Pros: "The flight attendants were very attentive and polite, seats are some of the most comfortable of any airline I've flown (particularly compared to the US domestics), entertainment is solid (although the English movie selection was not that large), and we were regularly offered food and drink if we were awake. I would definitely recommend JAL to others."

Pros: "Our flight was delayed due to lightning strike on arriving flight, we were transferred to non stop EVA Airline so we can get home and not need a connecting flight in Japan. JAL did all these arrangements without us requesting it. They also were very polite and got our luggage in time to be on the flight with us. JAL is truly a top airline in the world."

Then during my trip I was trying to look at what costs and fees would be associated with changing my flight and extending the trip. The website was hard to navigate and offered very little information"

Cons: "Our flight was delayed for two hours. We have a connecting flight from Osaka to Los Angeles, which we were worried we couldn't make it. They told me the flight will wait for us because there were 20 plus people also need to get on that plane. When the time of boarding we heard they were calling us to the front and explained the flight we were suppose to be connecting already took off. They had to booked us to another airline. We were extremely disappointed! We asked if we could took another Japanese airline but they said our luggages were already transferred to that airline and the tickets were printed! Mosf importantly we have already waited in airport 5 hours and they needed us to wait for another 3 hours! Very bad experience with how they dealing with this situation!"

Cons: "Checking in with Japan Airlines was a serious hassle. I had my e-ticket but they kept asking me if I had already paid. The flight was apparently overbooked but than at the last minute, they gave me and my girlfriend seats separated from each other. I sat in the back, she sat in front. The tickets also had trouble scanning and kayak isn't a known agency."
Pros: "The stewardess of the flight from LA to Osaka was awesome , I don't remember her exactly name , I think she is older then other crew members working that day on economy class . She was very professional , serving customer with the best she can. Always smiles. I feel good whenever I see her walks by, smile and very professional When the meal was serve but they only had one dish to choose instead of two ( I guess that day Chicken Masala dish was high on demand so there are only Japanese dish left) she said we are so sorry with a very sincere gesture , I chose Japanese food because I like Japanese food anyway , she politely thanks me for my choice and later bring a bag of small mix snack for me and said thank you for being flexible . Later on, when we getting off the airplane she even helped me to stroll my carry on out to the airplane because I was carry too many stuffs with me and my daughter being so tired of the long flight so I have to comforted my daughter . The stewardess saw that and helping me a hand . I wish every airlines has someone like this crew member . Thank you so much for the awesome service on Japan Airlines."

Pros: "I feel like I got way more than what I paid for with this airline! The hostesses were super friendly always offering some sort of beverage, the food was tasty (Be careful not to drop noodles on yourself like I did, those bad boys left a little mark). The video selection wasn't huge, but it was definitely adequate with good titles. Maybe I haven't noticed this before in other airlines, but they had new toothbrushes (packaged, not someone's forgotten toothbrush) in the restroom so the poor sap next to me didn't have to smell my stinky breath. Finally, they were quick with boarding! They were very punctual and we took off right when we got on, so nice!"
Cons: "The seats were pretty adequately sized, however, I felt like I couldn't lay back too far or if the the person in front of me did, it made it really difficult to get the seats. Also, I thought it was my headphones, but it happened on a couple of flights with different headphones, but the audio only comes out of one earphone which was slightly annoying... Other than those things, JAL is super solid and I would recommend it to anyone considering them."

Cabin foods are generous, filled with variety and tasting the best among various international airlines that I have experienced between LAX and Taipei, Taiwan in the past ten years. The seat belt on light and bell were kept at minimal, in contrast to other airlines like EVA, China Airlines, Korean Airlines and United Airlines."

Both legs were on time, the meals were excellent, and the chouce of movies was more than adequate. I will fly with JAL again."

Cons: "I didn't like that the crew at check-in and the crew on the plane told me different things. The crew at check-in told me I could keep my purse with me, and the crew on the airline told me I had to put it overhead. Please be consistent! Flying is very stressful for me, and I want the staff to make it as stress-free as possible. As for boarding, I wasn't allowed into the gate until an hour before. What really bothered me was that they had already let some people into the gate and shut some other people out. Either let people in or don't. Don't follow the rules halfway because then they won't mean anything. I was very shocked by this and have never experienced this at any airline before. All I wanted to do was sit down and relax at the gate before boarding. If this ever happened to me again, I would not fly with the same airlines. To think that this was a JAL flight, with such a high reputation of customer service, makes me even more wary of booking a flight with JAL. I didn't appreciate being treated that way, and I will not tolerate it if it happens again."

Nothing can the counter do till i've to call kayak/flight network. One hour conversation from malaysia to canada. What a wast & replace me with air china. Stupid kayak & flight network."

Yeah my flight was delay by 3 hours for reasons out of their control and I missed my connecting flight but they completely made up for it. The food and drinks were really good along with the service. Plus they booked me on another flight along with a hotel for the night. Awesome service and experience, I would travel with them again."

I loved both the ground and flight crews. They're so patient and willing to accomodate us and help solve problems. I only wanted to suggest if they can give us more new or not so new movies to watch.

The fruit was nearly frozen it was so cold. The entree had a few different things but still a weird combination of veggies."

Pros: "I took EVA flight 55 from Chicago O'Hare to Taipei Taoyuan airport. Everything went smoothly, from the check-in where the check-in and baggage staff informed me that one of my check-in bags was a little over weight and gave me a chance to repack the bag so I did not need to pay. Security lines for the red-eye flight time were not long, and once I arrived at the gate, EVA's boarding crew moved passengers along quickly. Flight attendants were very professional and courteous. Landing and baggage claim went well. No complaints at all! I would recommend this flight to anyone wanting direct service from Chicago to Taipei."

After flying EVA the last 5 round trips we are happy to say they are the #1 airline of choice. The flight staff were polite, seats were comfortable, and we reached our destinations on time. This was my first time traveling first class since the pandemic. The difference in service was dramatic and made me seriously regret having paid three times more for a first class ticket. Specifically No Sky Cap lounge - One of the main reasons I traveled first class was to use the Sky Cap lounge since we were going to have to wait for our flight for several hours at PDX. PDX Sky Cap would not allow us to enter as first class passengers. The receptionist said we needed to have their American Express Card. Further the Las Vegas Sky Cap lounge is permanently closed. Food - Our first flight was early in the morning, so I thought no need to grab breakfast in the airport, I'm traveling first class. The only food we were served or offered between LAS and PDX was Biscoff cookies. Our return trip was the same. Seems the days of being served a hot meal in first class are long gone.

This flight was excellent. Left and arrives ahead of schedule. The plane was only half full and they actually let people lay down in rows of empty seats. The crew was super kind to a large family with a bunch of kids who wanted to be closer together. I think Delta purposely avoids turbulence more than other airlines because I never experience jarring flights, even the red eyes. They served two meals onboard (which were honestly pretty gross but they are doing their best). Also the newer planes have really cool lighting that helps with jet lag because they mimic the sunset and sunrise colors, and have polarized windows that extend “night time” until they are ready to land in the morning. Pretty cool.

Everything went as expected. Masks were worn, passengers were cooperative, flight was on time, unboarding was uncannily orderly. People remained seated until the people in front of them stood to gather their belongings. It proceeded as a wave almost. I've never seen anything like it. It was like being in the Twilight zone. Boarding still allows about half the plane to board first (passengers with kids and needing help, priority and first class, diamond, sky something or other, military, etc.). Then they board from back to front. Half the plane is already on board so I'm not sure why they bother.

Contrary to United and Lufthansa's explicit reassurances, the long run halfway down one concourse and all the way back up a second left me four minutes short of the gate closure. You guys need to get your act together. If either airline chooses to finance its operations by selling tickets to an "aggregator", such a business practice should not relieve the airline of its obligation to provide reliable service to its ultimate customer, the flyer. I am currently working to identify an appropriate regulatory agency to whom to report this cynical misrepresentation of services and the patently corrupt business model upon which it is based."
