Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Partial the crew."
Cons: "Change the management. Worst customer service ever."
Pros: "Crew is good. Friendly and helpful"
Cons: "Food is okay. Once hour later getting into the air but it seemed as if this was a Toronto Pearson airport issue as I'm always delayed out of Toronto"
Pros: "Flights were very good. I was concerned about the buy food on board option but it worked well. The food was good and it cost less than buying in the airport and bringing on board. Using the charge card to pay wend smoothly and seemed not to slow the process at all. Good job Air Canada."
Cons: "Space was tight."
Pros: "Bags were available when we got to carousel"
Cons: "It took longer than average for them to open doors once at gate. That’s probably why bags were available."
Pros: "Breakfast was excellent"
Cons: "TV screen were too dark"
Cons: "Mechanical issue with the plane. Sat on the tarmac for 2 hours without regular updates or any information. Missed connection as a result. Have been traveling for 19 hours still not in Amsterdam"
Cons: "The flight got cancelled way in advance and nobody neither airlines nor webjet.com informed us about it. Also, nobody could replace our tickets for the next day either. So our flight didn't happen and we had to drive to Washington DC to find a flight from there. So we will never buy any tickets from Kayak or Webjet.com! Extremely poor service"
Cons: "I want to seriously complain about Air Canada and Kayak booking systems. I reserved the tickets to Shanghai but there were no place reminding me that I need Canadian VISA to connect flights between two Canadian cities. I am a Chinese citizen who is working at USA and not allowed to change flights in Canada based on the newest government rules. However, in both booking systems, there is no reminders. In my opinion, either Kayak or Air Canada can add a simple checkbox to let the potential guest choose his or her nationality status, then this kind of trouble can be mitigated. We talked and called Air Canada people but no buying. They kept saying this is our responsibility. We bought United Airline tickets at the last minutes and cost us about $2,400 because we cannot wait to get back China to prepare our wedding ceremony and US Visa interview. We are very very disappointed with Air Canada and will keep complaining about this issue. As a service supplier, how cannot you think on behalf of a customer? The air company definitely knows more about government rules than a customer. We did have mistakes of not researching government rules. However, the biggest mistake was we trusted Air Canada and Kayak who we thought had taken care of those kind of issues for us. Thanks."
Pros: "Impressed with how on top of things AC is. They even paged me when I did not have my bag ticket. Efficient! People were great. Definitely will fly with AC again and again. Thank you"
Pros: "i loved the idea of a direct flight from Vancouver to Boston, the convenience of which made other things irrelevant."
Cons: "The snacks served (a tiny bag of pretzels) were a bit meager, especially since I had gone west on Jet Blue, which serves unlimited snacks in a good variety, but that's a minor thing. I don't like checking in at an automated kiosk, which was frustrating, and took me a while to figure out (I am not of the digital generation). The first human contact I had was with the person who scanned my boarding pass. The flight was completely full, which is never a comfortable situation in coach class."
Pros: "Service food on time flights"
Cons: "No movie for such a long flight."
Cons: "no luggage"
Pros: "The employees were friendly and professional."
Cons: "The plane was extremely cold, more so than any other I've been on. It made it hard to get comfortable."
Pros: "Crew dealt with a lot of crabby people and a lot of languages very well"
Cons: "Food options weren't given until flight attendant was walking the aisle which was too late to obtain payment to tender for a meal option."
Pros: "comfortable clean and overall a pleasant experience"
Pros: "The price for the flight was right. Nothing can be done about the seat size. Food was ok. Comfort of seats ok. Not easy to recline. The etertainment helped me fall asleep, a Good Thing. Crew was pleasant, helpful."
Cons: "Pearson Airport is a miserable experience for travelers. Security there is very badly managed. Long, long long lines of people waiting without reasons given, getting lost because signage is poor, unable to understand the English of the employees, weeping exhausted children and innumerable check points for showing documents. GET ORGANIZED, Canada!"
Pros: "Service was on time & staff was friendly and helpful."
Cons: "On the flight back, we had to wait on the airplane for a good hour before we could disembark. But that was due to heavy traffic at the airport and not the fault of the airline."
Pros: "Terrible experience with delays and cancellations and waiting times for customs. I felt like it was groundhog day. Had to leave the airport back through a massive line in customs after my flight was ultimately cancelled. They are doing work on the runways, weather, whatever. Seems some flights could leave especially those that were not Canadian airlines. This has happened on more than one occasion and the airline handles it very poorly with little communication. Will not fly AC again if I have the choice"
Cons: "Hour late departure. Old people travel to Sarasota, AC should consider that in boarding."
Pros: "Affordable fares"
Cons: "They ran out of the food, and many people were left with no choice for dinner. Food was just okay. Crews weren't very helpful when boarding. It was hard to find a spot for my carry on luggage. I waited for someone to come over and help me find the spot, but no luck."
Pros: "Liked being distracted by a free movie."
Pros: "Entertainment and comfort of seats"
Cons: "The crew was very rude and not helpful"
Pros: "Video monitor did not work on ATL YYZ leg"
Cons: "Flight delay"
Pros: "Seats had a decent amount of room."
Cons: "Aircanada'swe boarding system is again and everyone in later zones just blocks everyone else. Due to issues mentioned on the flight above my husband didn't get his luggage. We are still waiting."
Pros: "Aircraft had TV screens for each passengers offering a variety of free entertainment for all passengers. (Nice)."
Cons: "i am a 6'4* person and flying on any "express" aircraft is a mild form of torture. I know this is not exclusive to Air Canada but come on North America...lets get that leg room increased. ; )"
Pros: "On Time travel food is okay"
Cons: "Montreal to Los Angeles is kind of rush. They should give more time to go customs. Before you finish the plane is already closed and besides luggages are some missing. My luggage I was not able to bring it with me. It went to Chicago how did it happen until now waiting for my luggage to be deliver here in my place."
Pros: "1. Pilot kept plane informed which is great especially when there is potential turbulence."
Cons: "1. No entertainment on the flight. Not even opportunity to see where the plane is in flight and when we will arrive. No USB charger on the flight. Very outdate plane. 2. The plane was very dirty - trash in between the seat 4. The food was the worst I ever tried on the plane 5. I was very surprised at the very disappointing service. I must say, with all the travel I do, apart from 1 young lade, the flight attendants acted like they loathed being there. It is so disappointing especially b/c I am Canadian so it is a bit embarrassing that Air Canada seems to have such terrible service. 6. The flight attendants were out of a lot of things, I heard them mention several beverages they were out of throughout the flight. I also heard them say that there will be no hot beverages while seatbelt sign is on (which it was a lot). I guess that is reasonable, however, it is the first time I have encountered that on the place. Instead they directed to passengers to come up to the back of the plane to get a hot beverage when the seatbelt sign was off. I did a few times - 1st time they said they were out of cups and to stop by later. But 2nd time had the cups. Did these cups get magically delivered midair or perhaps maybe they just needed to bring cups from the storage on the place and could have given me an option to wait while they retrieve them. 2nd time when I stopped by to try to get a hot beverage, a lady with black hair just gave me an empty cup. The whole experience with this flight was confusing - some attendants seemed not to understand fully what passengers were asking."
Pros: "Excellent crew"
Cons: "Economy seating is no longer designed to fit any passenger who is even slightly above average height."
Cons: "Not even chips"
Pros: "Crews were very nice. I also liked biscuits."
Cons: "Ground staff was not as nice as the crews."
Pros: "Once again great airline!!"
Cons: "Food is meh at best but is reasonably price for quality"
Pros: "AC is dependable and safe."
Cons: "Our return flight NYC to Victoria was delayed at La Guardia by 1.5 hours which reduced our rating from excellent to good."
Cons: "Small, older plane = not much room and very little comfort Arrived late because?!?!?!?"
Pros: "We got to our destination safely and on time."
Cons: "No entertainment system. Seriously? No TVs for an international flight?? They should at least tell you that in advance so you can download movies and bring your chargers. We didn't get drink service until about 2 hours into the flight. Terrible. Food was boring and bad. Finally- we had to pay for wine and beer. On a $1000 flight? I have traveled internationally at least 15 times and this was by far the worst flight yet."
Pros: "Flight attends were very attentive to all passengers. I especially liked that they kept everyone hydrated by offering drinks every couple of hours."
Cons: "Flight was delayed 40 minutes."
Pros: "The movie selection and the food was great! The crew was friendly and helpful."
Cons: "The lack of space in the cabin was very uncomfortable."
Pros: "Everything about the flight went very smoothly. The take off was right on time the boarding was quick and efficient and all the workers on the plane were very kind."
Cons: "Only thing I had a issue with was my headphone jack was a little loose so I had to hold the headphones in a certain spot so I could hear all the audio."
Pros: "A United Airlines employee assisted me by answering questions that I had. This same employee actually came to find me when the Air Canada ticket gate opened early and knew I was waiting to get my boarding pass. Greatly appreciated.."
Cons: "My one checked bag did not arrive,. And when I reported it, there was no tracking for it. It was stressful because I had one night before I was leaving for a back country trip and the " lost" bag had " no hits" when the bar Cade was scanned. So I spent hours trying to find someone who could assist me. I lost one whole vacation day dealing with the bag issue. Sure wish I could get some compensation."
Pros: "The crew was fantastic, really lovely and chipper!"
Cons: "There were only pretzels as a food option and I have celiac disease so I'm allergic to gluten. You can't just have one food option stop skimping. ALSO - I was put on a standby list which is entirely unacceptable. I purchased my ticket, therefore I should have a seat on a flight. Luckily in the end I was printed a ticket, but being on standby was just bullshit. Totally unacceptable."
Cons: "Lost our bag"
Pros: "Good flight."
Cons: "Connecting from London through Toronto to Winnipeg couldn't be accomplished in a 2.25 hr layover. Long line for immigration and and enormous line to go through security again meant I missed my flight and the next one was full. It gave me 5 hours to think of all the reasons why I won't connect through Toronto again."
Cons: "The announcement about turbulence were to much. Could have been way more subtle or shorter"
Pros: "2 seats together"
Cons: "no wine with dinner awful service felt we were bothering the staff movies on AC app were awful food was awful damaged brand new luggage and said they didn't cover the damage awful awful awful"
