If AsiAsia are going to keep to this 7kg hardline they really need to do it across all airports and do it during the document check so the number of queues costumers are subjected to are minimized. I did purchase extra weight when purchasing the ticket however that weight MUST be in checked bags only. No margin here for discussion. Perhaps HotSeat passengers are less scrutinized??? This all may be just some transitional pains here and other airlines may follow the same model but in my 200+ flights on Nok Air this has NEVER happened. In fact, they (Nok) have NEVER weighed my carry on bag. Such a shame as the rest of the flight experience was above average. This hardline approach will be an issue if they continue until they beat their customers into taking or leaving it in my opinion. First AirAsia flight for me so the vets reading this will be smiling quietly to themselves ;-)"

Cons: "We Pre ordered (and paid for) meals when we booked our tickets, having flown Air Asia before we knew what was good and what wasn't. Somehow our orders were lost and we got the 'default' meal on all flights which was sweet and sour chicken meatballs which was almost as awful as it sounds. We heard the same thing happen to the lady in the seat behind us. Staff pretty much ignored our complaint. There's also a weird process with check in where you get processed into a small lounge Pre flight with no food or shops, there doesn't appear to be a reason for this other than making you sit somewhere cramped and uncomfortable for an hour before your 9 hour flight."
