Then the maintenance crew didn’t notice that there was a dead bird in one of the engines until after we were fully boarded and had to sit on the plane for an hour over our expected time. I appreciated the fact that they were being through for our safety, but catch that before you have people board."

Coming back was worse after multiple delays, they cancelled the flight. they put me on a flight for next day with 2 connections which will reach ny almost 20 hrs later, no aplogises, no hotel room. After more calls put me in another United flight later that night which also finally got cancelled. I had to book a new flight with delta and paid $460 on the spot for that. Still awaiting my refund from American for the return leg which was cancelled and left a lady traveling alone stranded at Detroit airport in the night. Apology or compensation -- forget it, you will never get that! Only now if they can refund my cancelled flight..."

Cons: "The flight was originally scheduled to take off at 8:20 pm, but due to several delays did not end up getting off the ground until after 11 pm. After being in the air for about 45 minutes we were informed that there were issues with the engine and that we would be turning around and heading back to Dallas. By this point it was after midnight, and although I was appreciative that safely is a priority, there was no communication as to what the next steps were. After landing we were finally told that we would have to deplane, and after we sat around the gate for awhile we were informed that the flight would be delayed until 5 am. Being 12:50 am at this point a hotel would have been nice, but we were informed that AA was "out of hotels" but that if we wanted we could have a $12 food voucher to use at the one restaurant that was open several terminals over. The AA employee assisting in handing out the food vouchers seemed extremely unapologetic about the situation which didn't help with the frustration everyone was feeling. I will not be booking with AA again, and will be passing along my negative experience to family and friends. It is worth spending the extra money on a ticket for an airline that is more reliable with better customer service."

Once we finally got ready to takeoff, we had to pull in yet again because there were passengers on the plan that weren't scheduled to go to Detroit.. all of these problems are somewhat understandable, but the crew FAILED TO EMPATHIZE WITH US AT ALL. They even made smart remarks about people going to the bathroom when we pulled back in... I feel some of them acted extremely unprofessional and I truly never want to fly with this company again."

Cons: "The disorganization checking one check bag. I arrived in plenty of time. Very long line to check the bag (no skycab available). Majority of people in line arrived with only a short time before their flight and had to be rushed ahead of me to get to their flight on time. I finally arrived to the front of the line after about 45 minutes and 50% of the people behind me were on flights leaving in 30 minutes or less and had to go ahead of my husband and I. They obviously did not arrive with the advised amount of time allowance. It wasn't my fault I arrived with plenty of time and I had to deal with the verbal abuse from people having to go ahead. Maybe if they missed their flight, next time they would arrive earlier with enough time. It sure wasn't a very pleasant experience at all."

They did give vouchers for dinner at the airport, but continued to charge for even water once on the plane. Frontier prices are good, but not worth the hassle to me. I will choose Delta or American next time."

When I looked at the other passengers bringing on their carry on bag which was the same size as mine I felt I was ripped off for an extra fee just to make money off me. I will never fly frontier crappy airlines again."

I got in line with 3 others, but he was the only one to take tickets as the boading process was under way so there was nobody else at the desk for our questions about when the next flight was, what was the compensation etc. Very disorganized. Their offer to give up your seat was a joke. No flights available for 2 days. JOKE"

Pros: "This is a good airline for basic traveling. Every flight boarded quickly and arrived on time- this is the most important thing to me when I travel. Basic fares are inexpensive as well. The plane was clean and the crew was professional."
Cons: "They charge a la carte for everything- it can be expensive if you're not aware and don't plan ahead. They charge to carry on in overhead bins, for drinks, to pick your seat early....not great if you're traveling on a budget. Pay early to get discounts on these things. It gets more expensive the closer you are to the flight. Also the check in counter only opens two hrs before the flight- I got an early ride to the airport and had to wait for 3 hours to check my bag and go through security."

Cons: "Flight was delayed by three hours, we weren't given notice of this until AFTER the time we were supposed to start boarding. We were promised breakfast/lunch vouchers and a voucher from Frontier, however we never received the breakfast/lunch voucher...so people sat around waiting for this voucher instead of going to get something to eat on their own. I did receive a flight voucher for another flight with frontier for $25 off, but I must book in 90 days. I understand flights will be delayed time and again, but it was how they handled the situation, how we were promised vouchers we did not receive and how we were NOT notified earlier of our delayed flight that I was upset. Airlines should be upfront with their customers who may be traveling for time sensitive events."

No leg room, a pathetic excuse for a tray table not even large enough to read on, seats that will not recline. what is next that the airline can remove to make our experience even worse? Each year the experience gets worse as more comforts are removed. I no longer look forward to travel but dread it. Travel used to be special and now it just sucks."

I am much wiser now as I realize that only one flight per day in and out of Detroit can really have a negative impact on one's travel schedule. The money I spent over those 3 days far exceeded the ticket price of other carriers."
