Cons: "Boarding was chaotic, and primarily due to the fault of the boarding staff in Frankfurt. I was flying as a tourist from Switzerland, but it was easy to notice the condescending manner in which the African passengers were treated. I noticed the same attitude at immigration services in Frankfurt, were the officers were openly teasing, laughing at and harassing an Eritrean man. Some of the comments passed were frankly disgusting..."

Pros: "The red wine was good. The flight was smooth."
Cons: "Unpleasant boarding experience: While my carry-on item was well within the Lufthansa guidelines, the lady in charge of boarding insisted that it was too big and did not allow it in the cabin. I have used the same bag in previous Lufthansa flights without any problem. She sarcastically told me that "I am not Americanaki" - a derogatory expression used by those in Greece who consider the Americans naive."

Cons: "terrible experience - hidden fees for 1st checked baggage travelocity messed up on their site when the ticket was purchased when in fact the person that travels needs to pay to check in the luggage"

Pros: "Nice, uneventful, on time flight with adequate food and entertainment. Good seat recline. Good service. Boarding from the back of the plane makes good sense."
Cons: "First time my knees have touched the seat in front of me (I'm 5-10). Not sure how much more airlines can squeeze us in. Good seat recline is great if everyone is reclining, if not you will have someone in your lap. Had to ask person in front of me to not recline during meal. What really bothered me though was paying for a reserved seat and finding out we had been moved to the dreaded back row due to an equipment change. Strongly suggest passenger notification for this move. Was able to re-reserve seats on check in but there were some significant angst when I found out about this mischief."

Pros: "The crew again was great. The cheese sandwich was also excellent. I wasn't expecting a sandwich on a 2 hour flight and this was a welcome surprise."
Cons: "Boarding took a long time, but that was a product of having to bus everyone out to the plane for boarding. They also crammed way too many people onto the bus. Would have been more efficient to load quickly and go as another bus was already waiting."

Pros: "It's not only pilot/auto-pilot or only weather dependent for sure, but ride was extremely smooth. landing was fantastic. Entertainment options were great. Crew was friendly and attentive. Sucks for LH, but I had to one sitting next to me on the 8-hour flight! no crying babies, no snoring. yiey!"
Cons: "Maybe US is ahead, but my experience with 2 terminals at Hanover and Frankfurt was that information exchange isn't good. Gate number was available at the last hour or so, which then got changed. Not just this flight. many flocks of people were running around to find their new gate... also as I mentioned climbing several stories of stairs with carry-on isn't fun! Not on this flight, but on my initial departure from US to FRA, monitors said go to Gate B. I got in line for Gate B as there was some security check, then we were told there was another B?!@ We had to go down and take the bus for that...written.. No where!"

Cons: "The food was not good at all. The economy seats are uncomfortable and you should be able to walk around the plane, especially on a 9 plus hour flight."

Cons: "They had one guy checking passports and he was being trained. Someone asked if there was anyone trying to get on the SF flight and a bunch of us raised our hands, but they didn't do anything. We had to run like OJ to make our flight. Not fun. Then the AC wasn't working while we sat there."

Cons: "Boarding at Bologna was a nightmare. The Check-In lines opened late; the number of desks open was limited; took over an hour to check in for flight"

Cons: "I haven’t received my luggage and I have been in Mumbai for almost 3 days!!! I have to buy new clothes and plenty of toiletries, I have only had 1 phone call from the airline to tell me my bags never left SFO!!! Wtf!"

Cons: "1 person working the service desk. I had a question about our connecting flight from Frankfurt and I was told to call the 1-800 number. When I went to check my bag the woman was very rude and asked me "why do I think I can check two bags?" and questioned my Star Alliance premium silver status, demanding I show her my card (I have no card). My friend was flying with me and she was told that her carry on, mind you had flown to and within europe, was too big for the overhead storage and she had to pay 90 euros to check it and the woman held her boarding pass and wouldn't give it to her. we waited in line at the service desk for over 40 minutes so that she could pay. We arrived to the airport 2.5 hours early to eat and shop for souvenirs. We barely made it in time to get to our gate because of the inefficiencies of Lufthansa. 1 person working a service desk for a large airport is unacceptable, especially when they are 8-10 waiting to scan your baggage and not helping out at all. I had a wonderful flight to Europe on Lufthansa and was absolutely appalled at the attitudes of the airport staff and their lack of customer service."

Pros: "The crew were very friendly and I liked that they always kept us hydrated with drinks. Before I even left on the trip I called the airlines several time with so many questions and the staff that I talked to each time were so friendly and helpful with all the questions that I had."
Cons: "The only thing I didn't like is that the boarding process was different than what I was used to. I usually board by zones and this time it was more of a everyone got up at the same time and everyone rushed to the front of the lines and some people would push me out of the way to get in front. ( even though we all had assigned seating) Second thing was that I had asked for a wheelchair for my mom and I had seen one waiting outside and was about to walk up to it but another person was limping up to it and put her stuff down on it so I didn't know if it was for my mom or her. I didn't have the heart to go up and make her move if the wheelchair was for my mom so we ended up walking the whole way to customs. I felt bad for my mom afterwards because her knees ended up hurting by the time we got to customs. I would suggest holding up signs of individual names for who the wheelchair is for. Other than that everything was great"

Cons: "The shabbiness of the plane. The cramped space. The lack of overhead bin space. In fact, the space above my seat was full of suitcases of the crew. I had to find space somewhere else. If I had not been able to board early, I probably would not have found space."

Pros: "The Lufthansa crew in Munich was very helpful when my boarding pass would not go through - I was not told I needed a new pass for that flight (as the first one had been cancelled and rebooked: 2 Air Berlin flights). No one was of help until this point, and the Lufthansa crew even offered to check on my baggage for us only to notice it never left Berlin; we didn't get it for 3 days. This did not surprise me because last time I flew Air Berlin for an 8 day cycling & camping trip, I didn't see my bike for 5 days (you can imagine this sort of ruins the entire point of the trip). After reading a lot of complaints with Air Berlin and never hearing back from their customer service (ever) after numerous forms filled out, I knew checking our bags with Air Berlin from the start would mean we wouldn't see them in New York. I even said to the Air Berlin employee at check in that I refused to check my bag because of my past experience and he "assured" me my bag would be at JFK when I got there. Ha. It was nice to see the Lufthansa crew shocked at how poorly this trip home was working out for my husband and I."
Cons: "After the cancelled flight, we were very disappointed to be rebooked with Air Berlin. We do not want to fly Lufthansa if they are so closely associated with Air Berlin, and will tell our friends the same."

Pros: "Nice crew, made an effort to find a special meal that was ordered for the original connecting flight and was not transferred to the alternate flight since I boarded on standby."
Cons: "Had to sit on a window seat since due to a delayed previous flight I missed my connection and boarded on standby. I have long legs and it was extremely uncomfortable and painful to sit there."

Cons: "No boarding lines. Boarded late. I was not given enough time from my arriving flight. I had to spring the length of the airport and up and down stairs as the elevators had long lines. Maybe it was good it boarded late or I wouldn't have made it."

Cons: "My wifes luggage was lost, no followup at all from Lufthansa (main) or in Seville which was our destination. We had to call to find out any information. Once the bag was found and delivered to Seville, Lufthansa personnel again did not tell us nor would they deliver the bag to our hotel as the driver had already left. We then had to wait another day to have the bag delivered to Granada. Terrible customer service, the bag was missing for four days causing us to spend time shopping for clothes rather than experiencing the city."

We landed late then in Frankfurt and instead of parking at a gate, we parked at the tarmac and had to wait for a bus to take us to the terminal. Then my layover was at the very end of the terminal. All of this combined caused me and some 30 other passengers to miss their connecting flight to Chicago. Just poor management of the flight."
