morning. The attendant was also rude to her, once she was able to get her off her (personal) phone. I believe they should have actually apologized for the inconvenience instead of charging her. This airline is the WORST."
Pros: "About the only thing that I can say I liked is, the boarding process went smothly for me & my luggage was on time."
Cons: "Where to start... paid more in bag fees & to get an isle seat for each(4)flights than I did for damn plane ticket! Flights delayed 4hrs another flight in same trip delayed 2 hours. Staff wasn't interactive/friendly I'd say 6/10 were nice. Asked for an isle seat the person helping at counter, said I'd have to pay to upgrade. Seriously- upgrade for isle seat!! I paid to have an isle seat on all 4 flights(I'm a disabled vet who was injured in the line of duty) I need easy access to toilets I'm unable to crawl over people, in turn need idle seat). Paid for isle seat all 4 flights- just to see the flights were super empty, people were sitting where they wanted anyway. Thanks for taking my $ for the seats tho spirit:-|. Staff wasn't that friendly compared to other airlines I've flown on. Not food. No entertainment on flight. Not worth it. If they don't do better business they won't last long I feel. There is potential just needs some work!"
Pros: "Non stop between Baltimore and Chicago was the only positive thing."
Cons: "When you do check in you realize that they charge $90 round trip for the second hand bag and $80 for the first checked luggage. I was happy thinking I got a great price, after that I realized I paid over $150 more per ticket than any other airline, the naked price slogan is a scam. None of the seats reclined in the whole airplane and they were very uncomfortable and looked very cheap. They don't even give you soda and chips, not even water, crew were nice but ticketing staff in Chicago was unpleasant. I will never fly spirit again, don't waste your money like I did."
Pros: "Absolutely nothing"
Cons: "From the minute after booking my flight there were problems. The confirmation page with my flight details had the wrong flight. I had to talk to someone who I could hardly understand for over an hour to correct this issue. When I arrived for my flight it had been delayed 3 hours, then delayed 4 hours, then cancelled. Had to go back to the ticket desk where 100 other unhappy travelers had to wait for 3 ticket desk agents that were offering to reschedule my flight for the same time the following day. My confidence this airline would actually follow through with my new travel arrangements were absolutely zero. I requested a full refund and was unable to fulfill my travel plans. I would never book a flight on spirit airlines again and would go out of my way to prevent anyone I know from making the same mistake. Such a horrible excuse for an airline!!"
Cons: "I didn't like the baggage policy. I didn't like the check in policy or the fact that they don't support TSA precheck because they hope to sell you on an additional fee that will get you through a prority lane. I didn't like the seats which are hard plastic, close together, and don't recline. I didn't like the mini tray table that wouldn't support my laptop so I couldn't work. I didn't like that Spirit falsely advertises with the tag line "LESS MONEY, MORE GO" when the base fare for my connecting flight on this sub-par airline was more expensive than a direct flight on a better airline-before the other fees were added."
Cons: "The flight is advertised as low priced, but at the cost of checking a small carry on for $50 each way. For $100 more for ticket we could've flown JetBlue with amenities like water and coffee and attentive professional flight attendants. The plane was extremely loud, and sounded as if the panels could be ripped right off during landing and takeoff. We shouldve just packed a backpack. I don't think I would ever fly this airline again because the overall feeling was that the equipment was rickety and unsafe. I guess Ive just become accustomed to professionalism and service on other airlines."
Pros: "At the time of purchase, I liked the price."
Cons: "1. They offer no way to reach a live customer service representative via phone. 2. They are the only airline I've used in the US that charges for carry on bags. This makes the cheap fair no longer the cheapest fair. 3. After running late and unable to check in online, or reach customer service, the people at the ticket counter would not ticket my flight 25 minutes before boarding and charged $100 to rebook the next day. 4. They offer no complementary drinks/snacks 5. Their seats are small, uncomfortable, and DO NOT RECLINE!"
Cons: "I understand that Spirit intentionally gives minimal additives and services but I feel they can be a lot more transparent about what they do and do not provide. I felt very uncomfortable on my trip back for the following reasons. 1. Tray table was half the size as a normal tray table. I was trying to do work on it with my small computer and it kept falling off and into my seat mates lap. 2. There was a flight attendant named Duron who made a few comments that made me feel very uncomfortable. I felt he was inappropriate. When collecting trash he walked by my aisle and commented to the person next to me (he was reading the New York Times), "Anything about Trump, or Kill-her-y, Killary, Hillary in there?" And laughed. I was shocked that someone, especially a professional at work would say something so volatile and frankly, violent. On his second round he again came by and asked if "Trump was in the paper and worth reading. Killary in there? You can guess who I am voting for." While people in the back row laughed and the man next to me nervously laughed. I felt very uncomfortable and felt he was inappropriate. I plan never to fly Spirit again after this experience. I hope that you can address this issue with your quality assurance team and to Duron. It can't continue. Thank you,"
Cons: "Tried to print tickets at kiosk at 6:15 pm for flight departure at 7 pm. Told to see an agent. Agent said check in time ended at 6:05. It was now 6:17, so it was closed and we couldn't get tickets. Could take a morning flight for one penny charge. We still had 27 minutes before departure. Asked to talk to manager. 5 minutes later, she reluctantly issued our tickets but said "we still may not make the flight." Security was very short, and we made it 10 minutes before departure. I will never again fly Spirit. This was the ultimate in poor custumer service. Also, we were never given an opportunity to check in on line and self print our tickets. Usually I receive an email 24 hrs ahead of departure day for opportunity to check in and print tickets. Did not receive an email prior to day of departure, and no where on my itinerary did it say that check in ended at 6:05. Never again. Will tell all about our experience. What a crock. You lost my business and my fiancee's as well."
Pros: "I like they're trying to disaggregate costs -- but this ends up feeling like punishment."
Cons: "There is a lengthly upsell process which is part of printing your boarding pass and checking luggage. - they charge of 'carry ons', so I paid for the shoulder bag for my computer along with two regular bags....both ways. (note this fee was nearly twice my ticket fee.) - When I arrived and the gate and staff said people make this mistake a lot, there was no way to get a refund other than a time limited credit. - Though this will change, they currently don't allow TSA Pre customers to use that status. They also dont have wifi, a huge business advantage. - When I arrived 30 minutes before the flight, they refused to issue a boarding pass, couldn't transfer me to a same day flight, or refund any portion of my unused tickets or prepaid checked bag fees. Note: I walked to the American Airline counter, bought a ticket, checked bags, and left 30 minutes later -- with more hospitable treatment and only slightlyl higher total cost. I like trying new business approaches -- but I've flown four of their flights and now have the resolution to avoid them at most any cost."
Cons: "I had to print out the ticket at a kiosk even though i checked in online and also the staff at the check in desk had terrible customer skills, did not smile and did not seem to want to help you. i was called ON my way to the airport (couple hours before departure) that my flight was canceled because of air traffic congestion and was told i could be switched to the next flight the next day which was not acceptable in my situation. I stood in a long line to get a refund and also the flight into Chicago via Spirit was unsettling especially because all staff over the intercom inside the airplane including the pilot did not have their lines memorized and kept stuttering because they messed up."
Cons: "The staff was unhelpful and rude. They gave me a ticket for the wrong city after I said twice "Portland MAINE" not Portland Oregon. Ended up getting the wrong one. This was after my original flight to Boston had been canceled after being delayed 3 times. I was supposed to leave Chicago for Boston at 2 pm. Didn't leave until 8:30pm. As usual I got to the airport two hours early so I spent 8 hours in the airport of the city I was trying to leave. Trying to get a new flight and eventually just got a refund for about half my original ticket and buying a new ticket on another airline. They were rude the whole time and unhelpful. But that's just airports. But the lady giving me the wrong ticket is ridiculous. This review is silly because eventually I got on a JetBlu flight anyway. I never ended up taking Spirit anyway. I still have my return flight booked so lets hope I make it back home on time..."
Cons: "I would NEVER recommend Spirit Airlines to even my worst enemy. The airline unilaterally canceled by flight without informing me, and luckily, I was checking the website prior to the flight to discover it. I was not offered any viable flight options out, despite me offering to drive to four (4) different nearby states to go to different airports! The customer service is horrible and they caused me to miss the entire trip with no remedy! After this incident, I researched Spirit Airlines and saw tons of other reviews where customers seem to have similar complaints! I will never fly Spirit Airlines and will never refer them... customers BEWARE!"
Cons: "I arrived at O'Hare and my flight was cancelled. I had to book another flight for the next day ($480+) and a hotel room for the night ($200+) ALL AT MY EXPENSE. The Spirit representatives said that someone from Spirit would contact me in a few days to reimburse me for the flight from O'Hare to NYC, but as of a week, no one has. I have very little faith that anyone ever will or that I will be reimbursed for the flight that was cancelled. I intend to report Spirit to the NYS Attorney General's Office. Everything was bad, since I had to spend close to $700 of my own money to get back home. VERY VERY BAD."
Cons: "Flight was delayed upon 2 emails and at the gate. went for breakfast. At Our return with more than 30 min to spare the flight had pussed out and had left on regular scheduled time. There were about 30 passengers stranded and scrambling to find flights with no help from spirit or its customer service people. May I add that the delay was still showing the 54 min delay time at the gate after The plane had left! (Insanity) This is after waiting in a baggage line for Over an hour just to be able to check a bag witch we had to pay for. There are plenty of airline I would fly before ever choosing spirit experience was terrible people were unhelpful and rude!"
Cons: "So we get a call on the way to the airport saying the flight was cancelled.....followed by "Have a great Day :-) '. They offered to book us two days later on a different flight. What???...do they think I'm a sr. citizen with nothing to do but sit around for two days waiting for a flight? Completely ridiculous. I got a refund....but it was ridiculous. I know... I saw all the other reviews saying to "never book spirit"...plus I had another ridiculous experience on Spirit a couple years ago. But after two disasters, I now know to never book spirit again."
Pros: "Inexpensive Tickets"
Cons: "Gate was changed last minute, and nobody bothered to inform all of us who were waiting at the previous gate. I later discovered an email about the gate change, but the Spirit board and the gate signage hadn't changed, so I wasn't checking email. Everyone rushed down to the new gate, and had to walk outside to board. Seats on Spirit are pretty cramped and uncomfortable. They don't recline (at all), and they are thin, so you feel everything happening in the pouch behind your back. The most annoying aspect of the flight, however, was the unending sales pitch about their credit card that was made by the flight attendants as we made our descent. It was ridiculously loud, especially after a dark late night flight, and just kept going and going. I don't fault the staff, who are probably responsible for selling, but I do fault Spirit for forcing a captive audience to hear it ad nauseam. Overall, you kind of get what you pay for here, and I would still fly Spirit again IF they were considerably cheaper than the competition. BTW, remember that Spirit charges for carry on luggage. We shipped our via UPS, which was half as much, thanks in part to shipping via my workplace."
Cons: "We were not assigned a seat and had to wait at the gate until everybody got in the plane and they gave us the last seats and were seated separately, although there were 2 seats available next to my friend i was traveling with, but we were told it was a full flight. The flight attendant told us we could switch after the seat belt sign came off, but after that we were told no and one of them was not very polite. Terrible. Hope not to fly with spirit airlines ever again!! I dont want to talk about the baggage also, those people only know how to be rude and don't explain anything!"
Pros: "Although late, arrived at our destination."
Cons: "Was the gate under construction? It was difficult to get off the plane, having to maneuver down the ramp, outside and up 2-flights of stairs. I did not hear anyone inform the passengers about the condition of the gate, nor was anything said about arriving late to get to connecting flight. I asked a flight attendant as I was getting off, only to be told the same plane was continuing on to MSP, but I had to deplane for cleaning. Once inside it was so crowded and no organization: it was shoulder to shoulder and people were squeezing in and out of the crowd to get to where they needed to be. Finally able to get back on the plane, going down 2-flights of steps to the tarmac to the ramp, etc. ugh; I've recently had back surgery and continue to have back pain. This was a painful transitional exercise that affected me immediately and for days afterward."
Pros: "Had issues with online check in. Had to call customer service. On hold 45 mins. Agent refused to take my info for return trip. Got to airport - no record of my paying for seat or carry-on. Agent rude. Informed me I had purchased seat/carry on for RETURN but not for first leg. Boarding nightmare. Plane smelled of old beer and vomit. Ppl in aisles with seat assignments for Row 31. Plane only had 30 rows. Return flight: got to airport - no record of my return flight. Had to be stand by for an oversold fight. There were at least 8 of us in exactly same situation. Gate crew was wonderful but frustrated - says it happens ALL the time. Will never fly Spirit again..."
Cons: "Paying for seat and carry-on. Once those fees were added to original cost of tickets, there was no savings. This, combined with above issues, clinched it for me, and I will use major carriers for all future flights."
Cons: "I got into he line 70 minutes before my flight, which was considered a "late check in" and the line was so long I missed my flight! The next flight to my destination was 12 hours later, so I said I would have to purchase another ticket with a different carrier. The cashier informed me I would get refunded for the missed flight. Flash forward to my return flight, they canceled it! The cashier never noted that we even spoke, and it is procedure to cancel the rest of the booking if a customer doesn't get onto a flight. It was a complete nightmare. I had to purchase another ticket home and the kicker: no refund for either flight that I didnt even go on. You get what you pay for. Spend more and go with a larger carrier. I've always had good experiences with Southwest."
Pros: "That I arrived safely"
Cons: "Seats - no recline position. I'm not claustrophobic but that flight made me feel like it. Boarding was a zoo... 3 flights from the same area. No space to stand or sit. Stewardesses walking with shoes that made loud noise and vibration every time they passed by. I was hoping to sleep during this claustrophobic and uncomfortable flight but they're loud walking woke me up 3 times. Finally, do we really need to make 15 announcements that no one cares about during the flight? Just get us there safely ... I don't need to know the weather and cruising altitude in 3 different announcements ... Also waking me up during this painful experience. Worst of all... I feel like my comments will never make a difference because you appeal to thise customers who will go through pain just to save a little on air fare. However that's not me."
Cons: "I had a connecting flight form San Jose to Chicago in Fort Lauderdale. Both Flights were Spirit. Had around 2 yrs to get from my flight from San Jose to the chocago flight. By the time i went thru customs (huge line) then thru security (another huge line) i got the the gate at 7:38 A. M. My flight was scheduled to leave at 7:42 A.M.. I understand that you do need to close your gates a little earlier, but i was not the only one that had the same itenerary and missed the flight. Its just hard to understand that you must have a record of who is missing on that flight and since you know they are at the airport (because we came in from San Jose on your flight) not to at least wait until 7:42 to close the gates. There was no one at the gate, the gate was closed as we watched the airplane sit there without moving for at least another 10 minutes. Its beyond logic and the only way i can explain that in my mind is that your record of competing with other airlines of being on time is more important to the airline than the customers themselves. Which is very sad. Then i stood in line for one and a half hours just so i can speak to someone on what my next step should be. Do you have any idea how stressful it is to miss your flight and then have to stay in line for another hour and a half in that stress? As i stood there and watched the couple in front of me being in distress and his girlfriend crying i realized how unfriendly Spirit Airlines is ti its cutomers. Then finally i get to the representitve to be told i can get a flight out at 6:15 P.M. That is 10 and half hours later. So i inquired, can we use another airline or even an alternative airport to resolve the long wait, of course i was told no without any explanation. So, i had my office search for a flight for me and they found one for 101.00 to Midway with Southwest Airlines leaving at 10:15 A.M., but since i was in a different terminal and would have to go thru security, i would not make it. Very frustrating to think since your air line is the one that propsed the itenerary for me, would not back me up when i missed the flight with no fault of mine. Afterall, Spirit sold me that Itenerary, they should have been aware that it can take longer than two hours to make it to the next flight. But, what really has me steaming is you could not even have more than one person to help at the counter for the people that missed their flight, because if you DID then i could have had time to book the Southwest flight. Due to your lack of concern about the customers in general my company nor I will ever use your services again. I know that probably doesnt break your heart, but me being in business now for well over 30 years,i can gaurantee you eventually if you do not change your practices, it will affect your bottom line. One last note. I overheard another frustrated customer asking if they will give him any food vouchers, and he was stared down for a few seconds and then a simple "no"."
Pros: "A good male flight attendant whose name started with M."
Cons: "I arrived at the airport more than an hour and a half before the flight. The wait for check in was incredibly long. It appeared that there were 5 employees at the counter but only 3 were checking people in. The TSA line was also very long and when it appeared that I was going to miss the flight, I expressed my concern to a Spirit agent who referred me to TSA who referred me back to Spirit. We were told we'd be re-ticketed at the gate. Finally, a large group of passengers who were in the same situation just moved to the head of the TSA line explaining our situation and enduring hostility from some of the other passengers. The gate was far away and I'm not able to run. The plane was held for us but the experience was MISERABLE. Spirit needs to have adequate staff to check people in and needs to press TSA to do the same. I've never had this experience on any other airline and I travel a lot and have for decades"
Cons: "I asked for a flight to Minneapolis from Chicago I booked the flight and found out that the flight was from Minneapolis to Chicago. I tried to cancel it and get a refund. That's where my nightmare began. I ended up with 2 flights and then cancelling because it just wasn't worth. I wanted to go visit my son who is incarcerated and wanted to go for a 1 day visit.(ON HIS BIRTHDAY) APRIL 3. If I would have gone I would have only been able to see him for 2 hours. Instead I got screwed out of $120.00. NO flight and NO visitation because you kept my money."
Pros: "The entire process was flawless. Plane was extremely clean, flight attendants very nice, even funny and mocking themselves a bit considering Spirit charges for EVERYTHING! The key to flying Spirit and not getting hit with large additional charges is to understand whats expected of you as far as baggage. Get this right and the rest of the experience is better than any other airline Ive had the displeasure of flying over the past 15 years. Apparently all passengers on this flight were well aware of the baggage limitations as boarding and exiting the plane once in Tampa went VERY quickly and rather than passengers getting bent out of shape during this process everyone was smiling! Havent seen this...ever!"
Cons: "Wish there was a Wifi option on the flight. Spirit charges for everything and this would have been another revenue stream for them and I guarantee most passengers would have used it and paid the $5-10 for access to the internet."
Pros: "Best price (as long as you can live out of a back-pack or similarly small sized bag for the duration of your trip). I was only going away for 2 nights and so was able to do it. If I had to pay the luggage fees, this would NOT have been the best price."
Cons: "Seats are incredibly small and uncomfortable (I felt like the right side of my seat was just metal with the covering and zero seat cushion to it)! You are allowed one personal item about the size of a backpack or large purse, BUT you MAY NOT carry a personal item and your purse or a personal item and a laptop. So if you cant stand the tiny seating with no leg room (my limit is about 90 minutes) AND you can carry EVERYTHING you need in a backpack or large purse, this is the way to go. Don't think you will get a traditional carry-on bag onto this plane for free! Traditional carry-on bags are too large!"
Pros: "I liked that the price of the flight was inexpensive."
Cons: "The crew on the flight was extremely unprofessional, suggesting that we don't "hurt one another" when we are free to take other open seats. Also, the seriousness of the crew and the responsible feeling that I normally get from a flight crew was not there. The pilot was good. But the attendants were telling " jokes". An airplane is not a comedy club. I like to feel safe, and that the staff is capable in the event of an emergency. Also, the plane seemed dirty with advertisements inside the cabin for a specific hotel in Vegas. This gave the plane a very ghetto feeling."
Cons: "I found out my flight was delayed two hours but decided to go to the airport at the appropriate time anyway. It was just a girls weekend so I wasn't in any major rush to get there. As my shuttle is taking me to the airport, I look again to find that my flight has officially went from taking off at 9:14pm to taking off at 12:12pm. When I got to the airport, it was 7pm so I would have to wait for 5 hours. I went to the Spirit counter and asked what time my flight was leaving. The man at the counter says "9:15" so I responded with "okay great so there's no delay then??" He said "yeah there's just a short delay you won't even know" I showed him my phone and asked is 12:12am the time were supposed to leave? And he said "yes". Well, then I was fuming because this customer "support" person completely lied to me. Another quite rude lady said there was absolutely nothing they could do for me and shooed me away. I was also told it was because their technology wasn't reaching flight control. I went to my gate anyway and noticed that the spirit section was completely packed-I'm assuming this issue backed up many flights. After an hour of waiting, they announced that the delay may be even longer. I immediately left because at that point I wouldn't get into my destination until 4am which wasn't worth my short visit to where I was going. Later on in the night, I looked at my phone to see what happened-it ended up being cancelled!!!! What a joke! Bad customer service, bad fees, bad way of handling their flight situations!!! Never again."
Pros: "There were no egregious problems. The crew were courteous."
Cons: "The experience was lukewarm. I didn't enjoy being nickel-and-dimed at every turn, which was the impression I was left with at the end of the experience. The a la carte pricing, rather than putting the passenger/customer in the position of control (e.g. you get to only pay for what you want), gave the impression of being deceptive and stingy (the airline gets to brag about having low fares, while hitting you for every piece of luggage and bag of peanuts). This vibe was probably exacerbated by the healthy "shake down" for more money, *ahem* "services," near the end of the flight, a shakedown that even involved the pilot emphasizing via intercom the benefits of what Spirit could offer. I could have done without that, and I didn't pay for it. Not only that, but as the crew only catered to those who paid for services, the flight was an exercise in courtesy that seemed to stop at the shake down, and friendliness that only truly extended to those who chose to patronize the amenity side of the airline. Also, due to the low number of people who took part in purchasing amenities, the crew had considerable time on their hands to socialize at the end of the plane, something they partook of heartily. On the comfort side, I'm also a bit taller, and the seats were the most cramped of any airline I have flown with to date. That led to a less-than-ideal situation. In all it was a completely sub-par experience. I will not be flying with Spirit in the future, if I can possibly help it."
