Too many people crowding the gate when it’s not their time to board
2hr delay. Other airlines were all flying out on time so maybe it was staff shortage? When we eventually took off, we went from Cancun to JFK in 3 hours. Fast once in the air.

We waited 5 delays from DFW because the maintenance on the plane to pick us up had so many that had not been done routinely. Instead of being home at 2:00pm. We were home at 7:00! After all that there was not even water given to us!!
No delays, the wifi on flight didn't work and friendlier staff would be a good start.
For some reason the plane was so uncomfortably hot. The vents did not seem like they were working at all.

After asking twice I notice a golf cart type of transportation for the handicap. Well it took me 1 1\2 to get to my connecting flight. 2 other people had missed there flight. I was disappointed in American Airlines that they could not be bothered to help or even answer a couple questions."

This caused a significant proportion of the passengers to miss their connecting flights. American didn't do anything to help other than offer a "discount" of about $10 off of over $100/night hotel rooms in the Philadelphia area to sleep overnight in Philadelphia. This was absolutely lousy customer service by American, and will definitely make me avoid American Airlines in the future."

We would have preferred not to check the bag because it had everything in it we needed access to like medication, ear buds, book, tablet, it also contained my Jewlery and various other things. The lady was extremely rude when I told her I prefer not to check the bag, she said we could take everything out of the bag we needed but that would have been 70 % of what was in the bag, where was I supposed to put all this stuff? My small purse was already full. my husband was upset at her treatment and said something to her and she told us we where welcome to book another flight. I paid a hell of a lot of money on this flight alone plus upgraded our seats with extra legroom. Once on the plane the seating was so crammed, uncomfortable and no legroom. My seat reclined but my husbands did not. I will never fly American Airlines again."

Pros: "Here's the thing... With Spirit you know what you're getting. It has the least leg-room of any airline in North America and virtually no services. If you're bringing a bag of any kind you may be better off traveling with a competing airline. There won't be complimentary snacks or beverages and there won't be in flight entertainment. Make sure you bring your own, and be sure you know how long you can be comfortable on a flight that feels more like a long distance bus than an airline. That said, if you can get away with what you can carry in a small backpack and you aren't bothered by the possibility of cancellations or delays then nothing beats the price of a Spirit flight. The flight attendants and other staff are consistently friendly and helpful, and improvements have been made in their on-time record. Spirit is low cost, low frills. You get what you pay for, and if all you're paying for is transportation this is a good option."

It'll be three days of not being able to get there because of spirits unethical and subpar customer service. I will never choose to fly Spirit again after this"

Cons: "The lady screaming constantly at security! Good grief! Gate 77 she was an employee. It rang out across all the gates. Felt like cattle being herded to slaughter. Everyone else was very courteous."
Pros: "Quick boarding and flight still arrived on time even though it was delayed 30 minutes. The crew was very nice and humorous."

Pros: "On the outbound seat I was able to purchase a big seat up front. Nice wide comfortable seat up front for an extra $40. Not so lucky on the return. Setting in the regular seat offered plenty of legroom, but not much padding and don't recline."
Cons: "After paying $50 for a checked bag each way it really wasn't a bargain! Snacks are expensive and not allowed to put my backpack in the overhead bin, had to be at my feet."
Pros: "Chose Spirit because of price and received what I paid for, a safe trip to Las Vegas. Nothing more nothing less. Flight was in time."
Cons: "Should not complain because price was prime consideration but the legroom was minimal (I'm barely 6ft tall), and the seats were hard."
Pros: "While you get a cheap rate on the flight, look out for the $50 check bag fee and $100 carry on fee! Yes, you read that right!"

Cons: "too many rules and regulations to remember in order to avoid paying exorbitant fees. They seemed to allow the 1 personal item carry on to be larger than their stated size but I was not willing to gamble and therefore could not even take a backpack on board."

Pros: "I'll never fly this airline again. I was not warned that having a small carry on would increase my flight by 100$. If I need to commute somewhere for a day and not need any luggage I suppose it would be fine. I'm going back to Southwest -that does not do this sort of bait and switch!"

Pros: "Good Equipment, Airbus 319. Prompt take off and on time landing, both directions. Good fares, but a little tricky on the baggage. Assigned seating... even though we went with assigned seating, we still got to sit together, both directions! All issues considered, I would fly Spirit again, and I will encourage others to do so as well! Patrick"
Cons: "Had an issue paying extra for the baggage. Even though my credit is excellent, my card was rejected, so I had to call a rep from Spirit to make arrangements on the same card. This took an hour and a half on the computer... who knows why? Once I spoke w/ the rep, it was wrapped up in 10 minutes. Patrick"

Cons: "I hated that upon arriving to airport to check in with my one small carry on bag, I had to pay $100 to take the bag with me on the plane. The ticket was only $89 and they charged me $100 for the small carry on bag. how is that logical? I could maybe understand charging $50 since they need to make all this extra money I guess, but charging more than the ticket is just absurd and not logical. This left a very bad taste in my mouth and I will not use them ever again. I feel fooled by them cause there were no messages or warnings about the cost of carry one. Very disappointed"

Cons: "Lack of communication. When printing out boarding pass, it flashed the flight was delayed @ 90 min, which I thought was weird. Just thought I'd check in later. When I called TSA in Kansas City I was told the same. So when I arrived at the airport they were announcing thaty flight was boarding, I went to baggage counter and was told I had to take my case on the plane, TSA security told me to take it to baggage counter. I told TSA I'd already been there, the 2 of them start arguing back and forth about my bag, if they would have taken my bag when I 1st went to turn it in, it would have been on the plane with me. However because they'd called final boarding, all my stuff got left in Kansas City. I've already called the airline to see if my bag made it to Vegas or not but haven't found out yet. As they have nt called me back. Oh the man in front of me was on my same flight & how nag made it on the plane. Extremely annoying for this to happen when it could've ALL been avoided as there was no one else behind me."

Cons: "The flight cancelled after multiple changes and confusing emails / Status updates. When I tried to call to confirm and rebook I was told the flight had indeed cancelled and they couldn't get my ill mother and I on a flight for 2 more days. When I asked if they would put us up into a hotel they said they don't do that. I immediately cancelled the trip with them and the rep on the phone had the audacity to ask if I wanted to join their $9 fair club. To make matters worse I spent 4 hours getting my luggage back so my mother could have her medicine for the evening. Around midnight the airline sent me a $50 email voucher for each of us to rebook another flight with them. What a joke..."

Cons: "I could not believe that two small bags that I intended to carry on ended up costing me over 100 bucks for each way. GARBAGE airline. The seats have been scaled down to about 70 % of normal size to jam more people on board. I will NEVER fly spirit airlines again and I expect to see a fleet of airbuses on the auction market soon."
